Chapter 28 part 1
* Two weeks later.
“So, nothing left, right?” I asked her while looking around the room, checking if we left something behind, with the new Rappappa helping us and Kokabuki. After two long weeks, finally the Doctor let them out. She looked much better now. The bruises in her face were gone, her broken nose has healed completely, so does the bruises on her back. She only needs to be careful with the stitches on her abs, but other than that…
“Yeah… I believe that’s all.” She said while checking the room too.
Youran and Shaku were helping us packing, especially Shaku, she was a big help, didn’t know she was so good at small detail, like how to fold and arranging the stuff inside the bag so that it was tidier and took less space, and she even helped us checking the room one more time. Thanks to her, the packing was easier and faster. While Youran… well… she did helped, but….
I glanced at Youran who’s fussing over Kokabuki, saying that Kokabuki wasn’t well enough, so she shouldn’t carry heavy stuff on her own. Hm… looks like we’ve got another couple in the making. Tomo and Shaku didn’t even saying anything and by the way they act like nothing unusual happened, it’s seemed like this has going on for quite a while. Well… I think it’s time to tease my favorite friend/enemy, or I should say, my would-be-sister-in-law… in a way. I grinned and waiting for the right moment while watching at them carefully. But, before I get the right moment, my ear was being pulled by Tomo.
“I know what you’re thinking.” She whispered to me, threateningly, “but just drop it for now. Don’t say anything!”
I frowned at her and whispered back at her, “Why? It’s going to be fun…” I rolled my eyes and added, “Your sister needs to get laid so that she won’t be as up-tight anymore… In… both meaning” I grinned as I said the last words, noticing the double-meaning after I said it.
She slapped my shoulder and even though she was smiling, she said in exasperation, “don’t be so crude like that.”
“But you think so too, right?” I grinned at her and wiggled my eyebrows playfully. “I need to get laid too…” I added while whispering huskily on her ear, made her shivered slightly and I bit her ears for a good measure.
She slapped my shoulder again and hissed, “not here,” and she slapped my shoulder again, “at least wait until we get to your apartment.”
“It’s now your apartment too.”
She blushed slightly and whispered, “I know… still couldn’t believe it though….”
“I’m sorry that it has to happen in this way… but…”
She shut me up by put her finger on my lip and shook her head. “It bound happen sooner or later. This only made it sooner. I’m not complaining though.” But then she was glaring at me. “BUT! About Kokabuki and Youran don’t say anything. And don’t say anything to your Shitennou-friends too. Me and Shaku already told Yuko-san, Maeda and Geki to let them be. Kokabuki doesn’t even realize they have something yet.”
“Fine… fine…” I muttered in exasperation.
“I mean it! Don’t!” She whispered threateningly at me. “If you tease them, Kokabuki might bring her defense shell again, and the possibilities of them being together will all disappear before it even exists.” She stomped at the floor and whispered at me again, “and like you said… she needs to get laid. But, I’ll be happier if she found someone who’ll be with her till the end, not just getting a quick-screw for a night.” She slapped my shoulder with a huff, “she’s my sister for God’s sake!” She was about to slap my shoulder again but I caught her hand and whispered back at her.
“Okay. Okay. I get it. There’s no need to get violence. Geez…” I sneaked my hand around her waist and hugged her from the back, dropping my chin on her shoulder as I watched the younger Shitennou, waiting for them to finished… whatever it was. Youran and Kokabuki were still bantering about some irrelevant stuffs and Shaku was still checking the room, under the table, under the bed, inside the drawer and cabinet.
Not long after, the door was opened by Sado-san, a very angry and fuming Sado-san. She glanced at us, and I seriously thought she will scold me again for… letting my lust ran out of control in a public place. Which was not true. At all. I just hugged her, there’s nothing wrong in hugging, right? But, then she shifted her attention away from us and looked at Shaku menacingly and walked closer to her while Shaku gulped noticeably. Sado-san pulled Shaku by the ear and dragged her out. Shaku was saying, “itai… don’t pull my ear… ouch… itaiii!” during her way out, while we’re just looking at them in confusion, and after Sado-san closed the door, we’re still staring at the door for a few seconds more.
