@all readers (silent or not) : Minna!! thank you for reading my first story! Actually, I was planning of making this a one-short, but when I start writing the prologue yesterday, I feel like this story is going to be quite long for a OS
. Maybe it'll turn out into a short story, or a long one, I still don't know yet. I hope you guys fine this story interesting enough to fill your spare time.

A Royal's 'Secret' Mission
Chapter 1 - Part 1“Cuckoo.. Wake up you sleepy head!! Cuckoo.. Wake up you sleepy head!!”
A robotic sound that comes from a digital alarm clock wakes a girl up from her sleep. Woke up in a shocking state, she feels her head ache. Still trying to calm herself from the shocking state, and also a painful headache, she blinks her eyes few times while pressing her fingers on her forehead.
“Cuckoo.. Wake up you sleepy head!! Cuckoo.. Wake up…”
Suddenly the robotic sound echoes again, and before it even manage to finish, the girl has already grab the digital clock. She turns it off and throws it to the wall across her while mumbling, “stupid alarm clock! Always disturb my dream!”
The clock hit the wall and falls onto the floor in broken pieces. “Ugh! Now who’s stupid? I have to buy a new clock again, damn it!” The girl sighs and curses herself.
She wakes up and starts collecting the broken pieces of clock before throwing them into a small dustbin. Then she fixes the futon and blanket and put them inside a wardrobe. She walks to the bathroom to wash herself up. After finish washing up, she starts changing into her school uniform and fixes her hair and her face. She decides to let her hair loose, revealing black, straight hair falling onto her chest. She puts on cherry chapstick lipbum onto her lips before pursing her lips. She smiles while watching the reflection on the mirror before walking out from the place. She starts walking towards the school. After a few seconds, she sighs.
“I really don’t want to go to school.”

The girl’s POVI manage to arrive to school, after hesitating for many times. I don’t know why I keep coming to this school. I really hate school! In fact, I really hate my school life! I never have even a single happy moment in my life related to school. I finally arrive in front of my classroom, and I sigh. I pull the door, watching every member in the classroom. No one realize or care of my existence, and not that I care either. I walk to my desk, which is located at the end, far back of the class. I pull my chair and sit down.
I can see from the corner of my eye that in one corner of the room, there are three girls whispering to themselves while their eyes keep watching me from far. I pay no attention to them and keep looking out the window. Nothing seems interesting to me. There is not even a single bird flying in the sky. The sky is dark with clouds all over. It’s going to rain soon, I think.
The three girls walk their way towards me with a smirk on their faces. They stand beside me, and start calling me in a very rude way.
“Hey, commoner! Why do you keep coming to school, huh? Don’t you realize yet that there’s no one care about you! No one wants to see you here!” said a girl standing in the center. She is the leader of all three. She smirks.
“Yeah, Umechan is right! You’re nothing but a trash! You, low life scum!” Now, the one standing to the right of the leader voices out. She points out her index finger and pushes my head with it. I am still keeping my innocent face, not even care of anything they say.
“Shh, don’t be too rough Akane. You will ruin your own image.” The girl on the left says to the one who pushed my head just now. The girl name Akane just ‘hmph’ and crossing her arms to her chest. Then she turns her head towards Umechan, their leader.
“Nee, Umechan, what should we do? She doesn’t seem to be listening to us.”
“Huh! Rikki, grab her!” Umemoto Madoka orders to the girl on her left, Hirata Rikako. The said girl, Rikki, grabs my collar, pulls me to the back of the class, and pushes me hard to the wall behind me. I hiss to the feeling of pain on my back. I glance at Rikki who’s still grabbing the collar of my shirt, before staring at the other two who are walking towards me.
Everyone in the classroom becomes silent before they start to make a noise again, wooing, booing, and supporting whatever that the three girls in front of me trying to do. The three girls smirk while staring intensely at me. Not trying to lose, I stare fiercely to each of them, switching from one to another, simultaneously before landing my eyes on the leader. I open my mouth, starting to voicing out my voice.
