I hope we'll be given great football tonight. Matches like this can be anything from awfully boring to extremely entertaining. Not many hours left now until it's on.

Manchester United 4-3 Europe XI

Muhahahaha not even the Europe elect can stop us! :P What a free kick from Ronaldo though. Just as a reminder on how much that contract is worth :D Yeah so what if there were no challenges or it wasn't competitive enough. None of this players want to get injured in a friendly (certainly not us), 7 goals were scored and over 70,000 people raised money for charity.

So cool to see Cole in a Utd shirt again! And I'm really pleased with the reception he got too. Legend in my eyes. Mr.Hollywood came on and waved at the crowd for a bit, which was nice. Would have been better to seen him in a Utd shirt again though.

Who actually played for Europe XI? I watched some highlights on YouTube and didn't see the big name Brazilian players, though I did see Diouf and some more Liverpool players, who weren't on the list. I assume there was a lot of last minute changes.

It looked to be a good game. Awesome free kick from Ronaldo, though all the United fans boo'd the Liverpool players, lol.

I can't remember all of the players and I'm too lazy to look it up. But i know Zambrotta, Matrix, Zlatan, Larrson, Källström, Stelios, Diouf (wich you mentioned) aswell as them liverpool dudes. And some other players aswell. They made lots of substitutions in half time. As did Utd, wich totally turned the match. It was great the first 45 and then it was just more or less boring. It was close however that Dong would make a goal. I think that'd be good for him.

^ Apparently, Dong has a lot of pace to him. Might as well give him a chance.

I imagine the Ronaldo rumours will just not go away until he actually goes and plays for La Liga. If he's playing well it's, "BARCELONA WILL SELL RONALDINHO FOR RONALDO!" And if there's any hint he's unhappy its "REAL MADRID STEP UP OFFER!" Lippi says it would be a huge mistake for Ronaldo to leave, but Diego (woah oh) Forlan says Ronaldo should move. Is there something about playing in Spain that's so mesmerising? Something we don't perhaps know about? Maybe they've secretly discovered Atlantis or something? Cause the way I see it, the Premiership is the best league, with the best teams, and the best players. 3 English clubs in this stage of the Champions League should signify that when compared to Spain's 1.

Football League clubs have agreed to consider a revolutionary proposal for penalty shoot-outs to decide all drawn matches as part of a wider review aimed at making the game more entertaining.

What the hell were these guys smoking when they came up with this crackpot idea? It's encouraging to see a lot of managers slam the idea too. There's nothing wrong with the system as it is. This was tried in America and that got abandoned very quickly too. There's virtually no guarantee it would make things exciting anyway. Defensive teams will simply play away and play defensively throughout the whole match, willing to take their chances with the shootout.

In the most bizarre news of today, Chelsea have banned celery from Stamford Bridge

I saw that on the sports news yesterday. Plymouth's manager totally thrashed the idea. haha. A few other mangers did too.

Well, I agree with them, the idea is totally retarded.

haha that would signify the end of FIFA if such an idiotic idea was approved.....
anyways, apparently, the main idea is that Spanish leagues are more for dribblers than the English game, or so i heard. Still, i wont say that makes the whole game more exciting, the unpredictable nature of the English is wad makes it so damn entertaining!!!

Manchester United 4 - 1 Bolton

'United won't cope without Larsson'. Yeah it really looks like it  I notice Park's becoming a better player lately (as if 2 goals today wouldn't tell you that). Ronaldo, once again, a genius at what he does.

So you Chelsea can go and play your little game with Sheffield Utd. We put the ball back in your court now.

Park becoming a better player? He's always been fantastic, he simply hasn't been given the chance properly yet as he was used as an impact player originally and then injuries bogged him down. Sure he hasn't scored many goals (with the exception of today obviously) but he's oneof the most consistent, hard-working players around. I can tell you he's always been a good 'un from his days at Purple Sanga all those years ago!

Yeah he really is a great player, even when he seems to be doing little in a match if you watch him off the ball he's fantastic, always getting in a tackle or disrupting play and then making himself available as soon as his team have the ball back.

Quote from: Gareth Southgate
"We've played them three times and had three controversial penalties"

I have the solution. Don't tell your players to make sliding tackles to the oppositon deep in the penalty area. Sorted. Christ, I like how everyone bitches about Ronaldo at every opportunity they can, but you just know they wouldn't if he was on their team. Or if he was English.

And here's another bit of good news:

Quote from: C.Ron
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with moves to both Real and Barcelona in recent weeks but Barca claimed on Tuesday they have made no approach, and Real's hopes of signing him now appear to have been dashed.

The Portuguese winger said: "I consider myself a United footballer who is playing well and trying to help the team.

"If things keep going well, I want to stay here. I'm not a Galactico.

"I'm only thinking about United and I want to stay here for more than two more years.

"I want to leave my mark on this era, win titles and be a figure in the history of this club."

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8668_2007643,00.html

You're not far off :D

In other news, wouldn't it have been hilarious if Frank Lampard did get knocked out by the raging fan? The only downside about the whole thing was that he missed.

^ Then Chelsea would have another reason to add if they fail to retain the premiership title.

Singapore did infact enforced that stupid "penalty-after-a-draw-game" rule and needless to say [exageratted]weak teams playing away played 11 men inside their own penalty box [/exageratted]. Even when they had the ball, they were unwilling to run up xD

N.Ireland 4 - 1 Lichtenstein Healey's a legend!! :D

England 0 - 0 Israel

Oh dear. 5 games without a win and only 1 goal scored by England in those games. Their worst run in 50 years or something like that. Bad for them. Hilarious for the rest of us :D England just doesn't work as an international team. Gerrard and Lampard doesn't work together. Safe to say, McClaren's gone. And when did Sky Sports become the BNP channel? "England plays the fairest football in the world"? "If that was a foreign player he'd be diving and rolling 3 times over"? Come on Sky, I know you have to show support for your country, but to sugarcoat over the truth is just pathetic.

Damn PSV was trashed 0-3 in their home ground by Liverpool. Good luck to them in their next week's travel to Anfield.

AC Milan 2 -2 Bayern Munich. Bayern's lucky to get that last minute goal, but i have a feeling Milan will get some away goals as well in the reverse fixture.