“Well…. Sado-san is… on her sadist mode today…” I said, breaking the silence.
“You tell me….” Youran retorted, “I wonder what Shaku has done?”
I shrugged and slumped my head back on Tomo`s shoulder, closing my eyes in bliss of being together with her, after not seeing her for a few days because of the damn home works and mock exams. “Well, now we have to wait for Shaku to come back.” I heard her said, and then I heard, more like, I felt her sighed. “Hope they won’t be too long. I want to get back home.”
“Aneki… you mean to Shibuya-san`s apartment, right?”
“O-oh… e-em… right.”
I heard Youran snickered loudly and she said with amusement apparent in her voice, “Why being so shy, Ookabuki? We all know that you two are definitely on ‘that’ kind of relationship already.”
I opened my eyes and gave Youran a pointed look while saying, “Yeah… yeah… at least we’re not on abstinence because of being single and waiting for that someone to finally realize something.” I said off-handedly, earned myself a jab on the stomach discreetly from my girlfriend who’s warned me with her glare.
Youran was gaping at us and looking at us while Kokabuki was looked confused by my words. “Ookabuki!! What did you told her?!” Youran yelled at my girl while pointing at me.
“I didn’t tell her anything!” She answered, “it’s not my fault if she could read it in your behavior.” And I nodded in agreement.
“Wait… wait... what are you all talking about?” Kokabuki intercepted, even more confused with the sudden turn in the conversation.
“Nothing.” Youran and Tomo said at the same time. I just sighed and silently praying for Shaku to come back soon. I wanna go home. AND I NEED TO GET LAID! DAMMIT!! It’s been a month already. The sooner we get back home, the better.
After a few minutes of half-teasing-half-bickering moment between Tomo and Youran, with me embracing my girl from behind and spacing out, and Kokabuki who’s getting even more confused with every minutes passed, Shaku finally came back. A very sad and dejected looking Shaku. When I saw her, I automatically released my girl and put some distance between us. Somehow thought it was necessary.
“Shaku, what’s wrong?”
“What’s happened?”
Shaku sighed and with a small quivering voice, she told us what has happened.

*Emergency stairs, a few minutes before.
After they walked out of the room, Sado dragged Shaku to the emergency stairs, knowing that they’ll be alone there. As soon as the door closed, she menacingly asked, no, demanding an answer might be more fitting.
“Why did there’s 20,000 Yen on my bank account coming from yours?”
“I-I heard you’re having a financial problem right now… so…”
“I don’t need your pity!” Sado barked at the much younger girl, and after she saw the girl flinched and looking at the floor sadly, she felt a little guilty, but her pride stopping her from apologize to the girl.
“I’m not pitying you.” Shaku slowly said, “I’ve heard from Torigoya –san that you’ve worked double-shift lately to cover the medication bill for your grandma. It’s not much… but, I hope I can help somehow.”
“As I said, I don’t need your parents` money.” Sado said coldly, still irritated.
“It’s not theirs. I… I had a part-time work these past months. I’m not a spoiled-brat. I’ll prove it to you”
Sado felt her anger slipping away by the time she realized that the younger girl was working part-time for helping her. But…
“Why?”
Upon hearing the question, Shaku raised her gaze to meet the Sado`s. “As I said… I want to help to carry your problems…,” she was stopped for a while, thinking, hesitant, but then she added, “… Mariko…”
Sado’s eyes widen and she curtly said, “My name is Sado.”
“That’s your real name, right? Why can I call you that way?” Shaku stubbornly asked. “I’ve heard Torigoya-san called Yuko-san as Yuu-chan. And I’ve heard Gekikara called Black-san as Yuki when I overheard them talking on the phone. And I do know Ookabuki and Shibuya-san called each other Tomo, even though they tried to avoid saying each others` names in public. So why can’t we? Why can’t I?”
Sado pinched the bridge of her nose in irritation and while gritted her teeth, trying to keep her anger at bay, she said, “Because we’re not like them.”
