Chapter 29:
AT THE ABANDONED WAREHOUSE
Kai sneak out himself when his father’s special unit force came in. He felt guilty leaving them without saying anything but he knew that he doesn’t have the time to deal with these bastards. His top priority is find Atsuko fast as his been having a really bad feeling ever since he found out that she’s been kidnap. Kai tried to look for more possible place for where Atsuko is held captive but he still didn’t find her inside the castle.
Then Kai suddenly stop as he remember something that he didn’t really paid much attention to earlier when he saw the layout of the Island’s map. He remembered there’s an abandoned warehouse at the back of the castle. He hurriedly went there, and once he found the abandoned warehouse, he saw Ray inside with his two big bodyguards.
“Ray.” Kai said to himself then quickly dashed inside
“Miss Ray, this place is not safe anymore, please leave.” A voice said, then slowly appeared before Ray and his bodyguards
“You!”Atsuko shouted to the red masked man when she recognize him
“Atsuko!!!” Kai shouted as he arrived just in time to see the man wearing a red mask sending Ray out of the abandon building.
“KAI!!!”Atsuko called Kai back
“Kai…”Ray suddenly turns mellow when she saw Kai. The red masked man glared at Ray’s bodyguard to take her out off the Island. The two
big muscled guys almost pee their pants from the glare, so before the red masked man killed them if they didn’t obey, they quickly grab Ray and forcefully take her out of the Island.
“Put me down!” Ray struggle but her bodyguards continue to take her away.
“It was you! You will pay for all you have done! For all of Atsuko and Nami-chan’s misery and pain! For everything!” Kai shouted. He then drew out his Katana and charge in.
Even though Kai wanted to kill the red masked man, he knew he couldn’t as they still need him alive for questioning and such so he only attack to the places where it could slow down the red masked while on the other hand, the red masked man who from the very beginning have been attacking Kai the intention of killing him
Kai who’s not really a good weapon user just barely able to defend himself from the well trained and master weapon user, red masked man, as Kai continue his attack, the last bit fragment of his memories are starting to flashes back to him. This only decreases his chances on winning against the red masked man as his head can’t really concentrate on the fight. Acchan notice that Kai’s movements are becoming sluggish and he keeps holding on to his head. She can see that Kai is really struggling to keep his focus on the fight, as he just hardly defending himself.
“Kai! Watch out!” Atsuko shouted as she saw the red masked man’s katana just inches away from Kai’s throat, and if Atsuko didn’t called out for him, he might be died by now.
“Damn it! I admit you are strong, but I can’t lose here!” Kai then he is slowly gaining his strength back, ignoring the throbbing pain on his head and push away the red masked man’s sword away from him, the force suddenly surprise the red masked man that he was pushed back a few meters away from Kai.
“Atsuko, just hang in there for a bit, I’ll take care of this man pretty soon.”
Kai suddenly changes his stance, left feet in front, both feet slightly bent down and not widely apart. His body aligns with his feet and his sword rose to the level of his face and pointing towards his target, Kai aiming to kill this man. The red masked man ready himself as he knew Kai is now finally serious as he can see it in his eyes. The two didn’t moved at all just both looking at each other, as they are trying to read each other’s movement. A second has pass, a minute has pass and both are still remaining still from their position, just waiting for the perfect opening for them to attack.
Then at the same time, both dash in and exchanged attack, Kai’s sword slashes off the masked from the masked man and revealing the man behind the mask to Atsuko and Kai who are both shock to see the man who cause all their misery and suffering
“So it was you all along………………Toshi.”Kai weakly said, he’s knees buckle down as Toshi’s sword was able to slash off his bulletproof vest and was able to hit him on the abdomen, exactly where his old scar was.
_FLASHBACK_
KAI’S POV
It was 13 years ago, on one summer rainy night, my father brought home a young man who’s in 20’s. He looked beaten up as I can see bruises and wounds on his arms and face. It turns out he was saved by my father from some gangsters who was beating him up on some alley. It was also around this time when my father introduces me to his friend’s family, Atsuko’s family.
