Chapter 1
The morning sun had rise high into the clear sky. Everything was nice and quiet in the house, especially for the princess who was sleeping peacefully under her blanket, until, “Rise and shine!” The door burst open revealing a young girl in her mid teens; she had a bright and yet mischievous smile as she ran to the bed, and tackled the person who was sleeping peacefully.
“Oh my god!” The female jolted up into a sitting position and shoved the person off the bed, leading to a loud thumb from the other.
“Itaiiii -- ” The girl on the floor cried, she slowly sat up while rubbing the back of her head with one eye closed. “That hurt, Rena-chan. What was that for?”
“Jurina what was that for!?” Rena snapped, avoiding the question, she picked up her pillow and threw it at Jurina’s face as it hit on target. Rena wasn’t pleased by the fact of waking up with someone in her room. Actually, no, she wasn’t pleased about being tackled awake and gained a heart attack in the process. “How did you even get in?”
Jurina cried in pain again when the pillow hit her face. She felt like her head was about to break off when it hit. After a few seconds of rubbing her head and neck, she jump to her feet and gave a wide grin while she looked at Rena. “Yuko-san allowed me in before she left, that’s how.”
“Not that!” Rena gave a low growl, “How did you get into my room? It was lock!”
Currently, Oshima, Yuko and Matsui, Rena is now living together in an apartment. Before, they were both neighbors since Rena was five years old, but Rena never talked to Yuko until she was eleven while Yuko was fourteen. Rena doesn’t full recall how she met Yuko. When she asked her Yuko replied that she caught Rena, on her way home, fighting against some children, around Rena’s age, in the park and was surrounded by them. As Yuko didn’t hesitate and jumped in right in and partnered up with her. After the children fled they both started to head home. When they got back to their rightful house, they suddenly realized that they were next door neighbors. Surprise from the new discovery they began talking to each other the next day, when they were walking to school, sharing many things among each other they quickly became best friend.
After Rena’s graduation, two years ago, they promise to never fight again and become serious in their future. With Rena being accepted into a university she always dreamed to go to, Yuko didn’t want Rena to lose that chance just because her reputation of beating people up. Soon after Rena being accepted into the university, Yuko and Rena moved out of their childhood home and lived in an apartment together. They decided to live with each other since Yuko’s part time job and the college she attended was near Rena’s university. And she believed it would be more convenient, and cheap, if they both lived together. Rena agrees with Yuko’s idea as they now both decided to live together. Within those two years a new person came into their life and that was Matsui, Jurina.
When Yuko and Rena moved into their new apartment they had a next door neighbor that had the same surname as Rena’s. It was a surprise to Rena to meet another family that had the same surname as her, but what was more surprising is that Jurina’s parents were very kind than Rena anticipated. On the first day Jurina’s mother invited Rena and Yuko to come over for a dinner. Rena and Yuko disagree feeling rude to intrude on the first day, but when Jurina gave them the puppy eyes to them they couldn’t say no afterwards. From that day forth to this current year Jurina carried a strong bond with Yuko and Rena, and every so often she would come over to their place or vice versa, as points back to Jurina currently being inside their apartment.
Jurina closed her right eye and stared off thinking what to say. She pursed, innocently thinking, before she answered. “I pick lock your door. ~” Instantly, Jurina felt another unexpected pillow smacked against her face, with a loud thump, as it almost sends her off her feet. She pulled the pillow off her face, this time she gave an annoyed expression. “Hey! What was tha – WHOA!” Her eyes widen as she ducks from another object that was being thrown at her.
“Get out now!” Rena yelled and grabbed the closes objects that was close to her, and threw them at Jurina. Jurina dodged the rest easily and scurried out of the room, closing the door behind her as she left. Rena gave a heavy sigh when Jurina left and groaned, laying back down on her bed with an arm lift over her eyes.
“You’re going to be late to class ~ !” Jurina yelled in a teasing voice from the other side of the door.
“No I’m -...” When Rena looked at the clock, on the wall, her eyes widen, immediately she jumped off the bed, and rushed to get out of her room. She opens the door to see Jurina with a devious smirk on her face. Rena furrows her brow at her giving a glare. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” She demanded.
