Chapter 10 - Falling
1 month later ~
Takamina had been hospitalised for a month now and both Mii chan and Kojiharu had been visiting her every time they had a break. There had been no signs of the mysterious woman who entered Takamina’s room but she was still scared, scared something might happen to her family. On the other hand, things were still a bit hectic at home but the there was one girl who had bigger things in her mind than the broken house.
Yes, Yuko only had her Nyan Nyan in her head.
The short squirrel sat on her bed and contemplated about her behavior towards Riku. Her bodyguard was still doing his job, taking her to rehearsals and places but nothing had changed between them. If you had to put it, it might’ve gotten worst. She had heard from Kuu that Riku had confessed to his sister and it didn’t quite work out well. She knew it wasn’t right, but she was happy, happy that now at least she stood a chance.
“Ahh!!!!” Yuko screamed into her pillow. All this thinking was stressing her out.
“What’s the matter Yuko?” Mariko closed the door behind her and sat next to her sister’s bed.”You look a bit distraught.”
“I am.” Came a short simple answer.
A smile brought itself upon the tall model’s face and she placed her hand over her sister’s head. “Frustrated?”
“Yes..”
“Sexually frustrated?”
“Very…Huh? NO!” Yuko jumped up from her covers and looked shocked into her sister’s eyes. How can she say something so bluntly.
Mariko smirked and quirked an eyebrow. “You’re not.”
A blush descended upon the questioned girl’s cheeks and she covered her face with her hands hoping to erase the reddening blush.
“Maybe…but that’s not the point….. I just realized that Riku and I are kinda impossible.”
“What do you mean?”
“He doesn’t even hold any interest for me.” Yuko punched her pillow.
Her older sister sighed. “The Yuko, I know never gives up, how can you give up so easily?”
Yuko turned to her sister and produced a louder sigh. She opened her mouth to start talking when the knock on the door took her attention.
“Come in.” Mariko said.
“Ah, Yuko.”
Taking this as a sigh to leave the room, well her room, Mariko left after giving Yuko a haste wink. Slowly, Kojiharu made her away next to Yuko and held out a bottle of pills. “You can’t get to sleep?”
Yuko’s eyes widen and she snatched her bottle from her bodyguard. For countless nights, she couldn’t sleep, everytime she closed her eyes the image of Riku walking out on her appeared and that was something that killed her. But she had surely placed her sleeping pills in her handbag….
“You looked through my bag?”
“Yes.” A short answer and a slight nod with no remorse whatsoever.
“Riku~, How could you….Mou.” As much as Yuko hated people disrespecting her privacy, there was no way she could get angry at her adorable, air headed crush.
“Yuko, if you can’t sleep. You can always talk to me.” Kojiharu smiled which was returned by Yuko’s.
“Okay, bye.” With that Kojiharu stood up and was prepared to leave when Yuko grabbed her by her coat.
“Wait! Was that it! Was that all you had to say when you came in?”
Kojiharu nodded.
“Fine! I can’t sleep. Please talk to me.” Yuko exclaimed. Riku was just too air headed and blunt. Didn’t he understand that she wanted to spend time with him and do stuff with him.
“Okay…so what’s keeping you awake at night?” Kojiharu first asked as she settled back in the same position. “Hungry?”
“NO!” Yuko closed her eyes rubbed her forehead.
“Then, what is it.” Yuko opened her eyes slowly and looked into her lover’s eyes. They were so sincere and so caring right now.
“I-I-I love you.”
“I know.”
“….”
“….”
“What!” Yuko screamed. “How can you be so carefree. That was a confession! My FIRST Confession!!!!! Girls don’t what to hear “I know” and then silence. Riku!”
Kojiharu sighed. She was a girl too, and she knew all this. She knew how hard an unrequited love is because not long ago she was deeply engaged in one all her life.
“Yuko…I” I don’t know if I love you….isn’t that sounding a bit harsh…”Yuko...I..Why don’t you make me fall in love with you?” Riku smiled and cupped Yuko’s cheeks, tears flowed down grazing his hands.
“You’re giving me a chance?”
Kojipa nodded and with that Yuko tackled her onto her bed and kissed her.
“WAAAIIITTT!!!!!”
