Hi guys~ Thanks so much for the comments in the last oneshot. Also, I'm quite pleased that apparently, I'm 'converting' some of you to MaYuki fans. Jump in the ship already! Trust me, MaYuki is ghagdskdjkashdds adorable. :3 Okay then, I bring you now some angst. I already posted this on my tumblr both in my personal one and in my akbshorts one. Have fun~

“It’s my dream, Yu-chan. I’m sorry.”

That was all she said and Yuko’s grip on her skirt tightened as she tried to hold back the tears. She looked at Haruna, her Haruna, and asked in a shaky voice, “Will your dream make you happy?”

Haruna hesitated for a second before nodding and Yuko hated it. She hated how Haruna hesitated because it means that she’s not certain about her answer and it has been Yuko’s job for as long as she remembers to keep the taller girl happy but Yuko said nothing because Haruna is breaking everything off for her dream so that must mean that her dream is really of great importance to her and Yuko respected that.

“Okay then, Nyan Nyan. I understand.” She smiled and shrugged. “It’s your dream we’re talking about after all. I understand it. The concept of choosing your dream above anything else. That’s what we’re all here for anyway, right?”

Haruna sighed in relief and smiled at her. “Thank you, Yu-chan.”

Yuko smiled too, and she wondered how great of a liar she must have been for Haruna to believe her because really, Yuko would give up being an idol in a split second for Haruna. She’ll give up everything for Haruna.

They hugged, Yuko clutching on Haruna tighter than she ever had knowing that it might be her last chance to hold her. Yuko smiled sadly at her and pressed her lips one last time against Haruna’s before telling her to go on ahead first because Yuko’s about to burst in tears any second now and she really doesn’t want Haruna to see that. She’s a bit relieved when Haruna nodded and walked away.

Two weeks after, Yuko walked up to Yuki and placed a hand on the captain’s arm. “Yukirin, let’s talk.”

Yuki looked at her weirdly for a second, which is fine by Yuko because they were never really close despite being able to talk from time to time when their schedules overlapped, but nodded anyway. “Excuse us for a while, Mayu.” Yuko smiled at the younger girl, her oshiri sister, before taking Yuki away.

Yuko settled on one of the deserted hallways of the theatre and she sat on the floor, her back against the wall, before patting the spot beside her, gesturing Yuki to sit.

“How’s your team, Yukirin?” Yuko started.

“Good as always. Everyone’s happy and everyone gets along well.” Yuki answered with a warm smile and Yuko could see then and there how much love Yuki has for her team.

“You really take good care of them, huh?” Yuko mused, her fingers picking on a loose thread in the edge of her shirt.

“Of course.”

Yuko stayed silent for a while and so does Yuki. She glanced once at Yuki and the young captain was just staring ahead seemingly waiting for something from Yuko but at the same time, isn’t. “You’re not the skeptical and suspicious type, huh?”

Yuki smiled sweetly and she reminded Yuko of a princess. Yuki really is like a princess. “I’m sure you didn’t pull me here for me to interrogate you or something.” Yuki shrugged. “I’m here to listen not to pry into your life.”

Yuko chuckled and bumped her shoulder against Yuki’s playfully. “I should have befriended you a long time ago. Should have stolen you away from Shiriri-chan.”

“That would destroy the oshiri sisters.” Yuki joked back and they both giggled for a while before falling in silence again.

“Can I ask you a favor?” Yuko said. “A big one.”

“If I can do it then sure.”

“Haruna… Can you take care of her? Look after her like how you look after Mayu?” Yuko slowly stated, mulling over her words in her head. “Can you take care of her as if she’s a part of your team?”

Yuki looked at Yuko for a few seconds before asking, “Why?”

“I talked to Akimoto-san yesterday…” Yuko lowered her voice, as if someone else aside from Yuki will hear her. “I’ll be graduating next week.”

“Graduating?”
Yuki’s eyes widened.

Yuko smiled bitterly. “Yeah… Too soon, huh? I thought so too but… It’s hard. If Mayu,” Yuko stopped for a second, checking Yuki’s reaction. “If Mayu one day, chooses her dream over you, would you stay?”

Yuki didn’t give an answer and Yuko smiled lopsidedly. “So? Can you, Yukirin? At least until she reaches her dream.”

Yuki nodded. “Okay. I promise.”

