Just noticed the 80 Gig version is out in Europe. Does anyone know if it's backwarth compatible like the 60 Gig version is?

Unfortunately it isn't... A lot of people are thinking all the new PS3s being produced from this point onwards will not have any backwards compatibility.

the software emulation sucked anyways, when I looked at the compatibility list on their site, the only games that I would even play again had some kind of bug with it... now if only it had it in the hardware again... but they'd probably have to raise the price or something and nobody wants that.

I'm glad I bought the 60gb one. It's like a built in PS2 in there. Have been playing the epic ps2 games on it. SotC, RE4, GoW2, etc etc. Too bad the Japanese games that I bought are region locked though.

Boo, my PS3 gave out today ;__; When it reaches the login page, it just hangs =( I'm pretty sure it's a HDD problem though, I'm getting a caddie for it in a couple of days, hopefully I can connect the HDD to my PC and format it though there. Hopefully.

Playstation home open beta just opened... still pretty limited but looks pretty interesting. You can't even make an asian looking character so it's like a white guy version of me with longer hair.

In the beginning, only the 60 GB version could play ps2 games.

The early 80GB version that also has the 4 usb slots and a card reader, can also play them, but it's through software emulation so some games won't play perfectly. (Mine is the newer 80GB with only 2 usb and no card reader, and it can't play them.)

And now I think the 160GB version that just came out can play them.

They all can play ps1 games.

And as far as sales go, don't know of any. The only place that really ever has any ps3 "sales" is wal-mart, so you might want to keep an eye on them. They might add something for free, like a gift card.

^I'd like to have it as a back-up in case my PS2 breaks down. But yeah, getting another PS2 wouldn't be that expensive.

I hope they'll release a Gran Turismo 5 pack (not Proloque), slimline, 160 gig with two controllers. Yes, I am very patient haha.

you sure? reviews for sonic were pretty darn bad. And FFXIII/vs release date ain't till year-end/next year.
Or do you already have a stash of free PS3 games?

I know that the release are next year. I played Sonic Unleashed already on my PS2 but I like to play it on the PS3 to.
Friends of me gave me last christmas as present PS3 games

Sonic, The Hedgehog as sample. (One of my friends know that I like Sonic Games and bought this for me

) And I didn't now what to do with the games, because my friends didn't know that I don't have a PS3 (we didn't see each other since november because of our works... and so it cames that my friends thought, I have now a PS3 because I talked to much about this console and his games

My mother told me, I should sell the games on eBay

But my father disagreed this and he proposed to me, that I should buy a PS3. Well honestly... I liked to buy a PS3 since the launch date but I never had the money for it. T_T My money was going always for other stuff, like Mangas (mangas eats always my money <_<), CDs (Singles & Albums of H!P, yay!

), Photobooks, PSP games (Dissidia! *drool*) and of course stuffs I gave to my parents

Now, I have the money and can buy it!

*looks above* That is a story...

I never write so many stuff on a forum! It's always one or two sentences.. or three..