(Will I see you tomorrow?) “Okay. This is very very,
very interesting!!!” The short midget exclaimed as she raised her hands up in the air trying to imply how interesting it will be.
Acchan who was busy peeling an apple for the injured girl simply nodded. She had no interest whatsoever with the smaller’s girls stories because each time she visited, one would be told and it was boring to the point that she could fall asleep any second.
But despite that….I like listening to her. “Okay, so I was walking out of the convenience store one day and I saw a cat. So I went and bought a can of cat food for him. I did a good thing right?” The midget laughed cutely and smiled at Acchan who returned the smile.
Takamina continued. “Then I was about to leave but before walking too far I turned back around to see the cat. That was when I also saw an old lady who was walking her dog. The dog went up to the cat and…ate the food.”
….
Moments of silence, until Acchan realized that the midget was finished with her supposedly interesting story. She inwardly sighed at the failed story told and continued peeling the apple, however she could feel Takamina’s intent stare.
The leader watched Acchan’s expression and waited for her to look back at her. Finally, the actress did and a bored expression adorned her pretty face. “What bit was interesting?” She deadpanned.
“That bit where the dog ate the food!”
Acchan sighed. “You’ve told me so many stories and none of them are even a bit funny. You fail.”
Takamina pouted causing Acchan to chuckle. The taller girl ruffled the older girl’s hair and gave her another smile. “But that’s what I like about you.”
“..Ahhh..” Takamina averted her gaze from Acchan to the bed and a small pink blush appeared on her cheeks. “You’re joking…I mean, you’ve always hated me” The midget mumbled unconsciously.
The actress, confused, shook her head as she raised the fork and offered Takamina an apple. “Say Ahhh…”
“I-I can do something like this myself…”
But despite Takamina’s retort, Acchan’s arms were still outstretched with the apple right outside Takamina’s closed lips. Sighing, the midget opened her mouth and complied.
“I-I don’t hate you. I’m not really good at showing my feelings…so if I did something that would make you th-“
Takamina raised her hands and grabbed Acchan’s shoulders. “Y-You did nothing. I-I just ….Thank you.” Another smiled reached the actress’s lips and Takamina couldn’t help but subtly stare at the beautiful figure in front of her….Soon she would have to return to Kai, and when that time comes this smile would disappear from her world.
Realising that Takamina smiled sadly as she looked out the window.
“I’ll miss you Acchan.”
“Huh?”
“I’m actually returning back home tomorrow.”
Silence filled the hospital room and no one moved. Takamina felt guilty for not telling her friend earlier but she just couldn’t say it all this time. Despite returning as Kai, she couldn’t help but feel different when she, as her real self was with Acchan. During the time she had been hospitalized, Acchan had come to visit her nearly every single day. And she would ask herself why Acchan would want to visit her, every single time. Kai was Takamina and Takamina was Kai, so why did Acchan want to visit Takamina when she despised Kai. It was then during one of the visits that she finally knew why the actress wanted to visit her. She had concluded that it was because she kind of saved the actress’s life. It was just the right thing to do, to pay back the act. It was nothing special, Takamina was nothing special to the famous actress, she was sure of that. So, even if the midget told Acchan the news, the day before, the actress wouldn’t care. Actually, she might even be happy to have the burden taken from her.
*Clank*
Takamina turned back to look at Acchan. The fork the actress was holding fell from her hand and Acchan remained frozen.
“H-Haha…that’s a funny joke.”
“Acchan…I’m leaving here, but Kai’s coming back.”
The actress stood up to pick up the fallen fork, her gaze avoiding Takamina’s. She just didn’t know how to react to something so sudden. Didn’t they just become friends? How could Takamina just say she was leaving just like that.
“D-Do you have to go?”
“Yeah…but Kai’s coming bac-“
“I really don’t care about Kai at the moment. I just don’t want you to leave.”
Takamina felt very, very selfish and confused. Despite thinking she meant nothing to the black haired goddess, she never said a thing about the visits. She never told Acchan, that she didn’t have to visit her. She never did, because she loved the visits. She was being selfish, but hearing Acchan not wanting her to leave set her into a road of confusion. Was she just being nice?
“A-Accha-“
“How can you be so cruel. You’re leaving tomorrow, not in a month, not in a year, not in a week, but tomorrow.” Acchan’s voice trembled.
