To-chan!
Rika's heart skipped a beat at hearing the gunshot. She didn't know what it was but after the initial shock, she felt that it was Hitomi out there.
Was it instinct? Wishful thinking?
Her only prayer now was that it wasn't her To-chan who got shot.

Hitomi took a buckshot round from the guard's belt and loaded it into the shotgun he previously weilded.
He had been careless. Hitomi found sneaking up on him easier than kicking her father's ass. She almost effortly subdued him with a shot on his shoulder.
The guard laid unconscious on the cold pavement.
Hitomi held the shotgun firmly as she stepped over him as she entered the warehouse complex.

Rika wanted to make the run for the exit now. Not that she hadn't thought of it earlier but the thought of Hitomi outside told her the run wouldn't be in vain.
She observed her surroundings closely. There was only one point of exit: the steel gates which were half closed. The ambulance and the Toyota Fortuner were parked close to the gate which was to her left. To her right was a forklift and hundreds of crates and rack pallets.
From where she stood, she could see eight goons. All of them appeared agitated at hearing the gunshot.
Baldo, who was still talking to the client, didn't look bothered at all. He simply signalled to one of his men to go and check out what went down outside.
"Yes, boss" as expected, was the response.
As the goon walked out, Rika watched him. She was still strategizing how to get to the gate the fastest.
It didn't take five minutes until as second gunshot was heard quickly followed by a third one, seemingly in response.
Baldo looked a bit worried now, ordering another goon to shut off all the lights. Dan immediately grabbed Rika to make sure that she doesn't use this opportunity to escape.

Hitomi looked at the nickel-plated Smith and Wesson 29, a .44 magnum handgun, she held. She had a similar one back in their home at Saitama, under the mattress.
Five shots left
She quietly thanked the corpse sprawled on the floor for having a gun familiar to her. Blood oozed from the gunshot wound on his head, a little over his right ear.
She moved stealthily behind the trailers, closer to the warehouse which suddenly went dark.

Dan's touch terrified Rika more than the series of gunshots which were fired earlier. His touch coupled with the darkness made her want to just breakdown and cry. But she can't breakdown now. She didn't want to give him that satisfation.
Her eyes sought the light but only found it within the SUV. Unlike earlier, she could now see the men inside the vehicle. Still a bit blurry due to the distance, but clear enough to be certain that they looked East Asian.
Negotiations continued but Baldo signalled to his goons. Only two remained to guard the warehouse. The other five set out to investigate what had happened outside.

Five shots
Hitomi breathed in deep. She knew she had to do this quickly and quietly.
The gate was just a few meters away from where she was hiding. She wouldv'e made the run for it had the five goons not emerged.
One of them held an M16A1 assault rifle; two of them had SP12s shotguns; and two with P229 handguns. The one with the assault rifle looked like the man in charge. He directed the rest to spread out.
Hitomi slowly climbed up one of the cargo vans in the warehouse complex as she strategized.
She watched them carefully from her perch. She had to conserve bullets as she didn't know how many more goons there were. She also wanted to save a bullet each for Dan and Baldo. They will pay for what they have done to Rika.
Maybe...
