It wasn’t unusual for members of the same sister group to stick together when they found themselves in Tokyo performing with AKB48. After all there were things that only they could understand that members of AKB or any other sister group for that matter couldn’t understand. Which was why Jurina was currently standing in an empty room going over dance steps with Rena in spite the fact their personal relationship wasn’t that great. It was better now, but not the best. It was a long story really.

One that dated back to two years ago when Jurina confessed her love to the much much older girl. It didn’t last very long. Partly because the Rena felt guilty about dating someone much younger than herself and the other part because Jurina was a helpless flirt that was still not entirely ready for a real relationship in spite of loving Rena. But that was a long time ago. Things were different now. So different.

“You’re doing it wrong,” Jurina pointed out once more sounding annoyed. Rena had never been strong at dancing, but even for her this was beyond weak. Jurina couldn’t really blame her though. Escape was being rumored to be one of the most difficult dance songs in AKB’s history and clearly that rumor was being proved correct as many members struggled to grasp the fast paced steps. Jurina, being a natural dancer herself, had no problem with this of course and was pleased with the challenge. Her fellow members, however, not so much.

Rena ran her fingers through her hair frustrated. “This is helpless,” she mumbled sounding helpless which made Jurina feel bad for being so tough on her. She couldn’t help it though. They needed to have the dance down in two days and Rena was nowhere near mastering it. Still Jurina could understand why she felt the way she did. She knew she felt that way herself many other times before. Jurina inched closer to her and placed her hand on her shoulder. “Look I know it’s difficult, but you will get it. You’ll see. It’s always hard for you the first few times after all, but at the end you always master it,” her voice was gentle and reassuring. Rena smiled.

“Jurina.”

An angry icy voice came from the door. Jurina and Rena were snapped out of their little bubble. Outside stood Watanabe Mayu, Jurina’s current girlfriend. Jurina suddenly became aware of her hand in Rena’s shoulder and quickly pulled it away as she noted her girlfriend’s clenched fists. This wasn’t good. This wasn’t good at all.

“Mayu-san! We were just practicing the Escape choreography. Jurina was nice enough to help me since I don’t know the steps yet,” Rena quickly explained knowing the status of their relationship and sensing Mayu’s anger behind her seemingly calm face. Mayu glared at her then back at me. “Right nice,” Mayu replied sarcastically before exiting the room and them alone. Jurina growled.

Great. I got some explaining to do.

Jurina made her way to Mayu’s house with some manga and flowers in her hands. It was going to take a lot to get Mayu to calm down about what happened earlier in the dance room. Jurina had tried several occasions to talk to Mayu during the day, but she kept avoiding her like the plague. Now she resorted to giving the girl a visit to her apartment since Mayu left her no other choice. The hand on the shoulder thing wasn’t even a big deal to Jurina. She was just comforting a fellow teammate for crying out loud!

Sure they dated once, but Jurina no longer held any feelings for her. She was dating Mayu!  Shouldn’t that be proof enough? Well apparently it wasn’t to Mayu. Jurina just wish Mayu would trust her more. Jurina finally reached Mayu’s apartment and knocked on the door. She heard Mayu’s voice in the background call out, “Coming!”

Mayu opened the door only to find her adorable puppy-like girlfriend armed with flowers and manga. She would have been moved, but she wasn’t because that same adorable girlfriend had been caught flirting with her ex and she wasn’t going to let it side that easily. Especially since Jurina had a habit of flirting with other members. Mayu was sick of it. She crossed her arms.

Jurina gulped as she saw the scowl in Mayu’s face even after presenting her with her gifts. The flowers and the manga clearly did not work. This was going to be very very difficult. “What do you want?” Mayu demanded harshly. She did not bother looking at the manga to see what the titles were. Jurina took this as another bad sign. Manga was something Mayu absolutely loved. “Can I come in?” Jurina asked sheepishly. Mayu gave her one of her infamous cold Nezumi stares, but nodded closing the door behind them. She didn’t want to be seen arguing by the neighbors after all.

“Look I was seriously just helping her with the dance. It’s just I kind of slapped at her and I felt bad! You just happened to walk in the moment I was trying to apologize!” Jurina explained desperately wanting Mayu to believe her. It was the truth after all and Jurina didn’t want to fight over something that really didn’t mean anything nor something that wasn’t even done in a flirting matter. Perhaps Jurina was known as a big flirt, but ever since she started dating Mayu she completely stopped. If she flirted she wasn’t trying to nor aware of it. She really just wished Mayu would see that.

“Right so you had to apologize by putting your hand on her shoulder. If I hadn’t irrupted you probably would have kept apologizing by kissing her lips,” Mayu hissed. Jurina looked hurt. “Mayu I am being honest here. Why do you have to assume the worst? She told you herself didn’t she? We were just practicing. Why don’t you trust me? I already told you Rena is in the past for me. I don’t love her that way anymore at all,” Jurina said softly giving Mayu what could only be described as her infamous puppy eyes.

With that Mayu was tempted to just pull the cute girl towards her and kiss her, but she wasn’t satisfied with Jurina’s answer. “Why go off in our only break to practice with her instead of passing time with me? How do you think that makes me feel? We barely spend time together and the moment we get a break instead of looking for me you take off with Rena! With Rena! Even though you say you supposedly are in love with me and not her!” Mayu exclaimed tears threatening to fall. Mayu refused to let them though not wanting to show Jurina just how hurt she was by her actions.

Jurina sighed. Mayu had a point of course, but Jurina wasn’t thinking of how Mayu would feel the moment she took off with Rena. She was only thinking of what a mess SKE48 would look like if Rena, her fellow center, didn’t learn the dance routine property. Sure neither of them were actually the center in this song, but she knew people would more than likely be looking at them since they were the most popular members in their group.

“You’re right I know how it looks, but you have to understand that I only did this because I don’t want SKE to look bad. Surely if you knew someone was struggling with something in Team A or just AKB in general you would help them wouldn’t you?” Jurina pointed out hopefully she could make Mayu understand. It didn’t work though. “There is only one difference Jurina. None of those members are my ex,” Mayu retorted stubbornly. “Yeah well what about if it were Kashiwagi Yuki?!” Jurina shot back slightly annoyed that Mayu was being so difficult and refusing to listen to her words. Mayu was taken aback, but quickly responded, “That’s different. We never dated.”

“But you liked her didn’t you!” Jurina answered back. “Don’t make this about you Jurina. You know perfectly well that by the time I started dating you my crush on Yuki was completely gone,” Mayu told her annoyed Jurina was trying to turn things on her. “Yeah I am expected to understand that yet you won’t understand that I was completely over Rena when I started dating you! That’s completely unfair!” Jurina yelled tears pouring out of her eyes. It was not use. Mayu would never truly trust her. Jurina left the flowers and manga in Mayu’s table and stormed out of the apartment. Mayu was surprised by Jurina’s tears. If anyone should be upset shouldn’t it be her?  Mayu picked up one manga Jurina left in her table and sighed. Perhaps she was too hard on her. Maybe Jurina was right. Mayu should trust her more.