Yuko smiled and gave Yuki a hug that lasted for a few minutes. She was thankful that she chose Yuki. She made the right decision. Takamina would only scold her for her decision on a whim and Sayaka would probably lash out at her for not consulting her first but Yuki, Yuki understood her because it was Yuki’s team that suffered the most during the team shuffle and mass graduation. It was Yuki who knows that she’s not ending everything she worked hard for just because she decided to graduate. “Thank you, Yukirin.”

The remaining week was painfully long for Yuko and Yuki and Mayu, who found out through Yuki. Yuko spent the week collecting as many memories as she can, hugging everyone, saying subtle goodbyes the members have no idea about, taking as many pictures with everyone and spending as much time as she can in the theatre, her second home. Yuki and Mayu who knew what was coming became filled with dread. It was sad, waiting for the day Yuko announces her graduation to everyone, the moment she steps off the bus that’s taking them to their dreams. Because despite not being in the same teams, they are AKB as a whole. They’re family.

The day Yuko announced her graduation, it was during a concert. The concert just ended and they were about to go when Yuko grabbed the mic. Most of the girls were hurt because they weren’t given a heads up about it. Some took it well, those who understand Yuko the most and some scolded her, Takamina and Sayaka, but they respected her decision.

On her last day at the theatre, everyone started saying their goodbyes. There were tears, lots of them, last minute laughter, reminders, jokes and whatnot. After saying goodbye to everyone (reminding Takamina that she’s her number one captain, telling Acchan to keep working hard for AKB and thanking Sayaka for everything) Yuko gave Yuki a special hug, a long one, before reminding her of her promise and thanking her again.

Naturally, the last to say goodbye to her was Haruna. Haruna who looked at her guiltily.

“It’s not about us, Nyan Nyan.” Yuko assured with a smile. “I decided this on my own. I want to find my dream.”

Haruna nodded and Yuko pulled the girl she loved—still loves in for their last hug and ran her hands through the silky hair she loves so much as she whispered,

“Goodbye.” —Don’t let go.

“Be happy.” —Don’t leave me.

“Move on.” —Don’t forget me.

“I’m okay.” —It hurts.

“Don’t worry about me and move forward.” —Please don’t leave.

The hug ended too soon for Yuko but she pulled her arms away and tucked them inside her pocket. “Go after your dream, Nyan Nyan. I’ll look forward to it.”

Those were her last words and the last time she saw Haruna.

Several years has passed and Yuko was back on the entertainment industry. Today’s hottest actress, Oshima Yuko. Through years of hard work, Yuko managed to bring herself together again. She stays in contact with Mayu and Yuki, meeting up with them from time to time whenever their schedules allowed. The others have gone their own way too, some quit the industry and some stayed. Takamina is a solo artist, Acchan is a successful star, Sayaka and Sae made a duo, Yuki a drama actress, Mayu still together with her unit, Watarirouka Hashiritai. And Haruna, a hotshot international move star. Her dream.

“Hai, Oshima-san.” The host asks Yuko with a smile. “You’ve gotten far now since you’ve made a comeback after graduating from AKB, how are you feeling?”

Yuko smiles back, “Good. My work paid off and none of the time I spent under Akimoto-san’s guidance were wasted.”

“That’s good to hear! Your career must mean everything to you, huh?”

Yuko stays quiet for a while, everything that happened in her life playing in her head.

“No, not really.” Yuko shakes her head.

Her answer brought gasps. “No? Your career isn’t the most important to you? Isn’t this your dream?” The host asks, leaning in closer.

Yuko shakes her head, rubbing her shaky hands together. “No, it isn’t. This isn’t my dream. I’d give up my career any second.”

“That’s quite an answer, Oshima-san. For what?”

Yuko hesitates for a moment. She’s never addressed her past issues since the day she left AKB. She never looked back when she decided to leave. So now, after so many years. . . To address it now, Yuko can only wish that Haruna is watching her.

“I’d give up everything for my only true dream.” — To have Haruna beside me.

So yeah... Let me know what you guys think!

that was excellent.. i was thinking of writing something with yuko graduating as well, but looks like you beat me to it ^^

never would have thought yuko would confide in yukirin over the other 2 captains, but her choice seemed logical enough. at least haruna got to live her dream, now only if yuko would too!

love your oneshots as always, so please continue to write! :hee:

L o v e  I n f e c t i o n

I

Uninterested brown eyes watched as the red ball bounced back and forth from the children playing. Her hand moved with grace across the sketchpad in her lap, strokes here, strokes there, a little bit of shading, outlining and finally, erasing the rough sketch.