Takamina got out of bed and walked up to Acchan who had her back towards the midget. To Takamina right now, it didn’t matter if the actress was acting, because she wanted to be selfish for just a little more. Even if it’s just for a short moment she wanted to be with Acchan, as herself, and not as Kai.
Thinking that, the short girl wrapped her arms around the actress’s back and whispered in her ears. “I’ll come back to see you.”
The actress shivered and pulled herself from the girl’s hug.
Takamina awkwardly smiled and looked Acchan in the eyes. . “Sorry…”
Acchan didn’t reply and instead averted her gaze.
“I know you hate Kai, but I’m sure he just wants to you to smile. So…please forgive him, because I’m sure he’ll become really lonely without your voice.”
The actress sighed. “I don’t hate your brother. He just makes me angry, that’s all.”
“hahaha…and I don’t?” Takamina pointed to herself. This was one of the weirdest conversation she has ever had. Talking about someone else who is actually herself is just plain weird.
“Actually, I get annoyed with you a lot. Like when you told that boring story and how you own a parka with banana patterns on it. I mean you have no sense of fashion, and your stories are boring and you’re stupid. How you fail at everything you do, how you pretend to to be cool…. you’re just so stupid, stupid….Stupid….Bakamina….”
Tears could no longer keep themselves at bay, as they gently cascaded down the actress’s eyes. Despite being an actress and wanting to keep her composure, she couldn’t. Takamina, had become a special friend to her, and it wasn’t because she saved her a few times. It wasn’t because of that. It was because Takamina had such a kind heart. She was sure someone like the midget was someone sent from an angel. But tomorrow…the angel’s gift would be taken back.
“T-Takamina…”
(Will I see you tomorrow?) Takamina, as Kai stood outside Akimoto’s mansion, stalling her time, not wanting to go in, because once she was in, she was Kai, not the Takamina that Acchan liked and talked to, but Kai who had trouble with girls, especially with Acchan. She sighed and stuck her key in the keyhole, rotating it until it was unlocked.
The midget entered the dark apartment, and realized that the lights were off and the dining room was empty. Confused she turned on the lights and just as she did, confetti was thrown into her face. The surprised girl blinked.
A surprise party?
“Welcome Back KAI!!!!” Tomochin yelled as she jumped herself onto the midget. “I’m so glad you’re back. I’m so happy to see you!”
“KKKAAAAIIII~~~~~~” Takamina was flowered with kisses before she even realized who had grabbed her. She sighed inwardly to see Ray’s sparkling face. Ray didn’t even know Kai was gone, so why was she here?
“Welcome back Kai!” The others exclaimed, except for one…well two if you count Takeru but that’s Takeru. So, one, and obviously the one that didn’t greet the midget was the one and only tsundere Acchan. Kai looked at Acchan, who had her arms crossed with her back facing Kai, and sighed.
Things are just the same. Yuko dragged the sighing girl onto the couch and the party began…involving alcohol.

Yuko was already drunk, but she denied it and even announced to play the “King game”. The gang had initially disagreed but as soon as they did, they took back their words as Yuko was flying alcohol bottles everywhere and threatened to take off her Nyan Nyan clothes if anyone objected. Thus the King game began.
The gang drew out popsicle sticks, each with different numbers on it. Mariko looked at her stick and smirked as she brought the stick to everyone’s face claiming that she was King for that round.
“Hahaha. 2 and 3 must kiss.”
The gang hastily looked at their sticks, everyone sighed in relief except two people. Mii chan and Yuko. At once knowing, that Mii chan was involved in this Mariko objected.
“No. No. Mii chan, is not allowed in this round!” She screamed. Mii chan snickered at the protectiveness of her girlfriend.
“I have to kiss Kuuuu, it’s the rules!” Yuko yelled.
“No. NO. Please, I’ll kiss you instead. Kuu cannot kiss you. The world will blow up and everyone will die!!!!”
A sweatdropped appeared on everyone’s head, when was the all great Mariko sama this frantic and panicky.
For Kuu….she can lose her composure like that.
Mariko hated waiting, so she quickly pulled Yuko in and kissed her hard on the lips. Though it only lasted for a second the whole gang was shocked and that doubled when she went in a kissed Kuu, dragging him into the room. The door banged closed.
