Yeah, I have to admit, going back over it frame by frame, it's not entirely clear if Konno grabs Sayu. But the same examination raises some more questions.
Is Sayu going the wrong way, or is she losing her balance and almost falling over?
Is Konno putting her front arm out to catch/grab Sayu, to get by Sayu, or to move to her next pose?
Does Konno see Sayu at all?
If Konno didn't grab Sayu, why are they both moving at the same speed?
What it looks like to me is that Sayu goes forward a bit, stumbles at being met nearly head-on by Konno, and runs with Konno toward her spot. They both realize nearly simultaneously that Sayu isn't where she's supposed to be, and the situation gets fixed.
Even after veiwing this clip in slow motion, regular motion, and frame by frame about 50 times, it's not entirely clear because the rest of the girls are in front of them. Objectively, it's hard to tell if this is a case of Konno saving Sayu, Sayu running into Konno and fixing her own mistake, or something between the two. Konno's arm positions around Sayu suggest one interpretation, but there isn't conclusive evidence to prove or disprove it. The whole thing happens in the span of about 3 seconds, so maybe we're all making this bigger than it is. Regardless, this clip shows the meeting of Sayu's klutziness with Konno's competence. Believe what you want.
However, this thread ain't about objectivity. For us Konno fans, logic and evidence can't explain why we love her, or why every day is Konno Day.
