Finally an update~~
I've been feeling a little bit lazy lately, lolol~ Sorry. 8D
Warning: Dull Chapter ahead.
Chapter 6
“It’s me, Center!”
Mayu’s eyes widened as soon as the girl introduced herself- it was clear in her face that she was surprised at the unexpected turn of event, but at the same time, happy as well. Still sitting down in her seat in silence, Yuki watched the two quietly while picking up a piece of fries and dipping it in the vanilla sundae. Her brows furrowed down not long after as she continued on observing the two- both of them have been staring at each other for a long while now, and the girl was still holding her hand out to Mayu, as if she was willing to wait even for a year just to shake hands with her.
Yuki sighed before propping the fries in her mouth. Kids these days, they sure are difficult to understand.
“Ah- Ah, Center…” Mayu finally talked after her long pause and hurriedly took the newcomer’s hand. They both beamed at each other happily, “So we finally meet, huh? And to think that we only chatted yesterday as well, it seems like fate brought us here, huh?”
No, I brought you here, Mayu. Yuki thought to herself while eating yet another piece of fries. She placed her elbow on the table not long after, her chin resting down on her palm.
“How did you know that I’m Little Mouse though? Ah, but before that, sit down, sit down.” Mayu gestured at the seat beside her before looking at Yuki with a ‘can she?’ look plastered on her face. Seeing as she had no other choice anyway, Yuki simply nodded her head in silence.
“Ah, thank you.” The girl named Center gave her a quick cat-like smile before sitting down on the said chair, settling herself for awhile before finally answering Mayu’s question. “Your profile had a real picture of you, right? I checked it before both of us logged off. So after taking a quick glance at you, I immediately knew that you were indeed Little Mouse.”
Looking at a stranger’s profile even though it was their first time chatting with each other? What a weird kid. Yuki once again thought quietly as she picked her soda up, taking a sip on it through its straw. Well I’m not the one to say that anyway, I mean, I did check her profile too, after all…
“Oh right, I’m sorry for disturbing you two.” Center bowed her head down a little, “Um… Could you be Little Mouse’s sister?”
The older female coughed the soda she just drank out, startling both Mayu and the Center girl, “N-No, of course not!” She exclaimed in between her coughing. Did she really look that old to be Mayu’s sister? After finally calming herself down, she added, “I’m just her fellow worker and regular costumer in a certain café, that’s all… I guess an acquaintance is the right word for it.”
For some odd reason, Mayu couldn’t help herself from frowning after hearing Yuki’s answer. And this didn’t go unnoticed by her new chatmate.
“Really? But I doubt that mere acquaintances would eat together in a fast fo-”
“A-Anyway!” Mayu coughed and cut in before Center could finish. She smiled at the two of them awkwardly soon after, “Come to think of it, we never really told each other our real names, did we Center? My name, aside from ‘Little Mouse’ is Wa-”
“-tanabe Mayu, I know. It was in your profile too.” Center smiled at her, “My name is Matsui Jurina.”
“I really should stop writing real information in my profiles…” Mayu muttered to herself quietly before beaming back a smile at Jurina, she then gestured at Yuki, “This is Kashiwagi Yuki. Like what she just said, she’s temporarily working in the café I work in, but before that happened; she was just our regular, and sometimes only, costumer.”
Both Jurina and Yuki turned their heads at each other at the same time, slightly bowing their heads down as a form of greeting.
Jurina’s cat-like smile rose up on her face once again, “Eh, so Mayu-… You don’t mind me calling you that do you?” Mayu shook her head, much to the girls delight, “So, Mayu works in a café? Is it around here? What’s the name, I might go there sometime. Ah, and feel free to call me by my name as well.”
“Not that far from here, to be honest. It’s called ‘The Café’, a weird name, I know, but blame my manager for it. I’ll be waiting for your visit then, Jurina.”
“I’ll be there before you know it!” The girl grinned.
This girl is too tensed… And talks a lot. Yuki, for the nth time of the day, thought to herself, her chin once again resting under her palm as she scanned around the fastfood restaurant just to kill her boredom. Watching these two teenagers talk enthusiastically made her feel like she was on the third wheel- so she might as well entertain herself by observing the people around her, right?
Before Yuki even noticed it, an hour had passed by already- and the food she bought for herself and Mayu were almost drained out by the latter one and her newly found friend. Yuki barely even ate any of the fries she’s been craving for!