...
Jurina turned up her music full blast as she curled up in her sofa in her small apartment in Tokyo. Ever since her double position in Team K she no longer stayed in hotels instead now she stayed in a company owned apartment. It was a bit lonely compared to her home back in Nagoya, but that wasn’t what was bothering her at the moment. Why didn’t Mayu trust her after so long? It had been months. Months! And the cyborg-like girl was still giving her a hard time about Rena. Yes this wasn’t the first time they argued over this. They argued over this quite often. More often than Jurina cared to count.

What was so frustrating and maybe more hurtful about the arguments was that Jurina was expected to trust Mayu completely around her former crush Yuki while Jurina couldn’t even be seen alone with Rena. If Jurina could trust Mayu why couldn’t Mayu trust Jurina? What had Jurina done to deserve Mayu’s distrust? Tears began to fall again. It hurt. It hurt so much. She hated being in bad terms with Mayu. She loved her to death. Suddenly there was a knock in her door. It was late though.

Jurina wondered who would possibly come visit at such hour. When Jurina opened the door it was revealed to be Mayu who was looking nervously at the ground. “Mayu…” Jurina uttered surprised by the girl’s sudden late night visit. Jurina quickly let her in. Both girls were silent. Jurina was about to say something, but Mayu beat her to it. “L-Look I am sorry. I understand I was being unfair to you and that I should trust you more, but you got to understand how scared I am. I am scared that you two will suddenly find yourselves falling for each other again and that you will leave me for her,” Mayu quickly blurted out not being one for apologies.

The tears she held back earlier began to fall freely from her face. Jurina noticed this and quickly wrapped her arm around her waist pulling her closer to her. Mayu felt her heart beat faster at the gesture anticipating what Jurina would do next. “I could never replace you with her Mayu,” Jurina whispered softy gently kissing her milky neck causing Mayu to place her arms around Jurina’s neck pulling her closer to her warm body.

“Do you mean it?” Mayu found herself asking still unsure of herself and Jurina even though she wished she wasn’t. Jurina pulled away from her neck and faced her. Her gaze loving and passionate making Mayu feel like she was melting. “I mean it. I only love you Mayu. Only you,” Jurina answered. With that said Mayu pulled the girl in for a kiss doing exactly what she longed to do earlier. Feeling Jurina’s warm addicting lips against her own made her feel stupid for denying herself this pleasure earlier.

Their lips entwined fitting perfectly together like two pieces in a puzzle. It was just right and the moment was so perfect. God Mayu could do this all day all eternity. But unfortunately the two were humans and they depended on oxygen. Their foreheads touched and their heavy breathes that were gasping for air mingled together. Both their cheeks were flushed. Jurina chuckled lightly. “Would you by any chance like to spend the night?” Jurina asked with a small smile. Mayu grinned and kissed the girl’s cheek.

“I would love to.”

Nightmares | Wmatsui

It wasn’t very uncommon for Jurina and Rena to share a room. They were both the only two girls from SKE in the senbatsu after all and it only seemed natural for them to be the ones to room together. Not that neither of them mind. They were quite used to each others presence and habits which made sharing a room a lot easier. For example Rena never had to worry about waiting for Jurina in to use the shower in the morning because the younger girl was an early bird and by the time Rena woke up she was already done showering.

Rena could only wonder how she managed to wake up so early after a hard day’s work. Jurina and her energy was always a spooky thing to her. However she got it didn’t matter. All Rena knew was that she was graceful for it. Rooming with Jurina had it’s cons however. It wasn’t very often, but occasionally the youngest of the two girls would get really bad nightmares. Her tossing and turning was quite loud and usually woke Rena, who was a light sleeper, up. After the tossing and turning came the whimpering and depending on how bad the nightmare was the screaming.

When Jurina woke up she would without a doubt end up in Rena’s bed after a decent about of begging. It seemed like tonight was going to be one of those nights. Rena could already feel herself further and further away from dream world as she heard the faint sound of Jurina turning in her sleep. Rena tried to shut her eyes tighter knowing she needed sleep since she had a long day tomorrow, but finally accepted it was hopeless after Jurina began to mumbled softly in her sleep her voice frighten.

She couldn’t make up what she was saying and Jurina usually didn’t remember her nightmares anyways. She just felt really scared afterwards even though she wasn’t sure why. Most of the time she would wake up crying and Rena would have to sit with her for a while to calm her down. Waking up Jurina wasn’t an option either. Once Rena tried that and Jurina pushed to the floor her out of fear. Rena sat up knowing that she would have to wait until Jurina woke up to get some sleep. Jurina’s voice got louder and her tossing increased. It was going to be a screaming one Rena determined as Jurina’s voice seemed more and more frighten.

Finally Jurina’s scream filled the room and her eyes shot open. Her breathing was heavy and Rena could see cold sweat in her forehead. “Are you okay?” Rena asked in a soft voice not wanting to startle the other girl. “Y-Yeah,” Jurina managed in a breathless voice. Jurina didn’t say any more, but her sniffs filled the room and even though it was dark Rena knew she was crying. Unlike other times Jurina didn’t call her to go to her side to comfort her or sleep with her. Jurina was sixteen now and Rena knew she was getting more and more shy about depending on others. But she also knew that if Jurina didn’t get sleep she would regret it the next day.

With that thought Rena got up her bed and walked towards Jurina’s. “Scoot over,” Rena told the younger girl knowing that if she suddenly touch her the girl would jump. “You don’t have to do this,” Jurina replied her face angled away from Rena. Rena smiled. “I know, but I want to,” Rena told her. With that Jurina moved leaving some room for Rena. Rena could sense Jurina was really embarrassed and she found it really cute. “You must think I am a baby,” Jurina said her voice filled with shame. She was already sixteen and she still cried over nightmares. It was a bit pathetic. Rena shook her head and grabbing Jurina’s hand sending a light electric shock towards the other girl’s body.

“I think it’s cute. Why are you so embarrassing about it? It’s only natural,” Rena replied her voice patient filled with understanding. The reason Jurina was so embarrassed was simple though. Jurina looked uncomfortable for a moment, but then looked at Rena with a look of determination in her eyes. “I-I don’t want the person I like to see me like this,”  Jurina replied fidgeting with her hands. Rena’s eyes widen, but before she could react she felt warm lips against hers. Jurina was kissing her. But before she could even response the warm lips were gone leaving her all alone.

“You must think I am just a kid. I am sorry,” Jurina mumbled scooting further away from her. She looked like she wanted to cry. Rena shook her head and scoot closer to Jurina again. Her warm scent filled Jurina’s nose causing her to become paralyzed right then and there. Rena was so close to her that their knees were touching and their warm breaths were merging together. “No I think you are cute,” Rena replied before capturing Jurina’s lips in a second kiss. This time was nothing like the first time. This time was more passionate as both parties participated, but soon the two needed oxygen. The two pulled away breathless. “R-Rena…” Jurina stuttered her cheeks crimson red.

Rena licked her lips. Rena didn’t know what compelled her to kiss Jurina, but she was glad she did. She was blushing as well and then she felt Jurina’s arms around her. “I love you,” Jurina whispered kissing her cheek. Rena’s heart sped up and soon she was hit with a realization.

“I-I love you too.”

Jurina smiled and buried head in Rena’s chest.

“Let’s go to sleep.”

