Chapter 1Nagoya, Japan“Good morning, Rena-chan…” said a puppy like girl to the raven haired woman who just woke up beside her.
“Morning, Jurina. What time is it?” asked Rena while sitting up.
“It’s 6.45. We still have time before we leave for work…” said Jurina with a sly smile and suddenly pulled Rena down to her and made Rena lie on top of her.
“Stop it, Jurina. We’ll be late for work…” Rena tried to get up and escape from Jurina’s hug.
“Don’t worry. We still have time…” said Jurina while kissing Rena’s neck.
“No. If we do it, We’ll be late for work…” Rena forcefully pulled herself from Jurina’s embrace and got out from the bed.
“Mou…Rena-chan is so cold”. Pouted Jurina. Rena just rolled her eyes seeing the puppy girl’s action. “Go take a shower. I’ll prepare breakfast for us.”
“Yes, ma’am”. Jurina saluted to Rena then got off the bed and walked towards the bathroom to take a shower. After finishing her shower and put on her clothes, she walked towards the kitchen. She leaned towards the wall and watched Rena moved gracefully while preparing their breakfast.
She’s so beautiful. I’m so lucky to have her beside me. Do I really deserve her? Do I have the right to be happy after what happened? Jurina was so busy with her thought she didn’t realize that Rena already finished preparing their breakfast.
“Jurina, what are you doing there? Come on, let’s eat”. Rena’s voice startled her out of her thought.
Jurina silently walked towards the dining table and paused for a moment to kiss Rena on her cheek and whispered in her ear, “I love you”. Before proceeded to sit beside Rena.
Rena seemed startled with Jurina’s action and she blushed and punched Jurina’s arm weakly. “What was that? You’re startling me”. Jurina giggled.
“I’m just doing what I want to do and saying what’s on my mind”, said Jurina while smiling sweetly. Rena rolled her eyes and said, “Just eat your breakfast”. They ate their breakfast in silence, a comfortable silence. After finishing their breakfast, Jurina washed their dishes while Rena preparing to go to work. Then they proceeded to their work place respectively.

Jurina is in her office. She was busy choosing some photos to be used at the fashion magazine where she work at, when suddenly someone knock on her door.
“Come in,” said Jurina.
A short girl who looked like a squirrel then walked in. “There’s someone looking for you downstairs. She said that she’s your friend. She’s pretty, but not as pretty as my NyanNyan. Who is she? Do you have any appointment today? Are you cheating on Rena?” asked the squirrel girl suspiciously.
“Shut up, Yuko. I don’t know who she is. And I’m not cheating on Rena. I love her.” Jurina herself was confused. She only knew very few people in this town and she can’t exactly call them her friend either. She kept them at arm’s length all the time. No one can get too close to her except Rena.
I wonder who is it.
Jurina then got out from her office and went downstairs to meet her guest. When she finally saw her guest, she stopped abruptly and stared at the woman who stood in front of her in shock.
“Well, hello, Matsui Jurina. Long time no see…” said the woman in front of Jurina.
“Ma-Ma-Mariko-sama? What are you doing here?! How did you find me?” asked Jurina.
“Well…I’m here to see what my favorite student has been up to these days. And, how did I find you? Hmm…I have my sources” said Mariko with a sly smile. “Let’s go out and have lunch together. I’m hungry”.
After Jurina got over her shock for meeting her mentor for the first time after two years. The two of them went out to a nearby restaurant. They picked a table in the corner of the room.
While waiting for their food, Mariko spoke up, “So, a photographer, huh?”
“Yeah…I always want to be a photographer,” smiled Jurina.
“You seem happy. It’s good to see you happy. Who is she?”
“What are you talking about? Who are you talking about?” asked Jurina innocently.
Mariko narrowed her eyes at Jurina’s answer. “The woman you fall in love with. Who is she? You can’t lie to me, Juriboy”.
Jurina sighed. “Her name is Matsui Rena. She’s 25 years old and a bakery owner”.
Mariko smiled. “I want to meet her someday. I want to meet the person who is able to bring your smile back”. Mariko paused a bit and said in a serious tone, “Did you told her about you? About your past and what you did in the past? Did she know about Center?”
When Jurina heard about Mariko’s question, she frowned. “No… I didn’t. And I don’t want to tell her about what happened. I don’t want to tell her what I did in the past and more importantly, I don’t want her to know about Center”.
They paused a bit when the waiter come with their order.
Jurina then decided to change the topic. “How long will you be in here?”
“Not long. I have to go soon. I have job to do. I’m coming here just to check up on you”.
Jurina pouted. “I want you to meet Rena-chan, though.”
“Maybe next time, kiddo,” said Mariko and she reached out and ruffled Jurina’s hair affectionately.
They continued eating while chatting randomly. After finishing eating, Mariko paid their bill. They got out from the restaurant and before they parted ways, Mariko pulled Jurina into a hug and whispered in her ear, “Call me if you need anything. You know how to contact me.” Jurina nodded in Mariko’s hug. But then she pulled out and stared into Mariko’s eyes and she asked softly, “Do I deserve her? Do I deserve to be happy? After what happened, do I have the right to be happy?”
Mariko could see the uncertainty and insecurity in Jurina’s eyes. She cupped the younger girl’s cheek and said softly, “Everyone deserves to be happy. She’s your happiness now. Don’t let your mind tell you otherwise. Follow your heart”. Mariko then let Jurina go.
“Un. Thank you, Mariko-sama. And be careful on your job”.
“Sure. Bye, Jurina. See you.”
“Bye. See you.”
