:( Its going to be hard to watch Finley play on a different team.  :(  :(  :(

"The Mavericks are trying to trade Finley to keep him out of the Western Conference and to avoid losing him without compensation. If they end up waiving him, a string of playoff contenders, including the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat, are expected to pursue Finley."

Wow...Miami pulled off a  great trade I reckon...
If they can get walker and williams to be consistent (and shaq to stay healthy), their offensive power will be hard to stop...

although their bench is getting thinner...(especially if  Damon Jones don't come abck)

Hmmm, about the 5-team deal, i'm not sure if Antoine Walker is the best idea for Miami.  He's way past his prime and is pretty much just a chucker.  They better petition to play with 2 balls just so Walker has something to hold on to while the game is on.

On the other hand, James Posey is an excellent talent.  Maybe not a stat stuffer like other players in their contract year but he definitely brings a tough high flying game.

Side note:  YES! TORONTO! CALDERON!! Yeah...our team is that bad that a signing like this excites me.  PAPE SOW!

That was the biggest trade in NBA history!  :w00t:

Antoine isn't a good fit for anyone nowadays.   I hated him so much when he was in Dallas.

HOLY FUCK!! How come I haven't heard this yet?? here's more details:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2122976

Quote
The new faces from the 13-player, five-team deal that also included draft picks and cash: Antoine Walker, Jason Williams, James Posey and Andre Emmett. Gone are Jones, Rasual Butler and Qyntel Woods.

The Heat believe they made a steal of a deal, and they may be right.

``I thought it was a day that we moved toward that goal of achieving what it is we want, `` Riley said Wednesday. ``It's a day that we moved toward putting together a core that's going to be together for a while.''

Williams and Posey arrived from Memphis, and were in South Florida on Wednesday to become acquainted with their new club. Emmett also comes from the Grizzlies, who received Jones in the deal that also included the Boston Celtics, New Orleans Hornets and Utah Jazz.

on top of Shaq taking a FREAKING PAY CUT 5 FOR 100?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2122716

Just hope the Lakers can nab a PG, Derek Anderson any good??

Shaq taking a pay cut?!?!???        NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER thought that would happen.

I'm always impressed with these multi-player, multi-team trades.  It shows a type of civility and professionalism that all these teams can all work together and all get (more or less) what they want out of it.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...Barrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-be-cuuuuuuuuuuuuue

Damn Shaq is smart.....  if he play like he did in the last playoff.....  he basically just earn another 100 mil for nothing.

If I am miami GM, I would rather seeing him pay 30mil a year and force him to be really productive and dominante.

At this rate, Miami won't be the champion they wish they will be.  They are about 3 years too late to sign Shaq.

How about SAR trade being off the books. WTF?

Too bad Shaq wasn't here still, Lakers hired Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as a coach.  :D

I'm not sure about the whole situation with SAR but I suspect he may have pulled a K-mart.  Basically he agreed to a deal with the Nets before the signing period and some other team offered him a better deal.  Purposely fail the physical and he was cleared from the contract to the Nets.

NBA players nowadays are all such punks; there are only a handful of genuine guys in the NBA.  I would consider Tim Duncan, Ray Allen, and Michael Redd to be a few of them.

I can't understand finley at all...
If money isn't an issue, why doesn't he choose the suns instead?
You get to start, play a lot of minutes AND have a chance to win.
Deep in the playoffs, I just can't seeing Popovic benching bowen, manu or tony parker (maybe tony parker, but van exel is there)...

So what so good how earning a ring sitting on the bench?