Furrowing her brows down, the writer shifted her eyes from her fries towards the two- just to see them still talking about this famous anime called “K-On!” and a character named “Akiyama Mio”. Really, kids will forever stay as kids, won’t they?
“Mayu, I’m heading home now.” Yuki said in chorus just find herself ignored by the two. With her frown growing even more, she stood up from her seat, grabbed her bag, and walked out of the fastfood restaurant. “And to think that I bought those things for her as well… What was I even thinking?” She muttered to herself as soon as she took a step outside the restaurant’s door.
She herself wasn’t sure why, but to be ignored just because of a newcomer… It made her emotions stir inside of her.
Not in one of those ‘Cheesy Emotion Stir Moments’, of course, but the one where it was like it was your first day of period. That’s right. That’s how she was feeling right now.
With her feet dragging her straightly towards her Home, Yuki pulled out her phone. She wasn’t in the mood to go and buy coffee anymore. Nor was she in the mood to even go back to the café to continue on being a ‘temporary waitress’. Hell, she wasn’t even sure whether she would get paid or not!
“Seriously… What was I thinking…” She muttered to herself again before pressing the buttons on her phone.
Sasshi, can you tell Yuko I’m not feeling well? I have to go home and take a rest… Sorry…
Without even giving it a second read, the writer pressed the send button.
She then halted in her tracks, pressed her phone close and shifted her eyes to the gate standing right beside her. She was about to ask herself since when did her house become so close from the fastfood restaurant- but she was too ‘tired’ to even give such a trivial thing a damn and simply marched in her home.
For the first time, Yuki didn’t take her shoes off by her house’s entrance, nor did she even shout ‘I’m home’ despite knowing that nobody would give her a reply. She just waltzed in her house, dropped her bag lazily on the sofa by the living room and dropped herself on her bed as soon as she was inside her room.
She was tired, even though she wasn’t even sure why…

With herself sitting down right in front of her computer, Yuki clicked the browser on her desktop and automatically logged inside the dating site she came to hate. She cast her eyes down to the time on the lower right corner of the screen soon after.
1:46AM, it stated.
That’s right, thanks to her accidentally falling asleep on her bed with her shoes still on, time passed by her quickly and changed to 1:46- scratch that, 1:47AM.
You have joined a Quick Chatroom
Yuki lifted a brow up as she read the message which popped out on the chatroom she entered. It was her first time encountering it- all this time, she ignored the ‘Join a Quick Chat’ button just beside the ‘Search’ button. The reason? Easy, because for the past few days ever since she tried this online dating site thing, the chatroom she’s been visiting was the one named ‘Little Mouse’.
She wasn’t even aware that she placed the said chatroom in her Chat List.
The writer figured out earlier that Mayu wouldn’t be on at this time anymore, so she decided to try out new stuffs, clicking the first button that came to her vision as soon as she logged in- which was the said Quick Chat thing.
The Sadist (1:49AM): Oh look, a new comer.
Yuki frowned a little. What a warm welcome , she thought to herself sarcastically before waiting for another message to pop out- and in no time, it did.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:50AM): Hello there, Black-san! Are you like, a black American or something? Because that would be cool.
She was close to facepalming herself… Just why is it that whenever someone would read her chatname, they would as her whether she’s a black American or not? Bunch of racists.
Black (1:50AM): No, I’m not. I’m a normal Japanese, thank you very much.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:51AM): Ahh, so sad.
The Sadist (1:51AM): Idiot, why would a black American be in a Japanese online dating site anyway? He or she wouldn’t understand a thing.
“Well at least one of them thinks straight.” Yuki muttered to herself in relief.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:52AM): Ah, but what if it’s a black American who studied Japanese?
The Sadist (1:52AM): I’m starting to wonder whether you’re a slightly retarded kid now…
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:52AM): Sadist. Well anyway, welcome, Black! How come you ended up to MY chatroom, hm? I’m sure I hid this place from the list of chats out there…
Black (1:53AM): Quick Chat button.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:53AM): Hey, Sadist.
The Sadist (1:53AM): What?
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:54AM): This girl types just like Gekikara, doesn’t she? You know, short replies and all…
The Sadist (1:54AM): That’s just you. You reply too long, that’s why the others’ replies look “SHORT” to you.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:55AM): But you don’t reply shortly on me!
