Fact #457 : GOW3's big scorpion is a bitch.
Fact #458 : DS3 is solid.

use the right stick to dodge attacks and you have to use it a lot.

also try prevent urself from chaining those long ass special combos. they get stuck in a loop and u cant stop it sometimes.

I just beat Heavy Rain last night. The game is great, the plot, one of the best I've seen, voice acting, etc.
I won't go into many details if noone else played or is at least interested in the game.

So anyone up for Heavy Rain ?

i already beat it once. im thinking of trying to get the platinum trophies. its easy but very time consuming lol

It takes some time, but believe it or not, it was the first game I got platinum. Sure there were games I liked more, but this one is quite easy, and it doesn't take that long.
Using a FAQ for the trophies helps a lot !

Other games like Uncharted 2 and Bayonetta, which I loved much more, are way harder and more time consuming, but have more replay value, so Heavy Rain felt like it was easy to do.

I would surely consider myself able to get U2's platinum but, hell, GOW3 ? Would need a full truck of DS3...

Have you guys heard ? There are some videos which look quite legit of proof that the PS3 has been hacked.
I have to say it does look quite real and some say the site in question is a reliable source for the hack community.

I just wrote a little thing and linked the video of it on my new site and the original source I've seen is here which has more videos.

Now let's just see if it really is true.

I call shenanigans, doesn't even show the PS3 with the TV in view.

Well it might be true but hacking the PS3 is going to take a lot of money and time unlike the PSP which I've already done XD. Plus I love the free online so probably not worth it in the long run.
Don't expect me to reply to any post. I tend to not care.

I quote you on that, I wouldn't trade my free online play for nothing, even if I play less games in the process.

2 questions:

1: I don't think it does, but Does the PS3 remember a wireless connection WPA2-PSK key?  I hope it does,  whenever I connect from a Wired to a Wireless connection, I have to manually enter the key everytime.  It's annoying to do that all the time.

2: Is there a way to have a private voice chat between 2 or more selected players while gaming without have others eavesdropped on our conversation.  i.e. during COD:MW2, whenever we talk in the lobby, it's seem everyone else  can hear us, when we play those on our team can hear us.  It seems we can't allow or deny a third+ person from entering or hearing our conversation...

I'm getting annoyed with the internet connections.  I switch from Wired to wireless on occasions because I move it to several places in my house, living room and my room.  everytime I change the connection, I have to go thru the entire connection process, which gets annoying, especially when switching to the wireless WPA2-PSK,  then I have to type, or copy and paste,  the security key everytime.  Why can't PS3 automatically recognizes when the ethernet is connected and switches between ethernet and Wi-Fi automatically?  why can't it remembers and saves the network (key)?

So the big thing that's happened lately for Sony is that the PSN has been shut down completely since last week and the servers have remained shut down even now. That is, you can't play online, can't purchase DLC, can't even play games that require some kind of online functionality. People have suspected that hackers have been the cause of it, but Sony has remained quiet about the whole thing. The causes, the solution, even on any kind of estimate on when it was being put back up again.

Well just recently there has been a response. Good news? PSN could be back up in a week. Bad news? Well, everything else. It would appear that those responsible for hacking into the system, have obtained user's personal information, possibly even your credit card details. So the advice is to change your PSN passwords immediately. If you use your PSN password for anything else, like an Amazon account or something, get that changed as well. And make sure that any unusual transactions in your bank account are recorded and notified to your bank.

What an unbelieveable PR disaster for Sony. I personally thought I was in the clear cause I didn't have a PS3, but I realise that I do have a PSN account, and have used it to purchase FFVII and FFVIII. What a joke. I of course lay the blame at the hackers for trying this, but also in Sony for not getting their shit together sooner and at least making us aware of this much sooner.

Pretty incompetent they could allow something like that. And then not tell anyone till 5-6 days later? Seriously? What a joke Sony.

I always use pre paid cards and fake personal info so I'm not really affected. Microsoft's never ending hounding of me to renew Live on my parents expired card back in 04-06 taught me a valuable lesson.

Yeah, I've been going through changing passwords - such a pain. No activity on my credit card though, so that seems OK so far.

Well I've been reading people saying they're going to cancel their cards and stuff but that seems like a knee jerk over-reaction to me. They have card details but they don't have your pin or the 3 digit security code on the back of your card to do anything about it. They could clone it, but then they're missing key info to make it a good clone.

Identity fraud? They have your name, address and DOB perhaps, but that information is freely available in public records anyway. They need more than that, so that's why the fraudsters need more info. Experts have said they'll most likely pretend to be Sony and send you an email or a link to a convincing looking website. Anyone who gives away this info via email (a fundamentally insecure medium anyway) deserves to get a hammering. I've had 3 cases of people phoning me trying to get my info, but I quickly realised that my phone provider isn't going to ring me from an unknown number and they certainly aren't going to ask me for details on my phone or my account considering they hold all that information themselves.

Biggest issue is with the PSN password. Make sure the same is not used for other services, related (Xbox Live, Steam) or otherwise (Amazon, Play etc). The reason why Sony was storing passwords in a clear text and not encrypted in some form is beyond me... that is a dumb move and quite unforgivable.

People immediately get on the defensive with something like this and point the finger at someone to blame, with Sony being the obvious target. But it's good to get some perspective and an opinion on this before doing so. I'm not defending Sony, they made a huge mistake in storing information in that manner, and it's taken them this long to tell us what's happening. But at the end of the day, nobody saw this happening, we're all only human. Sony is the one who's really hurting here, it's unlikely to be any of us.

Thank God I never entered credit card info into the PS3 (I've only done it for the 360)
I gotta wait another month (less than a month actually) to change my password.

^ DON'T give them a real address, phone number, or email. I spent like a year trying to get them to stop bugging me about my Live account expiring and it was annoying as hell. I sent emails telling not to renew, called customer service multiple times trying to get it resolved and get me off their list. Luckily the card i used expired since they were trying to auto renew, pretty sketchy. I'm sure they are much better organized then they were for the original xbox but still....

hmm I hadn't heard about that. I have like 4 PSN accounts some might be the same user name and password as other various things, really i don't even remember for some. But I never trust with useful info besides maybe Amazon.

So credit card information was apparently encrypted - small favors.

Another worry is the security question. If you always use one like "Your mother's maiden name", then they could possibly use that to get access to other accounts.

Looks like Sony is giving everyone a free month of Playstation Plus membership as compensation. Worth logging in at least once to get all the free swag.

I had the PS3 for 2 years now, and it's always on my mind.  How can I saved my wireless network settings (WPA2), so that I don't have to enter my key everytime I switch from Wired to Wireless?

This is an extremely annoying thing to do.  I usually kept my PS3 in my room, no ethernet, so I use wireless.  However, when I move it here and there, I either connect an ehternet port for better connection, even bringing it to a friend's house.  Everytime I switch from Wired to Wireless or connect to a different network, I have to type in the key everytime.  Don't u guys find it annoying as well?  wouldn't it be better for your PS3 to remember network connections so you don't have to?  Or even automatically switches to Wired when ethernet is connect, then switch back to wireless when no ethernet connected.

I thought Sony would have that by now, but no.  all my wireless devices could remember a connection, PC, notebook, phone, ipod, etc. why can't Sony do it for Playstation?

Maybe I'm wrong and you really can, if that is the case, show my how...