“Nuuu~ Funnn~~~!!!! Anyone else who does that will be kissed by me…-Yuko licked her lips- ev-er-y-wh-er-e..” The room shuddered and moments later the King game was resumed. Everyone was anxious and scared as Yuko was the next King.
“1 must take off 4’s shirt and plant two kiss marks. One on their neck and the other in the chest area.” Yuko smirked proudly at her order and placed her hands on kojiharu’s thigh. However, unfortunately, she was pushed away. The squirrel pouted and Riku lost it, as she grabbed onto the midget’s hands.
Yuko blushed. Things were going well.
But to 1 and 4, because of their upcoming act, problems would surely arise.
Because,
4 was Acchan
And
1 was Sato Takeru.
Takamina’s eyes widen as she saw the couple blushing. “Wait…” She wanted to reach out and stop them.
This wasn’t right…Acchan on the other hand, felt the midget’s stare and fidgeted uncomfortably, while her blush intensified as Takeru approached her, his hands dangerously near the collar of her shirt.
“WOO!!! HOO!!!! HURRY UP!!!!” Yuko encouraged.
Takeru blushed as Acchan’s bra was in view. He gulped as her neared his mouth to the actress’s neck. The room grew silent.
…
“Ah.” A single whimper from Acchan, as Takeru planted his lips on Acchan’s neck and sucked it gently. “Ahhh…” The moan produced by Acchan, was what set the usually calm leader off.
“THAT’S IT!”
Acchan and Takeru looked towards the direction of the objection. Kai continued. “This is going overboard. We’re too young to be doing these kind of things. Not to mention, that you two aren’t even going out. You guys cannot indulge in these kind of acts. It is unacceptable.” Takamina’s finger which was pointing to them shivered and her eyes glimmered as she looked at Acchan and the mark printed on her neck. She felt
disgusted.
That mark shouldn’t be there.
Acchan, being Acchan got annoyed with Kai’s outburst and grabbed Takeru by the collar. She didn’t know then but later she would regret her decision and outburst, because she kissed him. The actress glared at Kai, and then kissed the oblivious Takeru.
“We are going out, and its none of your business. Kai!”
That mark shouldn’t be there. Takamina swallowed hard. She looked at Acchan once more, her eyes trialing back to the mark, before returning to her room and slamming the door.
She wanted to cry. That was unreasonable, she was just voicing her opinions, she was doing it for Acchan’s sake….Acchan didn’t even like him….
Wait hold on…I don’t know if Acchan likes him….I don’t know about Acchan at all…I just think I do…but I don’t… That mark…maybe she wanted it…
…..Kiss….A knock on the door brought Takamina back to reality.
“Ray?”
2 months later~ Everyone was seated at the dining table and eating their dinner which was prepared by Mariko again. It had been 2 months after the welcome back party held for Kai and for now there was no hectic or abnormal activities happening. By that it meant that there was no life threatening movements…relationships and love was past the safety line.
“So, so,so I grabbed onto her boobs are oh my gosh, they were so soft.” Yuko explained with her hands in a grabbing gesture. Kojiharu simply ignored Yuko’s perverted antics and continued talking to Mariko about various fashion items.
“Mari chan, your earrings match your shirt so well!” Kojiharu reached up to touch Mariko’s ears and the staring Yuko flared into jealous flames.
Mii chan saw this and laughed to herself. It was obvious that Yuko still loved Riku to the extent of blowing up everytime Kojiharu manages to touch another person. It didn’t matter if that person was Kai or herself, Yuko would get jealous, it was rather cute in Mii chan’s opinion.
Kai subtly looked onto Acchan’s plate and noticed the excess amount of tomatoes left on it. She wanted to question her, but everytime she saw her face, she couldn’t help but think of the kiss Acchan initiated. Takeru smirked as he looked at Kai, knowing what she wanted to know.
“Acchan doesn’t like tomatoes, weren’t you her bodyguard before. You should at least know that.”
Takamina didn’t even look at the speaker, concealing her insecurity she had been constantly feeling, she stabbed her the last tomato on her plate and chewed it hard.