“WHAT ARE YOU..”
PANGGG!!! Before I even finish my sentence, I feel pain on my right cheek. My head is now turned to the left, due to receiving a slap from Umemoto. I press my lips, and clench my fists before turning back to her. I glare at her eyes with anger, raging in my heart. I can see that everyone is cheering while some are laughing to the incident.
“DO. NOT. EVER. DARE. SHOUT. TO. ME!!” Umemoto shouts near my face.
My left ear hurts with her shouting. I can still feel the pain on my back, and on my right cheek. I’m sure that they’re going to be bruised later on. They were hard, you know?
With the incident happened, and everyone shouting and cheering, wooing and booing, no one realize a girl comes into the classroom. Not even the ones bullying, and being bullied.
“Listen, Matsui Jurina! Never ever show your face to this class! Again! Do you understand me?!” Umemoto is shouting again. This time I’m sure that even the neighboring classes can hear her words clearly.
I clench my teeth before looking down, staring at my feet. Both my hands grip the hem of my skirt.
“I said, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME, Matsui Jurina?” Akane’s hand grips my hair, and pulls my head up. I sigh, feeling defeated as always, before nodded my head. With that, they push me onto the floor before letting me go. They turn and walk away from me.
Slowly, I stand up and walk back to my seat to grab my school bag on my desk. I walk outside from the classroom, and head towards the rooftop. For me, that’s the only place where I can find peace. I keep walking, hoping that no one will disturb my life anymore. When I reach the rooftop, I lie myself down on a bench. Right when I was about to close my eyes, suddenly rain start to pour down. At first, it is just a few drops, then it becomes raining cats and dogs.
“Kami-sama, you really do understand my feelings, don’t you?” I start sobbing, alongside with the rain, wetting my face, my hair, my cloth, all over me. After a minute of sobbing, and no sign of stopping, I feel like there’s no more water drop on my head. I thought that the rain has stop, but there’s still the sound of rain, dropping heavily onto the ground. I stop sobbing, and wipe the wetness on my face. I open my eyes and look up, just to see that someone is holding an umbrella over my head, covering me from the rain.
“There you are! I finally found you, Jurina-chan!”
“Anna-chan…” I whisper slowly while looking at her. Ishida Anna, she’s the only friend I have in my life. The only friend I have since I lost both of my parents.
My parents died in an accident when I was seven. It happened on a heavy rainy day, just like right now. My mother had always been sick, and my dad had always been driving her to the hospital. Unfortunately, one day they got into an accident while on their way to the hospital. Or so, at that time I believed that they got into accident.
After their funeral, Anna’s family has been taking care of me. However, being me who never likes being taken care of especially out of feelings of sympathy or pity, I start living on my own. I live in an old, small, empty house that looks like a store or something which is owned by Anna’s father (that’s also after arguing a bit with Mr. Ishida. He feels like he has to take care of me since I’m still a kid to him, though many people said that I look older than my age).
Still, every single utility in the house is paid by Mr. Ishida. I am very reluctant to that, and so I argued again with him and made an agreement. I have to work with him, until I reach legal age, or until I can really, really, he mean, REALLY, take care of my own self. Or at least, marry a rich man, or a prince, or king or any country (which I know it will never happen in my life).
Until now, I never like every time when it’s raining. I despise rain! Nothing better has ever happened to me when it’s raining. Somehow, I think that I’m just like the rain, dark and gloomy.
Recently, I start thinking that probably my parents did not get into accident, but someone has actually killed them. I don’t know who or what, and I don’t know how they killed my parents, and I don’t even know whether my theory is true or not. But I believe that my instinct is right. And I realized that lately, I feel like someone or something has been following me, but since nothing has happened so far, I just thought that maybe I was just over thinking. Yeah, over think, probably.
“Jurina-chan.. Jurina-chan! JURINA-CHAN!!”
