Time is Good as Gold
Chapter 35(14)
And soon the fated day, Thursday has arrived, the day of their long-awaited class’s trip. They arrived at a certain rural area, surrounded by a mini-forest-like landform.
After all that have happened between the two, Yuki decided to stay stronger as she felt Mayu’s slowly slipping from her hands. That’s when she realized Mayu started to avoid her for no apparent reason. She kept on asking herself what went wrong, or did she even do a single bad thing to make her this ‘unaffectionate’ towards the troubled older girl. Yuki tried to approach the seemingly ‘cold’ figure in front of her, but Mayu just averted her eyes towards the not-so different expressionless girl beside her, Sae. And soon the two girls vanished from Yuki’s eyes.
“What’s wrong Mayu?” Yuki thought as she stared at her clenched wounded fist, remembering all the troubles she’s having that particular moment. She needed Mayu the most, but why isn’t she comforting me when I expected the most?
Yuki is still lost on her thoughts when she happened to pass by a group of unknown girls who are having a mini chit-chat about anything under the sun across the swarm of the students who just unloaded from the buses when suddenly a familiar name slipped out of playful tongue of a certain girl
“I learned Tomochin’s still in the hospital” said the one girl.
“I wonder what really happened to her~” the other girl responded.
Her eyes shot open as early as she heard the name, Tomochin, the one who angered her a few days ago, the monster along with Paruru and all that Black Queens who tried to reborn the dormant Gekikara deep inside Rena. It’s the only thing she didn’t want to happen aside from Mayu leaving her side.

Mayu tried her hardest to avoid Yuki’s glances. The smaller girl totally knew what’s been happening between the two of them and yet she endured the pain of seeing the sadness coming from the taller girl who kept on staring at her with pleading eyes. “I should make things better, before I leave you Yuki~” Mayu thought as she averted her eyes from the piercing stare of Yuki and attended the gloomy figure beside her, Sae.
Sae just let a sigh as she walked towards the resting area with Mayu by her side And After a few hours of nonsensible conversations from the girls surrounding the Genking, Sae, the students heard an alerting call from the newest professor in the school, Oshima-sensei.
“Okay, so to get things right and smoothly as possible let’s organize ourselves first, okay?” Yuko, stepping on a high chair, explained in front of pool of students.
Yuki hoped she gets paired with her ladylove but all her hopes faltered as she heard a different name after Mayu’s. Rena beside her never had a chance to console the down figure and just decided to pat her shoulder.
“Mayu would be with Sae” Yuko announced as she paid a glance on the two side by side figures.
In the end, Mayu went with Sae and Yuki was paired with Mocchi, who apparently just came from a Tennis Championship outside the city. Rena gets paired with Airin.

Meanwhile, inside a dark cold lone room, a figure can be seen recoiling in an odd manner as she buried herself under the thick mattress, Jurina. “I wonder how you feel towards me~” she thought as she tightens her hug with her knees. “How are you doing, Rena….?” Jurina thought on her depressing state one would oughtta know.
Jurina POV
I still remember the days when we’re still younger, You were my shield, my home....

“Jurina! Come here!” A younger Rena shouted over to Jurina who plays along with her other friends. Jurina still wearing her smile, a proof of her enjoyment with the others, walked towards the older girl.
“What’s the problem?” Jurina asked.
“Stay here….just right here~” Rena blushing uttered as she averted her eyes from the pleading eyes of the puppy girl.
“are you jealous?” Jurina asked mischievously as she shortens the proximity between the two of them.
“I’m not!” Rena turned her back and was about to go when suddenly Jurina hugged her from behind locking her up with both arms pressing her body as close as possible. The gesture made Rena ever redder.
“you’re the only one for me~”

As soon as their activities started, Yuki couldn’t seem to find Mayu anywhere else as if being over-protective once again to her girlfriend. She felt all alone as she stated to feel failure engulfed around her scanning the swarm of students without Mayu and Sae in it. Instead the pair who caught her eyes was Rena and Airin. Yuki couldn’t help but to notice the smile plastered across the overjoyed figure beside Rena.
“Did I see her blush there?” Yuki thought as Airin unintentionally held (if not) Rena’s hand while helping the pale raven-haired woman. Yuki getting more curious or more likely irritated with such unpleasant scenery before her eyes unconsciously started to follow the two figures endlessly.
Airin’s happiness couldn’t be denied as she kept her smile towards Rena who seemed not minding anything and kept on her pace, doing the activities given by Yuko.

Meanwhile, the squirrel teacher is almost losing her control over the seductive figure beside her who kept on clinging on her since the beginning.
“Woi! I paired you with someone else~ why are you still here?” Yuko coyly asked the tall seductive girl but in reality enjoying her presence.
“mou~ I don’t know her at all, why not pair me with you then?” the airhead girl asked as she hugged the petite teacher from her back.
“tch! You can’t be with a professor!” Yuko weakly tries the hug which she, in reality, enjoying while Haruna just tightened the hug.
“AHHH this is dangerous!!” Yuko thought almost losing her cool from the taller girl’s aggression towards her.

“Okay, carry this and this and this…..” Sae uttered as she kept on throwing stuff on Mayu’s vulnerable slim arms. Mayu isn’t bothered at all since her mind is wandering elsewhere, thinking of a particular person, Yuki. Mayu kindly obliged on every Sae’s desires setting aside her unhealthy state. From carrying stuff one couldn’t imagine and actually isn’t even needed up to bringing Sae some food and water. All of those, Mayu did.
“Yuki, what are you doing now?” Mayu thought as she mindlessly walks beside her partner who apparently seems enjoying her evilness towards the smaller girl.

