When episode 3 finished I kinda was all, "Hmmm... almost nothing happened."

We got to meet Kato Rena, Lemon(totally missed their names in all of two seconds they were on screen and almost never repeated in dialogue

) and Bunker (lol) and they pretty much did all of nothing in the episode, where we were treated to even more really slow exposition on Paru's character. Pick. Up. The. Pace. Please. However, we did at least see some interesting things from Komimi this time around. Her character saw the light painfully fast, but hey, I'll take any progress at this point.

I feel like they missed a big opportunity with Paru's solitary confinement. I'd have been fine if they spent the rest of the episode on it so that she at least gets more of a solid hint as to what happened to her and set up the rest of the series to tackle it and the prison head-on. We saw more hints, but nothing with dots connected.

Nantene needs to die.

The highlight of the episode was definitely Ranran/Bunko. Decent line delivery, excellent body language. Wao.

Sadly I found this episode to be pretty flat too. But at least it feels like things might start to move now. Too bad we have to wait until the Olympics are over to find out.

Very mixed feelings about this episode...

Good:
- A lot of Komimi. I love watching Kumi, so that's good.
- After all those annoying 'nantene' lines we finally got one funny joke out of it.

- Kato Rena looks gooood.
- Bunker is like the first 'proper' character in the way Gakuran, Black, Torigoya, etc. were.

Bad:
- Plot barely progresses
- Even though Lemon and Kato look good, they're nowhere near as interesting as for example the Kabuki Sisters or Sansho Shimai were.
- Fighting scenes are still boring, despite synchro moves.

Hmm... I guess there is still hope, but I will rate this episode a 5/10 again.
Yes, we got some cool new characters, but there was barely any exciting stuff in this episode.

Paruru has reached that Uee level of expression, where she has faces, but every face is basically "I don't know what emotion I'm trying to express." And her line deliveries are always so inappropriate in tone to the situation.

Yep, Shimada still my favorite member of Snake so far, and the one with the best line deliveries. (Or rather, the least unconvincing.

)

LOL Kanon managed to become even more annoying and hilarious at the same time. So fucking screechy.

And yay more picking on Nanashi! Kawaei's too adorable as a verbal punching bag.

Oba sure is making a good Shibuya sequel, down to that irritating slurring of every line. This episode does set Daasu up to be a mix of Shibuya and Sado, though, with no particular attachment to Komimi and a huge sense of responsibility to the team and devotion to Nobunaga.

I'm still getting that "rushed for time, no multiple takes" feel, because Kumi is nowhere as good as I know she can be. Her "ouch!" scene was alternatively hilarious and cringey-bad. Then, her scene with the dinner tray was on the verge of good, and then her scenes with Paru were nearly convincing, except for the editing, cinematography and Paruru's acting. Part of the reason the Nezumi breakdown at the end of S2 worked so well was because it was opposite Jurina, the two of them having really good chemistry together. The chosen camera angles for the rooftop scenes were also didn't effectively display Kumi's expressions.

LOL KOMIMI IS THE NEW GAKURAN!? But seriously, this storyline had the potential to be the most "justified" of all of the MG storylines, with Komimi having a really good backstory and developing dynamic with Paru, but the crunch for time meant that her conversion had to happen in all of five seconds and their interactions truncated for that annoying "Paru killed Keita lulz" scene. Hoping that the writing continues to improve like this, though, as it was still a marked improvement on the previous two eps. Ah well, S1 didn't really become good until Maeda started beating up the queens, and by that measure we still have our Sansho Sisters/Chokoku eps to go before then.

Hoping for more Uruseeyo!

Episode 3 thoughts

- I am ecstatic that this is Kumi centered episode, and it was nice to see her do something other than just being in the background and following everyone around. A little disappointed though that we didn't get to see her showdown with Bunker.
- Starting to warm up to Paruru just a little. She still looks like she's incredibly bored though, and her acting isn't that...great. But, she's nice to look at, and she actually looked shocked for once.
- I think it's safe to say at this point that the best actress out of all of them so far is Yuria. RanRan wasn't that bad either though.
- I really want to see Fresh Lemon just being badass and kicking some ass out there. I seriously hope they make an episode like this. Can you guys imagine Fresh Lemon as the new Gekikara? Imagine how hilarious that would be. Although, it's pretty obvious that her and Kato are meant to be similar to the Kabuki sisters. I can still dream.
- Kanon shouldn't talk, unless she's going to make a joke this.

Well, can't wait for the next episode. It's going to be awesome seeing the showdown between Paru/Daasu. Hopefully, they'll improve the cinematography for the fight scenes. I've been really disappointed at how those look compared to the first and second seasons.

Nothing really seemed to happen in this episode.

This whole Paru/Keita thing is boring me; so she really did kill him or not, might as well just tell us since it's not like it'll bring him back (though I believe she is framed). Bunker is an interesting character but she appeared so little in the episode, I'm disappointed in that; the way they played her up, I thought she was gonna be a small protagonist against Team Habu before we got to the main boss but if Komimi can beat her on her own just like that then what the heck? Besides the small moments with Tetsuo/Uruseyo, Kumi was the only thing making me get through this episode.

Also, Paru stands like a mannequin and it's weirding me out.

Wanna see the next episode already. /o/

After a brief re-skim of ep 2, I can say that the horrible acting comes in a few different varieties:

1. Decent expressions, AWFUL delivery of lines. Most of them fall under this, and so the episodes look so much better in animated gif form.

2. Okay delivery of lines, bland expressions. Yuria falls under this, her expressions don't reflect any kind of character at all, and her line delivery, although not bad to the point of drawing attention to its badness, doesn't have any sort of personality to it either. Because of that, I don't see Peace as a real person as much as an exposition mouthpiece, even though technically it's not as bad as, say, Maria's performance, where at least you can see what the character is supposed to be from her fumbles.
3. Nearly there. Sometimes it's worse to hear someone every-so-slightly out of tune, and it's a similar principle here. The disappointment from knowing that with just a little bit more of this or that, that Uruseeyo and Komimi would actually be up to par with S1, can be harsher than a performance like Kawaei's which is so bad that we end up forgiving most of it. Also, lol Kanon is here, too. Nantene is completely wasted potential, but if they keep coming up with fresh variations for the her gag like in ep 3 I'll at least get some amusement out of it.
4. Horrible delivery of lines, ill-fitting expressions. PARUUUUUU
5. Haaaaaaaammmmmmm. World's absolute largest hams. Here be all of the adult characters.

Starting to enjoy the camp value more for the characters in categories 1,3, and 5.

Episode 4 subtitles

Holy crap! Finally it all comes together! Great acting, plot progression, character development and the introduction of one of the new bosses. In addition, check out the super cool secret handshake by Haruu and Abe. The background music really adds to the atmosphere as well. Great episode!

NANTENE! Worst. Episode. Ever.

The only cool character so far, Bunker, became completely irrelevant in an instance. Annin looked sorta creepy, so there is still a glimpse of hope. Otherwise, just painful to watch throughout. I'd rather re-watch MG2 than this.

I give it a 3/10.

I like the Peace character, maybe not fit with the prison, but she's interesting..

After 4 episode, Nobunaga still mysterious..

I wonder, who's gonna be Nobunaga?

Well, still not a good episode. But it's the best episode for me so far. Because Annin is there

Team Mongoose, Daasu kick Paru, and Nantene scenes are the best for me.

And yeah, Paruru's acting still suck. IMO
