Desmond's visions don't always come true exactly as he sees them, though.  I think he just sees what might happen if things play out a certain way.  Like didn't he originally think that Penny was going to parachute onto the island, but then he saved Charlie from the spike trap so it became Naomi instead?  Or something like that, I haven't seen that ep in forever.

It's also possible he was lying to Charlie about seeing that in order to make him fulfill his destiny, but I think Des is way too cool for that.

Who wants to flashback all the way to the first season. Remember Claire's psychic? He said if anyone raised Aaron besides her, disaster would follow. And who's raising Aaron now? Thats Kate, so who wants to make a guess on what the hell this disaster is?

^ Nice throwback there! Very interesting, seems like everyone really is tied to the island in some way.

I don't think Desmond, Jin and Michael will die on the boat. Seems to me that Desmond is incredibly popular with the fans, more so than Jack, the 'lead' character. And you can't have Desmond's relationship with Penelope die off that quickly. Don't think it's Michael's either as Walt was important enough to be taken in by the others for reasons still unknown. As for Jin....I still can't determine if he's alive or dead. Sun seemed pretty convinced in the flash-forwards.

Not gonna say much until everyone's seen it, but I'm satisfied with it.  Not as OMGWTF as Looking Glass, but I don't think they could ever top that :P

i was also 'satisfied'. i thought it was a great episode and explained a fair few questions that they had raised *this series* for me at least. i had a theory about ben from a few episodes back and i was proved right, so i can shove that in my brothers face when i talk to him about it. :p

I was like OH MAH GWARHHh!!1 I *loved* the finale! So many things that were great and I didn't expect!! Yay for avoiding spoilers and previews ^__^

LOTS OF SEASON 4 FINALE SPOILERS

- Desmond and Penny reunited!! For a while there I feared they would give him a lame death but.. this time it WAS Penny's boat!! SO HAPPY!! I squealed "PENNY!!!!" aloud ahaha... This might be the last time we see Desmond, or at least we won't see a lot of him, but I was just happy to see them finally find each other.
- Jin might still be alive, Faraday was on his way to the boat so IF he got close enough to pick him up and IF they moved along with the island... Well ok, a lot of wishful thinking but ;___; I don't want Jin to die. His survival would also provide a reason for Sun to come back to the island
- Sawyer being the hero, again. His character has made such a complete turn from the first season. I love this heroic Sawyer, but I also fear that he will die before it's all over :/ But man. That bit where he kissed Kate and proceeded to jump off the helicopter, they showed Jack and he looked like a big fucking pussy. ROFL!!
- Random shirtless Sawyer dripping water and joking about it being a great day for a swim or sth!! And that smile!!
- Juliet  I just love her.
- Badass Sun
- Sayid showing off his mad fighting skillz again
- Ben being likeable, then hateable, then likeable again - what a fucking manipulator!! He caused for the boat to explode but when he had to leave the island I felt sorry for him when he cried, the bastard. Fucking Ben. .... And he totally fucking lies about everything. Whatever. That bastard. Best semi-/complete villain ever (see, I can't even tell if he's a complete villain)
- Claire in Kate's dream made no sense to me. She's now telling her NOT to go back? Wtf.
- Charlotte the feisty redhead was born on/has been to the island before? Now finally she's interesting, and much more likeable since we found out that she can speak Korean and Faraday has a crush on her. lol I always thought there had to be a reason why she looked so goddamn happy to finally arrive on the island, she was fricking ecstatic when she took her first looks around the island.
- I did NOT expect to see Locke in the coffin!! So to me that last bit was like WHOA. I didn't really care that much because I'm not the biggest Locke fan, but yeah. Didn't see it coming XD

SPOILERS END

There was probably other stuff but OMG! Loved it! Can't believe we have to wait till January for new eps! *dead*

Okay, I've watched this three times now.

If you still haven't seen it, stop reading now!

---

So, this morning they were showing how they shot the whole coffin scene three times:  Once with Locke, then with Desmond, then again with Sawyer.  They didn't even want the cast to know who it really was.  Apparently it didn't work out, because the important details all leaked anyway.  All the security in the world isn't enough, I guess.