“I’m home!”My father happily announces. I close my laptop and turn my attention to my father and his companion
“Dad, who is he?”I asked as he examines him from head to toe. He was also skinny and looked sick, he was very quiet and mysterious and the way he looked at me, give me the creeps for some reason
“This is Toshi; he will be your new butler.” My father smiled to me as he said this
“Dad, are you serious? I told you I don’t need a butler! And that guy looks lot weaker than me!” I said mockingly. I left my father and Toshi to go upstairs to my room. Then as time flies by, I’ve got to know him little by little though I still never approved or accepted the fact that he is my butler, until one incident
One weekend, where Atsuko and her parents usually came to visit me and my dad, we were playing catch ball at the little garden outside the house, me and Atsuko are both challenging ourselves with who can throw the ball much higher than the other.
“Acchan, ready?” I asked as I take a couple step back and throw the rubber ball to her. The ball was too high and too fast for her to catch it, so the ball went over the fence.
“I’ll go get it.” She said and went outside the manor.
“Acchan wait!” I ran after her but once outside the manor what I saw totally surprise me. A black van stop just outside the gate and they took Atsuko.
“KAImmmm!”Atsuko called me but the masked man covered her mouth and took her inside and drives away.
I ran as a fast as I could to go after them, but I knew, I wouldn’t be able to catch up so reached up to the van and placed a tracking device. Once they are gone I quickly went back inside the mansion and told my father and Atsuko’s parent what just happen. My father quickly assembles his special assault units and other forces to that they could go after Atsuko as soon as possible.
“Dad, Let me go with you!” I said insisting to go with them to save Atsuko.
“Kai, you are too young for this kind of things. “My father bent down and places his two hands on my shoulder comfortingly
“I know that, but I can take care of myself and I need to take responsibility for what I did, it’s my fault that Atsuko’s been kidnap!”I still insist on going with them.
“Yes, I know you can take care of yourself but that is not enough. I don’t want to worry about you when I go there and fight.”My father slowly getting up as uncle Atsushi called him over.
“Kaidou, hurry up and let’s go!” Uncle Atsushi impatiently called.
“But…”I tried to reason
“No buts, Kai. You stay here and that’s final.” My Father with a serious look on his face said.
“Fine!” I grumpily said as I left the living room.
My father, his butler and Uncle Atsushi together with the special assault unit, gathered at the backyard to where the helicopters and fighter planes are waiting for them to load there things and get ready to go. I standing on the balcony watching them getting ready to take off, when suddenly something come up. I have notice the big cargos that are getting ready to board on the plane, they are big enough in order for me to hide. So I hurriedly get change to my military uniform, get my sword and guns and other necessary item and sneakily get on the cargo plane.
After half an hour later, the plane is starting to descend. Once landed on the ground, I heard footsteps and mumbling. I slowly crawled out of the cargo plane to take a peek at The special unit, together with my father and uncle Atsushi who are just going over there plan.
“Ok…Everyone know the plan right?” Uncle Atsushi asked
“Yes, Atsushi, Calm down ok, we will save Atsuko-chan no matter what and those bastards are going to pay for it.” My father walked to uncle Atsushi and places a hand on his shoulder.
“Thank you. Now men, Let move out!” Uncle Atsushi said. I silently watch them go towards abandon building, and once I take one last look to check if someone will notice me, I jump down from the plane and also followed where my father and uncle Atsushi have gone through.
As I near the building, I start hearing gunshots. I took out my gun and sneakily get inside the building without being notice, and then I start looking for Atsuko, running around from room to room not bothering the non-stop gunshot and screams that I’ve been hearing. I stop myself from aimlessly running around as something caught my attention. Something shiny is glistening at a building next to the building where I currently am. Then I remember Atsuko was always wearing a pendant, when that hit me, I run as fast as I could towards the next building. And just as I though Atsuko was there, tied up with only a couple of handful guards that I knew I can take on. I take out my gun and silently shot them one by one
“Atsuko!” I hurriedly run to her side once the guards are down something happen that I barely had the time to notice it. Someone just slashed me and I break down.
