Hitomi felt a small cold object on her palm and Rika's warm hand closing hers into a loose fist. She still couldn't move her lips and opening her eyes felt like such a heavy chore but seeing Rika would make everything better. So she exerted all effort, putting in all her energy in opening her eyes.

The first sight that she saw was Rika crying, walking away, out of the room.

Oshit she was (at least partially) awake?!?!? 

Ayumi was just about to enter the hospital compound when she saw Rika outside negotiating with a taxi driver before stepping into the vehicle.

Why is she leaving the hospital this early? Ayaka and Mai are still in the office... ... unless she forgot to bring something important from home... but to leave without anyone to stand watch? or even telling us?

C'mon Shiba-chan! Don't let this one go! BFFs TO THE RESCUE!!!

Ayumi took out her phone and held the voice command button. "Cha~my"

The nurses on their rounds found Hitomi awake. They were surprised that the guardian of the patient didn't notify them that she is now conscious. The immediately called for food to nourish Hitomi.

Part of me want to know where Jin went off to...partially because it could give an idea as to what he's plotting up, and partially because I just want to pound his face in.

Ayumi tried calling Rika again as she went up to Hitomi's room but still, Rika's phone was out of the coverage area. Now she was really getting worried.

Could something have happened?

She went on to Hitomi's room hoping that Hitomi was now awake and that she could offer some explanation for this.

Unfortunately, it's not likely that she will. Jin took precautions by talking to Rika outside of the hospital room. That way, if Yossi WAS conscious, she wouldn't have been able to hear whatever it was that he said to her.

Ayumi opened the door to find a hospital aide spoon feeding Hitomi some cream soup.

Cream soup? Hospital food is often mediocre at best, but a cream soup...in a tropical climate? Yossi must be seriously hungry to be willing to eat that. 

Hitomi suddenly looked towards the drawer. Rika spent a few moments standing there before leaving. She might have left a note or whatever. Ayumi quickly caught on and checked out the drawer only to find two Samsung  Soul phones, both turn off.

With the energy from that damned soup, Hitomi forced herself up. "Find her."

CALL IN THE TROOPS (i.e. Ayaka and Mai; hell, even Joseph would probably be helpful now, considering he'd probably have the best idea of places where she might go). FIND HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!

Hitomi looked out the window feeling inutile. She was alone in the room as Ayumi went to their condo to see if Rika did come home.

She should... She's got nothing with her... She will sure go...

She looked down at the ring on her hand.

Wasn't my love enough?

Hitomi wore Rika's ring on her pinky. She realized that the ring didn't suit her at all. The curves were too soft. But she kept it on.

Hitomi felt her own ring. She was surprised  now that she noticed that it was on her. Hospital personnel usually take such accessories off. Unless...

Rika put it on me...

But the thought was interrupted by Mai's sudden intrusion into the room. "Yoshiko!"

"What?"

"You wouldn't believe this!" She exclaimed.

Hitomi replied with nonchalance. "Keep it low, Mai... I don't own this hospital"

"But, she is right to be anxious about this, Yoshiko..." Ayaka answered following Mai into the room.

"About what?"

Ayaka signalled to someone outside. "Your father was here."

The man she summoned set up a laptop close to the bed.

"They have CCTV cameras in the corridors. Watch."


On the screen, Hitomi saw her father walking up the corridor to her room. He stepped in.

After a short while, he stopped out, followed by Rika.

He was talking and Rika was listening intently.

A folder in Jin's hand. There were what looked like papers. A small white envelope.

He showed her the contents of the folder. She shook her head, seemingly in disbelief. Then tears started falling down her cheeks.

After almost 30 minutes, Rika entered the room crying. He was still outside as if waiting for Rika. A few minutes later, Rika exited the room. Jin started talking to her again, he handed her a small white envelope, which Rika took. He said something again after handing her the envelope but Rika just shook her head before walking away.

Jin looked up. Straight to the camera.

Grinned and waved.

"HE PLANNED THIS! THAT BASTARD!!!"

Ayumi ran to the condo from the lift, taking out the key from her pocket.

She quickly opened the door and rushed inside. Everything was in perfect order and Rika wasn't in sight. She headed straight to the guest room where Rika's clothes were and none of them seemed to be missing.

She thought this was a positive sign. Rika wouldn't just leave with nothing but the clothes on her back.

She took out her phone and dialled Ayaka's number.

"Ayumi."

"Hai. All her things are still here, i think... But there aren't any signs that she even went here..."

"This is bad..." Ayaka replied, sounding worried.

"Why? doesn't this mean that she's gonna come home anyway?"

"Ayumi, it looks like she is planning not to come back"

"What?!"

"I'll talk to you about this later. But now, just return to the hospital."

"Okay."

Ayumi walked out of the condo and locked the door. The corridor was darker than usual and the hall seemed endless as the distance seemed to feed the ends to the darkness.

