"The Chargers got killed in week 2 they will get killed again."

I'm sure you guys heard at least one person say this. The Chargers played AWFUL in that game. They were at the beginning of 5-5 season where they were still getting used to Norv and Ted. Also at this point Cromartie hadn't emerged as one of the best CB in the NFL.
A lot of of peeps think our defense sucks because we give up a ton of yards- but we lead the NFL in turnovers for a reason - and those reasons showed up in the indy and tenn games. Pressure can affect the perfection of a passing game.
If the Patriots can protect the ball, then they should win, but the ball is shaped oblong for a reason and you never know which way it will bounce. So yes, we do have a chance to upset the high an' mighty Patriots.
Statistically over the past 8 weeks, the Chargers have outperformed the Pats... just goes to show how different this team is to the one that got stomped in week 2.
17-0? The best team very rarely wins the SB. Were the Colts the best team last year? Were the Steelers the best team before that? Were the 01 Patriots really better than the Rams? Were the Broncos better than the Packers? I'd have to say no to all of these.
Say we beat the Patriots, does one game make everyone believe San Diego is the best team in the league? The best team doesn't always win.
For a little history, here's something interesting to think about:
In 2003 the Patriots had the best record in the NFL, in 2004 they won the SB.
In 2004 the Steelers had the best record in the NFL, in 2005 they won the SB.
In 2005 the Colts had the best record in the NFL, in 2006 they won the SB.
In 2006 the Chargers had the best record in the NFL, in 2007 they ...?
Guess we'll find out.