“KAI!!” Atsuko shouted. Tears are falling down on her angelic face as she watches me fall down. I touch the wound where the man slashed at me and I see lots of bloods on my hand, before I lose my consciousness, I saw the man who slashed at me, he was a man wearing red mask, then my father together with his team and uncle Atsushi came in just in time to save me and Atsuko.
After the kidnapping, I swore to myself to get better and stronger and not lose again in order to protect the people who are important to me even if asking and accepting my “butler” Toshi to train me with swords as it turns out he was a skilled swordsman.
_END OF FLASHBACK_
“Why?” Atsuko can only said as she still couldn’t believe Toshi, the nice and funny man that’s always been there helping them was her parents and uncle’s killer.
“Now that I think about it, you weren’t around at that time when Atsuko was kidnap!” Kai remembering that on that day, Toshi asked for a day off saying something about doing something important.
“It’s too late to realize it, young master.” Toshi finally spoke.
“Don’t call me that! All this time, I have trusted you! You were my master! A brother and a friend to me! So everything was all planned out!” Kai angrily shouted to Toshi.
“I should have known it from the very first time I saw you!! I should have trusted my instinct that’s telling me that you will only bring disaster and trouble to me and my family!” Kai shouted as he regrets all the things that happen.
“Tell me, was it you who made me lose my memory.” Kai asked as he slowly getting up.
“You were supposed to die cause by an “accident”, not lose your memory.” Toshi blankly said
“I see, and then I guess I don’t have to hold myself any longer.” Kai ripped off the both of his sleeves off his military uniform and wrapped it around his abdomen to try and slow down the bleeding.
“This time, for sure I won’t lose to you. I’ll finish my job that I couldn’t do before and I’ll make you regret for betraying and destroy the trust that I have given you, and to all the lies and suffering you have cause to me and Atsuko.” Kai looked at Toshi with a dead serious look
on his face.
The aura around Kai suddenly change, this time for sure he is going for the kill. He knew that he must take care of Toshi fast and quickly as the wound he got is soon going to catch up to him. So took of his bulletproof vest since it’s no use already as it’s already been torn apart but due to the fact that the weight of the vest will only slow him down more. He let go off his sword and put on his gauntlet as he know the only way to win against Toshi is to fight him bare handed where he is most confident and skilled at. Kai grip his knuckles tightly as he readies himself for the final showdown. Toshi also get himself ready and scrutinizes Kai for openings, but he found none. So this time he attack in first as to make an opening for himself and slashes Kai left and right with some combination of high and reverse kick which Kai barely deflect and dodges, as he couldn’t properly move due to the wound.
Kai also throw in fast and deadly combination of punches and kicks that were successfully landed and hit Toshi that causes him to lose his balance for a bit as he didn’t expect the kind of impact he will receive from the variation of punches and kicks from Kai. For once, Kai’s actually pushing Toshi onto a corner and gaining the momentum on the fight.
Kai knew from that level of attacks he won’t get Toshi to back down, so before he recovered from the hits that he just took, Kai dashed towards him and give Toshi the finishing blow, a punch through his chest. The impact is so powerful it made Toshi cough blood from his mouth though he was still able to withstand it. Kai too cough up blood and his knees breaks down as he’s already pushing himself. Upon seeing Kai slightly down on the ground, Toshi took this chance and strikes Kai down with his sword.
“KAI!!!” Atsuko shouted to alarm Kai.
And to Toshi’s amazement, Kai was able to catch the sword just mere inches away from his head. He grip on the sword tightly making the sword cut through the gauntlet and his hand, making it bleed as he stood up he’s knees where shaking but he gather up his strength and firmly stand, he then twist the sword, forcing it to break in half and hit Toshi on his chest as hard as he could with the broken half sword of Toshi’s. Toshi staggered back, he look at Kai, then to the sword on his chest, back and forth and finally drop down to the ground.
“KAI!” Atsuko shouted again, worried as she saw Kai cough up blood again and knees shaking again, threatening to make him lose balance again.
“I…..I’m f-fine.” Kai tried to act strong as he walked to Atsuko’s side and cut the ropes to free Atsuko from her binds.
