Not the best performance ever, but a results a result, and no matter how you look at it, every club or supporter will be happy to come away with a win. What a fitting end to Larsson's stay. Top quality player, I'll really miss him, as will the club. Especially after hearing Saha and Solskjaer are injured and only have an inexperienced Alan Smith to rely on. Still, Smith's no layabout, we have the 2nd highest goalscorer in the Premiership (Ronaldo), the tenacity of Rooney, the option to recall Rossi back from his loan spell and the ability to spread goals around to goal-scoring machines like John O'Shea :P

Just right. Like I said, I have no doubt he will play for Spain down the line, and I have no problem with that, just not now. Not when he's as young as he is.

Also it's hilarious to see Arsenal's silverware chances over in the space of 10 days. Sounds harsh I know, but I still don't like you guys for beating us twice this season :P

Damn, we're out. Nothing much to say though, PSV played better. Many chances, but didn't take them. Hell, even the one goal was an own goal. Gomes played really good. How did he block that Henry special >_<

Now I'll go support Liverpool

The quarter finals of the Champions League:

1.AC Milan v Bayern Munich
2.PSV v Liverpool
3.Roma v Manchester United
4.Chelsea v Valencia

The semi-finals are:

Winners of Match 3 v Winners of Match 1
Winners of Match 4 v Winners of Match 2

I'm happy enough. No point in saying I wish we could have drawn someone easier, cause there are no weak teams left at this stage. Roma are a good side, but we're away for the first leg which is always good. Milan or Munich will be the kick in the teeth though. But who knows, it could be a Chelsea v Liverpool semi-final and an all English final.

If that happened I'd be sick, I couldn't watch. That would just be way too much.

Draw. That's fine, at least we play them at home next leg. There was a bit of time when I was shitting myself but draws seem to be what we do best at the FA Cup :P

Is it just me, or is the BBC commentary getting worse? Mark Lawrenson in particular, is becoming increasingly grating. I mean, here's some statements I had issue with:

"That was a controversial penalty...

Sorry? Since when did the ball hitting both hands in a penalty box, not constitute a penalty?

"Well Larsson is going back and Solskjaer and Saha are injured, besides from that they have Smith, and United don't really have much else apart from that"

You can say that for any team. If Chelsea lose Drogba to injury, can you really say they have as much depth to pick from? No team has a multitude of strikers to choose from, at will, that can keep up with the goalscoring abilities as first team players because they won't have the opportunity to play, otherwise if they do, the team will be labelled as 'second rate' by media types such as yourselves. Give me a break.

And I had to laugh at this statement:

I'm just worried because the replay is on the Monday and a lot of the English players in the United squad like Rooney, Neville and Ferdinand will be used and have no time to rest for the England international on Saturday

Nobody cares about England anymore, fool

I woke up late so I only caught the last 40 minutes (well, I was planning to watch the replay, because the match was too early for me), but how was that a controversal penalty? He hacked the ball with both hands!!!

But have to agree with the strikers department, we are pretty thin there. But if anything, we are in better shape that department then pre-jan when we basically only had rooney and saha (and we were lucky that saha stayed injury free all through that time, I can't what kind of formation we would have to put out if saha was injured say from oct-dec). But at least we have Smith to try out, hey, we might even try the Chinese dude and see if he's actually any good.

But it's still a pain to see O'shea playing in central midfield.

yeah agree with you on o'shea's contribution, or the lack of it.
I though the commentator for bbc sports was pretty dull, unlike gary lineker in the talk show... with his witty comments and all...
but today, united showed that defence lapses are costly errors, especially when boro equalised at the very very end of first half... my my it was painful seeing the epl's best defence this season making such errors...

Argh fuck fuck fuck!!! I fucking hate Chelsea. They were down 3-1 at half time and went to draw it in the final minutes forcing a replay. Although it was poor for Martin Jol to take off Berbatov and Lennon when Mourinho decided to leave two/three defenders on and forced everyone to go on the offensive. Here's hoping White Hart Lane will be the killing ground for Chelsea's boasts of a quad.

The good thing is that Chelsea has to play an extra game like we do, so hopefully they'll struggle in the league games (especially since Terry is still half buggered). ANd it might work out well for us since Scholes will now only miss league game (because of the extra FA cup match) I think.

The full Europe XI squad
Goalkeepers: Oliver Kahn, Grégory Coupet, Iker Casillas.
Defenders: Paolo Maldini, Jamie Carragher, Eric Abidal, Lilan Thuram, Carles Puyol, Marco Materazzi, Fabio Grosso.
Midfielders: Gianluca Zambrotta, Steven Gerrard, Juninho Pernambucano, Florent Malouda, Luis Miguel, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo.
Strikers: Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Alessandro Mancini, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrik Larsson.

Wow, I never noticed that Mr.Hollywood has been excluded until today. Weird. How come he's not in the squad? Which do you think Victoria is more likely to have told him? That it wasn't profitable enough or not glamarous enough?  :P