“Then what can I do to change it?” Shaku asked with determination in her eyes. The determination, that Sado has never seen before in the usually playful girl’s eyes. That made her somewhat happy and angry at the same time. She had to admit that she enjoyed their playful bantering, and she had to admit that she liked the younger girl`s playfulness and she love to tease her. But, right now, seeing the playfulness was all gone, she chastised herself in her mind, because she had opened her defense, the defense that only Yuko could break. And now, this girl in front of her, has crumbled her wall little by little and still trying to hammer it down. There’s no way she would let her doing it further. She wouldn’t let anyone in anymore, not after all the things that has happened with her families, and not after she opened her heart to another and that person was already in love with someone else, though she didn’t know it at the time. And not to mention… the girl was too young for her right now. She could get arrested.
“You can’t do anything.” Sado said shortly before she walked out the emergency stairs. “You’re too young for me. I’ll transfer the money back to you later.” And she left a very sad Shaku alone in the Emergency Stairs.

I face-palmed myself literally after I heard what happened and after that I could only responded with, “so… the Sadist has found the Masochist. God… what a pair.” Earned myself an elbow in my stomach again from Tomo because of my blunt remark. At least Shaku was smiling slightly because of it, while Youran and Kokabuki was gaping at her in surprise. Well, I’ve gotta say I was surprised too. I mean, I didn’t know that there was something between them. Um… for Shaku, at least. I don’t think Sado-san see her in ‘that’ way.
“How?” Youran gaped.
“Why her?” Tomo asked too.
Shaku glanced at me and asked back to Tomo, “I could ask you the same thing… Why Shibuya-san?”
“She was my childhood friend.”
“Then why do you fall for her?” Shaku asked again.
My girlfriend was thinking her answer for a while and with a frown she said, “I don’t know. I just… do….”
“Same here… I don’t know too.” Shaku sighed, “by the time I realized it, I was already drawn to her. Perhaps it has to do with her looking like someone I know.” She sighed again and continued to rambling about her misfortune and how she didn’t know what to do anymore. I shared a confused and exasperated look with my girlfriend and saw the same look on Youran and Kokabuki. I want to stop the poor girl from her rambling, but something she had said caught my attention.
“Could you repeat what you’ve said?” I told Shaku.
“Why she is so cold?”
“No… before that.”
“She said I’m too young for her, while we’re only one year apart?”
“Yes, that.” I said with a nod. “Well, how old do you think she is?”
“Em… same as you? Eighteen or nineteen?”
“You’re wrong.” I answered with a sigh. Knowing, the reason why Sado-san rejected her was not because she didn’t like her. Well, I guessed it wasn’t because of that…. Er… perhaps… “The only teenagers are Geki, Black and I. the others was already in their twenties.” After I saw the look of surprises in their faces, I added, “I’ve turned nineteen a few months ago… and so does Geki and Black…”
A gasp interrupted me and as I looked at my girl, she has this look of horror and guilt. “Oh, God… your birthday… last July… I forgot… I’m so sorry.” She pleaded at me while clutching at my hand.
I sighed and patted her head, “It’s okay. We were on bad term at the time, and we’re both busy… I forgot too…. At least until the others kidnapped me on my way home and dragged me to my ‘supposed to be a very late’ birthday party.” I said with a full roll of my eyes.
“Geez… Aneki, even though you were giving her the silent treatment at that time, how could you forget her birthday?” Kokabuki said in mirth, made my ‘already feeling guilty’ girlfriend even guiltier.
“I’m so sorry….”
“I said it’s okay. It’s not important.” I said to her and then I asked Shaku, “anyway where was I?”
“You, Black-san and Geki….”
“Oh, right… The others are older than us. Yuko-san and Torigoya are twenty two… and Sado-san is… twenty three. While you are…” I trailed off, because I don’t know how old she was.
“Seventeen.” She finished my words.
“Yep… you’re… about six years apart.” I said with a shrug.
“Why they’re only finished high-school a few months ago?” Kokabuki asked.
“I know why. But you’ve gotta ask for yourself. I won’t betray their trust.” I said with such finality on my tone to let them know I won’t say anything about it anymore. I look at my girlfriend who was giving me the puppy look and frowned, “you included,” and she huffed in response.
