After much wait, the highly anticipated release date of Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season on DVD & Blu-ray has finally been revealed.On March 6, 2012, the first installment of George R. R. Martin’s epic tale of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros will be making its way to home video, with a listed price of $79.98 for Blu-ray and $59.99 for DVD.Included in the release will be all 10-episodes from the first season of Game of Thrones (seven of which will include audio commentaries), a 30-minute “Making Game of Thrones” featurette, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series’ memorable opening title sequence, plus many more.For those that option for the 1080p Blu-ray release of Game of Thrones, you’ll find four additional extras not available on DVD. On top of an exclusive guide to Westeros (a slimmer version will be available on DVD), the high-def release will also include “Anatomy of an Episode,” which will provide an in-episode experience for viewers to see how they made the memorable sixth episode, “A Golden Crown.”