“A ball? That’s it?”

Her hand froze in place.

A ball, Mayu. Really, now.”

Mayu ripped the page off and turned to glare at the other girl. “Nacchan, you’re hovering. How can I draw something properly if you’re hovering, hm?”

“I wouldn’t hover if you are actually getting something done, Mayu.” Nacchan, Hirajima Natsumi, bit back with her own glare. “You barely have a month to complete your piece for the exhibit. All year long, all you did was to draw, sketch and paint. I can’t understand why you still don’t have a piece to enter!”

“Geez, Nacchan. Relax, why don’t you?” Mayu mumbled despite her own worries. Nacchan was right after all, she still doesn’t have a piece she can enter in the exhibit-slash-auction in a month.

“How can I relax, Mayu? This is the annual art exhibit-slash-auction we are talking about. You can’t just lose, you know that, right?” The hotheaded girl asked in exasperation but all she got was a nod. She sighed, “You have tons of pieces lying around in your apartment. They’re all beautiful, why don’t you just pick one from them?”

As shake of the head. “No, I don’t like those. They lack something.” Mayu locked eyes with Nacchan and smiled softly. “I just need to find my inspiration again, Nacchan. Stop worrying too much, alright? I’ll make the deadline, okay? I promise.”

Nacchan stared at the girl in pigtails, contemplating her next move but she knew all too well that there’s nothing else she can do. “Just. . . Find your inspiration fast, Watanabe Mayu.” She chided as she spun on her heel and started walking away. “And I don’t want you entering a ball or any ugly thing like that, either.”

“Roger, Natsumi-sama.” Mayu answered with a happy smile. She stretched her arms above her head and let out a blissful smile. “Peace and quiet at last!”

“Don’t run, Miichan!”

Mayu turned her attention to the playground of the park where the voice came from and saw the red ball rolling towards her followed by a running small kid. She placed her sketchpad down on the bench, stood up before crouching down and getting the ball.

“Ah, Miichan!”

The alarmed voice caught her attention and Mayu looked up just in time to see the small girl a few feet away from her falling forwards. She quickly dropped the ball and reached for the kid’s hand, “Gotcha!” She pulled the kid forward and wrapped her other arm around the kid as she fell on her butt.

Mayu hissed at the pain. “O-Ouch. . .”

“Miichan, I told you not to run!”

Mayu felt the small girl climb off of her.

“Oh my, are you alright?”

Mayu looked up at the owner of the voice and was met with worried eyes. “Y-yeah. . .” Mayu answered, slightly taken aback by the concern clouding the brown eyes. “I-I’m fine.”

A hand was offered to her and Mayu took it as she pushed herself up and started dusting off her shorts.

“Miichan, apologize to her.” The tall girl ordered the kid, gesturing towards Mayu. “And say thank you.”

“I’m sorry, onee-chan.” The small kid, Miichan, bowed to Mayu. “And thank you, onee-chan!”

Mayu just smiled, muttering a small ‘You’re welcome’ before the kid sprinted away again.

“Be careful, Miichan!” The tall girl shouted after Miichan who was already back with the other kids. She turned to Mayu and smiled apologetically. “I’m really sorry about that. And thank you, too.”

“I-Its fine.” Mayu stuttered in response as she took in the look of the girl standing in front of her. She was tall, several inches taller than Mayu. Her skin looked really smooth, her eyes were big, her hair jet black. The girl standing before Mayu was beautiful. Really beautiful.

“Well, I’ll be going then.” The tall girl gave a small bow before walking away.

Mayu watched the girl walk away, long hair swaying along with the wind and the white skirt she was wearing fluttering behind her with grace. “Just like a princess.” Mayu whispered to herself before sitting back on her bench, eyes still on the other girl.

Mayu watched for a few seconds more before reaching for her sketchpad and her pencil. Her hand started dancing along with her pencil as she alternated her eyes from her rough sketching to her subject. She finished just in time to see the tall girl hold Miichan’s hand. Mayu’s eyes followed the girl’s retreating form as she walked out of the park.

Mayu glanced at her sketch and smiled to herself before scribbling on the bottom of it.

Hime-sama.

-

“It’s you.”

