Chapter 14-Black Confession


Mayu and Yuki went to school the next day, but there's one...

TINY~~~ problem...

1. Mayu reunited with Jurina
2. Jurina kissed Mayu
3. Mayu started saying Yuki's name in between kisses
4. Sae and Yuki are making out again
5. Yuki moaned Mayu's name
6. Yuki might have just broken up with Sae

So~.....

Yeah~... Mayu and Yuki are kinda ignoring each other.

Awkward~.

But, then...

"Class, please welcome our new student, Matsui Jurina-san."

"EEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH?!?!?!?!?!?!"

Mayu grabbed Jurina and pulled her all the way to another room.

"Jurina, what the HECK are you doing here?!"

"I'm going to help you."

"With what?!"

"I dare you! You need to confess to Yuki by the end of the day, or I'll seal your magic away for a week!"

Jurina was laughing evily as she walked back to the classroom.

Mayu was frozen, her jaw dropped to the ground.

"What? I need to what?"

She finally got it in her head.

"Confess to Yuki."

"I need to WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!"


Mayu's POV

One class...

Two classes...

Three classes...

AND NO CONFESSION!!!!

Why?! Why Jurina?!

This doesn't help at all!

I can't do that! I can't confess to Yuki!!! She has a girlfriend!!!

And that girlfriend is Sae!!!

If I do that to them....

I walk up and went into one of the bathroom stalls...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"

And I screamed as loud as I could in the stall, my magic exploding and making it seem like a mad party.

I went back out, letting out the steam and went back into the room.

"Mayu~!"

*VROOOM*

Jurina raced past me and tackled me into another room.

"Jurina, what do you want now?"

"It's lunch time. It's the perfect time to confess!"

I turned red and stood up to face her.

"Jurina! I can't do that! I can't and I won't!!!"

Jurina glared at me and gave me her cat smile grin.

But, it looked different...

It looked... sly...

She pulled out something in her pocket. A card.



"Oh no... NONONONONO! Not that! PLEEAAAASSSE not that!!!"

"Ooooh yes. That."

She threw the card up in the air and it spun multiple times in the air, reflecting our faces on both sides.

It landed on the ground and created a large puff of smoke that covered us.

When it disappeared, I fanned the rest of the smoke away and...

And, I saw myself.

"Jurina?"

She nodded.

I looked at my hand. My outfit.

I felt my hair and my face. And the curves in my lips.

I took out a mirror and...

Oh god... Jurina, why?!?!?!?!

She used the "Change" spell and now...

We switched bodies!!!!

"Jurina, why did you do this to us?!"

"YOU obviously can't confess to Yuki. So, I'M gonna do it for you."

"No! Jurina, please!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!"

She walked to the door and slammed it in front of me.

"Too~ late!"

Yuki's POV

Sae... Mayu... Sae~... Mayu~.... SAE!!! MAYU!!!

OH MY GOD!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?!?!?!?!?!

How can this happen?

Sae... Mayu...

What am I gonna say to them?

"Yuki!"

I turned and saw Mayu behind me.

She pulled me out of my chair and stood me up.

"M-Mayu, I--"

"Yuki. I love you."

...Eh? EEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH?!?!?!?!?!?!

"Y-you what?"

"I love you. I really do."

People in the classroom were looking and whispering.

Mayu suddenly hugged me tight.

Too tight. Is she trying to choke me?!

"I've loved you for a really, REALLY, long time now..."

She pushed me away and she...

Oh god, I can't say it...

Mayu's POV

Oh my god, Jurina!

You're kissing Yukirin!!!!

WHY? WHY?! WHY?!?!?!

Oh, I'm so mad, I'm gonna....

Well, y'know...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"

Just a lot louder...

I walked back out and basically drowned my head in the sink.

I looked up and saw Sae staring at me.

"Sae-chan!"

"Eh? You know my name?"

"Ah! Y-yes! I'm a new student. My name's Jurina."

I bowed down, and then I got an idea...

"Sae. Do you have a girlfriend?"

"EH?! Y-y-y-yes... Her name is Kashiwagi Yuki."

"I just saw Watanabe-san kissing her."

"Eh?! Mayuyu is?!"

We both ran into the room and I pointed to the two of them kissing.

She was so shocked, I couldn't read her face.

"How do you feel?"

"I..."

Yes. Stop it! Let's make sure it never happens again!!!

But, wait...

What if she..?

Oh no... I need to stop this!

I walked in and tapped Jurina's shoulder.

"Mayu..."

She turned and saw me.

"Do you even know Yuki's feelings? She has a girlfriend! You can't just do this!"

"B-but..."

"No buts! She doesn't need this! She's already fine now, so she doesn't need this! Please stop! Reconsider!!!"

