So it seems that Kago was simply in a situation where someone like Ando was easily able to take advantage of her. Right now I see Mainstream as somewhat the lesser of two evils, but I think that unless someone else steps in with a better deal for her it'll be her and her fans that will lose this battle. Time to move her career to the US perhaps?

"I Support Ai" Youtube Project!

Due to the recent events, my friend Josh (joshmos) and I are organizing a video project to reach out to Kago. The idea is to gather up the fan base and show her some love, simply to remind her that we support her even in dark times. So we came up with the idea of putting together a massive Youtube video of fans from all over the world~! We already got some great footage for the video and even went to Birdland this evening (the Jazz Club she performed at last year here in NYC) to get the host to give her a message of support!

So here's how you can help!


- Submit a 5-10 second video with a positive message to Aibon. (Keep it short! We are smooshing these into one video montage!) Videos over the 10 second limit may be edited down to fit!
- It can be in English or Japanese~!
- Don't have a video camera? THAT'S OKAY! Take a picture of you holding a sign for her of encouragement! It can be as simple as "I support Ai!" Or "Get Well Soon!", etc
- I don't think this needs to be said, but this is the internet... ;; Keep it clean!

Don't know what to submit? Here's some suggestions! Feel free to go off these or create a unique message of your own~!

Unfortunately she doesn't have many options left. The word I'm getting from that image (as well as 2ch and Twitter) is that it's a contract for five productions (could be movies, books, whatever) paying ￥100,000,000...more money than she's probably ever seen and a very tempting offer due to her financial situation. And after reading up on the varied nature of the AV idol world, as well as seeing the current success of Ebisu Muscats, somehow this might not be such a terrible idea and maybe we won't see her musical talents go to waste after all. Still, knowing the harsh nature of Japanese showbiz culture as well as her blemished reputation, I still worry about her ability to find success (or even happiness) in the future.

A year ago I probably would've been more open to the idea of AV...but a year ago it didn't seem like she had to resort to it either. As much as I've contribued to her Perv thread, I might feel conflicted about her future material...but just like waiting for the official word from Kago herself regarding all this, we'll have to wait and see how it all plays out.

And I'm still wondering what happened to the KDDI deal. She's still featured on the Navi Road website, though I'm not sure if that place is still being updated.

I hope she doesn't do it , but the money amount being offered would certainly be a temptation.
Maybe boxing would be a better option for Ai..........

Being asked to join Ebisu Muscats if she did become an AV idol would seem like the perfect fit if she was content to do that. Difference between her and those girls however is that none of them have gone through the stuff she's had to go through (or if they have, then they've done a good job of keeping it out of the media). I doubt if she did do AV she wouldn't be asked to come onto Ebisu right now. Not when they're in the thick of promoting a new single and touring. And certainly not if the contract is for 5 productions like rumours would have you believe.

Just seems too early to do it now. Like pika says, the ones offering her this contract aren't doing it for some H!P nostalgia out of kindness, they can smell publicity behind a move like this and will take advantage of it. Sad but true.

I was looking up to see if this news story had truth to it, and found this link. As if Maki would join her!

you know, she doesn't need to be in the idol bsns anymore... but jebus AV? sorry but not interested, her PB previews was such a turn off, i think she is way too cute for this or maybe is because i watched her in W and minimoni that the whole idea makes me sick ;__;

but anyways, what worries me the most is that she tried to kill herself not so long ago so i hope she heals her soul and mind before even trying to start thinking in something else... not everything in life is about money
