I actually started on the Mehrunes quest last night. I'm only on level 21 now.

The only problem I have is that now, I'm running out of lockpicks and I need more. Stupid expert chests made me break them. Any ideas on where I can get more somewhere?

You'll find a good 20-30 in every dungeon, and most shopkeeps sell em. There's also some lockpicking perks that help a lot.

OR (spoilers)

You can join the Thieves Guild. After a late quest, you come into possession of a skeleton key. It will never ever break. You keep it as long as you don't finish the final quest related to it.

Collecting my dragon masks now, and working on collecting more shouts too. I sure love Storm Call.

^ found some lockpicks earlier today, so I'm good. Right now between watching UFC and playing the game, finished the Mehrunes quest and got one of the masks. Wonder how you can get the others?

Hopefully, I can start the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood quests by tomorrow. BTW, on the sidequest where you have to save a Grey-Mane, make sure you say yes for the brother to assist. It got me killed several times trying to get in and out of the place. Damn mages kept being a pain in the ass for me.

Picked a direction and just started walking and without even realising I stumbled onto the place where a bunch of Forsaken were holding onto Red Eagle's sword. Also found his tomb and used the sword to open it up further and fought with the (undead) man himself. Was ready for him when he casted a shout on me which completely disarmed me :o Wasn't expecting it. He was super strong too, I had to retry a number of times. Did it though. Protip: When you're leaving the tomb, make sure to pick up the sword you put in the stone. Killing Red Eagle turns the sword from dealing fire damage to causing undead warriors up to Lvl 13 or so flee from battle. Seeing as you can pick up Red Eagle's greatsword that deals fire damage, it means it's a better sword to have.

Also, I discovered this massive fort in the mountains, again overrun with Forsaken soldiers. And I mean massive, it had multiple rooms and took me a while to explore it all, but it's not coming up as 'Cleared' on my map. Not sure if I'm missing something. Although looking at it, it is tied to an achievement in the game, I guess there must be some quest for it which I've preemptively cleared. Wouldn't be the first time XD

I came across one like that. A big fort with three seperate interiors and quite a few different ways to attack it. I managed to sneak by and climb the highest tower and killed almost everyone with arrows. I actually haven't done a whole lot lately. I'm trying to raise money to buy a home in Solitude(About halfway there right now) and just trying to do a bunch of the sidequests that I picked up early on and forgot about.

Exactly how I played that one too! Also found out there was a way you could crawl in through a sewer outside it.

I haven't even made my way toward Solitude yet, it's pretty high up to make it up there.

You can always find a carriage outside a major city and it will take you to any other major city instantly for a small fee. I know for sure there's a carriage outside Whiterun.

thanks, I would play but I can't get past the stupid loading screen. It's been playing for the last 20 minutes. I've reset it, checked it for scratches and everything.

Anybody have the same problem I'm having :(

I'm at a part in the game which makes my computer crash. When I walk into the room the computer becomes unresponsive and requires a reboot. Not played Skyrim for about a week because of it.

As you guys know the current updates fixes some stuff, but brings some other weird stuff.
So I wouldn't try them unless necessary and keep it at vanilla version, till they get their act together.

^ Kanon
You bought the PS3 version, right? It's probably the one with the most lag problems right now.
Bethesda's 1.2 update was aimed at fixing PS3 lagging. So that might help. 1.3 is aimed at PC, so that won't make much of a difference.
I think you should at least try other things first though, like loading an earlier save at least to see if those still work. And search the net on how other gamers are handling it.

^Paraspam
That's happened to me once only. Returned normal when I reloaded the nearest auto-save.
If you have any mods, try temporarily removing them to see if it helps. And the 1.3 update might fix it...
Or you could try the 4GB mod if you have over 2GB (won't help much if your problem is a game bug though).
Course, check the net to see if others have the same problem. If you still have problems, you might have to not enter that room ever...

Since the game has a lot of bugs, it just took time till gamers here would start getting problems too.
Hope Bethesda at least fixes the biggest game-stopping ones soon, like lagging and game crashing.

^ well, I don't think you can keep it vanilla unless you put the updates in first. I mean, this is the first major problem for me since I started playing. I do have some save files, but they're from the autosaves.

