Seems like Santonio Holmes has been traded to the Jets for a mere 5th rounder probably because the Steeler front office is tired of his extra baggage that has been popping up lately.

Probable suspension or not, a Superbowl MVP for a 5th rounder is a steal.

^ good trade on both sides. The Phins have been disappointed in Ginn and needed a big name receiver and the Broncos need those picks to rebuild their team.

Source: Steelers face likely 6-figure fine

By Adam Schefter
ESPN

Just as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be held accountable for his actions, so will the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If (and when) Roethlisberger is punished, the franchise is facing a fine upwards of six figures -- possibly in the neighborhood of $200,000 -- for the behavior of Roethlisberger and former Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes, according to a league source.

Two seasons ago, when the NFL implemented its personal conduct policy, it also mandated that teams would be responsible for their players' off-the-field transgressions. If any player ran afoul of the policy's personal conduct guidelines, a team also would be accountable.

How much the Steelers will be penalized won't be determined until after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell decides on any punishment for Roethlisberger, which is not likely to come until after next week's draft. Sources both in and around the league believe Roethlisberger will receive a suspension of between two and four games.

Roethlisberger was accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old college student early in March. He was not charged in the incident. Holmes, traded by Pittsburgh to the New York Jets for a draft pick earlier this week, faces a lawsuit in Florida from a woman who accuses him of throwing a glass at her in an Orlando nightclub. He was also arrested for marijuana possession in 2008 and was involved in a domestic violence indicent in 2006 (misdemeanor charges in that case were dismissed).

When a player forfeits salary during the time of a suspension, a team must forfeit a percentage of the money it no longer is paying the player. There is a ceiling on how much a team must pay the NFL, which is why the Steelers fine could top out at about $200,000. But it is the NFL's way of reinforcing how important it is to protect its image.

Sam Bradford for Big Ben, I'd make the move!

Yeaaah. can't believe the eagles traded up. They need defense, defense. I thought they'd get some secondary help. A pass rusher like Brandon Graham from Michigan helps chase down McNabb two times a year.

ETA:

and good for the Bucs, Gerald McCoy hope he does well

^ We're all SEX ADDICTS!!

TSN2 has been showing all these ESPN 30 for 30, and there's this pretty intriguing episode: "Run Ricky Run" about Dolphins Ricky Williams

found the DL link at: http://www.extremeskins.com/forumdisplay.php?f=26
http://www.twitter.com/?d=628QWH13

The director said something like, "You have to know that when you hold up a camera to Ricky, he is going to hold a mirror back at you."

Even if you or someone you know hasn't battled drug/alcohol addiction first hand, there are still many life lessons to be learned from watching this film.

It's pretty mind blowing, and shows you can really turn your life around if you take the steps to seek the help. it all starts with YOU.

The next big thing Ed Wang wants to make it big in China.

To do so, the Buffalo Bills rookie offensive tackle knows he first has to make his mark in the NFL.

At 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Wang is already turning heads and upending stereotypes by becoming the first player with direct Chinese ancestry to be selected in the NFL draft last month.

The son of former athletes in the Chinese Olympic program was selected in the fifth round out of Virginia Tech, realizing a childhood dream instilled by his disciplinarian parents growing up in Virginia. They prepared him well for challenges that lie ahead.

National Football League star Albert Haynesworth is being sued for $10 million by an exotic dancer who claims he impregnated her and then abandoned her, the New York Post  reported Wednesday.

Silvia Mena, 25, who is nearly four months pregnant, claimed the Washington Redskins player met her in Miami late last year and romanced her during Super Bowl week.

In papers to be filed in a New York court, she said that after Haynesworth, 28, found out about the pregnancy in late February, he promised to "emotionally and financially support" her.

But "after making such promises ... Haynesworth has abandoned the pregnant Silvia Mena ... He has refused to provide any emotional or financial support of Silvia Mena or his unborn child."

The documents claim that Haynesworth -- who signed a $100 million contract with the Redskins last year -- refused to talk to Mena from late March.

Haynesworth's assistant reportedly suggested the dancer "seek treatment from an NFL physician," but Mena feared "some effort might be made to purposefully make her lose the child," the papers said.
"It is very stressful. I cry all the time," Mena said Tuesday.
Her lawyer, Salvatore Strazzullo, said he was filing the $10 million suit Wednesday in Brooklyn Supreme Court.
"This man is worth millions," Strazzullo said. "She has had to apply for Medicaid to take care of her pregnancy."
Haynesworth's agent declined to comment on the claims.