“Then what should I dooooo….” Shaku wailed, “Shibuya-san?”
“How the hell should I know?” I exclaimed loudly. “One thing for sure, do not put some money on her account again. She’s a proud person. She’ll only see it as an insult.”
“Shibuya-san… tell me… what should I do to get her attention?! You’re one of her friends… help me…” she wailed again. I sighed in exasperation at her antique. Actually, as far as I can see, she already got Sado-san`s attention on her, only… not that way. But there’s no way I told her that, right? Sado-san might kill me if I do. I know she has her reason to shun that girl away, and until she asked for my opinion, I won’t voice out anything.
“I don’t know, okay?! What am I?! A match-maker?!” I yelled in frustration after she wailed at me again, and I successfully shut her up. “Geez… I’m not good in relationship too… and why the hell did people asking me about stuffs,” I muttered to myself while rubbing my forehead, “firstly, it was Yuko-san, and then Torigoya… then it was Geki… and now you… Geez…” Deciding that it would be better for me to leave the room than to stay and might get myself in trouble for being blunt and rude towards my girlfriend`s friend, I started to walked to the door.
“Where are you going?”
“Cleared out the administration!” I answered and almost slammed the door behind me.
I hurriedly walked to the administration section, almost stomping all the way, and almost barked at the clerk when I asked for the bills. My eyes bulged out when I saw the amount of the bills as I was walking to the cashier and then I remembered. She was in the ICU for a night and then… not to mention being hospitalized for two weeks, and all the medicines, blood-transfusions and stuffs. I gulped and slowly pulled out my platinum credit card and gave it to the Cashier while silently praying that it won’t cross my credit limit and hoping that my parents wouldn’t even check my bills and just paid it off like usual.
My parents usually just give me the money whenever I asked them, without asking what for. They don’t care much as long as I don’t do drugs. Well… I did use drugs before. But they didn’t know it of course. The others often called me rich-brat and scold me for being a spendthrift. The thing is, I’m not a spendthrift, but I do now quality often accompany with a high price. And I don’t mind if I have to spend more money for high quality items. But, it doesn’t mean I don’t know the value of money. I almost cry when I saw the hospital bills. It’s almost at the same amount with my living cost for two months. ‘Dear God… don’t let my parents saw this, please… just make them pay it up like usual without further questioning.’ And when the Cashier give me my credit card and ask me to sign on the payment bills, I sighed in relief. At least it didn’t crossed my credit card`s limit. This was one of the rare moments that I was thankful for being born in my family. But still, this means no more shopping for me until next month. Sigh…

*After Shibuya had left the room.
“She’s… truly not good with people, huh?” Youran sweat-dropped after she saw Shibuya stormed out of the room. She then turned her head to look at Ookabuki. “Shaku isn’t the only one wondering here… What did you see in her anyway!?”
Ookabuki only smiled and refused to answer, while Kokabuki sighed and remembering all the times she witnessed their couple times like they’re the only living being on the planet. She shivered in disgust and muttered darkly, “you wouldn’t say that if you saw them when there’s no one around,” she shivered even more to make a point, “they’re just too sweet that they almost gave me cavities.”
“For real?!”
“Yeah, they’re just…. Bleh….”
“Hey… hey… tell us…” Shaku said, temporarily forgot her problems, “come on… Kokabuki, spill it out.”
Kokabuki looked at her Aneki who’s grinned and just simply said, “I won’t help you out if she hunts you down…”
Kokabuki looked back at Shaku and Youran afterwards, “then… no… sorry…”
“Tch….”
All of a sudden the door opened, with Gekikara standing behind it. She was still on her school uniform and Rappappa’s jacket, but there’s some bruises on her face. She mumbled her greeting and sat on one of the chairs inside the room.
“Gekikara? What’s wrong?” Youran was quick to move to stood beside Gekikara, and put one of her hand on Geki’s shoulder.
“The usual reformation thing.” Geki mumbled. “Good thing that you’re all here, Yuko-san was on a meeting with Captain Takahashi and Maeda. She asked me to tell you all to prepare yourself to clean up the entire reformation thing.”
“Nezumi and Center acted up again?” Shaku asked her while she went to sit on the bed.
