I've thought about it and... as much as I don't think I'd enjoy SNSD in Japanese, I think stepping away from the Korean ent industry might do them some good. I don't think anyone's gonna replace SNSD... yeah another girl group might get huge, but I think if they were to come back, everyone would love them just as much. They've already built up the fanbase and the approval of most netizens. (And because I feel like being extra nice to Eff of Ex for making up for Chu, Eff of Ex can finally get some spotlight)

Plus, if they continue to thrive in Korea, it's only a matter of time that Korea will get tired of them. I don't see SME giving the girls a long break any time soon (for them to make a very anticipated comeback) so the next resort is to ship them off to another market... so when they DO make a comeback, it'll be like having another Gee affect.

I was reading this post at DC about the possibility of them going to Japan. It has bits of news, rumours and speculations.

- When they were promoting the concerts, they also talked about the Asia tour and the possibility of releasing their album in Japan.
- The guy from MBC said that the reason Yuri denied the sitcom offer was because they had a plan to go to Japan around May.
- That's the same reason why Taeyeon quitted ChinChin. (speculation)
- The girls' parents have been looking for accommodations in Japan. (rumour)
- Solo works will be arranged, startied with ChinChin. (rumour/speculation?)

I want my Yulti on MuCore!!! And Japanese CDs are expensive!!

^ Well, SNSD has more of a cute image, so I guess that's why. Or too many people would die from heart attacks and SM doesn't want to be responsible for murder or something. And then who would buy their CDs?!

Now there's an official news on IY season 2 with some new members in late May or June. It says that 1-2 original members are leaving, fans think it might even be 3-4, Still Hara, Yuri and Sunny are the most likely to leave, though they haven't announced names.

I don't mind YulSun leaving the show at all but if this means they're going to Japan soon...I dunno.
Like Maria said, it's pretty logical for them to expand to Japan, it's the next move. I just hate not being to watch them every week.

LOL! When I meant awkward, I was hinting more towards like every other move in the RDR choreo. ESPECIALLY the one where they put their right arm over their forehead while their head is turned to the side, and the sorta jump forward while they thrust their hips. Yeah, that's just weird. I still remember the awkward move from TMYWG... the one where they would slide over to their right by dragging their foot and then sorta sway their hips L to R back and forth. Just...so weird...

Nah, I don't think it'll be more than one or two because that's what KBS said... It'd be stupid for them to pull off some surprise move like that. To be honest, even though Sunny's the most productive and Yuri brings in the most smiles around town, something tells me they're gonna get booted out and bring in another SNSD member or two. I mean, it WOULD be SNSD's luck to get more on their plate -_- Some part of me thinks it'll be either Nicole (KARA), SooYoung (SNSD), or Eunjung (T-Ara) that comes in. LOL then again, some part of me thinks it'll be Jessica just because someone just really wants to fuck with her (figuratively speaking of course cuz i mean, seriously, who doesn't wanna eff Jessi?)

CRAP! you have a point though. If they remove them from IY, that would be one convincing hint that they're moving their activities elsewhere in Japan. Unless of course they end up just putting in other/another SNSD member(s). BAH, either way, I just hope they don't take out Narsha (unless she's replaced with Jea who's just as funny) and Hyunnah most especially because they're FREAKING hilarious or Hara because she's so prection and Sunhwa because Secret needs more love.




Anyway, off topic once again... but CN. Blue (the band that Seobaby's husband, Yonghwa, is the lead singer of) came out with their new >>[noembed][/noembed]<<
Yonghwa composed and wrote this song and it's not doubt that it's a love song, yes? At 1:46 there's a line that says "I'm Genie for you girl" which is obviously a sample from one of SNSD's lines..........................
Before I start going off on a Seobaby+Yonghwa tangent, I'll just say I think after G-Dragon's whole controversy about 'illegally' ripping off SNSD's Gee single, I think it's cool that Yonghwa is willing to risk such a thing, how brave! another artist would still sample one of SNSD's songs.

I'm guessing it probably is Yuri and Sunny leaving. Seems like all the girls are halting their solo stuff in a month or 2. Jessica is doing a show only temporarily. Taeyeon left chinchin and her musical is over by then. Yoona supposedly turned down a couple dramas around that time. Just a lot of stuff pointing towards that imo.

It says that, for SM's 2nd quater, it's SJ and f(x), and for the 3rd, it'll be Boa's 10th anniversary album and SNSD's Japan activities. Seems to be coming from an analyst though.

According to the 2010 1st Quarter report for SM out today, the company revenue for the quarter recorded an all time high of 22.7 billion won, with a record 10.4 billion won in operating profits, a huge increase of 471% from same period last year.

SM said "The main reason for this revenue and profit increase is due to explosive popularity of SNSD's 2nd album Oh! and increased overseas royalties resulting from energetic Asia activities by SM artists."

At the time of Gee's release SME stock price was about 1500 won, now it is about 7900 won so in terms of business achievement SM is doing awfully great, and SNSD's significant contribution to this is collectively acknowledged by the industry and shareholders(They made lots of money and some talk about sending gifts to the girls^^).

It's relevant to be aware of SM's business since it affects the activity plans of SM artists. Now that SM is doing so well people might think SM artists can get some rest now but in fact it works in the opposite direction. Public company like SME has huge pressure to continue to show growth so the company must find ways to maintain this huge profit. Rather than huge increases it's better to have stable growth and a balanced portfolio, which SME doesn't currently have.

Thus in conclusion this translates to continuation of overworked schedules for current SM artists. It's why SM is preparing for SNSD Japan and Asia promotion, and Korean comeback will occur as soon as possible (later this year or early next year at the latest). Almost all SM artists have comebacks this year the more successful they are the more stable SME becomes and a better situation for the artists. Let's support all our SM artists  I'm loving the new Suju and f(x) songs by the way~
