^ It's official, the content of the Collector's Edition, at least in Europe, are:

    * FINAL FANTASY XIII Original Sound Selection: a soundtrack CD including a selection of tunes from the game, especially chosen for this Limited Collector’s Edition by composer Masashi Hamauzu. The CD is presented inside a slipcase featuring artwork from FINAL FANTASY XIII, with liner notes written by the composer himself.
* The World of FINAL FANTASY XIII: an exclusive hardback book featuring characters artwork, CG rendered images and environments from across the game production.
* Exclusive Art Prints: 3 highly collectable art prints showing artwork of the Eidolons, powerful summoned allies of the lead playable characters of FINAL FANTASY XIII.
* Unique ‘Brand of the l’Cie’ decal: Collectible decal featuring this most iconic symbol from the game storyline.

Source

Priced at around £60 in most retail stores here in the UK. As expected then, pretty much the same as Crisis Core/Dissidia's Collector Editions. No preview book as rumoured earlier which is a shame. I dunno, I'm not planning on buying any games until March so I may just indulge myself and go with spending a lil bit more.

I just beat the game this Saturday and as promised I'm sharing my thoughts on this game.
I wrote a little review of it in my blog, so check it out: http://finalfrenzy.hostse.com/?p=83

I've also uploaded it to gamefaqs reviews, but it's not online yet.

Oh, and before I forget, of course it's spoiler free. And if anyone wants any more details I'll gladly help out the way I can.

@Yuna
how many hours did it take you to play through?
(sorry, I haven't looked at your review, in case you mention it there)

It took me about 62 hours in the last save, but after you beat the game you unlock the last part of your crystarium system (where you level up). But it could take less, my game clock went a little up because when /i arrived at Pulse I started doing missions, and if I remember correctly, I did about 17 of them. Plus I used two hours to grind a little XP at good spots and another hour to farm money.
So I'd take about 13 hours of the game if you just rush through it. But really, would you want to rush an incredible game like this ? I wouldn't  :P

And about the chocobos, while playing FF7, my first, I hated chocobos, same thing is 8 and 9. Then 10 came and I started liking them. 12 didn't change a thing, but this one, oh my god now I simply LOVE THEM!
Not only they are cool, you have two types of chocobos, the domesticated ones in Cocoon and the wild ones in Pulse, and they have different theme songs, and they both sound AMAZING!

Hey I just realized I can actually maybe hopefully ask this here!!!

I'm still playing FFX, but I've made considerable progress now and I'm in Zanarkand at the Dome. I think inside the dome is where I last got stuck (u can't go out to gain exp anymore or something), so this time before going in I want to train, train, train and train. ANYWAY

My questions are, and please try to avoid spoilers as much as possible...
How much gameplay is there left after the Yunalesca boss fight??
What I mean by gameplay is... How many places (new or old)? How many main bosses? Will I be able to still travel around or is this it? (Idk what the point is in capturing monsters if I can no longer go to the monster arena?)
I want to know how close to the very end I am because all of my characters are only at their '2nd character sphere' (like Yuna is doing Rikku, no sexual meaning intended) and I wanted them to have close to the entire thing filled before I go to the very final boss. But if it's just around the corner I don't think I'll be able to do that. D:

I don't want to check a walkthrough because I don't want to be spoiled about everything, like storyline stuff, but I'd like to know how many chances I'll still have to gain exp etc.

LOL that was long, sorry :(

You're very close to finishing - a couple more boss fights and 3 or 4 rooms.

I was about to talk about the soundtrack of Final Fantasy XIII too.
It's already online, if anyone's interested I downloaded at nyatorrents.

I believe that even if you haven't played the game you'll love the variety, but if you played it then oh my god, you'll love it!
I've said it before, but check both chocobo's themes, especially Chocobos of Cocoon, they're so catchy!

I cleared Dissidia! I finally beat the last chapter of Shade Impulse at a measly 112hrs in and now I've finished.

..Oh wait. No I haven't. Not in the slightest. Items, weapons and summons still to collect. 20 reports to collect which supposedly flesh out the story. Two all new story modes to clear before I get Shantoto and Gabranth. A Time Attack mode for the Arcade. And Duel Collesium. Medals? Cards? Treasure? I fear Dissidia could destroy my life. XD

Also, does anyone have a semblance on the story? The beginning was absolutely fine then it hit Shade Impulse and all this talk of The Void, The Great Rift, Shinryu. Flew way over my head. If anyone has a link to a site of FAQ which can explain it then I'd appreciate it XD Regardless, I don't think it's all that important, it's purely fan service from the music through to the dialogue and visual cues to past games for us FF fans to appreciate.

I know I probably shouldn't have considering my experiences with downloading FFVII, but I still paid for FFVIII regardless. I desperately want to be able to play it and experience it all over again. Here's hoping I can download all 1.8GB of it without my internet crapping out on me.

I still don't know why I couldn't get hooked in Dissidia like everyone else. I thought it was good, but it didn't make me want to play it more. I think I've said that, maybe it was the character I chose first.

In FFXIII I'm still having a hard time trying to beat those damned Adamantoise. You guys must know, those huge turtles appearing in the latest scans. I mean, there's a trick where you use the Death spell and it dies, but I'd like to beat him fair and square(enix).
My character with most life is already at 25000HP and still far from taking any kind of abuse.

25000HP :o :o Do you mean that it's easy when you mean its 'far from taking any abuse'? In fact, do you think it's an overall easy game to play?

Also, forgot to ask but, is there much to do after you complete the game? Please don't say too much though, I'd like even that to remain a surprise. A simple yes or no will suffice XD
