Indeed.

Everyone who thinks Peter and Nathan are dead, think again.  All Nathan had to do is let of Peter before he exploded and used his jet-boosters we seen in Las Vegas and he'd be fine.  When Peter exploded in the alternate future, he was still alive, so that wouldn't affect him.  Although his landing will be rough (since he fell from the frickin' sky) he'll be fine.

As I see it...no one died :/

The producers who were commenting that the "surviving" cast will be back in the 2nd Season were either just messin with us, cuz all the Heroes in the finale survived.  If they want us to believe Nathan and Peter dead, they might bring them back late in the 2nd season or early for some epic return or some shit.

Peter isn't dead, but I'm pretty sure Nathan is.

Even if he'd escaped before the explosion, he'd die out of radiation. Besides, the sacrifice isn't really worthwhile if he comes back.

The thing I wondered about was why Peter didn't just fly himself away.  Very noble and all for your brother to fly you away so you won't hurt people, but seems a bit unnecessary when you could just fly away yourself.

i dunno if it's just how it is but... well from so many episodes i've only seen both Peter and Sylar only using one power at a time... so about Peter trying to control his radiation power and fly away by himself... hmm... one can only wonder

Either that, or Peter was too focused on not blowing up.

I think the whole idea is that he couldn't control himself, that's why he couldn't simply "fly away" when he was going nuclear.

Personally I really enjoyed the ending.  It was a lot different from where they could've gone, and it setup the course to the next season perfectly.

That's pretty much my thought as well. It probably takes a lot of concentration to do a power that originally wasn't yours and is probably the reason why they can only do one at a time.

Peter couldn't fly because he was out of control, that makes perfect sense. Nathan couldn't really have dropped Peter in the air and flew away because he didn't know exactly when Peter would blow up. Nathan needs to be dead because it was a big plot point that he was sacrificing himself after sort of turning into a bad guy.

I'm happy with the ending because I can find answers for everything that happened. There's no actual plot holes, just theories.

As for setting up the next season, that was awful. Hiro would have seen the guys aim their arrows and teleported straight out of there.

Thought I'd give this show a go, since you guys have been saying how good it is. (well, I only read the first few comments, so it wouldn't spoil it for me..)

So after just watching the first episode, gotta say it's not bad.. Kinda ripping off the 4400 though, but that's ok..

And I have a question... Does Hiro keep speaking Japanese, or does he speak English from now on since he's in NYC??
Asking because I had to read the English subtitles to my wife, since his Japanese is crap and my wife couldn't understand what he was saying a lot of the time.. (sad considering he is Japanese)

as long as season 1 is concerned, present-day Hiro speaks mostly Japanese with the English subtitles, only future Hiro speaks in English... *spoilers* and since he travelled back to 1600s Japan at the end of season 2, I suppose he wouldn't be speaking in English would he? haha.. *spoiler end*

He'll only communicate in Japanese with his sidekick Ando, and broken English with the others.

And Hiro's accent isn't too bad, I think Ando's is harsher.

well Ando's case is so because he's trying to mimic the sound/intonation... after all he doesn't know anything about the language... but kudos to him for trying!

Harsher?? The wife didn't understand anything of what he said..
My wife thought both these actors were Chinese since their Japanese was so bad, and was surprised to find out Hiro was actually Japanese.
But he did leave Japan when he was 6, which would explain why it's pretty bad.

I heard last night that Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar are signing on for season 2 meaning that Nathan somehow escaped or will appear in flashbacks or like Charles did in the last episode.. could it be another of Peter's powers, communicating with the dead?
I also heard that Parkman and DL's futures were still up in the air.

Remember guys this is made for a American audience who are most likely too ignorant to know any Japanese words besides sushi, so why would the creators care about authentic Japanese.

Wait until you get up to where George Takei's character comes in, his Japanese sounds even worse.  Although that might just be because I couldn't stop myself form picturing him in his Star Trek uniform while he was saying his lines.

Next season starts maybe in September? But there is going to be a short spin-off in between called Heroes: Origins thats going to run for six episodes with the chance for viewers to vote one of the characters to be in the second season of Heroes.
