Q. What do you think about a girl who eats a lot? Do you think a girl who eats VERY little is prettier than a girl who eats a lot?
A. I think girl who eats a lot is pretty too. I don't care how much the girl eats but I do care of how they eat. How they hold chopsticks and their manners. I like a girl who is comfortable to eat with. Besides, girls who eat a lot mean that the food they are eating must be great right? I think that is really great!
Q. When you are playing drums on stage, what are you thinking about?
A. I don't think about anything (laughs) I'm really focused when I'm playing. So when I realize, the song just ended. I really don't think about anything when I play.
Q. What did you buy lately?
A. I wanted some clothes so I went shopping, but that day I couldn't find any good clothes so I didn't buy any. When I'm on "Takizawa Enbujo (stage)", I did lots of shopping inTokyo...So I try not to do shopping (laughs).
Q. What do you want to eat before you die?
A. I don’t want to think about it because I really don’t want to die (laughs).
Q. What is your most important stuff now?
A. A fan’s letter. I always get encouraged from the fan’s messages of support. But I don’t have a place for fan’s letters. What should I do?
Q. You were saying “I’m really tired of roughness” before, but did it get cured?
A. It did. When I’m on the stage, I sweat a lot because I’m wearing make up and I think that is the cause of roughness. I didn’t do anything for skin care but it got cured ?
Q. Do you have a plan for a hair cut?
A. Absolutely not! (laughs) I think my hair now is short enough. I’m not planning to have long hair, but I’m not planning to cut it either.
Q. Which season do you like?
A. Not that I like Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter, but I like the beginning of all seasons. I like the feeling of new season coming.
Q. How can I learn to be a better drummer? When did you start playing drums?
A. When you learn it, don’t look for an easy way to get better. You just have to work hard. When I look back I realize, that it is in one’s body in which you make the effort to start the real result, than any other kinds of things that take shortcuts. Oh and I think I started playing the drums when I was a sophomore. I played the drums before and teacher told me “you are very perceptive in playing the drums” but I didn’t believe him (laughs). But when I think about it now I guess I got along well with drums.
Q. In General what character would you want to play if you get offered for a drama?
A. I want to play the complete opposite of my own character. It’s ok to play a bad person but I don’t want to die in the drama either, so I just turn down any job offers for that (laughs)
SHOTA YASUDA[/u]
Q. I heard that you had surgery on your eyes. Where your eyes really that bad?
A. Well I used to drop my contact lenses about three times or more during concerts, since this happened so often I decided to get laser eye surgery. Before my eye sight was 0.03, but now after the surgery its 1.5 so my eye sight has really improved a lot.
Q. I read a magazine called Duet saying your first kiss was in 8th grade. Can you tell me a lot more specifically?
A. Well if I say the truth, my first kiss was in pre-school. My pre-school teacher took my first kiss. When I was in 8th grade, after school in class this girl who wasn’t even my girlfriend or anything just came up to me and kissed me. I was so surprised. From both stories both girls kissed me, but when I get a new girlfriend, I want to be the one to kiss her (laughs).
Q. What’s your favorite sport?
A. Of course volleyball. Before I joined Johnny’s Juniors I was in the volleyball team in Jr. High for half the year.
Q. I heard that someone took a strawberry from you and you cried, is that true?
A. Yea that’s true, but I didn’t cry out of sadness. When we were recording the show we ate cakes. I was commenting on something, and happened to look down at my cake, and my strawberry was gone. I looked at the person next to me, who was Subaru, and he was eating my strawberry. He doesn’t even like strawberries that much, but he was eating my strawberry with it full in his cheek and looking at me sideways with an expression that read “does he know I’m eating his strawberry? Does he? Does he!?” so I cried because of how funny he looked.
Q. What’s your pet’s name?
A. Miru is a miniature Dachshund, A Border collie named Ari, and a weimarener named Peace.
Q. Why do you act girly?
A. (Hina said “you’re man-pretty”) Yasu: Man-pretty? (laughs) Maybe I have more woman hormones than guy hormones. Maybe I’m girly because I hangout with my sister a lot.
Q. Why did you change your hairstyle?
A. I don’t have a reason why I changed (laughs).
Q. You said that you like to take a picture of your sister’s baby’s ugly face. Why do you like to take a picture of an ugly face? Why not a pretty face?
A. Because ugly faces have better characteristics of a persons true self than a person with a pretty face. I like girls with a normal face instead of a girl posing for the picture.
