Chapter 2
"Hey Sae gear up. We're heading out." Sayaka said.
"Where are we going?" Sae asked.
"Down town. You're about to do your first murder case."
"Ok."
Inside Sae wanted to scream with joy but that would be inappropriate. The murder was in a fourty year old woman's house. She lived alone and no one really talked to her. When Sae and Sayaka arrived at the scene, there was a small crowd and and police officers guarding the entrance. Sayaka and Sae showed the officers their badges and were allowed in.
"If you can't handle it then stay outside." Sayaka said.
Sae thought she was ready. But turns out she was wrong. When she walked in, the body was on the ground and part of the brain was exposed. This sight made Sae step out for a minute and lose her lunch. Then she came back in now ready.
"You ok?" Sayaka asked.
"Yeah. This is just so new to me and all." Sae said.
"Well if you're going to hurl again then stay outside."
"No I'm good."
"Alright. Well the woman is Sato Yuki. She's fourty years old and lives alone. No one reported any noises last night and there were no witnesses. The door lock was broken suggesting a break in and there's broken glass in the kitchen which means there could be another culprit. We'll have to wait for Rena to show up so they can take the body."
"Sorry I'm late."
Sae looked over and saw Rena and Jurina walk in. Behind her she could hear some whispers like "It's the angel of death" and "the devil's princess has arrived."
"Hey Sayaka why is everyone calling Rena an angel of death?" Sae asked.
"Rena is known for being kinda scary when she's around dead bodies." Sayaka explained.
"Hey Sayaka get over here!" Rena said.
"Have you determined a cause of death?" Sayaka asked.
"The indentation in the skull suggests a blunt weapon was used. I'd say a bat but I'll have to take the body back to the mourge for better examination." Rena said.
"Alright then we'll leave you to it. Sae let's look around and see if you can find anything."
"Ok."
Sae walked into the kitchen where the window was broken. While examining the area, Sae noticed something sticking out in the sink. In the sink was a rock. Sae put on a glove and then picked up the rock.
"Hey Sayaka!"
Sayaka came running in.
"You think we can get a finger print off this rock?" Sae asked.
"I think so."
Sayaka pulled out a small tube with black powder. She then took a brush dabbed the rock. A couple seconds later a finger print popped up.
"Good job Sae. Bag it and we'll take back to head quarters. You're doing pretty good Sae keep it up." Sayaka said.
Sae felt pretty proud of herself for finding it. Back at head quarters, Sae and Sayaka went to go see how Rena was doing.
"Find anything?" Sayaka asked.
"I found metal shards in the head that I sent up to Yukirin. I also found impression marks on her neck suggesting a struggle." Rena said.
"Anything else?"
"No but could you go check on Yukirin. She should have the results soon."
"Sure Sae you go. I want to look at the body more." Sayaka said.
"No problem!"
Sae felt delighted now that she could leave the cold creepy mourge and see Yukirin. Sae walked into the lab and saw Yukirin working at her desk. Sae thought it would be cute to see how she reacted if she snuck up on her from behind. Sae carefully made her way to Yukirin and was about to pounce. But then suddenly something grabbed her from behind and dragged her off the side. Sae turned around and saw Mayuyu giving her a cold glare.
"What do you think you're doing?" Mayuyu said in a cold voice.
"I was gonna sneak up behind Yukirin and hug her." Sae said.
Mayuyu grabbed Sae by her collar and pulled her closer to her.
"Listen here and listen good. I don't care if you're new or not but no one touches Yukirin but me. If you do I will personally make sure you wind up on the FBI and CIA's most wanted list. Do you understand?!" Mayuyu said with anger in her tone.
At one point Sae thought Mayuyu's eyes were glowing red. Sae just nodded her head hoping she would let go.
"Good. Then get back out there and if you do anything funny you'll regret it."
Mayuyu let go and Sae ran back out for her life.
"Oh Sae I didn't even see you come in. We were talking to Mayuyu?" Yukirin asked.
"Uh yeah you could say that." Sae said trying to keep her distance away from Yukirin knowing Mayuyu was probably watching her.
"Did Sayaka send you here?"
"Yeah did you get anything on the finger prints and metal shards?"
"Yeah the print belonged to a Ito Hiroshi and the metal shards matched the metal used in baseball bats. Here's Ito-san's address." Yukirin said.
"Thanks well I better get going. Bye!"
Sae ran out of the lab feeling like Mayuyu was targeting her. Sae made a note to herself that Mayuyu was dangerous. Sae and Sayaka went to Ito-san's house to question him. However, there was no need for questioning. When they arrived, they found him with blood all over his clothes and a bat. He saw Sae and Sayaka and started running.
"Sae you go around back and I'll take the front!" Sayaka said.
Sae ran around the house to the back door where her was possibly heading to. Sayaka was right and here he came right in front of Sae. Sae tackled him to the ground and stuggled to keep him down.
"Nice Sae!" Sayaka said as she handcuffed him.
"Ito Hiroshi you are under arrest for the murder of Sato Yuki. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can or will be used against you in court."
Sayaka shoved Hiroshi into the car and they drove him down to the station. Sayaka was handeling all the paper work while Sae ran to the break room to get some tea.
"Hey I heard you solved your first case."
Sae turned around and saw Takamina staring at her.
"Yeah. To be honest it was kinid of easy though." Sae said.
"How did the murder take place?" Takamina asked.
"Ito-san had a grudge against Yuki for taking her job he wanted. So he threw a rock and broke the window in the kitchen. While Yuki was distracted with the window, Ito-san broke the lock and rushed in. There was a struggle but then in the end, Ito-san finished her with a blow to the head with a bat."
"That's sad. Well good job. Keep up the good work. Oh and no matter how easy a case is, always expect the worst."
"Understood."
"Well if you excuse me I will be leaving. I promised Acchan I'd take her out for dinner."
The small captain excused herself and left. But then a couple minutes later Yukirin came up.
"Hey congradulations on solving your first case!" she said.
"Thanks." Sae said.
"We should go out and celebrate. Are you free tonight?"
Before Sae could answer her question, she felt the piercing glare of a familiar cyborg. Sae looked over and saw Mayuyu glaring at her. Fearing of what would happen, Sae said she was busy.
"Aww that's too bad. Well maybe next time." Yukirin said.
"Maybe maybe not." Sae said to herself.
"Well I'll see you later!"
Yukirin walked over and hugged Sae. Sae couldn't help but enjoy the hug while it lasted. She knew she would get it from Mayuyu. Turns out Sae was right. The next day, a bunch of creepy otaku's showed up wanting to meet Sae. Someone had photo copied her face on a otaku dating website and she became an instant hit will all the otakus. Sae knew who did this and was no fully aware of the wrath of an angry cyborg.