I hope I don't have to restart my entire game over again

Haven't updated this thread in a while, probably cause I haven't had a chance to play it much this week. What little I did do though, I arrived in the city of Markarth for the first time and that's an um...interesting introduction to the city. Basically the guards give me the usual shit, don't interfere or you'll get in trouble blah blah. So first thing I see when I enter the gates is this marketplace and a woman is at a stall talking about how she would love to buy this item. Before I knew it, this guy pulled out a knife and stabbed her right in the back. The guards leaping up in defense to kill him. :o So that was unfortunate, though it did kick off a cool side quest, a 'who done it' mystery to find out the motive for the murder. Markarth's a cool city, built into the mountains like that. Picked up so many quests too :o Think I found my first broken one too. The innkeeper told me about some guy who had something interesting to tell me. Except, I already spoke to him and found out what it was before I spoke to the innkeeper. So even though there's a quest telling me to 'Talk to ....' anytime I do it just gives me the standard dialogue options. A shame, but no biggie.

OH yeah, odd thing that happened to me in Markarth the first time I visited.

I went to Understone Keep and found my way into the legate's room in the back.  Had a lengthy chat with the legate then towards the end of the convo, I got attacked by a legion guard!  All the while, the legate was still talking to me, not noticing that one of his men was hacking away at me (but of course he wouldn't).  So I defended myself and attacked the guard back.  Then the legate turned on me and then the tiny room was swarming with guards.  It was insane.  I didn't make it out alive because I was just so in shock.

I'm guessing the guard was attacking me because technically I wasn't supposed to be back in this room.  Normally there's a guard at the foot of the stairs leading up to the legate's room who'd tell you that you're not allowed there.  But sometimes he walks away and you can go up.  Maybe he saw me go in and it took him a while to follow me. XD

Another funny companion bug i remember. When I went inside the Dwemer dungeon at the back of Markath to get that historian guy his thing... dun remember.

Well, there's this huge pool under the stone bridge. While walking across and fighting stuff, I lost my companion... I searched the whole place and still couldn't find her. :(
Then I dived underwater to get the treasures, and found her just standing there underwater.... for the past 30+ minutes!

Think I talked to her underwater, far point and clicks, and a few shouts to get her back out. ah.... :nervous

Oblivion post >_>

Sometimes this game creeps me out unintentionally...

STOP LOOKING AT ME

I started a new character because I wasn't really feeling my first one. Made a custom class that is basically a mage + sneak skill. lol

Currently all I do is make potions...

I think she's cute! Perhaps the best looking female character seen in an Elder Scrolls game XD

Making my way to create this sick ass enchanted warhammer. It'll make foes up to Level 12 run away in fear when they've been hit. Anyone got a cool name I can give to it?

*EDIT*

Scratch that, Kimmuu came up with one for me quick as you like. A name to strike fear into the hearts of enemies I'm sure you'll agree It should be 'awesomeness' but it wouldn't take anymore characters XD

So last night I was out questing, exploring as I do when on the path to Whiterun I met this farmer with a cow. But it looked like a devil cow, it had these tribal markings painted on him. When I got closer the farmer told me to back off. I was able to ask him why and he said he was walking to a giant camp with the cow as an offering and he didn't want want them to think that I was part of the offering. He said he makes an offering to them once every year and apparently it works, he hadn't had a giant attack on his farm in all that time. I offered to help but he turned it down and we went on our merry way. Except I was curious, I wanted to see this go down so I hung back a bit and followed them. It was funny because during the journey, the cow would just stop, the farmer would walk for a bit, then he too would stop, look around and the cow would then follow as if the cow knew what he was getting himself into. Eventually after about 20 mins (dear lord that farmer was slow) they arrived at the camp. I was thinking what would happen cause I'd never seen or heard of a giant being peaceful before. So as was the norm the cow had stopped, the farmer walked on and the farmer walked right up behind this giant. Then the giant turned round, went into fight mode and smacked the farmer around the face killing him instantly. Seeing this, the cow dashed off at the speed of a deer in the opposite direction.

Seeing all this, at 2AM when I'm already feeling tired, turned out to be the funniest thing ever.