Q. If you didn’t do this job, what job will you do?
A. A clothes designer. I always draw and put rhinestones on my T-shirts and hats.
Q. What clothes are you interested in fashion?
A. I interested in colorful clothes. When I match colors, I want to be one step back so it’s not too much. During the summer I like to wear V-neck shirts and show my chest (laughs).
RYUHEI MARUYAMA[/u]
Q. Why do you always act so High?
A. Because fans are always encouraging us. That gives me the power to be high. Well, actually I've always been high ever since I was a little kid (laughs). My teacher always told me to be quiet.
Q. What is the meaning of "pudding is PAAAN!!!"? Many people are using this at my school.
A. I'm really happy that many people are using this at your school. Well, it doesn't have any meaning whatsoever (laughs). I used this for the very first time at the summer stage one year before last year. And during the last concert, a kanjani8 member was using this and so the fans said it with us. That was a really good moment. Thank you everyone *tear drops*
Q. What other quotes do you have than "PAAAN!!!" for a good mood?
A. "Amarsu!" I use it when I get attacked and it really hurts, so I say it loud "Amarsu!" For my reaction. Make someone to use it!
Q. You really like sweets but, it never looks like you gain weight, do you?
A. I eat sweets a lot but I move a lot too so its fine! My favorite sweets come from where I was born. There's a coffee shop with Mille feuille (French dessert). It's so delicious!
Q. Why your skin is so beautiful? I think you beat Yokoyama.
A. NNNOO! I can't beat Yokoyama-kun (laughs). I wash my face and put skin care every night. And in the morning I wash my face again. My skins doing pretty well. Face wash is really important.
Q. I heard that you love your sister very much and you have a sister complex. Is that true?
A. Yes I have a sister complex (laughs). My sister will be eight years old soon. This morning when I was going out I said to my sister “Where is a kiss for your big brother?” and my sister just runs to the door and hugged and kissed me *blush*
She is so cute. My brother is almost ten years old. He follows me like a dog. We play ghosty (!?) all the time together and always have fun.
Q. May I grab your chin?
A. Go ahead.
Q. If your crush makes you some food, what kind of food would you want her to make for you?
A. Karaage (Japanese style of fried chicken), Mabou tofu (not sure spelling is right) and Chinjao rouse ( not sure spelling is right again and both are Chinese food). I love Chinese food these days. But I might back off if I see my crush throwing around the Chinese pot (laughs). For extra information, my family’s best food is not Chinese, it’s oden (Japanese nabe stuff). It’s so good.
Q. When you go to a convenience store, what areas do you go to first?
A. I always go to the snacks corner first. I always check if new snacks are out or not.
Q. I heard that you and a member of Kanjani8 went to the Karaoke together. What did you guys sing?
A. After we finished work for the TV show at Tokyo, we all went to eat dinner and after that we went to karaoke. For the opening, we all sang “F.T.O.” together. We all were like, “It’s real! Real persons are singing!!” (saying to their self lol) Oh, but Yokoyama-kun was singing anime song (laughs).
SHINGO MURAKAMI[/u]
Q. I read a magazine before and it said on there that you said “I try my best no matter how, I’ll always take 20 minutes for my bath time”. How long will it take you for normal time?
A. If it is only a shower, about 30 minutes. But If I get into the bathtub, it will take me about an hour.
Q. Do you like any sports other than soccer?
A. I was in a basket ball team since 5th grade all the way to 9th grade so I do like basket ball. I did play golf a little while ago but I don't think I was very good (laughs)
Q. Why did you decided to do that hairstyle? What was the other members reaction to it?
A. I wanted to do longhair for the longest time. I wanted to do it before the concert and Subaru said "than wear an extension" but I was like "ahhh...thats not my thing"....but yea, I wear it anyway. Many guys are saying its pretty good. Well, other than the members. Members and girls says that "you look better with short hair" (laughs).
Q. What is your girl type?
A. I like smart girls, and girls who are very well mannered, I also like girls who greet nice and polite. I don't like a girl that acts like your the same age or friends with waiters/waitresses when we go to a restaurant.
Q. Did your charming pointed fang get any cavity?
A. My fang? It's fine. I'm brushing my teeth.
Q. When you feel depressed, how do you cheer yourself up?
A. First, I try not to be depressed. Like before, when I was recording, a staff told me that I’m becoming a better singer. that made me really happy, so the next day I told Subaru to listen to me when I’m singing. After I sang, Subaru said “I heard it. But the staff were saying “that was awful” and stuff like that“...Usually I should be depressed but I’ll still think “I’m not good enough yet. I have to try harder” . I've become a really positive thinker (laughs).
