My Aika story:When she was first selected, I was completely "WTF???" because out of the finalists, to me she seemed to be the one with the least potential for being an idol/singer/entertainer. I admit, I was "WTF WAS SOONK THINKING?" when he chose her over Sumire (whom I thought was the no-brainer choice). Have to admit though, she's grown on me in a "smartmouthed, sidekick little sis" type of vibe.
My favourite thing about Aika:She has a dry sense of humour, almost like a lite version of sarcasm. She can tsukkomi simply by delivering a line in a completely deadpan tone.
A memorable performance:[MM Fanclub] BE Positive! (Aika Mitsui)I remember thinking that this was a pretty ambitious song for her to do, considering the added dancing AND the fact that it was completely live. After all, we all know that Aika's not the strongest singer, and this song is probably near, if not at the peak of her vocal range. Still, she went ahead and did it anyway, and while it wasn't the strongest perf, she still gave it her best shot.
A moment that made me laugh:Got 2 of them, both of which happened during MM appearances on Music Fighter. First was during their promo for Resonant Blue, when King Kong suggested that she be JunLin's "instructor."

Second was during their Nanchatte Renai promo, when she got all whiny/pouty/upset at being called a country bumpkin, then getting pissed and snapping at Junjun when the latter said she could be a "country yankii."
A moment that surprised me:Her set of Yorosen eps when she was the sensei. To be honest, I didn't think I'd like or possibly even watch her eps, but seeing her truly genuine excitement/affection for pets...I dunno...just couldn't bring myself to dislike that.

A video that I like: The Music Fighter Resonant Blue appearance that I linked to. Aika's little speech about being lonely and jealous (even if she didn't outright admit it) when JunLin got more attention than she did from the other members was definitely unexpectedly real/un-idolish. At the very least it's not the sort of thing that you'd expect an idol/entertainer to publicly admit on TV. It took guts for her to do that, and I found it admirable that she did it.