Anyway, quick recap of those still on the island: Sawyer, Juliet, Charlotte, Miles, Rose, Bernard, maybe Faraday, maybe Jin, a few red shirts, and of course Alpert's people.  Am I missing anyone?

"You can go now, Michael."  That is easily one of the most awesome lines ever.

Man, how many ways can Keamy get owned?  He even got drubbed by that runt Ben of all people.  The fight with Sayid was pretty badass though.

I was also wondering what became of Faraday.  Now that he seems to have a budding relationship with the anthropologist, I doubt this is the last we'll see of him.

Locke's going to end up resurrecting on the island, I just know it >_>

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Loved it. There were tense moments (the bomb, the running out of fuel etc), the happy moments (Desmond & Juliet), the sad moments (Jin :( ), the 'you shouldn't really laugh but you can't help it' moments ("Wish we were 200lbs lighter" *Hurley looks all sad*) the bad ass moments (Sayid and Keamy fighting, fuck yeah!) and the WTF moments (Locke?!). I don't think Michael or Jin is dead. Probably. Had it just been an explosion I would have said they're definately dead, but having Jack's dad appear to Michael and telling him 'You can go now' makes me think the island intervened in some way. Besides you have to have Michael reuniting with Walt again. And of course Jin and Sun. Wonder what happened to Faraday. Definately haven't seen the last of him I think. He has Desmond as his constant and I doubt this whole time travel thing is going to be swept under the rug. Desmond and Penny could even appear again in the seasons to follow as Ben wants her dead for revenge. And I'd love to know what bad things happen on the island. Certainly bad enough to allow Claire to yell at Kate not to bring Aaron back anyway. Who survives, who dies?

There was a show afterwards on Sky about posing questions to the writers of Lost and they confirmed that the rumours of seeing less and less of the island is completely exaggerated. So I imagine it's half on the island, half with the real world. ARGH! I hate the waiting part! Anyone know when Season 5 airs?

Heh, I watched that scene several times and didn't make the connection.  That is funny.  Poor Hurley XD

Season 5 starts in January 2009.  Yeah, that's like forever.  Anyone know of any time-traveling islands we can use to jump forward seven months? >_>

Saw the eps today :D OMG

The pace was so fast XD I think it'll take a while to get used to all this again.

But I thought the eps were definitely catering for long-time fans with all their references to old storylines, characters, you name it... It was like BAM! BAM! BAM! And you can only get all the references if you've seen all previous eps. rofl

And Sun was HOTTTTT

spoilers?

well, more like a theory =P  I bet Scientist guy's mom is the old white hair lady =)

I think the more interesting characters are on the Oceanic 6 + Ben, so i found this episode a little lacking.  Its cool though still, with the John and the compass (remember when Richard did the test on John when he was a kid?), and young Widmore.

Charlotte is soo gonna die =P  I didn't really like her.

you found this episode lacking? really? prior to this episode, i would've agreed that an episode without the O6 and ben would suck, but this episode was great. the desmond stuff was cool and the stuff on the island was really cool. yea, at first i didn't agree that the "old white hair lady" was daniel's mom because she was in l.a. and daniel told desmond to go to oxford, but now that widmore told desmond that she's in l.a, i'm pretty sure that she's his mom. so widmore used to be an other. wow...

OH THANK GOODNESS, there's a thread. I still haven't seen last night's episode but I might watch it along with Greys Anatomy tonight (yay for tivo/dvr) if there's a new one.

I agree, I think that old lady who knew Desmund is Daniel's mom and that's why they're awesome at quantum physics and time travel. Or she's his mentour. I wonder if Ben knows about this... And I'm surprised Nathaniel doesn't remember anything about this whole time traveling thing unless he's just really good at hiding it or he lost his memory and life is going back and forth for him like Desmund's.
Either way, I CAN'T wait to see waht they have for Desmund to do in this episode (I hope they show more of it in this particular episode haha).

And I wanna know more about Naomi...
