But they don't say that the girls can't have boyfriends, they just say that "if you have a boyfriend, tell us," which I think is a good idea.

If this is true, then I think it could mean that Yaguchi was kicked out, but I still wouldn't understand why UFA would do that.

I'm thinking it's about image. Not only can the girls be role models for other Japanese girls in general, but they're obviously got a MAJOR fanboy following. TPTB probably fear losing the fanboys if they find out their favorite MM member has a boyfriend. Unfair? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Unwarrented? Definitely. But unfortunately I've heard it's happened before. I only wish I knew to whom it's happened.

Yep, Like I've said, this H!P's "virgins with no life"-image is so stupid, but it will probably sell. But do those fanboys really think that their 22-year-old idol don't have any life outside H!P? At least many of them have signed that petition.

It's probably because they've lost most of their fans, and of the ones who are left, the ones who spend the most money by far are the freaks who buy 20 copies of every PB, go to every concert, and essentially live with the fantasy that the girls belong to them. Those freaks are UFA's bread-and-butter. To satisfy them, Yaguchi could easily be sacrificed. She was probably making way more than the youngsters anyway, and UFA could see it as an easy cost-cutting measure.

Or it could be that she was offered the opportunity to recant and stop seeing Shun publicly and she refused. Maybe UFA, said, "You disobedient child, we're gonna put you on punishment just like we did with Nacchi," and Mari said, "Oh, ya think? Well fuck alla y'all, I'm outta here."

heheh. It would be cool if she said that, but I'm talking out of my ass, obviously.

Yeah, things seem to have calmed down a bit in a week. Feelings seemed to be pretty high at all ends (Yaguchi's, Fans' and Management's). Hopefully it will turn out well.

What I hate about this is that the haters purposely leaked such a scandal as to take away from Rika's last performances. Instead of talking about Rika and her contribution to Morning Musume, we get why Yaguchi is not here. Kaori can't even pimp a movie without being asked about Yaguchi. Well, that "Didn't tell the agency" is the most believable explanation to UFA's radical actions at the moment. Hope we got some real information about this someday... Not only rumours. But maybe they really want to celebrate Rika's graduation before that.

... it's very interesting (and sad) to watch the latest Music Fighter talk segment with Yaguchi.
one can see that something is amiss.
for example, right at the beginning the girls were polled and Yaguchi indicated that she was feeling ill at ease, that she would sigh a lot, that she had nightmares... whereupon she commented that there was a lot of pressure as very important things were happening.
the younger girls look shocked and unhappy.. the older ones seemed more pensive.. no one laughed it off as Yaguchi was trying to...
and there's more throughout the entire talk....