Bitter Christmas | Jurimayu

I peered out my window letting out a pained sigh as I watched the falling snow land on the ground. My fingers traced the cold glass making me shiver at the touch. My eyes were mesmerized by the white wonderland in front of me. It was magical in a way, but something about the scene was all wrong. Perhaps it was because when you think of something magical you think of something light and warm or maybe it was the heavy loneliness the scene carried. I let my mind wonder to the previous day.

“I hate you!” my girlfriend of two years, Watanabe Mayu, shouted at me. Her face was red and cheeks filled with fresh bitter tears. I grasped her arm gently careful to not actually hurt her. “I am sorry. I didn’t mean for this to happen. I love you! I love you more than anything! Please just forgive me so we can spend Christmas together!” I begged desperately. Her glance was cold and I could feel her arm shaking in response to my words.

She snatched her arm away from my grip angrily. My heart sank. Forgiveness wasn’t coming. It wasn’t coming. It wouldn’t come. I knew that, but part of me also said it had to come. It just had to. But that was just empty hope.  ”You should have thought of that before you slept with Rena,” Mayu answered gravely before slamming my door behind her.

I was an idiot. I really was. We had it all. The perfect relationship. We were already planning an engagement for crying out loud and I ruined it. I ruined it all. Behind me stood a Christmas tree, our Christmas tree shining brightly without a care in the world. As if nothing happened as if nothing changed, but it was all an illusion.

Everything had changed. Nothing was the same and nothing would ever be the same. What a bitter Christmas it was turning out to be. It was what I deserved really. After all Rena didn’t seek me out. I did. She also didn’t force me to sleep with her, but I did. Not only that, but I told Mayu I was held up at work. I lied to her. Hurt her. Cheated on her. All while being perfectly aware of it.

How pathetic. How cowardly. I don’t understand myself. I don’t understand how I could ruin the only thing that was ever good in my life for just the temporary trill. All while hurting someone else in the process too because Rena was serious about me, but I wasn’t about her. I looked under the Christmas tree at all my presents. None of them were what I wanted. None of them were going to bring back what I destroyed. None would bring back Mayu.

Oh what a bitter Christmas it was.

The Urge to Kiss | Sayamilky

Watanabe Miyuki was not someone you would consider to be a kissing monster. Especially when you compared her to girls such as Matsui Jurina or Minegishi Minami. To be quite honest she never understood the joy in stealing kisses and prefer to be kissed by other members instead. That is until that morning.

There was nothing particularly special about that morning except for the fact that the AKB48 38th single senbastu members were called for a meeting concerning the single. She wasn’t exactly quite sure what it was about, but then again the girls didn’t know much about the single yet other than Yuko was center which was to be expected. Anyways returning to the kissing for some reason Miyuki woke up with a specific goal in her mind: kiss as many cute girls as you can.

It was strange and Miyuki herself found it strange, but couldn’t help to feel that way. At one point she wondered if she was possessed by Jurina’s spirit or something because it sounded like something the infamous kissing monster would say. Her first victim was Watanabe Mayu. Mainly because she was the first member she saw, but partly because Mayu had kissed her before and she didn’t think the girl would mind.

She was right of course. Mayu simply smiled at her and said, “Well someone is filled of energy today.” Miyuki did feel energetic oddly enough. Her next victims her Matsui Jurina and Oshima Yuko. The first was very pleased and didn’t even questioned Miyuki’s bizarre behavior while Yuko seemed a bit shock by it. She never seen the girl often regarded as a fisher behave that way, but feared for everyone around her since adding kissing monster to the list of traits of Watanabe Miyuki would be deadly for most.

Miyuki as happy as she was to be fulfilling her weird wish was a bit disappointed. She had not managed to catch the girl she really wanted to kiss. That was her fellow NMB48 member Yamamoto Sayaka. She was dying to see the shy girl’s reactions. Sayaka’s reactions were always really cute. With that thought Miyuki abandoned her former quest of kissing any cute girl and adopted a new one: kiss Yamamoto Sayaka.

Meanwhile Sayaka was barely making her way to the studio. She overslept, but luckily managed to make a few minutes before the meeting. She wasn’t having her best of mornings. She woke up late, left her headphones at home, and to top it off woke up with a nightmare. She couldn’t remember what it was about, but she still woke up scared. She sighed as she made her way into the studio.

She just wanted to get the day over with so she could go home and watch T.V or something. Once there Sayaka realized she was the last girl to arrive. She felt a bit self conscious about it. Everyone seemed to be staring at her weirdly. She couldn’t pinpoint exactly why. She was late, but she wasn’t that late was she? Surely she didn’t miss anything. “Ohayo,” Sayaka greeted timidly. “Ohayo,” the rest responded in unison before turning away to talk to each other. It was odd since everyone was whispering among themselves.

Sayaka had the feeling it was about her and she wasn’t mistaken because she overheard Jurina telling Rena, “Do you think Miyuki seen her yet?” Miyuki? Sayaka furrowed her eyebrows. What did Miyuki have to do with the looks she was getitng? She wanted to ask what was going on, but was too shy to do so. Then she spotted the culprit whom seemed to be responsible for the whole commotion.  She was grinning widely.

“Sayanee!” Miyuki exclaimed before pecking Sayaka on the lips. Everyone in the either gasped or giggled at the occurrence. Sayaka turned bright red as the hyperactive girl pulled away. If she was honest she had a small crush on her fellow member and her heart was beating rapidly under her chest. Did Miyuki like her too? What was going on? She was too surprised to even speak. Finally Jurina exclaimed, “Mou Miyuki you gave Sayaka-san a heart attack. You really feel like stealing kisses today don’t you?”

Sayaka blinked and finally recovered her senses. Stealing kisses? Wait what? “Huh?” was all Sayaka could utter. “Miyuki’s been kissing everyone since she got here. She was waiting for you,” Mayu explained with a giggle. “I just got the urge to kiss that’s all,” Miyuki replied with her usual bright smile. Sayaka’s mood fell. She thought for a moment the kiss was special, but it wasn’t. She should have known.

Soon the meeting started and the girls all gather together. Sayaka was giving Miyuki the cold shoulder. Not because she wanted to be mean or anything, but she was simply really disappointed and didn’t feel like dealing it the other girl. Miyuki sensed this and felt bad. Maybe I shouldn’t have surprised her like that, Miyuki thought as she observed the other girl. She clearly looked upset. Truth be told Miyuki really just wanted to kiss Sayaka and she was the only girl she kissed in the lips.

She had a small crush on her and just wanted to know what a kiss would feel that. Kissing other girls was a way to make it look more casual, but it seems that her excuse only upset Sayaka more. The meeting was done after a few notices and the girls were free to go. Sayaka seemed to be trying to avoid her, but she didn’t succeed. Miyuki soon cornered her and dragged her to a nearby dressing room to talk. Once inside Miyuki felt nervous as she felt Sayaka’s eyes on her, but still said, “I am sorry I surprised you.”

Sayaka looked a bit exasperated by her words. “Whatever. Just do me a favor and whenever you get the urge to kiss everyone keep me out of it!” Sayaka snapped harshly. She didn’t mean to sound that way, but she was angry and jealous. She didn’t like the idea that Miyuki kissed everyone before kissing her. Miyuki who couldn’t stand being spoken harshly to began to cry. She instantly looked at the ground not wanting Sayaka to see her tears. She really angered Sayaka. She never meant to do that. All she wanted was a small kiss. Was that really that bad? Did Sayaka find her that gross?