Reconsider...

Oh god...

I ran out and went outside.

I'm going to a place only I can find peace.

Yuki's POV

"...Mayu, what are you--?"

"Yukirin..."

I looked over and saw Sae standing there.

Sae...

"Yukirin, do you...?"

"W-wait, Sae... I... I-I'm so..."

"Do you like Mayu?"

Eh?

"Yukirin, you can tell me... I just wanna know how you feel..."

But... I don't even know how I feel...

I mean, Sae's my first love, and my girlfriend...

But, Mayu...

All I can think of is Mayu, Mayu, Mayu, and... Mayu.

What do I do?

Then, Mayu tapped my shoulder.

"Um... I'm gonna say something. Jurina's my ex, and she broke up with me because, yesterday, I kissed her and I started moaning your name, Yuki."

"Eh?! Is that true? Yuki was doing the same thing, but..."

Wait, what?!

Mayu took my hand and pulled me out of the room, to one of the staircases that lead to the roof.

"But, Mayu, why did you..?"

She snapped her fingers, and she instantly changed in front of me.

Mayu was Jurina.

Then, that means Jurina was actually Mayu!

Oh god, I'm such an idiot!

"Go talk to her."

I nodded and ran up the stairs.

Mayu was standing on the roof, and she looked like she was doing the Titanic thing.

And, she was singing...



The student quarters in the cold wintry wind
 We arranged to meet under the Platanus tree
 15 minutes already passed
 I pout because you haven't come yet

The dead leaves collecting at my feet
 Comfort my loneliness softly...

Because of the unkind sunset
 Time passes quickly
 Shadows stretch longer
 It's almost closing time

While running on the other side of the street
 You say "I'm sorry" in a loud voice
 It's embarassing but I'm happy
 The mood was quickly fixed

Because it's my first time having a boyfriend
 I don't know what to do

The unkind sun is falling
 Winter constellations in the sky
 Rotate in the darkness
 We hold hands gently

"Yes, you didn't do anything wrong.
 I came earlier than our meeting time"
 The bad one was the sunset

The sunset's unkindness

Because of the unkind sunset
 Time passes quickly
 Shadows stretch longer
 It's almost closing time

Oh god, that's so beautiful... I've never heard Mayu sing.

I went up to her and sneaked up behind.

I leaned down to whisper in her ear.

"I love you too."

When she turned around, I instantly grabbed her and kissed her.

Her face was already so hot from her blushing, but it was getting even hotter.

But, she kissed me back... Thank goodness...

We kissed in front of the beautiful sky and hugged tight.

Mayu started crying into my shoulder.

"I'm so sorry, Yuki! I... I really love you! I wouldn't do anything to hurt you! I..."

"Shut up!"  She pulled back and looked at me. "You're such a crybaby..."

She cried again and hugged me tighter.

"Yukiiiiii!!! You're being too sweeeeeet!!!! I can't stop cryiiiiinng!!!!!!"

"Mou... You're so cute..."

I kissed her forehead and hugged her back.

"I love you, Yuki."

"I love you too, Mayu."

Yuki's POV

It's been a few days since Mayu confessed to me and we became an official couple.

Truth be told, I never expected anything like this to happen.

But, it's okay. Mayu's already been so nice.

...I just hope we'll be alright.

I've had this bad feeling that something will happen to us ever since we became a couple.

Please... don't let anything happen.


*Ring* *Ring*

"Huh?"

Is Mayu calling me this late at night?

*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*

*Beep*

"Hello?"

"Nee... Kashiwagi..."

"Hm? Who is this? Tell me who you are."

"Nee... Tell me~... You mad at me.. for... killing your friend~?"

I was suddenly stunned with a horrifying memory from long ago.

Everything came back.

The day that I lost myself.

My chest was suddenly struck with a strong, sharp pain and I passed out.

The last thing I remember hearing was an evil laughter coming from the phone.


The next morning I woke up and I pretended like nothing ever happened.

But, I couldn't forget.

There were images from long ago playing over and over in my head and I couldn't stop them.

The laughter was evil and I could hear it everywhere I went.

I wanted to tell my parents I didn't want to go to school, but I don't want them to worry.

...And, I want to see Mayu.

So, I walked into the school and I was still a bit dizzy from last night.

I held onto the wall for support, trying to catch my breath. I grasped my chest.

Leaning up against the wall, I pursed my eyes together and breathed heavily as the nightmare repeated in my head.

"You mad? Hahahahahaha! Hahahahaha..."

"...S-s-s-st-stop..."

"Yuki?"

I look up and saw a familiar face.

"Ma..yu..."

