Same as you guys, i'll only give 2.5/5 for storyline but the action was awesome. Infinity times better than matrix who used the same slow-mo type of shootings.

And the fighting style rawks. FOR SPARTANS!!

If the movie's anything like the graphic novel, the 'storyline' isn't a very big part of it. Sequel gogo!

it is almst frame per frame from the graphic novel. I guess thats why the acting and storyline kinda sucked then XD

I'm so glad I have a friend that used to work at a movie theater. He's got his connections, so whenever I go to that theater, we get in for free. So I'll probably be seeing it again later in the week. I can't wait. Loved this movie.

Quote
Delicacies of dismemberment aside, 300 is notable for its outrageous sexual confusion. Here stands the Spartan king Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his 299 buddies in nothing but leather man-panties and oiled torsos, clutching a variety of phalluses they seek to thrust in the bodies of their foes by trapping them in a small, rectum-like mountain passage called the "gates of hell(o!)" Yonder rises the Persian menace, led by the slinky, mascara'd Xerxes. When he's not flaring his nostrils at Leonidas and demanding he kneel down before his, uh, majesty, this flamboyantly pierced crypto-transsexual lounges on chinchilla throw pillows amidst a rump-shaking orgy of disfigured lesbians."

Gorgo was in about two panels in the novel.

Also, hated the superhueg rhino deal. And the dude with knives for hands. Wtf is this, Lord of the Rings? And the slow motion was cool in some parts, but really exhausted its appeal in the middle of the film.

^yea, thats why I stated that the whole story about the homefront crap is really out of the whole point and boring. And getting ass raped.

The dude with knives really reminded me of Doom 3 for some reason.

saw the movie the other day and i was instantly blown away! the action's soo  good that it made the nude scenes look pretty normal (not that i didnt like it haha) but seriously there's something bout slo mo and pure gore in 300 that makes you wna go and watch it over and over again... Spartans rock!

spoilers

- if you're a traitor, don't carry around persian gold coins in your purse. just in case you get stabbed and "spill the beans"
- when someone gives good advice, listen to what he/she says instead of who's saying it. even if he/she looks like gollum. at least investigate it. and there's nothing wrong with using the gollum if he offers his services. spartans are so superficial..

love the movie. don't think too much when you're watching it though.

Once you've gotten stabbed, does it really matter?

Why? The reasoning was clear and concise, albeit like what Foxy said earlier, didn't really hold true in the movie itself. Also, he did take Ephialtes' advice.

I just recently read through the comic book, and that armored war rhino, big fat blades-for-arms executioner, and the whole subplot with the queen weren't in it. This suggests to me that someone read a Frank Miller comic book and said to himself "You know, this would make a pretty good movie if it were just a little more retarded and over the top."

And that thought makes me smile.

Saw it tonight. Was as badass as I expected it to be. Although the guy with knifes for hands did get a 'WTF' moment from everyone watching. And the subplot with the Queen was pointless.

This movie was good fun but highly overrated.  Definitely didn't deserve all the success it got and sometimes all that hard rock music just made it look really stupid.

Maybe she was just a filler to arouse the audience in the beginning, if it was then I'm happy ;D