Sayaka noticing Miyuki’s tears in spite her attempts to cover them felt guilty. She knew how much Miyuki hated been spoken harshly to. She should have rein her anger in. Before she knew it she was embracing the crying girl. “Don’t cry,” Sayaka whispered holding her tightly. Miyuki’s eyes widen and her heart rate increased. Why was Sayaka hugging her? Wasn’t she mad? “Aren’t you angry? I stole a kiss in the lips too. You must have been disgusted,” Miyuki cried into Sayaka’s shoulder.

Sayaka pulled away slightly to look at Miyuki’s face. “You thought I was disgusted?” Sayaka questioned. She was surprised by this and the fear she heard in the other girl’s usually playful tone. Miyuki nodded. “Why else would you be upset after all?” Miyuki answered turning her face away from Sayaka. “Maybe because of the fact that you kissed everyone in the room before kissing me,” Sayaka blurted out without thinking. Miyuki looked surprised by her response then confused.

“But why would that bother you?” Miyuki asked. Her tears stopped falling as puzzlement stepped in. She couldn’t figure out Sayaka’s words nor that look in her face. Sayaka was conflicted. She wondered if she should tell Miyuki how she felt or not. Finally she spoke up, “Because when you kiss me I want to be the only one.” Sayaka blushed as she said this not daring to look Miyuki’s way. She was fearful. Miyuki on the other hand was in awe. Was this Sayaka’s way of confessing she was jealous?

“You were the only one I kissed on the lips,” Miyuki blurted out unsure of how else to respond. Sayaka smiled and gently pushed the girl back against the wall. Miyuki blushed at her action and Sayaka smirked. “Oh yeah? Well I guess that makes it better, but I am still upset. I thought I was more special than that,” Sayaka teased unsure of where her sudden shy character went. Miyuki turned a brighter shade of redder at her words and like Sayaka wondered where the shy Sayaka had gone.

“Y-you are. I just didn’t know if you thought I was special too,” Miyuki fumbled with her words as Sayaka edged closer to her. “You are,” Sayaka whispered seductively before pressing their lips together. This time the kiss wasn’t a simple peck between friends. It was deeper and so much better.

Miyuki felt her heart was going to explore and none of the small kisses of that morning compared to the way Sayaka’s kiss was making her feel at the moment. She felt like she was soaring. Finally the two pulled away due to lack of air. They were both panting, but had grins in their faces. Finally Sayaka said,

“Next time you get the urge to kiss you come directly to me and only to me.”

Colors (Atsuyuu)

“Have you ever paid attention to the way the sky is constantly changing colors?”

She always asked questions like these. So vague and superficial, yet at the same time so deep in their own way. She was in her own world, a world Atsuko wasn’t a part of. A world Atsuko didn’t understand.

To her the sky didn’t change colors. It was dull and gloomy as the emotions in her heart. The usually silent girl shook her head as usual preferring that way of silent communication.

This seem to make her squirrel-like companion grin. She had a knowing look in hers eyes as if she expected Atsuko to respond in such matter. It wouldn’t be odd if she did. Yuko seemed to know her better than most around her. So well Atsuko wondered if Yuko had ever felt the way she did. She had no way of knowing though. She knew nothing of the girl’s past after all.

“I knew it. You never pay attention to such things although you are though to,” Yuko told her also in a scolding matter.

Atsuko was quite accustom to this. Yuko often spoke this way to her particularity at Atsuko’s moody responses to her own peculiar questions. Yuko rolled her wheel chair towards the small hospital bed window.

Atsuko watched as she stared out glass taking in the outside world. A world soon she be unlikely to see ever again. Atsuko was hit with an immense wave of sadness as she witnessed this.

Why was life like this? Her was in front of her a lively young girl who still wanted to do so much and see to much be in the verge of death while Atsuko, who just wanted it all to end, got to live. It was unfair.

Yuko could do so much more with the time Atsuko was being granted. Yuko sighed her breath slightly fogging up the glass. “The colors are so beautiful. I wish you could see them too,” Yuko said spinning the chair around to meet her eyes.

Atsuko was once more like many other times trapped under the girl’s piercing round brown eyes. They were so mesmerizing and seemed to have a bizarre power over her.

Those eyes convey so much: sadness, fear, determination, and even some sort of contentment in spite the cheery girl’s grim fate as if the squirrel-like girl at least of part of her already accepted her nearing death and was no longer sadden by it. “Promise me you’ll notice these things more,” Yuko ordered in a bossy matter as it was her custom.

She wasn’t Rappapa’s leader for nothing after all. And there she went again making Atsuko promise her she’ll something that is probably outside her reach. Atsuko couldn’t find it in her to refuse her and she still couldn’t confirm if it was the fact that the other girl was in her deathbed or her irresistible puppy eyes that compelled her to listen to such outrageous requests.

“I promise,” Atsuko replied with her usual soft barely audible voice. Yuko didn’t seemed pleased with her response though because she replied exasperated, ” Say it with more meaning not like it’s a chore.” She had a disappointed child-like look in her way and Atsuko wondered how she could look so carefree when the end was so near.

Atsuko didn’t mean to make it sound as the other girl told her, but it was just the way she spoke. Every promise she made to Yuko as odd as it was she took seriously and thought to be important. It was not a chore for her. With a more firm voice Atsuko repeated, ” I promise I’ll notice the color of the sky.”

At this Yuko stiffen a laugh until she finally began to laugh openly. Hard to the point were she even wiped a tear of her eye. Atsuko looked at her with a confused look wondering would had caused such a reaction from the sick girl.

“I am sorry it’s just you said it so seriously and it’s such a small thing. You make everything so formal,” Yuko said between giggles. At this Atsuko pouted as her cheeks redden slightly. “You the one who bought it up,” she retorted crossly reminding herself of something the old Atsuko would have done.

Funny. She thought that part of her was dead. Perhaps not. “I guess I did didn’t I?” Yuko finally said in agreement. Atsuko stepped towards the window to view the scene Yuko was viewing. For the first time Atsuko found herself in Yuko’s world seeing the world as she saw it taking in the vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows as the sun began to set.

“You’re right. The colors are beautiful.”

Kawaiiidolworld Oneshot~ Violin Strings (Wmatsui)
« Reply #28 on: October 08, 2014, 06:07:09 AM »
Guys I am alive!!!! Lol okay I am being over dramatic, but it was been a long long time. Before anyone asks if I plan to update The Origin of Happiness the answer is probably no. I mean I will try, but for some reason updating that story seems like a drag ^ ^ Anyways I didn’t plan to post this so soon, but I heard it was Wmatsui day so I kind of had to :) It might have alot of mistakes ( I feel like I rushed), but I hope you all enjoy!