“I- I w-will not g-go down that easily.” Toshi said and took out his gun and fire it towards Atsuko and Kai. Kai notice that Toshi was aiming at them through the blade of his Katana and quickly turn and use his body as a shield as he saw it too late. The bullet went start to Kai’s chest, if Kai hadn’t taken of the bulletproof vest, the bullet couldn’t have penetrated through his chest.
“KAI!!! ATSUKO!!! SHIT!!!!” The guys and Kaidou just arrived at the building, and sees Toshi down on the grounding just fired his gun. Then in a second they fired their guns and immobilize him down for good as they still need him alive for questionings.
“KAI!” Atsuko shouted as Kai suddenly fall down on top of her. Kaidou and the others quickly went to their side when they heard Atsuko’s panic and worried voice.
“KAI!!!” The boys shouted as they surround Kai and Atsuko.
“A-Atsu-ko, cough with blood* are…….you…….ok?”Kai asked as he coughed with blood.
“D-don’t worry about me, I’m fine!!!” Atsuko starting to panic and tears starts to fall on her cheeks.
“Thank God…..cough with blood* “Kai tried to give Atsuko the best smile that he could mustered.
“But….it looks like…..I won’t be able to keep…..my promise….cough with blood* this time.” with that said Kai finally collapse.
“KAI!!!”Atsuko cried out.
Chapter 30:
AT THE HOSPITAL
“Kai!!! Kai!!!” Atsuko keep calling Kai’s name as tears keeps flowing down on her cheeks and not letting go of his hand as the nurses’ rush him to the emergency room.
“You cannot go any further. Please wait out here.” The nurse told Atsuko as she still clinging on to Kai not wanting to let go of his hand as they wheel him inside.
“Atsuko…” Kaidou put both of his hands on Atsuko shoulder to support her.
“Please!!! Kai, PLEAS SAVE HIM!!!” Atsuko begged to Kuu’s father as he sees him getting inside the emergency room.
“Of course will……”The doctor, Kukai, Kuu’s father reassured Atsuko
“What is happening today, first my son got a really bad cut on his legs and now Kai. You will tell me what’s going on Kaidou.” Mr. Minegishi shakes his head in disbelief, as he didn’t expect his son or even Kai to get injured this bad.
“I know, Kukai. I’ll explain everything later but now, please focus on saving my son’s life.”Kaidou said. And without any more delays Mr. Minegishi entered the ER.
“What’s going in here?” Mariko-sama breathing heavily, behind her is Rena who she bumped into as she rush down to get to the emergency when Riku called her as they transported Kai back in Tokyo. She looked at Kaidou, then to Acchan then back to Kaidou again. Kaidou sigh as he walks to Mariko-sama side
“Kai’s been shot, he’s being operated inside right now.” Kaidou explain. He so looked dead tired and his clothes are so dirty and messy from the battle.
“Oh my god!!!” Both Mariko-sama and Rena covered their mouth with their hand. Tears are threatening to fall on Mariko-sama’s cheeks as she heard the news.
“How’s Kuu and Jun doing?” Kaidou asked the girls.
“Kuu’s fine now, his wounds aren’t that fatal. He’s sleeping right now. And he’s a lot better than…….”Mariko-sama couldn’t finish her sentence.
“……Jun’s….still the same. He still hasn’t awakened …….”Rena sadly said.
“It’s good to hear that Kuu is fine….and don’t worry about Jun, he’s a strong kid…..”Kaidou gave Rena a weakly smile.
“Mariko….. Can I leave things in here and Atsuko in your care for just a minute? I just need to make a quick phone call.” Kaidou asked
“Of course uncle…..”Mariko-sama smiled to Kaidou. Rena walked to where the other girls are sitting, they exchanges some greeting, and Rena didn’t stay that long, as Jun’s mom left for a bit to attend some matters. So Rena left and went back to Jun’s room since no one’s there to look after him and she’s still worried about him.
“Atsuko-chan, I’m just going to call your aunt ok. I’ll be back in a minute.” Kaidou kneel down in front of Atsuko who’s sitting on the bench just outside the emergency room. Atsuko didn’t respond as she’s spacing out and lost in her thought.
