5 Dec was a goddamn clusterfuck (with a few good songs), don't jinx it, man... :P

Quote
It is composed entirely from sparse piano playing that is completely devoid of the stuttering electronic saturation typically found across the vast majority of Kashiwa Daisuke's work, and it maintains a regal composure throughout.

Anyway, some of the tracks are out:

Coto's an older song that's been on some compilations and stuff.

There was an official mv I didn't notice earlier.

Yep, yep, KD taking it nice and slow... like sweet loving after the gangbang ass-rape that was 5 Dec.

 Don't get me wrong, I love his older stuff more than 5. Dec but still it was kinda nice. These early tracks are giving me really good vibes though, it's gonna be an amazing album.

Kashiwa Daisuke - 88  (2011.07.29)

All my bitches love me.

I'm working in parallel on three different publications. "Program Music 2" is in the works and the other two have re-new concepts.

not usually my kind of vocals, but the playing is quite good. flashes of te' , mirror or pirokalpin

Thanks for the recommendation- I actually somewhat like the vocals but I can see/hear how they might be grating for others.

Not sure if anyone has already mentioned L.E.D. (I'm not allowed to search threads and my google fu didn't turn up any hits), but their 2nd album came out  this year and I quite like this track:

【PV】L.E.D. − I'll feat 原田郁子:

Here's the album description from Youtube:

L.E.D.
2nd FULL ALBUM
" elementum "(エレメントゥム)

◆発売日:2011.04.06(wed)

[収録曲]
1: aqua | 8:26
2: ventus | 8:16
3: I'll (feat.原田郁子) | 6:10
4: hitofudegaki | 5:21
5: terra (album ver.) | 7:42
6: nathan road | 5:05
7: bluemoon in Togakushi | 6:01

If people are interested, I might buy the album from itunes and could share.

Cheers.

Alright, to pimp some of my favorites.....

ラヴスナイパー (Love Sniper)

http://www.lovesniper.jp/

Good stuff. I hate myself for not buying their album. Saw them at the "pipes of piece" event in Yoyogi Park. One of their songs is currently being used in a CM for some show I've never heard of. Oh, and their bassist is awesome.

ゆやゆよん (Yuyayuyon)

http://www.yuyayuyon.com/

My current favorite. It was instant love, I tell you! They're crazy as fuck. Discovered them in the same event as Love Sniper.
Anything to download this older stuff from a host site like mediafire? I like awesome bassists. D:

Hi, I just wanted to say that this is a great thread. I don't know if this is the proper place to post this but If anyone living in Canada is interested in seeing some amazing Japanese bands play live you're in luck! The Next Music From Tokyo tour is coming to Canada soon and is bringing five amazing bands with them: Hyacca, Natsumen, Merpeoples, Chiina, and Akai Ko-en.

So if you're in the Toronto/Montreal/Vancouver area, come check it out! http://www.nextmusicfromtokyo.com/

Ughh, so jealous. Anyone have anything from Akai Ko-en? I'd like to hear some stuff from them but can't really find anywhere that has samples up. Their website seems to be dead right now too  :(

Akai Ko-en are notorious for keeping the internet free of any of their material, so the only place is to see them live (and get their material from their merch table). Having attended the Montreal NMFT show, I can assure you that they are absolutely unreal live - tight as a group, skilled/talented as individuals and not to mention original composition and arrangements. Apparently they are signed with a major label (EMI, so it seems) and they will release their debut album early next year. They are for sure gonna rock out 2012 and destroy any female band left in Japan.

Dunno if they're QUITE small enough to count as obscure... but I really love Shonen Kamikaze.  And I just got back from a show with about 40 people in the audience... so I'm counting them as obscure *lol*  They formed about 6 years ago, worked their asses off for 3 years, split up for three years, and are back together now.  I'm happy about this!
Their new album (Force Muzik) sounds a bit different, but there is a definite thread of continuity if you listen for it (it was a lot more obvious in their show tonight than the album mixes of the new songs).
Big Ups!

After many years of milking from others, it's time to share some back. This will be a post/math/jazz rock overdose for many:

LITE | For all innnocence - The incorporation of synths into their chops has taken their soundscapes to a complete new level. I'm surprised that no one has posted this up yet.

Part 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?bh2vvtu83vz3god

Susquatch | In this world - Jazz/Rock band featured in the Vol 2 of Next Music from Tokyo Canadian tour. Great vocals, smooth riffs and awesome drumming.