Violin Strings

Matsui Rena stared at her reflection and sighed. She was wearing a short white dress with a high neckline and white pumps. Her long black hair was styled in a simple, but elegant hairdo. Her make-up most would say was too light and yet it was way heavier than what Rena was used to wearing. The girl looking back at her in the mirror looked nothing like her. The normal Rena wore simple clothes, her hair in a ponytail, and low sensible shoes. She wasn’t a fashion disaster as some might say, but she wasn’t exactly a fashion queen either. Rena didn’t know if her now stylish pretty reflection pleased her or just made her feel uncomfortable. She was leaning more towards the latter. She was never of fan of wearing such flashy clothes. She hated drawing attention to herself. Rena was broken away from her thoughts when she heard a faint knock on her door. “Coming!” Rena yelled as she tried to make her way to the door without falling. Stupid high heel shoes, Rena cursed mentally as she narrowly avoided a probably disastrous fall.

Finally Rena opened the door to reveal her best friend, Kashiwagi Yuki, on the other side. Yuki was even more dressed up than Rena wearing a more elaborate hairdo with a pretty braid on the side, a long red strapless dress, and huge crystal earrings. Yuki looked like she was going to some type of fancy ball while Rena looked like she was going to a semi-formal restaurant. Rena raised an eyebrow at her friend’s attire. “Don’t you think you are a little overdressed?” Rena asked her friend gesturing towards her dress. Yuki merely chuckled at this statement. “If anything you’re the one that is a little underdressed. These things are supposed to be really elegant. You don’t have any jewelry?” Yuki questioned. “Yuki you know I don’t like that sort of thing so I don’t even own jewelry,” Rena answered slightly defensively. Rena didn’t see anything wrong with her outfit. It was nice the way it was. Jewelry would be way too much in her opinion. Yuki sighed in defeat. Rena was never going to change. “Have it your way. Let’s go before we run late,” Yuki told her. Rena nodded and quickly grabbed her purse.

The two girls were headed to a concert venue in Sunshine Sakae to watch the world-renowned Saito Kinen Orchestra perform. The two girls were huge fans of classical music and were beyond trilled when they learned the orchestra was performing so close to home. It was a dream come true. The only downside at least to Rena was that those types of events required dressing up in evening wear. Rena wasn’t one for that sort of thing since she was a rather awkward person, but she wasn’t going to miss out on such an amazing opportunity to hear her favorite orchestra live. Even if she had to wear shoes that made her stumble every time she took a step. “Hey I hear this local seventeen year old prodigy is opening the show with a violin solo. Supposedly she is really amazing,” Yuki informed Rena as they got into the car. Rena’s eyes widen in sheer surprise. “A seventeen year old?! That’s insane! There are countless of well-seasoned musicians that would kill for that spot. That girl must be truly skilled!” Rena exclaimed a bit overexcited. The violin was her favorite instrument and it wasn’t often you got to hear a good solo. Still a seventeen year old. That was truly amazing.

At seventeen Rena’s biggest accomplishment was getting out of bed to go to school on her own. She could never picture herself doing something so big at that age. “I know right? I guess some people just have some crazy natural ability,” Yuki commented thoughtfully. Rena nodded in agreement. Finally the two arrived at the venue and gave their tickets at the gate. Although they were already inside the venue there was a huge line to go into the concert hall where the concert was taking place and Rena felt her natural processes begin to bug her. “Hey can you save my seat? I need to go to the restroom,” Rena told her friend. Yuki nodded, “Sure go ahead, but don’t take too long. The show starts in ten minutes.” “Thanks,” Rena said and looked around searching for the restroom. The venue was huge and the hallways long. Maybe the restroom was a bit further down. Rena began walked aimlessly her feet aching since she was not used to walking in high heels. It didn’t take long for her to get lost. Completely and utterly lost. Rena sighed. I guess I should give up on finding the restroom if I don’t want to miss the show, Rena thought.

Rena took a couple of steps backwards trying to head back to the venue, but there was two hallways to take and Rena couldn’t figure out from which she came from. She been walking for a long time so if she went the wrong way she would be wasting a lot of time. At this rate she was going to miss the show. Rena felt stupid for not thinking of asking for directions in such a huge place. The hallway she was in was empty so there was no one she could ask now. Rena resisted the urge to cry. She spend hundred dollars in that ticket and she didn’t know if the orchestra would come back to perform to Nagoya. She wanted to text Yuki, but at the same time she didn’t want her friend to miss part of the show because of her absentmindedness. “Are you lost?” a voice suddenly asked behind her throwing Rena off guard. Rena lost her balance and began her descend downwards until a pair of hands secured her waist helping her regain her balance. Rena looked over her shoulder to find herself looking at the most beautiful girl she ever seen. The girl had friendly, yet cool dark brown eyes and jet black hair. Rena couldn’t think of any adequate words to describe her because she felt everything paled in comparison. She looked like something straight out of a dream. Rena didn’t immediately answer her question too dazed to remember what the girl had asked.

“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to fright you,” The girl told her making Rena come to her senses. She had been gawking at a total stranger for goodness sake! Her face immediately redden and she instantly stepped away from the girl. Rena was once more awestruck by the girl’s looks now that she got a better look at her. The girl was wearing a long black dress that clung to her body and simple, but long crystal earrings. Her attire was not utterly elaborate, and yet that was all she needed to make Rena feel horribly underdressed. She regretted not listening to Yuki. “It’s alright. I just got lost looking for the restroom that’s all,” Rena explained trying her best to not seem like she was staring at the girl. Which she was kind of was. It was a bit hard not to. The pretty girl smiled and gestured to the doors ahead that read “Staff Restroom”. “You may use those if you like,” the girl told her. “B-But wouldn’t I get into some sort of trouble for that?” Rena questioned not being one for breaking the rules. Call her uptight, but the idea simply bothered her. She had always been a good kid her mom would always say. The taller girl flashed her a cheshire smile and tossed something at her. Rena caught it, but just barely her hands fumbling. Rena found a black card in her hands. It had a string attached that allowed you to put it around your neck and the word “Staff” was written in bold sliver letters. Rena looked back at the girl with a confused look in her face. “You work here?” Rena asked wondering why a staff member would be dressed so fancy. It didn’t make any sense to her. The girl mysterious chuckled and shook her head. “Not quite. I am just temporary helping out with the orchestra thing so I was given the card,” the girl answered giving a rather vague response.

Rena wanted to ask more since the answer was so bizarre, but the word orchestra reminded her she only had a couple of minutes before the show began. “Thanks,” Rena told the girl and made her way to the restroom. Luckily for her it was unoccupied. The restroom was a one person restroom so the other girl politely waited outside for Rena to get out. Once out of the restroom, Rena realized there was only two minutes left for the show to begin. She needed to get back to the concert hall as soon as possible. After giving the card back to the girl, Rena asked, “Is there any way you can take me back to the main concert hall?” The girl bit her lip and shook her head sadly. “I need to get going backstage now, but if you wait here I can take you after the intro performance.” After the intro performance…

That meant Rena would miss the violin solo. Rena bit her lip. She really wanted to see the performance. “Are you sure? I was really looking forward to that performance…” Rena’s voice trailed off her voice a bit down. The girl looked surprised. “You were? But that is only a regular local girl performing,” the girl pointed out. Rena looked thoughtful and then said, “True, but to be performing with such a famous orchestra at such a young age she must be amazing. Not to mention I love the violin.” The girl suddenly smiled then she looked conflicted then determined. “Oh screw it,” she said and grabbed Rena’s hand. Rena felt her cheeks heat up at the intimate gesture and struggled to follow the girl’s lead. Rena’s heart was beating fast causing her to become confused. It was only another girl holding her hand so why would her heart be beating… Fast?