“Don’t worry about Atsuko, Uncle Kaidou. We are here to watch her. We won’t leave her alone.” Yukirin reassured him. Kaidou nodded to Yukirin then excuse himself as he called the others and Minako to inform them what happened as he suddenly left midway during the big 7 meeting/reunion with the exception of Maeda Azuma and Kukai ……..
“DOCTOR! The patient’s heartbeat is rapidly decreasing.” The nurse who’s checking Kai’s status on the medical monitor alarmed the doctor on what’s happening to Kai right now just seconds later after the operation.
“Get the defibrillator now! Hurry!” Kukai ordered as he watches Kai’s heartbeat now completely gone.
“Hurry!” Kukai shouted. Once the nurse got it, she quickly switch it on and pressed it against Kai’s chest sending shock to his body but still no heartbeat.
“Again!” Kukai order and the nurse keeps repeating it again and again as Kukai instruct her to do.
“Sir….” the nurse called and looked at him with a sad look.
“No, we can’t give up, now! Not now!!!Not tomorrow!!! Not ever!!!!” Kukai said then give Kai the CPR
“Sir…..” The head nurse called Kukai after doing countless of CPR and defibrillation on Kai
“I know……..” Kukai sighs in defeat. He waited for a bit to gathered up all his courage and strength and then walks towards the door.
When Atsuko and the others heard the sound of the door opening, they quickly stood up and went to Kukai’s side as he walked out of the emergency room. As Kukai looked at each one of them, his resolution and strengths starts to drain out of him as he dreads their reaction for the bad news that’s his about to tell them.
“Kukai how’s the operation? How’s Kai doing?” Kaidou asked with a bit of impatience to Kukai the moment he saw him came out of the emergency room, just right after he’s done talking to Minako.
“T-the operation, was a success. We’ve manage to take out the bullets that got stuck on his chest.” Kukai only answered Kaidou’s first question.
“So can we see him now?! He’s fine now right?” Atsuko asked with a relief look on her face.
“About that……..”Kukai said as he tries to think for a better way of saying the bad news, though no matter how much nicely said the bad news is, it’s still won’t change the fact that it’s not pleasant to hear something like that in the ear.
“No! No! No! NO!!!!! He promised me!” Atsuko starts to realize what Kukai’s about to say. She didn’t wait for him to say it and let herself in inside the emergency room. Kaidou, Kukai and the others couldn’t really stop Atsuko, so they just let her go.
Mariko-sama fainted but it’s a good thing that Riku and Tomo were able to catch her and they gently guide her to the bench for her to sit.
Kaidou too looks like about to fall but tried to stay strong.
“Kukai, tell me everything.” Kaidou weakly said
“Ok….” Kukai explain to Kaidou what happen and he silently listens to him
“Kai, wake up! Wake up!” Atsuko shaking Kai’s body to wake him up and tears began to flow out again
“You promise me! You promise!” Atsuko shouting at Kai’s lifeless body as she continues to shook him
“You said you’ll always be by my side, to protect me! You said you will never make me cry!!!” Atsuko continues to shout at him
“Don’t do this Kai! Please! After all this years that we were separated and Just when I finally found you again! Kai wake up, please!! Don’t
leave me!!!” Atsuko continues to wail
“KAI!!!!!!” Atsuko shouted as loud as she can.
AT SOME FAR, FAR AWAY PLACE
Kai suddenly woke up and find himself alone in what seems to look like a world of nothingness. He has run to all directions trying to find his way out of the place but to no avail, found no exit.
“KAI!!!!” Atsuko called him. Her voice is full of pain, and agony...
“ATSUKO! “Kai shouted back to her though of course she can’t hear him, but it seems there are exceptions to that when a bright lightly suddenly shone, making him back away to closed and covered his eyes with his arm as the light was so bright that if you look directly at it, it could make you blind.