“You never gave me the chance. ~” She backfired.
“I can’t believe you.” Rena scoffed; she walked out of her room, passed Jurina, and rushed towards the bathroom.
“Yuko-san left some clothes for you in the bathroom!” Jurina called out and only received a small wave from the other female as her response. Jurina watched as Rena went into the bathroom as the door slammed shut. She shrugged her shoulders and slowly shook her head with a smile. “Hopefully she gets the chance to eat breakfast.” Then she made her way into the kitchen seeing a bento box, neatly wrapped in a white furoshik, on the table. The food inside the bento box was made by Jurina, with her mother’s help, as she hope Rena would appreciate the food.
When Yuko saw Jurina with the lunch box in her hands she already knew the lunch box was going to be for Rena. Actually, Yuko suggested Jurina to make a lunch box for Rena. Yuko already knew that Jurina had a crush on Rena after several months when Yuko and Rena moved in. Jurina denied the fact at first, but after a while she started to admit it as then Yuko try to help Jurina as much as she can. It’s been a year and a half as Rena still hasn’t noticed Jurina’s feeling yet. Yuko and Jurina tried so many tactics in the past months, and everything ended in a failure, there was nothing that actually made Rena notice Jurina’s feelings.
Jurina was disappointed after all the failures; however, it didn’t stop her from trying to capture Rena’s heart. At first, she suggest to Yuko if it was best to confront her feeling straight out instead, but Yuko insisted that Rena must have feelings for Jurina first before anything else.
Honestly, Jurina doesn’t know if she is able to capture Rena’s heart. She knew that Rena only see her as a little sister and nothing else. She also felt that there was something in Rena’s heart that is kept Jurina’s feeling being unnoticed. Then again, maybe she was just imagining it.
Jurina gave a small sigh at the thought. She walked over to the refrigerator, took the black board marker on their miniature magnetic calendar, pulled the cap off, and wrote on an empty sticky note that was stick on the fridge, before she peeled it off and stick it on the table. “Hopefully Yuko-san is right… I feel bad for Rena-chan waking up late though.” She muttered and scratched the back of her head. “The life of a twenty year old… I wonder how that feels…” She wonders to herself as a small chuckle escape her lips. She then excused herself out of the apartment and goes back into her own.
Today current event of Rena waking up late was planned by Yuko. Last night, Yuko sneaked into Rena’s room, with the help of Jurina’s pick locking skills, and turned off Rena’s alarm clock. Believing if Rena was to wake up late she would have to eat lunch, and not skip it like she always does.
“Why didn’t my alarm rang?” Rena asked herself in irritation as she came out of the bathroom, she was fully dressed in short jeans, with a black belt around, white t-shirt, the neck ring manually cut, and a long peach colored cardigan, that reached down to her knees and wrists. “Ugh. Not the time to wonder.” She rushed back into her room, grabbed all her necessary materials for her morning class, rushed back out, and made her way into the kitchen as she notice the bento box on the table. She blinked several times and peeled the sticky note off the table reading it.
‘I’m sorry Rena-chan. Please forgive me? (´;ω;`) I made it just for you so please it eat. ♥ Juri ’
“That girl…” Rena muttered under her breath. She gave a small smile, forgetting her irriation. “If she wanted to give it to me she should have done it straight out.” She stared at the sticky note for a moment until she remembers she had class to attend. She checks her cell phone time and realized it has become eight. “Ah! I only have fifteen minutes left!” She packed the bento box into her bag, neatly and compact so that the content inside wouldn’t get ruined, before she slipped on her boots and left her apartment.
It took Rena ten minutes to run from home to campus, normally, it would take her twenty minutes to reach campus, but today isn’t the day she could have taken her time. And now only five minutes remaining and her class were on the other side of campus. “Why does it have to be so far?” She complained. She breathed in and out slowly trying to catch her breath. Then she inhaled before she continued to run again.
By the time she got into the building of her class it was already too late, but she jogged down the hall so she wouldn’t be late anymore as she already was. Then out of the blue someone popped out of the corner, Rena didn’t have to stop herself as she crashed into the person.
“WAH!” They both exclaimed as papers fluttered everywhere.
To be continued.
