Yeah I wonder if the NY tabloids will instead focus on Dreamboat Jeter's clutch RBI single, which then set up what A-Rod shoulda done last October, goddamn it!!!

Something like that...

Round One goes to the Red Sox!  Rivera can't hold the lead in the 8th.  Even Captain Clutch couldn't do nattin' in the 9th.  A-Rod also choked in the 9th but y'all knew that would happen, right?

Damn, it's rough trying to follow a game online at a website that doesn't require the latest goddamn version of Flash!  But I found one: CBS Sportsline.  Pretty good coverage, runs smooth and easy-to-understand interface.

Win some lose some perhaps. A-Rod is hot! but Rivera is not!

I'd rather choose Rivera to be hot, cuz he's the closer

Newscaster of ESPN is asking Joe Torre's move:

1) Mo pitching on the 8th (after saying, he's a one innning pitcher for this season... except Boston perhaps?)
2) Phelps could have taken the last at bat instead of Long

Hmmm...

Back to back to back to back...

Boston completed the sweep against the Yanks on Sunday in Fenway for the first time since...  a LONG time ago.

Matsuzaka got a cheap win but that's baseball and things usually even out like this.

Adds another chapter to this red-hot rivalry -- I mean 2 chapters (the consecutive HR record and the sweep).

Yanks are pretty much getting beaten up because of how bad their pitching is. A-Rod, for all intensive purposes, have deflected a lot of the bad press of how the Yanks are doing because of how torrid he is.

Any predictions on how long he can keep this up? TO be honest, I think he will cool off sometime in next month or two.

I think he'll cool down in a couple weeks.  Of course he DOES have his health.  Has he ever been on the D.L.?  I read the list of hurt players: Iwamura, Gagne, King Felix...  on the DL you go.  Nick Swisher got hurt in today's ball game and B.J. Ryan was moved to the SIXTY (yes, 60) day disabled list, probably cause it takes longer to order a bionic elbow from Circuit City.

True. He can get hurt sometime. I don't know if he has been on the DL in his career. Regardless though, I would like to see him go on a run and try to beat the home run record at least.

How about all-time HR record by Bonds and season HR by A-Rod -- both in this season...

Nah, that's too early to tell.

Torii Hunter was hit in the mouth by Zack Greinke of the Royals in a game on Thursday.

His first reaction: pain,

His second: RUSH THE MOUND, MUTHAFUCKAH!!!

Third: pain...

My reaction: you got hit in the MOUTH, dummy!  Give it a rest!  It's not like you took a hockey stick to the groin.

Don't you guys think Dice-K is worth the money? I mean so far, he's no dominating but he's trying to give a message to everyone that he's in charge.

And just a sidebar, Boston is up 4-0 against Yankees. And he is 2-0 against NY.

He'll be worth the money if he wins about 15 games or so and helps Boston win the division. The Yankees usually find a way to turn things around but the Red Sox should win the division.

At last, the losing streak is over.
And at last, Mariano has his save.

The Other Japanese Red Sox

The Other Japanese Red Sox
"Unlike his fellow countryman, whose every step had been followed from the Far East to Red Sox Nation, Hideki Okajima arrived in relative anonymity. Lost in the shadow of Daisuke Matsuzaka, Okajima cutely embraced that role with what probably ranked as the quote of Spring Training from any Red Sox player."

"Okajima, contrary to some early misinformed speculation, did not come to Boston to be Matsuzaka's companion. In fact, the two did not even know each other until they became teammates this spring."

Following today's Seattle-Boston game online at the moment: tied 7-7, bottom 5th.  Sure looks like Matsuzaka is "pitching to the score," no?

How soon until the rabid Boston media turns on him?

Alfonso Soriano is starting to heat up. With the way the Cubs are pitching (go figure  ::) ), if the hitters can get their act together they'll be leading the division by the all-star break.