“W-W-Where are we going?” Rena managed to ask the girl after catching her breath. The girl looked back at Rena and grinned. “Say how do you feel about watching the performance backstage? I’ll even introduce you to the violin player,” the girl said with a mischievous grin. Rena’s eyes widen. “Really?!” Rena asked her voice excited at the prospect. She never thought something like that could happen to her. Sure it wasn’t something incredibly amazing if you thought about, but Rena found it exciting nonetheless.  “Really, but we better hurry or we miss the show,” the taller girl answered. The girl rushed them backstage where they were greeted by another staff member. This member however was dressed in a regular uniform instead of being dressed elegantly. Rena, however, didn’t put much thought into this.  “Get to the waiting area. Your stuff is already there. You will be called soon and who is this?” the staff member whose name tag read Takahashi barked. Rena suddenly felt like she was intruding, but the other girl wasn’t even frazzled by this. Maybe she was used to it. “Just a friend and I’ll be there soon don’t worry,” the girl reassured the staff member. The other girl seemed to relax at her words a bit. “Okay just hurry,” the staff member answered shooing them away.

The mysterious girl took her to the part of the backstage where the performers walk in and out of the main stage. From there Rena could see Yuki sitting in the front row sitting next to an emotionless, yet very cute girl. There were no seats next to her. She could tell Yuki was fuming her phone in her hands. She was probably texting her she couldn’t find a seat. Sure enough her phone began to vibrate in her purse. Rena pulled it out and read:

Yuki: Where the hell are you? I couldn’t save a seat cause some idiot refused to accept the concept that I saved it for someone.

Rena chuckled picturing how that argument might have been like. Yuki was sweet, but she could be rather stubborn at times.

Rena: It’s alright and ummm somehow I ended up backstage. Long story, but I probably will watch the show from here. Don’t worry about it.

With that Rena put the phone away. One minute till the show started. “I hope you enjoy the performance,” the short girl said behind her. Rena jumped a little. She had forgotten she was there for a brief moment. “Yeah,” was all Rena answered a light tint of pink in her cheeks. Maybe it was her imagination, but the girl’s voice sounded slightly… Seductive? The announcer passed by them and finally made it to the mic to announce the first performance. Rena thought it was odd. The violin player was nowhere to be seen and yet the violin was right next to the stage ready to go. However before Rena could ask the girl next to her the announcer said, “Please welcome to the stage our very own prodigy, Matsui Jurina.” Rena spun around, but she found no one, but the odd girl behind her grabbing the violin case. Then it hit her. “You’re the violin player…” Rena’s voice trailed off at the end for she was so surprised. The girl, Jurina, simply smiled and said, “And here I thought you’ll never catch on.” She took off again walking towards the stage leaving a confused Rena behind. She been talking to a seventeen year old?!?! But Jurina looked her age or older! It was unbelievable!  Jurina smiled at the audience and leaned into the mic. “I’ll be performing Bach’s Sonata No.1 in G minor. I hope you guys enjoy,” Jurina stated. There was a slight moment of silence and then Jurina began to play. It was beautiful. Nothing could describe the feeling Rena felt when she heard such wonderful music. She was completely swept away by the mere power of Jurina’s performance. And it wasn’t just that. The girl’s grace while she played was mesmerizing. Rena couldn’t take her eyes off her. Something about it made her heart beat faster and Rena wasn’t sure if it was the music or the beautiful girl.  Maybe it was both. Once the performance finished the concert arena was full of loud applauses. Jurina bowed and joined her back stage.

Rena suddenly felt awkward recalling her words to Jurina earlier about the violin player that turned out to be her. Hopefully she didn’t think she was weird or anything. Why did Rena always have to say the first thing that came into her mind? “So did you like it?” Jurina asked shyly as she set her violin down. “Like it? That was amazing!” Rena blurted out not believing that the younger girl was asking her that question. How could she not see how wonderful her playing was? Even when Rena brought it up earlier she didn’t seem too confident in it. Rena couldn’t fathom the reason. Jurina smiled. “I am glad. I really wanted to impress you considering you are a violin fan and all,” Jurina told her flashing her a catlike smile. Rena felt her heart speed up once more. What is this feeling? My heart won’t seem to settle down…

“R-Really? Well you did,” Rena answered nervously. Jurina grinned and said, “Anyways we need to move since the orchestra will be coming through soon. Do you wanna see something interesting? You won’t regret it I promise,” Jurina said before taking Rena’s hand once more. Rena blushed and then it hit her. Oh god I think I might like this girl… What are you saying Rena? She is way younger than you! “W-Where are we going?” Rena asked as Jurina dragged her up some stairs that led to a higher ground in the stage. “You’ll see soon enough. It will be worth it. I promise,” Jurina said with a dazzling smile. Rena felt herself blush at how cute the girl looked. Rena felt a bit odd. She never ever in her life felt attracted to someone especially another girl, but something about Jurina was making her heart beat faster for some reason. Was this what people called love at first sight? “Watch your step,” Jurina warned as she stepped on a platform that overlooked the stage.

Rena nodded a little scared since they were far from the ground already. She wasn’t scared of heights per say, but she wasn’t sure if what they were doing was safe. She didn’t hesitate to voice these concerns. “Matsui-san are you sure this is safe?” Rena asked in a worried tone. “Call me Jurina. And don’t worry this is perfectly save. I been here several times this week while helping out. Hurry up and join me. You don’t know what you are missing,” Jurina urged her. Rena blushed at the bold request and nodded. “Alright Jurina-san,” Rena mumbled a bit embarrassed. She couldn’t believe a girl six years younger than her was making her so nervous. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Jurina chuckled at this and said.

“Drop the –san. There is no need to be so formal. Come to think of it I never even got your name,” Jurina commented. Rena finally reached the top and hoisted herself up with the help of Jurina. She couldn’t help, but to feel butterflies in her stomach when Jurina touched her hands to pull her up. “It’s Matsui Rena,” Rena finally said when she landed in firm ground. “Oh we have the same surname!” the younger girl exclaimed excitedly. Rena smiled at this. She was just too adorable. Were all seventeen year olds like this or was it a Jurina thing? Jurina started walking on the platform which scared Rena to death, but she followed nonetheless careful not to look down. Finally Jurina stopped and sat down. Rena joined her, but was oddly confused. Then she heard the orchestra and she looked down.

Below been she would see the concert from the most amazing view and the sound was amazing. It was amazing! “Do you regret coming?” Jurina asked. Almost as if she was worried Rena didn’t like the place she took her to. “Are you kidding? This is amazing! I bet it sounds better than the actual audience seats!” Rena exclaimed happily. “You have a pretty smile,” Jurina suddenly blurted out causing both Rena and Jurina to turn bright red in the process. Rena looked down at the orchestra and shyly mumbled, “Thank you.” It was nice watching the orchestra, but the air seemed slightly… Tense after Jurina’s compliment. Both girls were suddenly too shy to talk and lucky the show gave them an excuse to stay quiet. Finally the show was over and Jurina stood up extending her hand to help Rena. Rena took it gratefully. She hadn’t expected much by doing that, but suddenly Jurina pulled her towards her and pressed her lips against Rena’s.

