Shoko's 1st concert debuted at #5 on oricon weekly music dvd chart!!

2008/01/14 (week1) #5
2008/01/21 (week2) #6

Keep in mind that new year's oricon week is in fact 2 weeks combined, so it's a pretty great result! Hopefully I'll find the exact sales' figures later...

Live performance in studio of Snow Tears

Looked at the concert DVD, I think Shoko was a little nervous at the very start, but some good performances in it. I like her voice in the more intimate ballads. I liked the bit after the Seiko Matsuda medly where she ran about on the stage. The sound tends to be a bit echoey and weaker in big venues, I like the sound more in TV studios normally. But the lighting and the whole production I thought looked good. Have any subtitles been done yet for her DVDs?

Snow Tears is a decent power ballad, hope she gets her first number 1.

Shoko was funny in those drama scenes, bringing out the comedic side of her I mentioned.

Yeh I'm interested in anything Shoko.

Are her Yumeriji shows uploaded anywhere too? That seems to have been her main show, and the whole format seems perfect for her (interviewing, singing, drawing, messing about, directly engaging with the audience).

That's the first day sales I think (if I understand the Oricon site correctly), hopefully by the end of the week she'll have the weekly number 1. It's a good start, she beat the other new entries.

The other two songs on the single aren't bad either. Kimi ni Meroron is a kind of catchy 80s style pop song and Winter Wish is a ballad in the same style as Snow Tears.