“Aww..! Ittaiii! Anna-chan, it hurts..!” I rub my left cheek which Anna pinched just now. It hurts though. Aww, is my body going to be hurt today? Just now, it was my back, my right cheek, my head, and now my left cheek too? Next, where else is going to be hurt?
“Mou, Jurina-chan.. I’ve called your names many times, but you didn’t hear me at all. I’m sorry, Jurina-chan. I didn’t mean to hurt you. Did it hurt so much?”
I nod my head slowly while rubbing my cheek. I pout, and sigh.
“Aaa, gomen, Jurina-chan.. Let me help you heal it.” Anna suddenly bends her body towards me, and kiss right on my cheek. “There, is it fine now? Will you forgive me now?” She asks while making the puppy-look face. I don’t know how to describe it, but it just looks so cute! I couldn’t resist myself from kissing her forehead, and smile to reassure the girl. I pat her head and said,
“It’s nothing much, really. I was just teasing you, you know? Hehe..” I chuckle a bit while looking at her. She’s forming a smile on her cute lip with a smile saying ‘I know’.
“Nee, Jurina-chan. Let’s go to the infirmary. I think it’s better if you get a check-up from just now.” Anna is now sitting beside me on the same bench. I just shook my head and looking downwards again.
“Please, Jurina-chan. You know that I care about you, don’t you? Forget whatever they said. I’m your friend. I will always be your friend. I will always love you, and care for you.” Anna puts one of her hand on my shoulder.
“It’s not about that, Anna-chan. I think what they said is true. I’m nothing but a trash in this school. No one has ever cared about me, no one has ever tried to befriend with me. Except for you, of course, but you have been my friend since we were kids.”
I clench my fists again. I am trying so hard to resist myself from crying again. I don’t want to look so weak, especially in front of Anna.
“Who cares? Does it really matter? You are not no one! You are the number one student in this school! Remember? You have always been at the top, getting top scores in every subject.”
I pout more when hearing what Anna says. “Yeah, I’m just a geek, the nerd no one cares..” I mumble to myself, but it seems that Anna still manage to hear what I said. She turns my face towards her and presses both her palms on my cheeks, made me looks like a fish. She stares into my eyes, straight into my heart.
“Like I said, who cares? And in fact, you still have me, Jurina-chan. You will never be alone! I will always be by your side. Forever! Please, Jurina-chan, don’t say things like this again. It hurts me seeing you like this.”
I look into Anna’s eyes. I can see the love and the care that she has for me. Finally, I ease up, and I try to smile, but stop when realize that both Anna’s hands are still pressing my cheeks.
“Anna-chan..”
“Yes, Jurina-chan?” she looks at me with curiosity, and tilted her head to her side.
“How long are you going to press my cheeks?” I ask her slowly, but in a very difficult way. I’m not even sure whether she could understand what I’m saying or not. Really, it’s hard to speak when your cheeks are being pressed and your mouth looks like the mouth of a fish, or to be exact, I look like the character Dory in ‘Finding Nemo’ cartoon right now..
“Until you make a promise to me. Promise me that you won’t say things like this again, okay?”
I nod my head (well actually, it was Anna’s hands that move my head up and down) before trying to make a smile again. Anna let her hands go, and laugh. I frown before asking to her,
“Why are you laughing so suddenly?”
“You should look at your face just now, it was so priceless, Jurina-chan! Hahaha!” Anna continues her laughing while I keep pouting.
“Haha, Jurina-chan is so cute!” Anna pokes my cheek.
“Yeah, I know that. I am always cute.” I pull out my tongue at her, and stand up. I start running towards the door and leaving Anna clueless with my action.
“Hey, where are you going??” Anna asks, while blinking her eyes.
“To the infirmary. Where else? Are you coming with me?”
Anna smiles and starts picking up her things and also her umbrella before following Jurina.
“But we have to dry ourselves and change our uniforms first!”
