So, I really wanted to avoid reading stuff about this until its all sorted out. I don't care if that makes me a bad fan, I just don't want to be reading a million articles every day saying different, or the same, things and just worrying about something (end result) that may or may not happen. I love KARA, I respect KARA and thats not about to change.
One thing I will say though is I love Nicole's mum. I trust her! She and Nicole have a beautiful, close relationship. They discuss things between each other. She understands and knows her daughter's feelings and thoughts. She wants to protect her only child and I see nothing wrong with that! Yes she has a twitter, but she isn't the only parent of a Kpop idol who does. Yes she tweeted about the matter, but the media blew that up into something it wasn't. I asked someone to trans it when it happened and basically all she said was that what kind of a parent would she be if she stood back and watched her 5 daughters hurt. I think its about time parents took action against these entertainment industries for how they treat their children because we all know they do care.
As for Gyuri's mum. She was an actress herself. She probably experienced similar treatment, so she probably sees it as the way it should be if her daughter wants to be in the industry. But you can't blame the other parents for wanting better care for their beloved children.
What was not called for was Seungyeon's dad calling Gyuri out and saying she failed in her job as leader because she allowed this to escalate so far. In my understanding, the job of a leader is to LEAD the girls, to prepare them, organise them, keep them on schedule etc. As a leader, which really is just a 'title', I don't see it as her job to negotiate contracts with the company and demand change. That is a GROUP action. She is their leader, not their manager.
But for now... we wait.