“Some juniors, actually… But, yeah, we think Nezumi was behind all this.” Geki mumbled again. “Yuko-san is already preparing some strategies. We ran out of people, so… We can’t just go on our usual ways of fists and kicks.”
“When?”
“We don’t know yet. I guess in a few weeks or so.” Geki sighed and then she looked around. “Where’s Shibuya? I thought she ditch her classes to help you out.”
“She IS here. She went to clear out the administration.” Ookabuki answered.
“Oh, good then.” Geki said.
“It’s not good… The entrance exam for the vocational school she had chosen is only three weeks more!” Ookabuki said in irritation, “no more ditching classes again after this.”
“Geez… Aneki, you sound like her mother or something.”
Shaku and Youran laughed at the sisters, while Geki managed to smile a little and she said, “I mean, it’s good that she isn’t here in this room right now.” After she paused a little, she then continued, “Yuko-san told me to not telling Shibuya, Sado-san and Black about all of this. She won’t tell Torigoya too. So… you have to shut it too.”
Ookabuki frowned. “Why?”
Geki grimaced slightly and answered, “They have other things to do. They’re not Majijo students anymore, so… And as you said, Shibuya will face her exam soon, Black has to work and taking care of Ren in the same time, Sado-san was busy with her job, and Torigoya also has lots of photo-shots in the moment.” She sighed and rubbed her forehead. “We shouldn’t bother them with this as long as we could handle it ourselves.”
“They’ll know it sooner or later,” Ookabuki said with a frown, “I don’t know how long I can keep it from T-Shibuya, considering now I live with her.”
“I know… I don’t know how I could keep Black from knowing too.” Gekikara mumbled.
After a while Shaku sighed, “Ah, well, you two just have to try to keep them from knowing then. And speaking of exam and work,” She looked at her friends one by one and asked, “what’ll you all do after graduate?”
“Not college for sure.” Youran said.
Kokabuki sighed, “same here.”
“Mmm…” Geki mumbled her agreement.
“I’m not sure…,” Ookabuki said. After seeing the questioning look her friends gave her, she sighed, “I want to go to vocational school too, taking a home economic field or something. But with my parents cutting out my allowances… looks like I need to find a job rather than further study.”
“But, Shibuya-san is from a rich family too, right?” Youran asked, “She surely will help you out if you asked her to.”
“I don’t want to leech her out.” Ookabuki grimly said.
“And her parents would only support her until she reaches 21. After that… she’s on her own.” Geki added. “Perhaps you can stop her tendencies to spend too much. Or she’ll have a problem later on.”
“You know that too?!” Ookabuki asked to Gekikara, surprised. But then she blinked and added, “No, forget I said anything. Of course you know.”
Gekikara gave a slight smile and leaned back on the chair, stretched her body like a cat, “I’m her fighting buddy for years.” She stood up and started walking to the door. “I better go before Sado-san and Shibuya saw me here.” She was only a few steps away from the door, when the door suddenly opened.

I walked to the room with my shoulder slumped, totally in my out-of-character mode. Damn… it was really expensive. ‘No shopping… no shopping…’ That was the words that kept replaying in my head during the short walk to the room. When I opened the door, I immediately frowned at the look they were given me. It was varied in between surprise, horror, shock and… was that guilt that I saw on my girlfriend`s face? And then… I noticed the bruises and small cuts on Geki`s face. Just like whenever she was just finished fighting.
“Who did you fight with?” I asked Geki who’s only smiled awkwardly at my question. “Why don’t you give me a call for something? It’s been a while since the last time I… exercising.”
“Er… It… it’s just a small flies.” Geki stuttered, “you’ll get bored even if I call you.”
I frowned at her even more. I’m not smart, but I’m not an idiot too. I knew she was hiding something from me. Especially with the way they looked so surprised when I came back. After a while, Geki scratching the side of her head and mumbling, “I have to go, see you all again later,” while hastily walked out of the room.
“What… the… hell… happened?” I growled in irritancies because they’re clearly hiding something from me.
“Eh… nothing!” Tomo was quick to say. “So… um… let’s go.”