Rena could only turn red and stare at the young girl in shock as soft lips assaulted her own. If Rena thought her heart was beating faster before it was nothing compared to the speed in which it was beating now. While she would very much like to kiss the girl back she was too shocked to even move. Jurina pulled away quickly her face guarded. She took two steps back from Rena. “Sorry that was rash of me,” the younger girl said softly her voice breaking. Rena stared at her awestruck. It was only until Jurina turned around to leave that she began to panic at the thought of the girl completely misunderstanding her. “It’s not like I hated it,” Rena managed to say her lips still tingling from the kiss.

Jurina spun around surprised. “You didn’t?” She asked in a hopeful voice. Rena shook her head in response. “I was just surprised that all. It was a bit sudden and I didn’t know how to react,” Rena admitted too embarrassed to even look at Jurina. Jurina stepped closer to Rena until their faces were only inches apart. “So then you don’t mind if I do it again?” Jurina asked softly eyeing Rena’s lips. This time it was Rena’s turn to shock Jurina by closing the space between them. Jurina instantly began kissing her back wrapping her arms around her neck pushing them closer. The kiss was longer than the first and much more passionate. Rena couldn’t believe she was having her first kiss with a total stranger and yet it felt right. The two pulled away out of breath both smiling. “You should give me your number,” Jurina said a bit out of breath because of the kiss. Rena smiled and kissed the girl’s forehead. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure you leave with it,” Rena reassured her. And so Rena did give Jurina her number. Two weeks later the two went on their first date and the rest is history. And while Rena did feel slightly bad for ditching Yuki that day, Yuki did end up kissing someone later on the night as well so it all worked out perfectly.

Part 1: Christmas Eve

“Pour me one more,” Rena grumbled at the bartender. The bartender didn’t turn around, but Rena thinks she spoke in a loud enough voice. She sighed as she looked at her empty cup. It wasn’t like her to get drunk especially on Christmas day, but it hadn’t exactly been her day either. Everything and I do mean everything had gone wrong. First of all, the Christmas presents she ordered online which were guaranteed to arrive on the morning of Christmas Eve did not arrive. She been waiting for them to arrive all morning until she decided to check the delivery tracker online. Her order was still in Tokyo rather than Nagoya like it should be.

Upset Rena phoned the company only to get no solution to her problem after spending two hours on the phone. So there she was on the verge of the biggest holiday of the year with no Christmas presents. Sure everyone says Christmas is not about the presents, but come on who are we kidding? Christmas is totally all about the presents. To make matters worse her mother had warned her something like this could happen, but Rena had been too stubborn to listen. She could practically hear her mother’s voice droning on and on about the importance of getting these things done on time.

And that is only the tip of the iceberg. Apparently Rena’s cousin, Miyuki, would be spending the holidays at their house this year. Why would that be a bad thing? Well for one Miyuki loathed Rena. They been rivals since the moment they met (at the tender age of five) and could not be in the same room together without there being trouble. By the way, this wasn’t even Rena’s fault. Rena could care less whether Miyuki had better hair or had higher grades, but Miyuki had made it her job to make her life a living hell. Lucky her. When they were five, Miyuki cut off Rena’s beautiful braid forcing Rena to have the worst short cut in the existence to short cuts to this day.

Even just thinking about it made Rena want to cry. When they were eight, Miyuki purposely broke Rena’s Gameboy by throwing it against the wall only to claim it was an accident in front of her parents. It only got worst with the years. At high school she began stealing Rena’s boyfriends. Now apparently she was also into stealing fiancés. Yup that put a cherry on top on this wonderful Christmas Eve. Rena had only gone to help her mother prepare the meal for a few seconds when Miyuki was already making out with her fiancé Sae-kun in the coach. Not only that, but the little slut pointed at the mistletoe as if that was a reasonable excuse for her actions.

To make matters worse Rena was 100% sure that her fiancé was kissing Miyuki back. So thanks to that she ran away from her families’ Christmas Eve party ignoring her fiancé’s shouts for her to come back and ended up in a small nearby bar getting drunk off her ass. Something she only done one other time in her life time and that was her 21st birthday a couple of months ago. And that wasn’t even done willingly. It was her friend Airi’s bright idea. Let’s just say Rena isn’t exactly good with alcohol. At least she didn’t have to deal with happy cheerful Christmas obsessed people here. Everyone looked as miserable as she was.

Then again that should have been obvious. Who else other than Christmas hating people would be in a bar in the biggest holiday of the year? Rena scoffed at the thought of the holiday she once held in a high place in the list of her favorite things. What a joke. Rena looked down at her cup only to realize it was still empty. “Hey! I asked for another drink,” Rena barked at the bartender. She was aware this wasn’t exactly polite (especially since this poor person was stuck working on the holidays) and she normally wasn’t like this, but she couldn’t help herself. She was just too bitter at the moment. And drunk. Very very drunk.

The bartender turned around and put her hand on her hip. She didn’t look that much older than Rena. In fact she looked around Rena’s age. She had long black hair held in a ponytail and impressive eyes. The look in them was almost intimating and under any other circumstances Rena would have probably averted her eyes at such a strong presence. But this was not the usual Rena. Finally the bartender sighed and said, “I heard you alright, but I am not gonna serve you another drink. You’re drunk.” Rena scoffed at this. “Of course I am. It’s a bar. Everyone here is drunk by the way and you are serving them!” Rena objected crossing her arms. Her tone changed from angry to slightly whiny which made the bartender smile.

“First of all, everyone here is over 100 pounds which mean they can handle more alcohol in their system. Furthermore you don’t look like the type of girl that normally comes to bars and gets drunk. You are seriously going to have a hangover tomorrow. I hope you are aware of that,” the bartender warned her. Rena pouted, but the girl was right. She was the lightest person in the room. “Oh come on! Regardless it’s too late. I am already gonna have a hangover in the morning and probably a hold other set of problems for bailing on my mother’s party. At least let me enjoy it to the fullest with… Whatever you served me earlier,” Rena insisted craving more of the sweet, yet very alcoholic beverage she had earlier that evening.

Her begging didn’t convince the bartender however and she just proceeded to pick up Rena’s empty cups. Great first no presents, then no fiancé and now no drinks. Just great. Stupid bartender with those pretty eyes. “So why you did you run away from your mother’s Christmas party anyways?” the bartender asked nonchalantly clearly trying to distract Rean from asking for more drinks. While Rena didn’t really feel like talking about it, she also felt like venting. And what better than to vent to a perfect stranger she never see again?

“My stupid fiancé was making out with my bitch of a cousin that’s what happened. Oh and did I mention the Christmas presents didn’t get here on time? And all the stupid lady on the phone could say was ‘Oh there was a snow storm. A white Christmas in Tokyo is pretty rare isn’t it?’ As if I give a damn about a white Christmas in Tokyo!” Rena practically shouted nearly breaking the glass in her hand. The bartender was amused and Rena did not miss it. “Why the fuck are you smiling? Do you think this is funny?” Rena snapped.