Q. I've heard that your clothes are fashionable, but what is your style?
A. lately I've been wearing normal clothes for work. Like today I’m wearing a red jacket with jeans. But yea, I guess I am fashionable for private times outside of work. I wear a spangle of wing shapes on my back with a snake handle or stuff like that.
Q. What is your eyesight?
A. I used to have 2.0, but I don’t know about that now. I’m sure my left eye’s getting bad though. I guess 1.2 or something like that.
Q. What do you like about the other members? And what about them would you change?
A. I already got over with that. It won’t change no matter how many times I say it. Yoko does this nasty noise when hes eating, I say “stop doing that” but he say “It sounds like I’m eating some delicious food huh?” So he won’t listen to me....For the opposite what do I like about Yoko? It’s not like I like this about him, but I’m kinda jealous that he lives with freewheelingness (laughs).
Q. Please can you be a little more calm?
A. That is my job! You’d say something back if I were calmer than this, right? (laughs)
SUBARU SHIBUTANI[/u]
Q. During the concert, did you search for the person who had your face on their uchiwa?
A. Well I don’t look for it, but it just comes to my eyes (laughs). Some girls write messages on it, and once before there was one that said “do rock, paper, scissors” so I did.
Q. Is it true that you don’t know Nishikido-kun(Ryo)’s phone number?
A. I guess I didn’t have time to ask him his phone number (laughs). I’ll ask him someday when I have some good time to ask.
Q. Kansai’s famous food is “Takoyaki” and “Okonomiyaki”. Do you eat them often?
A. Actually, when I was little, my Mom made okonomiyaki and for some weird mistake, she made it with a bitter taste...it wasn’t good...and because of that, I don’t like okonomiyaki. I eat takoyaki but not that often.
Q. What is your names meaning?
A. Ah, don’t know. Never asked (laughs). I only know that the symbol of it is ”昴 (Subaru)” couldn’t use that for my name so my name is just in hiragana “すばる (Subaru)”. And my Mom named me. the meaning of my name is...I’ll ask her someday.
Q. What do you do before you go to bed?
A. I don’t do anything that I dont need to do before going to bed. When I can’t sleep, I try to sleep and if that is not going to work, I’ll just stay awake.
Q. You guys must ride the blue train a lot, what do you do when your inside of the blue train?
A. Listening to music, reading books or sleeping! Right now I’m into this book that I borrowed from Hina. The book says with "Capone" who wrote a life of Alphonso Capone who became a model of a movie "outcast". It’s interesting. nowadays you can buy anything on the internet so I can buy it easily. That makes me buy many thing....
Q. You said that you have a lot of hats, but how many do you have?
A. Many. I never counted so I don’t know how many but I do have a lot. A couple of days ago, I went to shopping with Yasu and I bought another hat. It’s brown with a net design and the point is this light blue rope...Yasu said “it looks pretty good on you” and when I tried it on, it looked really good with the cloths I was wearing that day so I bought it (laughs)
Q. Where do you get that your highness from?
A. It comes from somewhere inside of me and comes up naturally so I don’t know where its from.
Q. Do you like Yasuda-kun(Yasu)?
A. Yes, I do like him. We are really close because we have the same interests in fashion and music. We can enjoy going shopping and to concerts together. I can’t go anywhere by myself so I’m really thankful to him.
Q. I Challenge you to straighten your hair!
A. I don’t like straight hair while having long hair. I won’t have curly hair like now forever but I’ll be like this for little bit more. I think its very suitable on me (laughs). My ideal hair is Angela Aki's hairstyle. So I'm thinking of making it longer.
YU YOKOYAMA[/u]
Q. How can I feel happy everyday?
A. Shouldn’t that question be your motivation? If you think that you should try to be happy everyday, wouldn’t you be happy everyday? But you won’t always be happy everyday, some bad things will happen. If bad things do happen, good things will surely happen too. That’s why people never give up.
Q. Shouldn’t 3kyoudai’s second brother be Baru (Subaru) not Chipa (Yasu)?
A. We decided to do it that way just because we thought that would be funnier. That’s it.
Q. What member are you most attracted to?
A. I guess Maru. I’ve gotten closer to Maru than I used to be. We’ve eaten together before, but I don’t really hang out with Maru and Yasu privately so I wonder what they do together during their private times. How about Yasu? I really don’t care about Yasu (laughs).