It had been 2 months since Kai and Acchan started ignoring each other, and often Takamina would wonder if she was not Kai, but herself, would facing Acchan be easier? To Takamina, looking at either Acchan’s face or Takeru’s, Takamina couldn’t be herself. Because each time she looked at them…
It hurts. “kawaii chiyuu~” Tomomi pressed her index finger onto Tomochin’s cheeks and removed the rice which was stuck to her cheeks. She smiled seductively before licking her fingers.
Tomochin sighed and returned eating. “Tomo, please stop saying Chiyuu…it gets on my nerves and secondly why are you in your seductive mode?”
Tomomi giggled and continued eating after her short remark. “So are you seduced? To-mo-chi-n~”
Tomochin glared at the girl. What was wrong with persona’s manager. Of course she wouldn’t be seduced, she was a girl after all and girls just don’t get seduced by other girls.
Knock
Knock Kuu stood up to open the door and as she did a famous DIVA came running pass her and towards Kai who was inwardly sighing. “R-Ray? Why are you here?”
Ray rubbed her cheeks against the midget blonde and kissed his cheeks. “I missed you so much.” Acchan rubbed her forehead, feeling that a headache might come about, she was willing to do anything to not have to listen to their flirty talk.
“ I love you Kai~”
“Ray…I’ve told you…I can’t love you back..I…”
Something in Ray clicked as she heard those words said to her again and again. It wasn’t fair, she was everything a guy would ever want, what was she lacking that made the blonde not love her. Unless, he was lying about not liking her.
“Kai! I love you so much. I know you do to, you don’t have to lie.”
“Ray-san. Kai doesn’t like you, so can you please leave while we have our dinner?” Tomochin retorted, she was annoyed, why does this woman have to ruin everything for the family.
“Fine but Kai’s coming with me.” The DIVA said as she grabbed onto Takamina’s arm and attempted to pull her away. However Tomochin did the same on the other arm and thus the war began.
“I told you he doesn’t like you.”
“He’s hiding his love for me, because it’s too strong.”
“That’s stupid.”
“Who are you to him anyways?”
Tomochin paused… and smiled.
“I’m his friend.”
“That’s so stupid. You’re his friend but I’m his girlfriend.”
“That has never been agreed. Ray san, I’m his friend that’s kissed him. Besides he lives with me so we’ve done a lot more stuff.”
This conversation was pointless, was what Takamina thought. She just wanted some peace and quiet. The gang, on the other hand listened attentively, especially Mariko and Mii chan.
Tomo on the other hand was jealous, she wanted to kill the Kai, how dare he take her Tomochin away from her while they were having a nice chat…
“What!!!! Don’t bluff!”
“I’m not. Right Kai?”
“Um…”
“He can’t answer, which means you guys haven’t gone that far! Ha!“
Acchan ignored the conversation and continued eating her meal along with Sato Takeru.
“We have!!!!! It was an amazing night!!! 6 months ago I believe” Tomochin really wished the DIVA would just leave, because she was running out of ideas. She didn’t like that fact that Ray was always clinging onto Kai so she thought that if the point that he was taken was given, she might leave. She never thought it would be this hard though.
“Oh. Really.” Ray glared at Kai who shivered, and slapped him hard. “You said that it was your first time that night! Kai~~”
The room went silent, even Acchan stopped having her rice. She turned her head to face the conversation to see a blushing Ray.
What night, are they talking about? “W-W-Wait…what night?”
Ray slapped Kai on the back playfully, her blush intensifying. “I was screaming your name, but you told me to quiet it down…since you didn’t want your brothers and Acchan to hear…remember….mou you’re just shy.”
Wait…Wait…hold on…they did that….in this house. Acchan stood up and walked towards the DIVA. “What are you talking about?” She wanted this to be clear. It had to be a misunderstanding.
It had to be. “I’ll be blunt. We had sex.” Ray smiled and glared at Tomochin who’s arms was loosely by her sides now with Tomomi supporting her.
“We didn’t. Ray.” Kai was serious, this was something that cannot be joked about.
Acchan stuffed her shaking hands in the pocket and stared at Ray. “Don’t lie.”
Ray ignored the glaring actress and turned to Kai. “Kai….I came here to tell you the news…”
Kai didn’t like where this was going. Nor did anyone in the room.
“I’m pregnant…and the baby’s yours. Kai.”
