Well its been a year since Mari left Morning Musume. I for one feel her absence strongly. MM has taken a something of a low dip after her leaving, imo (not that I'm knocking Yossi's leadership skillsat all. I think she's doing great!).
Mari is still doing things like dramas, FCs and TV shows, but I still want to see her back in the H!P spotlight. What really makes me sad tho, is she'll never get her grad concert. That makes me want to cry when I think about it. After all she's done, like Tanpopo, Minimoni, ZYX and such, she'll never get the ultimate recognition. That's just plain wrong.  

But that's just me. How do you guys feel about Mari's lack of presence in H!P? And how has it effected you?

I've actually been a little bored by the latest couple releases. I'm not sure if that's just me though. Hopefully things will pick up this year.

Definitely not just you. I'm totally not an MM fan as of lately b/c their songs just don't appeal to me at all. Everyone seemed to love Sexy Boy and Iroppoi. I found both.. not so pleasing.

The last single I really liked by MM and still listen to constantly is Osaka Koi no Uta, so I definitely agree things have been majorly lacking without Mari's personality in the group as well as Rika's. Two major personalities leaving the group at the same time was quite destructive on how the group works as of now, both within the group as well as with management (imo!).

I really want to hear Yaguchi singing on CDs again (Berryz didn't count b/c she didn't sing by herself!). I mean, she still seems quite popular, I think, so I don't see any reason why she couldn't release something like a Folk Songs album, or even a cover album (of H!P songs) with another person who's awesome, but not doing anything (aka Kei, and I know she's in that play now, but that doesn't quite count!)

Morning Musume had been going down in my eyes already when Yaguchi suddenly left. And it surely didn't help the group.

It would be nice if they let her sing again, after all she's not a bad singer. But I guess she has been busy with her TV show and dramas. I wouldn't mind if she would act more in the future.

I hope she visits Hello!Morning again someday.

She has her own page on helloproject.com now.  Click on schedule, then click on tour.  Each artist/group has their own page and Mari was recently added.  At the moment it just has an entry for a couple of shows where she's MC.  She's been MC before so why does she get her own page now.  Hopefully it's a sign that she might get to sing soon.

She was NOT forced out by TPTB, as far as I remember.  Chances are they tried their best to covince her to stay (no doubt the girls tried to do the same), but in the end the final decision was hers.  It could be the same with her singing. Maybe she doens't want to do it (that much) anymore. Maybe she'd rather just do her MC'ing and her acting right now.

If she decides that she DOES want to start singing again, don't you think that TPTB would be all over it, doing their best to help her? Of course they would. If and when it happens, it'll happen.

Well we can't know reasons behind Mari's departure from the group for sure. If they forced her, they can't say it in public.

I think it's rather naive to think that H!P girls can do what they want and they'll always get support from the management. They do what they are told to do. The girls are just tools for making money.

Well, I for one thinks the senior members have some kind of control to what they want to do. Why would they force Yaguchi to quit, knowing that she was a popular and significant member of MM then? And if they forced her to quit, why would it be so sudden?

I think she's better off doing shows on her own than to sing. She's more like a talent than an idol now. Her CDs won't sell anyway.

i dont think she dont want to sing. i remember mari giving an interview about what would she be doing if she wasnt in MM. she said she have no idea but she'd probably be auditioning because she loves singing and really wants to be a singer.

i miss her so much. i didnt think it would make any difference but it does. after she left, MM wasnt the same any more. i dont have the little woman that i love so dearly. i really miss my mari.

Only if she sang the same style of songs that Kaori did. If she sang songs more like Nacchi or Viyuden it would probably sell better.

Agreed, and depending on how the wotas are doing with Mari's relationship, she has a better chance doing better than some of the other girls because of the TV shows she's on and co-hosting, so more people probably know of her... Maybe?

I don't know why Tsunku doesn't make a subgroup with Mari, Kaori (who's solo records didn't do that great) and Kei (who's doing nothing).  Possibly throw in Ayaka as well.  Call it Pucchi Tanpopo.  It's be a winner!
