You need to step your finnish skills up, dude. It's Jokinen. And now that Tuomo Ruutu is out indefinitely, Jokinen will be playing in the olympics.

OHHhH baby. Oilers finally snap their 3 game losing streak. 3-2 in a OT shootout over the Sharks! FUCK YES. Can we get a goalie that is consistent? I doubt it.

It's crazy. Crosby is not as mature, he's getting hacked and wacked like any skilled player and he's breaking down. Ovechkin makes it look so damn easy. They've been showing Top 10 Goals of All Time, On Their Ass, etc. Most of them are like goals where the guy is actually square to the net, can see the net, despite falling. Ovechkin's goal is like completely blind crashing and he actually is tipping his stick and aiming. FUCKIN GOAL OF THE CENTURY!! :w00t:

Good news Peggers :w00t:

Lemieux: "Penguins are for sale"

"We've had quite a few inquiries over the last few months," Lemieux said. "I think the timing was right to look at them and explore them and see what our options are. ... We've laid the foundation for the future and hopefully in a way that they'll stay here forever."

Never say never man!!

Selanne hits 1,000 points

"Only 70 players in NHL history have done that, so it's a big honor to be in that club," the Mighty Ducks' Selanne said Monday night after he scored two goals to reach 1,000 career points in Anaheim's 4-3 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

"I'm very lucky that I've always played with great players who have helped me a lot. You can't score 1,000 points if you don't have great linemates and great teammates."

Scott Niedermayer made sure his Anaheim teammate's milestone wasn't sullied by a loss. Niedermayer scored 1:48 into overtime to give the Ducks the victory.

Selanne's second goal came when he sliced in from the right side and backhanded the puck over goalie Mathieu Garon's right shoulder. Playing his 928th NHL game, the 35-year-old Selanne scored his 476th goal at 8:33 of the third period to put Anaheim up 3-2.

The nine-time All-Star credited Andy McDonald with making an "unbelievable pass" to set up No. 1,000.

"I just tried to get some speed, because I knew the puck was going to come. I had a feeling I was going to score, and I was happy that it was a pretty goal, too and not on a rebound," Selanne said. "Every goal is important, but getting a milestone like that with a pretty goal, it was very special."

His power-play goal in the second period tied it at 1.

When Selanne scored the second, he was mobbed by his teammates, who took turns hugging him. When he returned to the bench, the sellout crowd of 17,174 cheered until he finally stood and waved.

"We were obviously really proud and happy for him," Niedermayer said. "Not only is he a great player, but he's a great guy. He has a lot of fun around the rink and all the guys enjoy him.

"He's really showing the younger guys how to be a professional. He's out there working extremely hard, fighting in the corners for pucks, finishing his checks and playing real well for us."

Said Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle: "Teemu has been a dynamic player for a long time in the league. It's a tribute to him and his commitment to the game."

Selanne is the seventh European to reach 1,000 points, and joins friend Jari Kurri as the only Finns on the list. Wayne Gretzky holds the NHL record with 2,857 points.

"Jari was my idol when I was growing up, and I think it's great to follow in his footsteps," Selanne said.

Yeah. Finnish Flash! He would made it faster if he wasn't so injured but he's been having the fuckin comeback as #13 in Anahemi this year. Let's remember him in Peg Sheety:

Ain't Saito we're talking aboot!

...fuck. been a while since I posted here. How about them Oilers? Goddammit. Ethan "Chopper" Moreau, our heart and soul goes and injures his right ankle AT A FUCKIN PICKUP BASKETBALL GAME

Oilers had a mass FINNISH EXODUS ... ridding us of deadweight Jani Rita and MIA Tony Salmelainen for Dick Tarnstrom and Jaroslav Spacek. Fuck Lowe better get us a goalie.

I hope to go to the home game vs the Ducks for a LIFESIZE poster of Chris Pronger. Dude is like Norris material - getting PPG after PPG. And that tying goal at 0.3 seconds left vs Phoenix. TOO SWEET.

AND Ray Emery. Been choking in his last few starts, GM John Muckler told him to get Mike Tyson off his mask!!

"He told me the reason he put Tyson on his mask is because he was an idol of his, as a boxer," said Muckler. "He knows now that (Tyson) he's lost that right because of his conviction as a rapist and also as a female abuser. And he told me he would take the mask off."

Ok, although the 2006 AHL Allstar game DID have it moments, I think that I can say that it was by far the WORST display of professional sports that I have ever seen in my life - and probably ever will.  Absolute lack of effort by the majority of both teams, and too many failed attempts at fancy passing instead of being aggressive and taking shots.  Un-fuckin'-real.  Ah well, not like I'm ever going to see an NHL skills comp or All Star game in the MTS Centre anytime soon.

Canadiens' goalie Jose Thedore was caught in a doping-test. What do you think? Is he covering steroids or just his baldness?

Kinda stupid this doesn't affect his career in NHL at all.

Jagr has Rangers on a roll

In 1966-67, the New York Rangers ended one of the worst eras in their history by making the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in five years. Nearly four decades later, the Rangers are on the rise again, leading the Atlantic Division after missing the playoffs for the last seven seasons. No player is more responsible for this season's rise than Jaromir Jagr.

Not only is Jagr the NHL leader in goals (42) and points (91), he's been involved in an incredibly high percentage of his team's scoring. Jagr has scored 22.1 percent of the Rangers' 190 non-shootout goals, a higher percentage than any player but Washington's Alexander Ovechkin (38 of 156, 24.4 percent). And Jagr has had points on 91 of the Rangers' tallies, a league-leading 47.9 percent.

Jagr is also threatening to rewrite the Rangers' record book. His 42 goals, including two Thursday night in Philadelphia, already ranks ninth on the Rangers' all-time single-season list, and he's on pace to shatter the team record of 52 set by Adam Graves in 1993-94. His 91 points are only 18 less than the team record of 109, set by Jean Ratelle in 1971-72 (the lowest team-record total among any of the Original Six teams, and a total Jagr has exceeded three times in his career). No Ranger has won the Art Ross Trophy for leading the NHL in scoring since Bryan Hextall, another right wing, in 1941-42; Jagr's five Art Ross Trophies are more than the Rangers' franchise has won since joining the NHL in 1926.

http://www.nhl.com/columns/kreiser/jagr030306.html

Jagr = God  :bow:

However he's a bit too important for the Rangers, they'd be doomed if Jagr got injured for a month or two.
