u should tell me before your moving
sigh
how the ppl of this forum like this?
very impolite!
Cassandra, you're being a little presumptuous, as well as a little over-sensitive here. I saw the original posts earlier this afternoon before they were moved.
shirenu was not being malicious to you when she made those suggestions on where you could post or what type of posts you could make. You probably just misinterpreted the meaning of what she was trying to say. The only thing that she told you basically was that this is a forum for discussion, and not one for the blatant advertising of personal websites. I'm sure that your site is very nice and is very well composed, however, as a general rule you must understand that unless you're running one of the "sister sites" of JPH!P, it's generally frowned upon here when people make posts saying "visit my site". When the people responded to your post, they were NOT attacking your site nor attacking you personally. They were just informing you of the types of posts that are and, consequently, are not permitted here. Now if you wish to put a link to your site in your signature, that's okay.

Cassandra, try and reverse the roles. Is there an area on your website where visitors can make comments or posts? If there is, what if a total stranger came to YOUR site and started making posts saying to "come visit THIS site" (whatever it is). You'd find that a little bothersome, wouldn't you? Of course you would. It's just human nature. Now how would you react if you found a post like that on your site? Would you immediately ban the person or make a reply post cursing and swearing at them? Of course not, that wouldn't be civil. None of that happened here in response to your initial post. If it happened to you, you'd do the sensible thing and just simply inform the person/people that you don't wish to have those types of posts on your site. That's all that was done here when replies were made to your post. No one called for you to be banned. No one made posts swearing at you.
The people here have actually been very polite to you in that they have taken the time to try and inform you of the misstep that you made. There are other forums (which shall remain nameless) where if you had made that same post advertising your site, you would have been instantly banned from the forum with NO explanation whatsoever. At least HERE you're being given a chance to talk about the incident in an effort to try and work it out. I suggest you take that opportunity. Talk with the mods over PM and work it out for the best of everyone. If you're not sure who to contact, they're listed in the following link:
