Something I've been thinking about for a bit

Her eyes turned up to the ceiling with the drops of sweat running down her cheekbone before coming to the pointed edge and dropping to the floor below. Umemoto Izumi had all of this before, after practice, but it was a different experience as the ceiling looked much higher than the studio and it wasn’t the cool breeze of the outside world that was freezing up her body.
“Chiizu~ are you ready?”
The ikemen girl glanced up and shook her head. Her usual shyness came from nerves and it flared up as she saw her date in a bright, pink dress and sandals with a large, thatched hat. Chiizu managed to take a microsecond to look at her before her cheeks started to burn up. She hated her choice in clothing of t-shirt and jeans but it was her standard for outside clothes as she headed to the door and opened it for her partner.
“Thank you.”
Chiizu had a pool of thoughts to consider, most from the elder generation. The closeness wasn’t her forte but she moved into position as she reached out and grabbed her finger.
“Hehehe.”
“Sorry, Naopon.” Chiizu said in a low voice.
“Don’t worry about it. We can head to the bench to talk.” She suggested as Chiizu paced to the area and took a seat as the view of the bright sky had appeared in front of them.
“How… are you doing, today?” Chiizu asked when she felt her arm being hooked by Naopon.
“It’s been great. I was surprised to be asked by you on a date. Wouldn’t Meru and Mashiro be upset at you?”
Meru and Mashiro would be furious. Meru’s weakness was Chiizu’s appearance. Chiizu was usually the embarrassed one but Meru had topped that once she admitted her feelings. Mio was friendly rather than a suitable partner. Meru would fall apart every time they would passed and with Team H it was obvious everyone would tease her about that.
Mashiro was the type to pick on the elder girl. She had every reason to do so. It was not unusual to see Chiizu in her embarrassed state but truthfully it was like the same when it came to her. The general liking was strong but Chiizu had always seen her as a nuisance and friend rather than to ask her to hang with her.
“They would be.” She forced a smile. “I’d like taking pictures so let me take a few of yours by the fountain.”
She hadn’t expect to bring the camera and took out her phone for the unannounced shoot. Chiizu liked the light dress with the nice weather. The nice breeze made the shots beautiful in her eyes with her wide smile coming out in every shot. She came up close and framed all the shots before putting the camera back into her pocket.
“Where do you want to go?” Naopon cooed as her cheeks turned rosy.
Her brain went abuzz. It was obvious that a meal would be out of the question and a walk could do a bit of the start but she remembered Meru being her usual self and walked toward the pond. Chiizu waved her hand and moved toward the edge as the ducks paddled up to the girl.
“Do you like Meru?” She questioned when her head snapped back.
“I do… Just like friends. She wanted to do stuff but if hasn’t been like I have a great feeling for her.” She explained in a heightened tone.
Naopon glanced away as Chiizu began to stare at the vast pond. It was known that many had intimate relationships with each other. She kept tabs on many of them and letting her mind wander had given her time to consider maybe chancing to strike an intimate relationship. She smiled as a touch on her neck brought her back to the reality. Her weight dropped Chiizu to her knees with a laugh escaping from her partner.
“Gomen ne~”
“That’s fine.” Chiizu swept off her knees and stood up.
She noticed how Naopon was being flirty with her and grabbed her hand without noticing the direction she was going and brought her to the shave ice stand that had finished setting up on the hilltop. Chiizu walked up and held up two fingers for her favorite flavor, strawberry. The two watched him carefully cupped the ice into the container and then pour the room-temperature syrup on top before handing it to the two girls.
“Thanks.” Chiizu smiled.
She began to dig into hers as her eyes were on Naopon as she pulled away from her. Her thoughts turn to her as she took a seat under the tree and sat next to her.
“What’s wrong?” Chiizu asked as she saw her shake her head and picked up the first bit of soft ice crystals and placed it into her mouth.
“Nothing’s wrong.” Forcing a smile. “Thanks for this.”
The realization had come to Chiizu that she was the one people would consider more male-like; her short hair, the mannerisms, and how the other girls would attract to her. She didn’t want the attention but she had felt it was warranted with the opportunity. She lifted her left arm and placed her onto her partner’s shoulder.
“I hate you.” She welled up, leaning onto her shoulder. “Mashiro is going to shoot you.”
“Everyone else will too.” Chiizu sighed as she pulled back her arm and continued with the icy treat.
“The thing is… what about Mio?” She breathed.
“I’ll… explain later. She’s nice and…” Chiizu thought when Naopon threw her arm around her neck and brought her ear up to the lips.
“Her chest is huge.”
Chiizu swallowed the ice and coughed at the same time as Naopon clapped her hands in the pleasure of the suffering. It was obvious that she was huge but her thoughts being on Naopon had never expected to feel amused by her teasing unless it was accompanied by Mashiro.
“One day. One day I’ll get you back.” Chiizu smirked as they sat with the melted puddle in a cup.