The light within the lift lit up the spot where Ayumi stood.

Sad thing, is that that's true. If one wants to become "lost" in RP, it's not that hard. Finding them again, on the other hand, that's damn near impossible (and no, Yossi finding Rika the first time doesn't count, because Yossi had been following the van Rika was in for most of the chase).

Ayaka and Mai stood on either side of hospital bed, planning on their next plan of action. The press had been persistent, calling her offics non-stop. But now the press release regarding the incident from the night before was no longer their primary concern.

Ayaka crossed her arms on her chest. "I still think we should call the police for help..."

"I don't want anymore problems with the press regarding Rika. Ma answered, shaking her head. "Now that she is known to be an important person in the company, the press will be asking more questions."

"Well, if it leaks to the press and they will surely broadcast that, Rika will know we're looking for her--"

"Exactly, and if what you're thinking is true that she doesn't want to be found, she'll hide even more!"

"Enough." Hitomi butted in. "Ayaka, Mai... I am tired." Hitomi closed her eyes. "My cell, please."

Ayaka dutifully handed her the phone before leaving the room with Mai. "We will come back in 7 minutes, Yoshiko. Will that be enough time?"

"Yes. Thank you both."

Hitomi needed not to browse the phonebook as she had memorized this number. After three rings, someone picked up.

"Wei,"

"Young master. We heard the news from the TV. What happened."

"It's not important. Call Third. Send for her here."

"Young master, she hasn't completed her mission yet."

"I don't care. Send her here. I need the three of them here."

"Very well then."

"Thank you, Wei."

As soon as he hung up, Hitomi dialled a number again.

"Mako. You have a new mission. Ishikawa Rika. Find her."

"What about the other mission?"

"Drop the case. I am done chasing the past."

"Yes, captain, the Eyes are on it."

She hung up just as Ayaka and Mai re-entered the room.

"Seven minutes up, Yoshiko..." Mai said tunefully.

"I know, Mai. I anticipated your return."

"The doctor said they can release you now. You can rest better at home." Ayaka said handing Hitomi the folder of receipts. "Nothing to worry about no more, Yoshiko, everything's been paid for."

"I don't want to stay here, Ayaka... but... I don't want to go home..."

I can understand Mai's apprehension towards contacting the authorities about Rika, it doesn't seem like a good idea. For the company or for Yossy. She's calling in the big guns AKA the Eyes. Aww, I'm sure home reminds her too much of Rika.

One way or the other, the press will continue to ask it's questions. The only control that Yossi-tachi has right now is on what (if any) statements they give to the press.  For obvious reasons, they want to keep Rika's name from getting mentioned. Not only could it cause a big headache for the deal with Aya's company should anyone start using their journalistic connections to try and dig for some info on Rika, but like Mai said, if word gets out, it'll just alert Rika and give her more incentive to stay out of sight.

Rika looked out once more to find that she was close. When the cab reached the destination she specified, she opened the white envelope and took out some bills to pay her fare. She had travelled quite a distance so she wasn't surprised that the meter went up to 357.20 pesos.

"Salamat po, sa inyo na yung sukli..." (Thank you, please keep the change) She said to the driver before turning away from him.

She looked around and found that not much has changed in the place where she had just set foot. She was back to where she had started in this country.

She took a deep breath before walking into the old dilapidated building. The people running this place might not recognize her anymore. But then, as long as she can pay the rent, she will be welcome here, more or less.

Hitomi leaned against Ayaka's shoulder as they drove to Mai's place. They decided to take Mai's van for the simple reason that Ayaka didn't want to drive.

Hitomi was wearing a blue t-shirt and black sweatpants, the clothes that Rika bought for Hitomi from the botique at the hospital.

The three of them were quite as they traversed the busy streets of Makati until Hitomi opened her mouth.

"Why didn't I just fall in love with either of you?" she asked in half-jest.

"Because we're not your type?" Mai said in response.

Ayaka shook her head. "Do you want my friendship with Mai to end? Because that's what's gonna happen if you pick her over me."

"Well I don't think Yoshiko will pick you over ME."

Hitomi faintly smiled. She hoped it was good enough so not to make her two best freinds worry about her.

Rika, where are you?

"Yoshiko... we're worried about her too..." Ayaka whispered as she caressed Hitomi's hair. "... we will find her... and everything will be okay..."

"It is not her I am thinking about, Ayaka..." Hitomi lied. "The company... how are things running?"

"Well everything's still okay... but the world crisis is gaining on us..."

"But everything has been set-up, right?"

"Yes... We don't have any debts, really... so we don't have a problem in finance... I'm afraid most of the problem will fall into Mai's hands since people will be reluctant in spending..."

Mai butted in, after stopping at a red light. "the whole market is like that right now... so there is nothing to fear about competition..."

"Yes... ... it seems there really is no competition..." Hitomi straightened up before looking outside, to the west, where she didn't know, Rika was.