When the bright light disappeared, Kai put down his arm that cover his eyes and slowly open his eyes to see what was that bright light was. As he opens his eyes, he’s jaw dropped in amazement as he sees someone, no not just someone, people that he knew. His mom with his sister cradle on her arms, Atsuko parents and a guy crouch down back facing him just few feet away from them are all standing where the bright light appeared seconds ago.
“MOM!!!!” Kai quickly went to his mom side and give her a crashing hug
“Hello sweetie…”Kai’s mom sweetly greeted her son.
“Mom, I missed you so much! Why did you have to leave me and dad alone! Why!” Kai break down and cried onto his mother’s embrace.
“Shhh….sweetheart…I’m sorry about that….But this was all meant to happen. It was my fate.” Kai’s mother soothes him
“Kai….” Atsuko’s voice echoes in the world of nothingness as she continues to call Kai.
“Atsuko….” Kai remembered about her when he heard her calling him again. Then suddenly an image of Atsuko crying while she keeps on calling him as she clinging onto Kai’s lifeless body appeared out of nowhere.
“I-is that me?” Kai asked them as he watches his lifeless body and Atsuko.
“Yes Kai. That’s you. Do you remember what happened?” Kai’s mom asked
“I-I…….I was shot…..I was trying to protect Atsuko….I…”Kai tried his best to remembered what happen then the guy who’s squatting down
caught Kai’s attention as he looked somewhat familiar to him. Kai made his way towards the guy.
“You should go back….Atsuko-san needs you, Kai.” Jun suddenly spoke when Kai’s about to tap him on his shoulder
“Jun!!! What the hell are you doing here?!” Kai shocked to see his buddy here in this god know where they are.
“Don’t you know how worried we are, especially Rena about you!” Kai added.
“I could say the same thing to you Kai.”Jun simply said
“I’m sorry to interrupt you two, but Kai; you can’t stay in here….. in this dimension. ….You too Jun-kun, you two are not part of this world. You two need to go back.” Kai’s mom interrupted them.
“Yes, you youngsters are still young and you still have something left to do.”Minami agrees with Kai’s mother.
“Kai…….”Atsushi who hasn’t spoken since they pop out of nowhere finally speak. Kai turn to looked at him and notice the look on Atsushi’s face.
“Kai, I want you to promise me something.”Atsushi looked at Kai in the eyes as he speaks.
“What is it uncle?”Kai asked
“I want you to promise me, to never let my daughter cry like that ever again.”Atsushi gave Kai a look like his about to kill him for making his precious Atsuko cry.
“I promise sir! “Kai looked into Atsushi’s eyes and vow to him.
“Good, I will take upon your word. This is a promise between a father and his son.”Atsushi finally smiled to Kai.
“Well then Kai….I am leaving my daughters, especially Atsuko in your care.” Atsushi added.
Kai bowed down to Kaidou as to respect him then turn his attention to Jun.
“Come on Jun! You and I can’t go to that place yet! The people we love are waiting for us!” Kai grab Jun’s arms and pulled him up.
“Kai-chan, please tell my daughters that we love them, that we are always thinking and looking out for them.”Minami getting teary as she speaks. Atsushi wrap his arms around his wife’s shoulder to comfort her.
“Kai, sweetheart, even if I am dead now, I am always thinking of you and your father. I will always look out for you two…..Now go sweetheart. Always remember, mom loves you.” Kai’s mom said as Kai and Jun slowly disappearing.
“Kai, don’t let me down. Take care of my girls for me.” Atsushi added before Kai and Jun fully fade away.
AT THE HOSPITAL
Beep…..Beep….. Beep
The sound of the apparatus that’s still attached to Kai’s body suddenly beeped, as it detected Kai’s heartbeat. Then it followed by a loud sucking sound as Kai finally came back from his journey to the world of the dead. He’s still isn’t fully awake but he can feel Atsuko holding onto his hand.
Atsuko’s eyes still wet from the tears went wide as she tried to grasp in what’s happening right now. She looked at Kai and at the monitor back and forth then called out the doctor not leaving Kai’s side.
“DOCTOR!!!! It’s Kai!!!!” Atsuko called out Kukai as loud as she can, while the nurse check up on Kai
“A-Atsu-ko…….”Kai weakly and almost in a whisper called Atsuko. Kukai and his team quickly went to Kai’s side as they check him up.
