Yea, somehow her speech made me less worried now. It's really great and touching... I feel she's more like Nakazawa than Kaori, who managed to find the balance between getting all serious and having fun with members.

Thanks a lot for the translation of Yossi's speech, it was quite touching.
And it was a tough speech as well, being pushed into leadership so quickly and one of the first speeches you have to pull off is something like this...

Yossi's voice was so feminine, stable and calm... I'm so touched. Also thanks to the wota who recorded this nearly perfectly. This the best concert rip I've heard so far. Now only if they'd put up Haru no Uta rip soon................

I'm little disappointed, because I thought Yossi would give something new information about Yaguchi, but instead she said less than we already know. But of course the concert isn't the right place to chew over Yaguchi case.

One can always count on Yossi to keep her head...as long as she's not on a roller coaster. Seeing and hearing her being able to keep her composure (BTW, thanks to ~Dan~ and Redturtle for getting the mp3 rips), it's reassuring.

I didn't hear a single person shout Mari's name, so fan co-operation seems to have worked. I'm sure they'd have cried if people would have started a Mari chant.

It's the same as earlier setlists except Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari 2 has been replaced by Osaka Koi no Uta.

I was expecting them to sing JKM2 and wondering how it'd sound with Mari's verse cut out, but that song has been replaced by the new single. It'd have been a nice gesture if they'd done JKM2 just one last time and played the recorded vocals for Mari's verse.

Some of this has been mentioned already, but here is a summary of the articles linked on Centuryland published after the concert:

- Rehearsal before the concert ran 4 hours, twice normal, in order to re-form the dances, etc.

- The afternoon show opened about 30 minutes late.

- Approximate attendance of that show: 2000

- According to Sanspo, there was only one request for a refund. The ten tickets to be sold on-site were distributed by raffle to the first 50 to arrive. There were no scalpers (visible).

- The usual member introduction was skipped.

- After Yossi's line, "Yaguchi is not at today's performance. We are very sorry," the members bowed.

- At least Konno and Reina were crying at this point.

- In an unprecedented happening, about 1000 fans without tickets came from across the country and gathered outside the event to show their support for Yaguchi's return.

- A petition was begun outside the concert hall, requesting Yaguchi's return. Quoth a petitioner, "We'll be collecting signatures at all the events in this tour....The necessity for Yaguchi to quit, her manner of thinking, her feelings: we fans want to hear this firsthand."(Source) Quoth another, "It's fine to be in love, but we want you to come back. We want to hear your true feelings." (Source)

- There are no plans for a press conference. Quoth UFA, "It's as we said in the fax on the 14th. We can't say anything more than that." Big props to whoever recorded this.

This is a good example of how much MM fans care about the girls. While here a "western" audience would have immediately started a "We want Mari" chant, the Japanese fans know how upsetting that would be for the girls, especially the younger/more emotional ones. They had the self-discipline to control themselves so as to let the girls get through the show.

I think they were right to remove JKM2. If they HAD chosen to keep it in they should've removed Mari's part. You read how upset Konkon and Reina were during Yossi's opening speech. If they had done JKM2 and had to hear Mari's voice in the playback, many of the girls could have/would have lost it right there on stage...concert be damned.

(OK. that joke only works on Redturtle and tama-chan cuz they admit it!! not like me going out to dinner with my fam is having a life either!)

But damn straight. Props to our fellow fanboys/girls on the frontline. I like the idea of a petition for Mari returning...this whole timing of her pix is sickening as it takes away from Rika's Big Day. Just like Nacchi's scandal upsurped Kaori's grad. It was all about Nacchi not being there.

Yay for the petition! Good idea.

I was hoping some Mari cheering from audience, but like you said, maybe it was better this way, not upsetting the girls.

The bad thing is that UFA still remains silent about this... But maybe it's better than making more too fast decisions.
