Has anyone heard of Maximum The Hormone? I've only heard "Koi no Megaraba" and it was like....great. There were two vocalist and it sounded like there was four or more since they switch to different voices during some parts. The song was like...punkish and later has some rapping, growling, high pitch yelling parts and...it switches pace one in a while sounding really heavy and stuff and the chorus was catchy as hell and all. Thats like a lot of random stuffs in one song.
So....yeah. Anyone?

I like them. I think they're classified as trash, but of course they mix in other stuff like catchy poppy hooks in the chorus and such. They have 4 members,

Daisuke (vocal, screaming and shrieking and stuff)
Ryou (vocal, rap, guitar)
Nao (drums, vocal, chorus)
Ue-chan (bass)

The vocals is basically split among 3 members. The growling and high pitched screaming is by the same guy, lol. I think Nao is the most important member of the band. The catchy pop parts of the songs are credited pretty much to her backing vocals. She's the voice at their concerts; and is the one who works the crowd. Anyway, they're a fun band. Check out this interview: http://www.keikaku.net/features/58

I love Maximum the Hormone. I got their DVD when I was in Japan last summer. I can't explain it other than saying they're fucking nuts on stage. In a way all of them are vocalists. There's a track on Rokkinpo Goroshi where Ue-cha is the main vocals, I think.

Very un Sex Machine Guns indeed. I kinda like it, though.

He slings his guitar pretty low.

LOL! I just actually watched the video instead of listening to it while looking at other sites and during the solo he's dressed up like Slash! Even has the big poofy  hair. Excellent.

Not very SMG...
whoa, i missed this.

it really is very un-smg. which is refreshing...
:P i guess he wants to distance himself from the 'band'

the song is.. i dunno, maybe it'll grow on me...

^heh The monster things that appeared part way through reminded me of the monsters they use to represent germs in children's shows. I liked it though. I'm downloading some of their stuff right now. Thanks, Guchi.

Hidekazu is leaving Zazen Boys :( http://www.bounce.com/news/daily.php/9756.
He'll be joining Nakamura Tetsuya (LOSALIOS) for a new project.

Don't worry, he's still in Straightener though. Now I'm sad, I like him in Zazen Boys. But I have faith in Mukai. Inazawa left and he was replaced by Matsushita. Not as great a drummer, but he is solid and very consistent. Fits in well considering the choppy rhythm they tend to play. Anyway I hope Mukai finds a good replacement.

I'm listening to BACK-ON's New World album... I usually hate most rock/hip-hop hybrid type stuff, but they have a pretty good sound in this album o_o

I heard some of BACK-ON's previews but thought it sucked. But after listening to the full songs and a bunch of their albums I thought they're pretty darn good. So...yeah. They've released like...3 mini albums or something? I don't know. But I want more.

This maximum hormone video is pretty fucking bad ass.

[yt]pa31gsivbWM[/yt]

I dled the song somewhere... though I have no idea where as I just found it in my hard drive. It had no tags or a name but I searched the filename and it was on some japanese uploader with the name of the song and band as a comment.

I think I realized why I didn't like alot of their songs. Most of their songs sound like they have no idea what they want to sound like and just tried to mix everything in there. They also mix nu-metal in there which I freakin hate... But this song sounds more like an actual song than 5, I like it.

Edit: Seems to be the ending of the Death Note Anime or something. That would explain the PV

I've only heard one Maximum the Hormone song (their latest)and that blew me away. I did like how they tried to combine different stuffs together. Well it worked for me. And now this.
Wonder why I've never heard of them since they've been around for some time.

YES! I finally got my copy of the September issue of Young guitar. Unfortunately, it's not the one that contained the lesson from the youtube video... BUT it does have a performance by all of Jikuu Kaizoku SEVEN SEAS! They're playing "Chasing Light". Even better news is that there's a second version that focuses only on EITA! Score!
I've uploaded them here. Enjoy!

Oh, sorry about the audio. That's just the way it was on the DVD.