“Kai…..” Atsuko starts to cry again but this time, its tears of joy.
“Miss, I’m really sorry to say this but I must ask you to leave.” The nurse carefully said to Atsuko, though she doesn’t really want to ask her to leave and seeing how Atsuko hold onto Kai’s hands she couldn’t really have the heart to ask her to leave but since it’s the rule, it must
be followed. Atsuko ignored the nurse and just continue to hold Kai’s hand
“Atsuko-chan, don’t worry Kai’s fine now… and his life is out of danger…”Kukai tried to reason Atsuko but Atsuko just ignore him too.
“A-Atsu-ko….I-I-I’ll keep…..m-my p-promise…”Kai speaks again but he words are barely understandable, then he’s eyes slowly closing as he’s still weak and tired.
“Ok…I will just wait outside….”Atsuko give Kai a kiss on his forehead then turn her attention to Kukai and the nurses.
“I’m sorry, I’ll leave now….Please make sure that he is ok, Mr. Minegishi.”Atsuko apologized
“Please call me Uncle Kukai, Atsuko-chan. Of course, I will personally make sure that Kai will be ok.” Kukai said.
“Please, Uncle Kukai, then I will take my leave now.”Acchan then left the room and went outside to where Kaidou and the others are waiting for her.
AT JUN’S PRIVATE ROOM
At the same time, at the other side of the hospital, in Jun’s private room, Rena just get back after seeing how her friends are, when Jun made a movement, and it soon follow by, him slowly waking up from his deep slumber. Rena starts crying as she went to the telephone and called out for the nurse and doctor, and just seconds later, they came rushing in together with Jun’s mom who saw them running down the hallway as she made her way to her son’s private room.
“Jun!!!” Rena weeps as she holds Jun’s hand on the other side of the bed, while the doctor and nurses examine him.
“JUN! My Baby!!!” Jun’s mom wails and drops her bag in surprise as she saw her son, finally awake. She swiftly went to Jun’s side and caresses her son.
“T-this is unbelievable….”The nurse couldn’t believe what she is witnessing right now.
“Yes, this is really a miracle…”The doctor said as he does his check up on Jun
Jun who’s finally wide awake and has gotten used to the bright light tried to move his hands to wipe away the tears on Rena’s face but as off right now he doesn’t really have much strength on him, so he only manage to lift his hand which Rena grab and softly rub her cheeks on his hands as she stares at her beloved.
“Good morning, sleepy head.” Rena greeted Jun and at the same time gives him the best smile ever.
“Yes, good morning, Rena-chan…”Jun upon seeing Rena’s smile suddenly give him strength and felt more alive.
Few Day’s Later
“W-where…….am……I?”Kai ask in a drowsy tone.
He’s eyes turn to the side, towards the window glass wall as the sunlight that’s reflecting on the glass caught his attention. The glass wall is overseeing the beautiful garden, with lots of different kinds of flowers and plants that help enlighten the bored patients. He then turns his attention and scanned big and spacious room, he saw flowers, gifts and get well soon letters sitting on the corner just outside the washroom.
“Kai…you promised.”
Kai looked down to a chair next to him where Atsuko’s sitting and while her head is resting on his bed. He smile when he saw Atsuko’s angelic face but tears starts to falling down on the corner of Atsuko’s eyes as she still continues to sleep. Kai felt like someone stab him as he watches Atsuko sleep. He gently wipes the tears on his girlfriend’s eyes, and then he softly caresses Atsuko’s cheeks, which makes her woke up
“KAI!” Atsuko stand up from her seat and almost shouted when she saw Kai finally awake and looking a lot better compared to the night when he was on the brink of dying
“Good morning, angel.” Kai greeted Atsuko with his best smile, like usual. Like he was never really shot and almost died.
“Don’t you ‘good morning’ me! Didn’t you know I was so worried about you?!” Atsuko angrily shouted and at the same time getting teary again as she recalls last night’s events.
