Part 25 The ace missed two days of practice, locking herself in her bedroom. Ever since that incident, not once did she step out. Flashback of happy memories with Takamina got the best of her at the moment. All she does is cry and cry on her bed, hoping that the pain will go away. The members would try and call her but she wouldn’t respond to anyone. Her mother was really concerned. “Acchan, please come out. You haven’t eaten or drunken anything for the last two days. If you keep this up, you’ll get sick.” her mother tried coaxing her from the other side of the door. Still there was no response from the ace. Her father was also very worried, although he knew it was probably his fault. In the dining room her parents were having a discussion. “Maybe we should just let them be.” Acchan’s mother proposed. “Are you crazy? Two girls shouldn’t be together. That’s just absurd! ” “But they are in love… do you think we have any right to stop them?” “I don’t care! It just isn’t right.” “Doesn’t it kind of remind you of a certain someone?” “What do you mean? ...” her father asked with a confuse look. “Remember when we were young?” “Go on, I’m listening.” “My parents didn’t want us to be together because they thought you we’re a play boy.” She chuckles. “It took some time, but once they got to know the real you…they finally accepted us.” she smirks, nudging at her husband arm. “Yeah, but that’s a different story!” “How is it any different? Love is love...you can’t help who you fall in love with right?” Acchan’s father was left speechless. Finally he didn’t have any remarks to counter with. “Don’t you want our daughter to be happy like us?” she added “Of course I do. Seeing the way she is right now, her happiness is all that matters.” “Okay then, just let them be.” “Souka, I guess you’re right. Now I fully understand.” he agreed while sighing. “Now, go and talk to your daughter.” She shoves him towards the stairs.
Although her father was not the type to admit he’s wrong, for the sake of his daughter happiness, he gathered up the courage to go and talk to her. As he reaches her bedroom door, he hesitates to knock, so he sat himself beside Acchan’s door. “Acchan, please listen to me. I have something really important to tell you.” The ace heard her father’s voice but decides to ignore it and kept weeping. “It’s about Takahashi-san.” As soon as she heard that name, her attention was all there.” She didn’t know why she even wanted to listen about the person who broke her heart but she listened anyway. “I know about you two.” Her eyes inflated in shock. “How does he know?” she thought. “And there’s something else.” He sighs. “The truth is...I wasn’t happy about it at all so the day you left the house first, I threatened her to stay away from you. I even said things I shouldn’t have that hurt her.” “WHAT THE F*CK!” was all that she can think of saying right now but she didn’t. Finally she slammed the door open, her anger took over her sadness in seconds. “You have no right to do that!” She yelled furiously at her father. “You’re right, I don’t… and for that I’m really sorry. Believe me I want to take back everything I said to her.” “Don’t you think it’s a little too late for a sorry? She broke my heart because of you!!! Now I know what driven her to do what she did.” “Acchan, please... forgive me!” he held onto her arm. “I’ll deal with you later but now I have to go find her.” She pushes her father’s arm off and ran. “I’m proud of you." A voice said from a distance. "I’m sure someday she will forgive you, after all you did gave her life.” The aces mother said to her husband. He didn’t reply but just gave a half smile.
The ace ran into practice. “Tomochin! Where’s Minami?!” “I don’t know. She hasn’t been here for two days.” “Oh, okay then. I will go look for her, please call me if you hear from her.” Just when the ace was about to run off again, Tomochin pulls her back. ”Wait! Acchan, I’m sorry about happened two days ago. If it makes you feel any better, the kiss meant nothing at all to me.” She smiles facing Kasai and giving off a blush. “Don’t worry, I understand.” She smiles back at Tomochin. “But don’t forget, the kiss is only a onetime thing.” Acchan winks at her. “Miichan! Do you know where Minami is?” “I haven’t seen her, maybe she’s at home?” “Right!” the ace replies and ran off again. Finally she arrived at Takamina’s house. She knocked on the door several times and her mom answered. “Ohayo Maeda-san, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at practice with Minami for the big concert tomorrow?” “Minami’s not home?” “No..I thought she was at work with you.” “Oh..yeah, that’s right she is.” She lied. So that Takamina’s mother wouldn’t have to worry. Acchan quickly pulls out her cell phone and dialed Haruna. “Nyan Nyan, I can’t find Minami anywhere. You’re her best friend; do you have any idea where she would be?” “Did you check everywhere yet?” “No, not yet but I will.” “Well I’d say go where you think she’ll be when she’s upset or angry.” “Okay, thanks for the tip.” Acchan hangs up and rushed to look everywhere. Even at the ice cream shop where Acchan first apologized to Minami, and at the park bench where they first met. Just everywhere she thought she would be. From going to variety of places, Acchan stops to pant. It's beginning to get frustrating for her. When she called Takamina's cell phone, it was also out of range."Where could she be?" a tear drop falls from her eyes. But then it hit her..
*“Well I’d say go where you think she’ll be when she’s upset or angry.”* What Haruna had said earlier resounded in her head.