Mayu looked up from her sketch pad. “Ah, hime-sama.”

The tall girl’s face turned red. “Hime-sama?”

Mayu grinned. “Is there anything I can do for you, your highness?” she asked playfully.

“Nothing much, I just recognized you from before and thought maybe I could come over.” The girl answered, an amused smile playing on her lips. “I’m not a princess though.  Must be disappointing to you.”

“Mhm, not really. You still look like one to me.” Mayu closed her sketchpad and scooted over. “Why don’t you take a seat, hime-sama?”

The girl let out a giggle and sat beside Mayu. “You draw?”

Mayu shrugged. “A bit. Where’s your sister?” The girl looked at her in confusion. “You know, the little girl from before?”

“Oh, Miichan. She’s not my sister. I was just babysitting her. Something I do when there’s nothing to do around.”

“Oh. How about today, no babysitting?”

The girl shook her head. “No, so do you mind if I join you here for a while?” The girl asked with a small smile. “There’s nothing to do today.”

“It would be an honor, hime-sama.”

“It’s Yuki, actually. Kashiwagi Yuki.”

Mayu smiled, the hime-sama looked a bit prettier now that she has a beautiful name to match with the beautiful face.

“Nice to meet you, Yuki hime-sama. It’s Watanabe Mayu.”

They talked for hours. About the kids Yuki babysits, about the town, about how there is never much people in the park, about Mayu’s sketchpad, which she expertly avoided talking about. And Mayu learned that there’s more to the princess than just a pretty face. There’s a pretty personality too.

“I gotta go now though, hime-sama.” Mayu smiled in regret, wanting to talk with Yuki longer but Nacchan has been sending her mail like crazy for two hours now.

“Oh, right. Sorry if I kept you.” Yuki smiled apologetically to which Mayu shook her head.

“Not at all. I had a lot of fun talking to you.” Mayu grinned at the other girl and picked up her sketchpad. “Goodbye then, Yuki hime-sama.”

“Bye, Mayu.”

Mayu waved and started walking away, typing a reply to Nacchan’s new mail with one hand.

“Mayu, wait!”

Mayu stopped in her tracks and turned around to look at Yuki.

Yuki blushed and looked at the ground for a moment before slowly lifting her eyes and meeting Mayu’s curious ones. “Tomorrow. . . Will I see you again tomorrow?”

A smile planted itself on Mayu’s face as she answered. “If it’s your lucky day, then maybe you will.”

Mayu winked at the now smiling girl before giving a final wave and walking away.

Hi guys~ This time's oneshot is a TomoAamin one, insipred by Butler Aamin and Tomomi ojou-sama during Aamin's danso. Enjoy~

vii.

T o m o m i - s a m a

Itano Tomomi heaved out a sigh as she stared out the window of her room. The maids and the butlers were all lined up in front of the mansion and that could only mean one thing. She uninterestedly watched as the gates of their mansion automatically opened and a black limousine drove up the driveway. The driver, wearing a black uniform, got out of the car and walked to the other side of the car before opening the door and bowing deeply. A middle-aged man got out of the car and all the lined up workers bowed deeply as the man walked up the pathway to the entrance of the mansion.

Tomomi couldn’t help but to sneer at the sights. She hated how her father asserts his authority. Why does he need to have the workers line up to greet him? They have far more important things to do other than that. Tomomi continued to watch as the workers one by one disappeared back inside the mansion again. However, one particular person caught her attention. Her personal butler. Tomomi watched as a brown-haired butler walked up to the driver and kindly took the suitcase her father brought in his overseas business trip. The two engaged in a short conversation and the butler smiled and gave a small bow before walking away.

“Aamin. . .” Tomomi mumbled to herself as she watched her personal butler walk inside the mansion. Maeda Aamin has been her personal butler for over a year now.  Tomomi still keeps the habit of keeping to herself but for some reason, her butler has always been able to read her openly. It’s not that surprising, considering that they spend almost every waking moment together, in the mansion, outside and even in school. The only times they are apart for more than a couple of minutes are when her father would make Aamin do something business related. But what surprised Tomomi was how she easily let Aamin in. Normally, she doesn’t associate herself with others other than her few friends from school but Aamin was able to break down her wall so easily and fast.

There was a knock on her door and Tomomi let out another sigh before answering. “Come in.”