“Hey, I’m sorry…”Kai reached out to Atsuko so that he could hug and comfort her girlfriend. Atsuko give a hesitant looked at Kai
“Please?”Kai cutely asked. Atsuko couldn’t resist it anymore and gave in. As Kai hug her, Atsuko couldn’t help but cry out more.
“Hey, it’s alright, I’m alright. I’m sorry…. I didn’t mean to scare you like that. I’m sorry…I’m ok now.” Kai repeatedly apologize as he moves his hand in a comforting way to calm her down.
“Something like that won’t kill me! If they try to take me away from you, they have to do better than that. And besides I know I can count on you to pull me back.” he added.
“It was because of you that I manage to pull through. It’s because I keep hearing your voice, calling out my name over and over again, that I manage to find my way back to you again. I promise I won’t let something like that ever happen to me, to you, to us ever again….”Kai answered Atsuko’s unspoken question as she looked at him confused.
“Of course, that won’t ever happen again. I won’t ever leave your side again, no matter what!”Atsuko nodded as she wipe her tears away.
“Yes of course and besides I made a promise to your parents, especially to your dad.”Kai said with full of resolve.
“What do you mean? What promise? My parents?”Atsuko curiously asked
“Yah, when I was dying… I-I met your parents and my mom and baby sister too again.”Kai started to explain
“Something like that is impossible; you must be dreaming Kai…..” Atsuko not really believing what Kai had just said to her.
“I don’t know, maybe but to me it felt so real. I know this sound so unbelievable, so I won’t ask you to believe it, but just hear me out, Ok?”Kai said
Atsuko nodded in reply. So Kai told Atsuko all the things he could remember during that bizarre event.
“So, just like I promise to you, I also promise it to your parents, especially to your dad, that I will never make you cry like that again…..I really love you.”
“So uhm….will you…will you marry me Atsuko?” Kai nervously proposed
Atsuko froze in her sit, her eyes went wide. She tried to speak but no words came out. Tears starts streaming down her cheeks.
“I know this may not be the most romantic way of proposing…. I don’t even have a ring with me. But please don’t cry. Come on, I hate it when you cry…You don’t have to say ‘yes’. I can wait for you. It’s just I almost died and I-“ Kai suddenly got nervous and start speaking so fast he is almost rumbling in his talk. Atsuko who regain her composure grabbed Kai’s face and turned it to her to try and to get Kai’s attention as he continues to rumble
“KAI!!!” Atsuko shouted when she finally had enough of Kai’s rumbling
“Wh-What!!”Kai was startled
“Of course! I will marry you Takahashi Kai!” Acchan said as she leans in and gave Kai a breath taking kiss…..
After the incident, Toshi was brought in for some questions regarding the Masukuda family but before they could question him, Toshi committed suicide by slitting his throat with a small knife that the guards wasn't able to take away. A few weeks later Kai and Jun was who were with their fiances that wouldn't leave their side was finally able to get out of the hospital. With the extensive regular check-ups, the two were finally deemed physically, mentally, emotionall, psychologically healthy. They all went back to school like as if nothing big had happen and everything is well, as well as it could be like for the BIG SEVEN and their friends

This Fic is almost a year now from when I started it. Being inspired by one of Keichan's fic, this story was born and now that this story is finally finish, I Thank you all you read and support my fic even though my writing and story wasn't that good, I really really Thank you
When I got the inspiration for this story, I fully know what I would be writing and what would I be doing. The whole plot, theme, the characters of the story, everything was already on my mind just waiting for me to write it down. But it soon change as the time passes by, things change, my feelings about this story change, my view about the story change, so before I fully ruined this story (If it isn't ruined yet?) I finally decided to end it.
Some of you might think that the ending might be rushed, lacking or even dissappointing, which is kinda true. So I am sorry if you didn't like the ending. To be honest there was suppose to be a sequel but as I stated above, my feeling about this story change but if there's someone who wants to write the sequel, feel free to do so....
anyways I hope with this little message, you were able to understand even just for abit my thoughts and how I feel about this story as true to be told, I'm not really good at trying to express my thought and feeling into words....
