CHAPTER 17
It’s not only Kai who feels down, but so is Acchan. She feels uneasy that her parents reject his proposal. Acchan’s thumb caressing Kai’s hand, she hopes that Kai ca accept it toughly.
“But..” Acchan’s dad continues, “…we can still arrange an engagement if you want.”
“Eh?” Kai’s expression changed. “Engagement?” he raises his eyebrows.
“Yeah. It’s not that we’re not trust you, Kai. But you two are still in college, we just want you two finish your study first, after that it’s up to you if you want to get married. Even at the same day with your graduation day.”
Kai chuckled. He tries to calm himself and accept this fact. “Haik, it’s okay. I can understand.” He said, even though his face still in dissapointed mode.
“So, do you agree about the engagement?”
Kai turns to Acchan showing his “How?” expression, then he finds Acchan only smiles and nods.
Kai turns to her parents again “Haik. Thank you Mr. Maeda.”
“It’s dad!”
“And mom!”
Acchan’s parents quickly correcting Kai’s saying. “We’re your parents too, right?”
Kai and Acchan smile widely. “Thank you, Mom..Dad..” Kai bows.

THE BOYS TALK
*Kai’s POV*
I went to Riku’s house by myself, it was our day off. No class for today so we decided to not going to campus. I skipped footbal club today cause I had something important to discuss with Riku.
“Come in..” he said, leading me inside his room. The same room we always share together when we were still in primary school. I close the door to ensure that we can talk privately, while Riku take two cans of coke from his small fridge.
“So how was the meeting with her parents?” he asked me, throwing a can to me.
I caught it successfully and open it. I drink it a little, “Failed.”
“EH?? So you mean her parents rejected you??!” he widened his eyes.
“Hmm.. let’s say, we postpone it in a long enough time.” I tried to answer calmly.
“Too harsh! That was the greatest marriage proposal I ever knew, how could they reject you?” Riku started to complaining.
“It’s a logic reason, by the way. They trust me, but they thought that we’re still in college, too early to get married.”
“So how about… the baby..” Riku said in a lower voice.
“No baby, no wedding” I said shortly.
“WHAT??!! Wait, I don’t get this. How come??” now he’s panic. But I keep myself calm.
“After the show, Atsuko told me that she’s actually not pregnant. Her cousin Mariko aked her not to tell me about that, they want to see what I will do.”
“Oh, GIRL!! All girls are cruel.” He shouted.
“I was happy that she’s actually not pregnant, because it won’t ruin her study and everything will going to be normal again. But, something that bothered me was… I have proposed her in front of his parents. It was impossible for me to cancel the proposal. So I kept tell them that I want to marry her, without told them the real story behind this.”
"Yeah, that's logic."
“I was so sad and depressed when her parents rejected me. But, in the other way, it’ …” Kai stopped. "...it saved me."
"So the truth is: You don't want to marry her?"
"Yet" Kai quickly added. "I think we have to finish our study first. I was afraid to loose her if I don't marry her. But at least now I can keep her mine as her parents allowed us to engaged."
"That's cool. So you will arrange an engagement party soon?"
"I guess so. Urrmm.. Next week, I guess."

The next weekend, the 2 neigborhood families arrange a party of their children engagement. There's a lot of people come to the party including the staff and all the theater club members. Most of them only know that the wedding is being postponed, but for some who knew that Acchan was pregnant, Kai told them that in fact Acchan's not really pregnant. They all having fun for the party.
After the party is ended, all the guests are out, and everyone back to their own place, Acchan's dad has a conversation with Kai in the backyard. It's only the two of them there, Acchan has already sleeping.
"Son... It'a an engagement, not a wedding yet, okay!"
"Yes, dad. "
"So it means that... I don't expect a baby before the wedding. "
"O-okay,dad.. I promise." Kai said.
"Umm.. I mean, not really a baby. But, can you two not to do 'it' and be patient until the wedding?"
"Eh? Oh, you mean.. Oh okay dad, sure we won't. Hehe.." Kai laughs awkwardly.
"We did it, dad" he thought.
"Good, I hope you can do my order. I know you're a good man." Acchan's dad pats his shoulder and starts to walk away.
About a week after the engagement, Acchan's parents asks Kai and Mayu to go with them on a vacation. It's not only a vacation but Acchan's father want to go to his hometown visitting Acchan's grandmother. But since Mayu has a loy of school tasks, it's only Kai who join them. When Kai preparing his bag, Riku comes to his house.
"Dude, come here!" Riku calls Kai. "I have a present for you."
Riku gives a little box with a pink ribbon. Kai takes and shakes it near his ear, try to find out what's inside.
"Just take it. It's an engagement present." Riku winks at him. "Now, go.. Maeda may waiting for you!"
Kai have no idea what is it, but since the gift is small, he take it and put it inside his bag. That morning Kai go with Acchan's family. Acchan's dad allows him to drive. So he and Acchan sit in the front seat. This time Kai learns to know Acchan's family closer. Actually it's Acchan's parents plan so that Kai will know about their family.
Day by day, the relationship between the two is getting better.Even though they found some troubles about trust, jealosy, or misunderstanding. But they can handle it, knowing that they're actually love each other endlessly.
During the study, Kai designed a house, beautiful house for him an Acchan. The good part is Kai get a job, a real job, about 5 months before he's graduated. His parents feel so proud of him. So they decided to make Kai's dream of the house come true. They build the house in the same town, about thirty minutes away from their house.
*** The Graduation Day ***
Kai waiting for Acchan in the parking area. He take off his robe and put it in his bag. There, he can see Acchan is running approach him.
"Hey, sorry for waiting so long. We took a lot of photos." Acchan said. Her expression is so cheerful. Yes, because this is their best day after studying for years in college."So, where are we going to?"
"A special place.." Kai answers shortly and smiles.
"Well, every place is special as far if I'm with you.." Acchan kiss his cheek. "Happy graduation, honey," the she peck on his lips.
"Happy graduation for you too." Kai said. "Let's go."
They go to the place that Acchan doesn't know yet, and arrived at a house.
"Come on," Kai takes Acchan's wrist an walk inside.
"Acchan!!!" a familiar voice of a woman comes. It's Mariko, walks approaching them cheerfully. She wears a beautiful white gown. "Happy graduation!!" she hugs Acchan tightly.
"Thank you.. Hey, Mariko why are you here?" Acchan confused.
Mariko look at Kai. "Err, you will know." she smirks at Acchan.
"Kai, you can go. Let me fix her first."
Kai nods and walk away without telling Acchan anything.
"Wait, Kai, where are you going?" Acchan said in confuse but Mariko drags her inside, while Kai go away by his motorbike.
Acchan is dragged to a room, there are some people there, about three people who greet her kindly.
"Congratulation,honey.. It's gonna be your big day" Mariko said and ahe show her a beautiful white gown. A bride gown.
Walking elegantly with a beautiful gown, Acchan greets her dad who waits for her in front of the house. She finally found out that the owner of the house is a bride make up artist.
"Ready, princess?" her dad greets her and leads her inside the car. They heading to the chruch nit far from the house.
Entering the chruch, which is already decorated beautifully, Acchan's heart beats fast. As the door is opened, she can see his prince is standing inside the chruch wearing tux. He looks even more gorgeous than a prince.
There, the two standing face to face in front of their family and friends, tying the knot and say their love promise, and for the first time.. kissing as husband and wife.