Meanwhile on the other end of the area, two arguing figures can be seen. Yuki and Mocchi, who seem not very pleased with their progress with the activities since all they did was to ran after Rena and the seemingly in love Airin.
“See? Look! We haven’t finished anything yet! It’s your fault!” Mocchi shouted and pointed her finger at Yuki.
“Huh? WOW!! So you care now huh? Ultimate BLACK QUEEN!” Yuki answered in the same manner but empahzing the last three words. Mocchi was taken aback from the sudden statement from Yuki and just wore a blank clueless face.
“You don’t have to deny it~” Yuki’s eyebrows narrowed as she kept a furious stare at the figure in front of her.
“W-What are you talking about?! You’re crazy! Tch~” Mocchi stuttered as she averted her eyes from Yuki’s.
Yuki felt a little confused with Mocchi’s response, obviously denying her allegations, as a question suddenly popped inside her head. “If you’re not….then who?”

After the activites, the students started to pool around the recreation area to have a brief rest. Yuki lost in her thoughts, as she mindlessly wandered across the area, laid at last her eyes towards a very much familiar figure, Mayu, who seems tired and pale, also slightly panting, probably because of her hard-work throughout the day. Yuki turned her eyes on the figure close the resting Mayu, Sae who kept attending the other unknown girls’ nonsensible questions towards her despite of Mayu’s condition. She couldn’t help but feel fire heat up her head and rush towards the uncaring partner of Mayu.
“What happened to Mayu?!” Yuki almost shouting at the shocked Genking before her.
“Happened? What are you talking about?!” Sae averted her eyes and turned her body away from Yuki with a grin plastered on her face.
Yuki once again paid a glance on her poor girlfriend who seems has noticed the commotion she’s making with Sae. Mayu looks terribly worried as she kept her weak eyes opened to watch her girlfriend’s actions.
“Yuki~ stop…please” Mayu pleadingly asked still supporting her weight on her knees.
Yuki couldn’t resist her cool, rushed towards Sae and launched a hard punch towards Sae. Sae being shocked with the sudden move of Yuki wasn’t able to avoid the aggression and landed on the floor.
“YOU!!!” Yuki shouted as she glared to Sae with burning eyes. Thankfully Rena who just arrived at the area was fast enough to withhold Yuki’s future advances towards the down figure.
“Yuki~ stop! Stop!” Rena uttered as she struggles on holding the burning Yuki at hand. Suddenly, the professors led by Yuko arrived at the commotion happening.
“WHAT HAPPENED?!” Yuko frantically asked among the students especially the three stars of the seemingly skit happening.
Yuki, Sae and Rena.
Finally, Yuki calmed down in Rena’s arm and turned her back but still feeling anger towards Sae. “It’s my fault” Yuki confessed as she bowed lowly on Yuko. Yuko just paid the two a very much seemingly warning stare as she drove away the swarm of student around them.
“Yuki~ we need to talk” Yuko uttered.

Almost all of the students are now enjoying their free time towards the end of the day. Rena sitting beside Airin keeps on staring at her almost burning marshmallow at hand. Her mind wandered across her dreamland as she worries about Yuki who apparently received her sanction because of what she did to Sae. Yuko decided to isolate Yuki from the others for the time being as her sanction. It’s not more of a sanction but more like of taking precautions not to make any other person gets hurt from Yuki’s madness, Madness coming from her ‘so-called obssession’ towards her girlfriend.
“How are you now, Yuki?” Rena thought as she noticed her marshmallow already slipped and fell down from her stick as Airin kept her worried look.
“Are you alright?” Airin asked Rena.
“I guess not….” Rena responded as she stood up and walked towards the other side of the area.

Everyone seems enjoying the bonfire. Small chit-chats can be heard around the bonfire coming out from the overly-excited figures towards the end of the day.
“Since we’re here, why not talk about horror stories?!” one student close to Mayu suggested.
“kyaa~ I don’t like horror stories!” the girl beside reacted as she clang on her friend.
Mayu just chuckled on their mindless conversstions, as she felt a little distracted from her reality. “Yuki, where are you?” she thought as she’s not being able to find Yuki with her eyes. Feeling a huge guilt from not attending her girlfriend’s needs she opted to grab a pack of marshmallows resting in her front and paved her way towards where Yuki might be at.
Her brisk steps seemed endless as she wandered across the pool of students. Until she found Yuki…
But she’s not alone..
Rena’s with her…
Hugging her.
Mayu felt weak as if a sharp knife has stabbed on her heart seeing Yuki on other's arms. Tears began to form and pool on the corners of her eyes. She stood alone watching the two hug each other.
And soon the poor marshmallows have escaped from her weak grip.
Mayu left.

~few moments ago~
“I knew you’re here” Rena uttered as she found Yuki sitting alone on the far away corner from where she was. Yuki just smiled at her and tapped the space beside her. Rena accepted the offer and sat beside the down figure.
“Does it hurt?” Rena asked without looking to Yuki. Yuki kept her silence.
“I’ll be here..no matter what..” Rena murmured as she held Yuki’s clenched fist. Yuki nodded softly understanding Rena’s warm support on her.
“I-I just….” Yuki’s voice started to crumble as she was about to cry.
“Ssshh….” Rena uttered as she pulled Yuki on her arms and hugged the figure tightly. Yuki just surrendered on her misery as her silent cries echoed.
“I’ll be here, Yuki”
Yuki calming down as if she felt energized from Rena's warm support suddenly plastered a fierce expression as she remembered her recent interaction with Mocchi.
"Mocchi..." Yuki uttered with a blank face. Rena just turned her head towards Yuki. "hmmm.."
"She's clueless...." Yuki uttered as Rena fell upon the confusing air filling them.