Q. I Imagine that you’re the kind of person who eats a lot of food, so when was the most recent time you’ve really pigged out?
A. I don’t eat that much food. I do eat more than normal people really should though. But I definitely don’t eat as much as Okura. When we go to Japanese barbeques I don’t eat any rice, and barely any meat, but I do drink a lot.
Q. you eat a lot of food Yokoyama-kun, but why is your body in such good condition?
A. Like I said before I don’t eat a lot! And my body isn’t in that great of a condition. My arms are skinny but a really sad thing is my stomach makes a noise if you pat it. So I’m trying to get skinnier. I’ve already stopped eating extra foods. I’ve never had a goal like this.
Q. My idol is you Yokoyama-kun, but who is your idol?
A. I never thought of that, but I guess everyone in Johnny’s is my idol. Kanjani8 too. Normally I don’t feel it, but when people on the street come and talk to me, I feel that I am an idol.
Q. Yokoyama-kun! When did you become a comedian?
A. “When”?? I never have been a comedian. I just like funny stuff. Oh, but I like it when people call me funny. If its between “cool” and “funny”, I like being called cool but funny people are cool.
Q. Why do you always try to be funny?
A. Because that is my job! (laughs)
Q. Your 25 now. What do you want to do this year to make it a great year?
A. I want to do lots of concerts. I love concerts. Privately…I don’t really have anything that I want to do.
Q. I want to see your kissy face.
A. Than I’ll do it when we meet. Just tell me when you see me around (laughs).
RYO NISHIKIDO[/u]
Q. You said that you are good a doing the laundry, what are you doing that makes the laundry so good?
A. Is it ok if it’s what I do and not what your supposed to do? I use a really good smelling soap not from Japan.
Q. What point do you decide to change your hairstyle?
A. When I cut my hair or change my hairstyle it all depends on my mood that day or I just let my hairstylist decide so I never plan ahead of time when I’m going to cut my hair.
Q. Is it true that you don’t like to eat sweets?
A. Yes that’s true, I especially don’t like whip cream. So I can’t handle cake at all or deserts from other countries because of how sweet they are. But when I do want to eat something sweet I eat yogurt?
Q. I heard that you are really good at making garlic rice what other foods can you make really well?
A. Yea, my mom taught me that recipe. First you slice a tomato and put cheese on top. Repeat this process over and over again. Second, put the cheese and tomatoes on a plate. Lastly add salt, pepper, and olive oil! I don’t know what this recipe is called (laughs)
Q. Your character is really cold and sharp, do you ever plan to change that?
A. To Kanjani8 I’m not cold or sharp, actually when I’m with them my character changes to that of a little brother. Well I believe that I shouldn’t change my character unnaturally. So if my natural character is cold and sharp I think I should stick with that. I really think that, that is best.
Q. What do you do on your day off?
A. My recent day off, I was preparing my remote control! TV, video, air conditioner, I have many controllers. There is one remote that can put all remotes on one remote, so I bought that. But I have lots of remote that I wanted to put so I used my whole day off (laughs). I can’t wait to use it.
Q. Who do you talk with the most from the drama called “Attention Please?”
A. I have most of my scenes with Aya Ueto so I guess her. But we only talk like “today has such nice weather” or something like that (laughs). All of staff is really nice and fun to be with, so It makes me feel really good to be there.
Q. When was the first time you were on TV?
A. I was sitting with all of the other Jr.s in the back when Tacky (Hideaki Takizawa) was singing. In the middle of the song, we had to stand up. I stood up at the right time but all of the other Jr.s mistook the timing that they were supposed to stand so it looked like I did it wrong…But I was so happy about it, that I recorded that show on my TV.
Q. I have four brothers just like you. When do you feel that having four brothers is a really great thing?
A. I can’t really say that ‘this’ is why or something, but I’m glad that I’m not the only kid from my parents. I’d be such a loner right? I like myself, and I became like this because of the people around me, like my brothers, my sister, friends, and a lot of other people. So I’m really thankful to my brothers and sister too.
Q. For dramas and concerts that you are doing, don’t you get tired from doing those both at the same time?
A. No I’m fine. I don’t feel tired. Besides, I really like myself when I’m doing my best (laughs).