The girl instantly tried to hide her amusement. “I am sorry. It’s not that the situation is funny. It’s just the way that you are telling it sounds funny. Sorry. It sounds like an awful day,” the girl apologized. At this Rena calmed down. “Okay good,” was all she said feeling a bit guilty for chewing out the poor girl. The two were silent for a moment and then the girl went to go pour someone a drink. Rena didn’t think she would come back, but then she heard, “I am Jurina by the way. Matsui Jurina.” “I am Matsui Rena,” Rena said a little shyly in spite of the way she had been speaking to the other girl the entire night. Jurina smiled at this.

“How cool. We have the same last name. You know if we got married neither of us would have to change our last name at all,” Jurina told her with a catlike smile. Rena instantly blushed some of her normal personality showing. “Married?!” she yelped surprised at Jurina’s bold remark. Jurina moved closer to her putting her elbows on the bar placing one of her hands on her cheek lazily. She had a goofy grin in her face which Rena couldn’t help, but find cute and charming. “Yeah married. I think you’re cute and you’re drunk which means you are probably even cuter when you are sober,” Jurina complimented causing the other Matsui to turn red like a tomato.

She never ever been hit on by another girl before and she had no idea what to do. “I am not even into girls! I think…” She said the last part quieter, but Jurina caught it. Jurina giggled. “How about we go to my apartment after my shift is over and I change your mind?” Jurina suggested with quite a seductive voice. Rena gulped her heart beating quite fast. How did she end up in this situation? Jurina was cute, but even so… “Hey I may be drunk, but I am not that drunk,” Rena warned the other girl. Did she find Jurina attractive? Yes probably more than she ever found another girl attractive. But that didn’t mean she was quite ready to sleep with another girl. Especially one she just met. Like she said she was drunk, but not that drunk.

At this comment Jurina burst out laughing and moved away from Rena a little much to her relief. Her heart was able to settle down a bit. “Yup I like you, but that’s not what I had in mind. I thought we could have coffee or something. I mean normally when I invite a girl out to coffee we go out to a coffee shop but no offense you don’t look like you are in any shape to be out with normal civilians and I am also a little scared to send you home on your own. So what do you say?” Jurina asked her voice compelling. Normally this was way too crazy for Rena, but then again it was better than crying over her fiancé in her apartment all alone. Rena finally nodded.

“I think I like that. As long as there is no funny business,” Rena warned her once again. Jurina beamed and chuckled. “No funny business. I promise. Look I get out in an hour. Can you sit tight without another drink?” Jurina asked. Rena frowned, but nodded. “Fine have it your way,” she grumbled remembering what she wanted was another drink in the first place. But then again this was so much better.

Rena grimaced as she felt a massive throbbing in her head. Ugh. She tried to sleep it off, but nope the headache was here to stay. She finally got up and rubbed her eyes. Finally taking a look around she realized she was not in her apartment. She looked down. And these were most definitely not her P.Js. Ehh??? Rena was about to start freaking out when a familiar voice said, “You know you are not a very fun date. You passed out the moment you got here and threw up on the way here if I must add.” Memories of last night flooded back to her and she momentary relaxed before panicking again. Oh god she had never been so embarrassed in her life! “Did I??? And my clothes?” Rena managed to say her cheeks bright red.

Jurina took a seat next to her in her bed and passed her a cup of coffee. Rena smiled and mumbled, “Thanks.” Jurina returned the smile and then said, “I know you said no funny business, but you kind of got vomit in your clothes so I figure I change you before taking you to my bed. I also figured giving you the bed was the polite thing to do.” Rena used her free hand to cover her face. She wanted to die. “I am so so sorry. God this is so embarrassing,” Rena moaned. Her headache if anything had increased. Jurina laughed and patted her back. “It’s alright. I didn’t mind. However I am expecting you to make up for that date,” Jurina told her. Rena blushed her heart beating faster. “Date?! But I really don’t date girls! Seriously!” Rena exclaimed panicking. Jurina pouted.

“Eh??? But you even said I was cute last night and that you would marry me!” Jurina shot back. Rena searched her head for that memory, but didn’t find it. God! How much had she drank? “But I can’t date a girl! I never dated a girl before! And… You seduced me last night with that stupid smile of yours! That isn’t fair!” Rena accused crossing her arms. Jurina’s smile returned and she inched closer to Rena. Rena noted in spite the girl being in the bar all night she smelled pretty good. Sound sort of like citrus. Rena winced realizing she probably smelled like vomit. Great more embarrassment. “You know my seductive smile only works around girls who like other girls,” Jurina stated. Rena wanted to deny this, but nothing came to mind. Screw it. She be lying to herself if she said she didn’t feel a spark between her and Jurina. Even if Jurina was a girl.

Plus no one she knew would ever care for a total drunk stranger that much. It was pretty much the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for her. Jurina grinned and kissed Rena’s nose causing her to nearly drop her coffee cup. She then got up and proceed to grab a banana. “Don’t be disappointed I didn’t kiss your lips. I like you, but you threw up last night. So again about that date…” Jurina bought up again clearly not giving up. And Rena was pretty glad she wasn’t. She liked Jurina, but she knew she never have the courage to pursuit another girl unless she was pushed into it. “Just give me a couple of hours to sober up a bit,” Rena finally said surrendering to Jurina’s demands. “Of course. I look forward to meeting the sober Rena. Oh and by the way you didn’t actually say I was cute nor that I was going to marry you. I said that, but it’s good to know you think my smile is seductive,” Jurina admitted sounding pretty smug.

Rena opened her mouth and closed it again. This girl was too unbelievable. “You’re insane!” Rena exclaimed. Jurina laughed. “Maybe, but you’ll love me for it. You’ll see,” Jurina reassured her before getting up. Rena pouted, but deep down she had a feeling the other girl was right. “Okay so I have my next swift from 1-4 so I was thinking 4:30 is enough time for us to meet. Also don’t you dare go take back your fiancé back in those 4 hours. You already have a girlfriend so you tell him that when he comes looking for you,” Jurina told her. Sae-kun. Rena had already forgotten all about it. But it really wasn’t bothering her as much as it should. Odd. Then Rena realized Jurina was calling herself her girlfriend and blushed. “F-Fine, but you better not go around making out with my cousin,” Rena warned her tone quite dark. Jurina laughed.

“Well I can’t make any promises. If cuteness runs in the family that be pretty difficult,” Jurina teased. Rena nearly threw her coffee cup at her. “JURINA!” Rena all, but screamed. “Kidding kidding, but we see each other later right?” this time she sounded unsure. As if she was barely realizing the insanity of the situation. Rena got up and placed her cup on a nearly table. She proceeded to hug Jurina from behind who was standing by the sink. “Of course we will silly. We are getting married aren’t we? Cause the names work so well. Now where are my clothes?” Rena asked while the other girl blushed like crazy.

It was nice to see the tables turn for once. “T-They are in the restroom on the sink. But I warn you they are still dirty. You’re going to have to borrow something of mine,” Jurina said. Rena nodded and felt a little embarrassed again. “Alright,” Rena answered pulling away from the hug much to Jurina’s disappointment. She proceeded to head to the restroom to find her clothes exactly where Jurina said they were. She then looked at her reflection in the mirror. Funny. It didn’t look like the reflection of someone whose fiancé just cheated on them. It was crazy and yet somehow Rena couldn’t be happier. Maybe Christmas wasn’t so bad after all. She did find the person she was going to get married to after all.