The Sadist (1:55AM): Well, that’s because I’m trying to talk in the same retarded level as you. If I talk too smart-like now, you wouldn’t understand me. Right?
NidMoarScreenTaiu (1:56AM): Are you calling me Stupid?!
Once again, Yuki furrowed her brows. For the two of them to be able to argue like this yet still decide to continue on chatting instead of leaving the room out of frustration, these two must be really good friends. “Who’s Gekikara though?”
Seeing as there was no use wondering that to herself, she typed it down.
The Sadist (1:56AM): You were born stupid.
Black (1:56AM): Who’s Gekikara?
Gekikara (1:57AM): Ah, that would be me.
“Well that wasn’t obvious…”
The Sadist (1:57AM): Geki? How are you feeling now?
Gekikara (1:58AM): I’m feeling fine now. My head’s still spinning. But only a little now.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:58AM): See what I mean by short replies? Hey Gekikara, is Black like, your twin or something?
Black (1:59AM): I don’t know who she is.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (1:59AM): Figured.
The Sadist (2:00AM): Liar.
Yuki blinked repeatedly as she read the time written just beside The Sadist’s name. It was already two in the morning?
Black (2:01AM): Sorry, I have to go now.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (2:01AM): Orredi?!
Black (2:02AM): Yes. I have to sleep.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (2:02AM): What is sleep?
The Sadist (2:03AM): Sleep is something we, normal people with life, do.
NidMoarScreenTaimu (2:03AM): SHUT UP YOU SADIST!
Gekikara (2:04AM): Actually, I think I have to sleep now too…
NidMoarScreenTaimu (2:05AM): YOU PEOPLE ARE BORING! D8
The Sadist (2:05AM): Goodbye then, Geki, Black.
Black (2:06AM): Goodbye.
Not wanting to read any more of “NidMoarScreenTaimu’s” rage, the writer hurriedly clicked the leave button and logged out without waiting for any replies, sighing to herself in relief after knowing that she was free from that place now.
That sure was one lively chat.
And thankfully, it was free from young perverted girls.
A small smile slowly crept up on her face.
…She wouldn’t mind meeting those people again, if possible.

Yawning for the hundredth time of the day, Yuki continued in lazily dragging her feet towards the café- which wasn’t that far anymore as she could almost see its roof now. Dark circles were visible right under her eyes, and it had small bags at that- a sign that she wasn’t able to sleep that much.
That’s right, for some odd reason, even though the poor writer had already settled herself on her bed comfortably; her brain just wouldn’t shut down. Sure, her body was dead tired, but her mind was filled with thoughts- like who the people she just chatted with were, whether Mayu had delivered the coffee back to the café or not, or even how Mayu and Jurina reacted when she just left so suddenly.
And then, the next thing she knew, the sun was already up.
The writer actually considered skipping her ‘work’ today, but knowing that she’s actually working for Sashihara’s sake of being able to buy the ticket for her beloved concert, she decided to force herself up on her bed.
She was starting to regret it though.
Getting the urge to yawn again, Yuki lifted her hand up over her mouth and shut her eyes close-
“S-Sorry!” She immediately blurted out after noticing that she bumped onto someone, her eyes opening widely as she hurriedly held her hand out to the other girl on the ground. “I’m sorry; I wasn’t looking on my way! Are you okay?”
“A-Ah, no, no… I’m fine…” The girl on the ground smiled at her brokenly before taking her hand. “I should be the one apologizing; I was the one who bumped onto you, after all… I… was dazing while walking, sorry…”
Returning the smile apologetically, Yuki carefully pulled the girl up and slightly bowed down, her hand still locked on the stranger’s, “No, really, I’m the one who closed her eyes while walking, so I’m the one to apologize. I’m really sorry, Miss.”
“What’s this, what’s this~? A girl bowing down in front of another girl while holding hands? And in the middle of the street too.” A familiar voice made Yuki frown a little as she stood straight again. She reluctantly turned around to see who it was soon after- Mayu... and Jurina? “Hello~ Yukirin~ who’s that? Your friend?”
Yuki locked her eyes on Jurina for awhile, and then glanced at the girl beside her. “She’s…” She furrowed her brows down, “She’s a really, really close friend of mine…”
I did warn you that it would be dull. 8D