The door opened a maid entered her room. The maid bowed before speaking, “Tomomi ojou-sama, dinner is served. Your father is requesting your presence.”

Tomomi frowned, not in the mood to see her father. “I don’t want to eat. Tell him I’m asleep.”

“But ojou-sama,” The maid protested with a frown of her own. “You didn’t eat lunch either earlier.”

“I’m not hungry, really.” Tomomi stated. “I’ll go down myself if I want something to eat later.”

The maid just looked at Tomomi in worry for a moment before accepting defeat, knowing that she can’t change Tomomi’s mind. She bowed again before exiting the room. An idea struck her on her way down the stairs and she smiled. She can’t change her ojou-sama’s mind but there was one person who surely can.

-

Several minutes after the maid left, another set of knocking descended on Tomomi’s door. She looked up from her position on the bed for a second before letting her head drop on the pillow again, deciding to ignore it.

Knock. Knock.“Tomomi ojou-sama? It’s me, Aamin.”

“Aamin?” Tomomi sat up and looked at the door. “Come in.”

The door opened and Aamin stepped in, a tray in her hands. “Tomomi ojou-sama.” Aamin greeted with a smile and a light bow before walking towards the bed.

Tomomi watched as Aamin pulled up a chair and settled the tray on the desk beside her bed. Tomomi looked at what was on the tray, dinner. “I already told the maid earlier that I’m not hungry.”

“I told the master that you’re not feeling well and thus, you cannot go down to see him.” Aamin answered instead, knowing that the only reason Tomomi doesn’t want to go down to eat dinner is because she doesn’t want to talk to her father.

“I also heard from one of the maids that you didn’t eat lunch today. It’s bad for you to skip meals. You know that, right, ojou-sama?” Aamin continued with a disapproving look as she placed the tray on Tomomi’s lap.

“So you were gossiping with the maids about me?” Tomomi asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I always ask the maids about Tomomi-sama’s day when I’m not around.” Aamin answered smoothly with a smile.

Tomomi blushed, both at the honest answer and at what Aamin called her. She liked it more when Aamin would just call her by her name without attaching ‘ojou’. The title made her feel like her father and she really doesn’t want that kind of feeling. Still, Tomomi can’t help but to feel happy and flattered at the concern.  Something she only feels from Aamin and some of her maids.

“Fine.” Tomomi grumbled under her breath before she picked up the utensils and started eating and Aamin just watched her quietly.

A few minutes into eating, Tomomi looked questioningly at Aamin. “What were you doing all day?” She asked. “You weren’t around when I woke up. When I ask the maid who woke me up she said you’ve been in the office since morning.”

Aamin bowed her head apologetically. “I’m sorry for not telling you, Tomomi-sama. The master asked me to work on some of the business transactions. Did you need me for something?”

Tomomi shook her head but Aamin just continued staring at her. Tomomi blushed at the stare. “W-What’s your problem?” She asked bashfully.

“Nothing at all, Tomomi-sama.” Aamin answered, a smile playing on her lips.

Tomomi’s eyebrow twitched as she went back to eating. She tried to ignore her butler but she can still see the amused smile in her peripheral vision. She gripped her utensils tighter but it continued to gnaw on her mind. Finally having enough, Tomomi noisily dropped the utensils and faced her butler.

“It just bothered me that you weren’t there when I woke up, okay?” Tomomi said in resignation, having known the reason why Aamin was smiling like that. Aamin stayed silent and Tomomi looked away and sighed to herself as she pushed away the tray, thinking to herself that she must have said something to Aamin.

The utensils on the tray rattled as it was moved away and Tomomi waited for the sound of the door as a sign that Aamin has left but nothing came. Instead, Tomomi felt her hand being held. She looked to the side and saw Aamin, kneeling on one knee, holding Tomomi’s hand in hers.

“A-Aamin?”

“If that’s the case, I’ll make sure to be always here when Tomomi-sama wakes up.” Aamin said with all sincerity before pressing her lips on the top of Tomomi’s hand.

Tomomi blushed.

“I-Idiot. . .”

She muttered under her breath, throwing a harmless insult to her now brightly smiling butler even as her hand closed around Aamin’s.

You wouldn't know, but my insides are squealing. This was just lovely, and cute on all sorts of levels.

Great take on the Danso scene (I hope you will consider doing more of them?).

Thank you for sharing this gem with us, I definitely look forward to more of your work =D
