Chapter 42[Cafeteria]
She had been glancing at the digital clock hanging on the wall at the far end of the noisy cafeteria for the past 30 minutes. And now Risa wanted to scream. The usually filled gorokkies table was deafeningly quiet. And it was understandable with just her sitting there.
It was two days after KonKon's graduation from Hello! Project with the final Wonderful Hearts Concert that night. Now without her and Makoto who had chosen to move into Asami's newly rented apartment, the number of the younger generations had officially dwindled to five. Not inclusive of Koharu. Sometimes Risa felt bad for not including miracle girl in their group activities but the girl stuck out sorely and seemed more comfortable with Berryz or C-ute anyway.
Pushing herself off the chair with both hands and picking up her tray of half eaten food, Risa had just about given up on waiting for anyone else to appear for breakfast when she caught sight of a pair of familiar figures strolling in.
"Morning Gaki-san!"
Nodding to acknowledge the greeting, Risa quickly observed the pair in front of her. Practically inseparable with their arms tightly wound around each other, they would probably be mistaken for a single person from some distance away.
"You look happy."
Sayumi blushed hard when she realized the person her senior was referring to was her. Reluctantly unlatching herself from Eri's side, the girl turned slightly to face Risa before speaking earnestly.
"I wanna thank you Gaki-san. I don't know what you did but Eririn forgave me that night. Now we're as loving as before."
The glee on Sayumi's face made Risa's voice catch in her throat. Coughing a few times, she thought of something to do.
"If only she knew."Eager to ease the guilty look that she might have let escape, Risa reached for the glass of orange juice on her tray to appear occupied. But in her hastiness, she accidentally spilled some of the freshly squeezed drink onto the table.
"I'll get some paper towels."
Offered Sayumi and as soon as she was out of earshot, Eri pulled up closer to Risa. Now their faces were only inches apart. Kinda of like how it was two nights ago.
"You don't have to feel so guilty. It's not like we did anything wrong."
"We didn't do anything wrong?!"But Risa was too mentally exhausted to go through this with Eri again. It was proven futile that night and she doubted it would make any difference today. The Erien had her own way of thinking and clearly she thought their little
"experiment" was perfectly logical.
"Let's just make sure the....
ahem... incident stays between the two of us?"
"It's between you, me and Mr Cupboard."
Eri had a straight face and her tone sounded sincere. So much so that Risa was positive the younger girl meant the cabinet/wardrobe/cupboard/whatever as a thinking, living thing.

"Okay, between the three of us."
[Member's Lounge]
"Did you see the bulletin?"
Koharu's excited voice snapped Risa from her thoughts and pulled her back to reality. Even though she was miles away thinking of what she could do to reconcile Ai and Reina, she felt obliged to answer the youngest member and always did no matter how busy she was. This time was no exception.
“What bulletin?”
“You know the one about us getting two weeks off?”
Gesturing down the corridor to where the member’s notice board was situated, Koharu jumped around elatedly like a kid with a new toy.
“Two weeks off eh.”
Mumbling to herself, Risa thanked Koharu for that useful bit of information before running off to find Ai and Reina. This could be exactly what she needed.
[Hello! Morning Bus]
The girls had just finished filming another couple of Hakkan CM at various locations around Tokyo. Now as the bus bounded back to the studio, Risa told Eri about her little plan.
“Really? What were their reactions?”
“Spend the two weeks in Yokohama with you?” and ”Yokohama!”
“Let me guess, Reina was the second one.”
Eri said with a small smile. She knew most of her fellow 6th gen reactions like the back of her hand.
“Yup. I’m still surprised I managed to pull it through. I just hope they won’t find out I invited both of them.”
“No problem. I’ll help.”
Puffing up her chest, Eri patted her hand on it and her pose resembled that of a departmental store mannequin.
Laughing and pointing at Kame, Risa’s usual infections laugh sounded throughout the bus with repeated “what?!” protests from Eri.
[Train Station]
“The next train will be arriving in ten minutes.”
Tapping her feet at regular beats, Risa waited impatiently for the due train to arrive. Takahashi was already at her house and now all she had to do was ensure Tanaka arrived too.
In no time, the train from Tokyo pulled into the station and stopped with a loud hissing noise. Scanning the crowd that rushed out onto the platform, Risa caught side of a girl buried in a thick purple jacket with a hat pulled low over her face.
Even from a distance away Risa could tell she was Reina with the familiar knee high boots and huge sunglasses.
“Yo!”
“How did you know it was Reina?”
A surprised Reina asked when Risa tapped her on the shoulder and led her towards the exit by holding her hand.
“I have a good memory and I saw you in this jacket before.”
“You did?”
Pulling the jacket tighter around herself, Reina searched her memory bank for an occasion that she had worn this. But it was impossible since she almost never wore anything twice.
“I was kidding. You mentioned buying a new purple jacket so I figured you’ll be wearing it.”
“What’s that?”
Pointing to the carrier in Risa’s other hand, Reina jumped topics in a flash.
“Oh just groceries. Come on I’ll show you the way to my house.”
[#XX Yokohama Lane]
“Woah this is your house? Reina’s impressed.”
Gawking at the rather massive structure that loomed at them even from the gate, Reina let Risa steer her towards the entrance.
“You have a pool! Reina wants to swim!” :MKswim:
“Gaki-san you’re back?”
A head poked out from behind the oak doors and the expression revealed was shock then anger.
“You lied to me Risa.”