"Yuki, you look sick. Did something happen yesterday? You're skin's even a little pink!"

"Mayu... H-help me..."

"Come with me!"

She pulled my arm and lead me to the bathroom. Her hand reached up to my head.

"You're burning up! What's wrong?"

"..I.. don't know..."

"What do you mean?"

"I've been feeling like this ever since... since..."

"Just calm down." She pulled out a gummy candy from her pocket and placed it in my mouth.

I tried to chew it, but I got choked and fell to my knees.

I felt like I was gonna pass out again, my vision getting darker.

"Don't worry."

She placed it in her mouth and kissed me, transferring the candy into my mouth.

Her tongue was twisting and turning, dancing with mine, while the sweet fruity flavor of the gummy lingered.

"...Mm.. wait... M-M-Mayu..."

She didn't stop. In fact, she increased her pace.

I couldn't breathe and was completely lost in the heat of the kiss.

"..Mm~ Ma... yu~... Ahh...."

*Ring* *Ring*

She finally broke the kiss and stared at my pocket. My phone was ringing.

Oh god... I thought I had it on vibrate.

*Beep*

"Kashiwagi~... I'm here!"

I dropped my phone and panicked. I held my head as my breathing got harder and harder.

Mayu got angry and picked up the phone.

"Who is this?!"

"Nee, Watanabe... Are you mad because I'm threatening your girlfriend~? Hehehehehehe."

"What?! Who are you?! ..Hello? Hello?! She hung up."

She closed the phone and turned back to me. I was still catching my breath.

"Are you okay?"

"..Haa... haa... M-M-Mayu... D-don't.. go so crazy... Haa..."

"Sorry. I just got caught up in the moment. Feel better now, Yuki?"

"Who was that? She's so scary..."

"Don't worry. I'll find her."

I nodded.

She hugged me tight, and I felt a little better.

But, it still really hurts...


Mayu's POV

I'm gonna find that girl who's threatening Yuki.

I'm not gonna let anyone hurt her.

After class, I ran over to the room next door and found Jurina.

"Jurina! I need your help."

"What is it?"

"Someone's threatening Yuki. We need to find who she is."

I took out Yuki's phone and showed her the caller I.D.

"Do you know this girl?"

"Ma.. Matsui? She has my family name... But, no. She doesn't sound familiar."

"Matsui Rena. She said she was here. What if she transferred to school?"

"We should find her quick!"

We both ran off in different directions to search for Rena before she could find Yuki.

I checked the upper level of the school, while Jurina took the lower level.

After checking all the hallways and rooms, I decided to go up higher.

I found the stairs to the roof and started climbing up, when...

"Kyaaaa!!!"

"Yuki!"

I ran up and saw a young girl strangling Yuki.

Yuki was gasping for air, holding the girl's hands at her neck and trying to break free.

All the while, she was.. laughing. She was laughing maniacally.

"..Ma... yu..."

"Stop it! Yuki's going to die!"

"Hehehehe... Don't worry, it won't be painful. She'll just give out after a while~. Hehehehehe."

I ran over and released the girl from Yuki and pinned her to the ground.

Yuki fell flat on the ground, trying to catch her breath.

"Why are you doing this to Yuki?!"

"I want revenge..."

"What?"

"She killed my brother! My brother and his friends were finally gonna set her straight, and she killed him! I swore revenge on her!"

"I don't know what he did, but he hurt Yuki! She never would've have meant to if he didn't hurt her! It's HIS own fault he's gone!"

She was silent, but then her smile grew wide and she started laughing again.

"Hahahahahaha!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"

Oh god... What's wrong with this girl? She must've really lost it after she lost her brother.

"If you're going to stop me, I'll let you die with Yuki!!!" She grabbed my neck and started strangling me hard.

I tried to make her let go, but she was so strong.

"You two can be together... in the afterlife! Hehehehehehehe..."

"...S-s-stop..!!"

"Rena!"

I heard a familiar voice that made her grip loosen.

This was Rena, but who...?

"Rena! Stop..."

I looked over and saw Jurina.

"...Who are you?"

"I'm here to help you, Rena. You can't live like this."

She let go of me and stood up, glaring at Jurina.

"You can't do this anymore. You're brother was never right, so you can't go and do things like this. You're brother killed someone important to Yuki, and that caused her to do what she did. She was doing it because she loved him and saw him die right in front of him."

"But... he..."

"You're making up lies. The image in front of you and the image in your mind are two different things. You need to let go and forget about him. She already got revenge, so there's nothing you can do."

Rena gripped her fist and gritted her teeth, running faster towards Jurina.

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!!!!"

Right before she came in contact with her, Jurina pulled out a card and held it up to her forehead.

Rena froze in her spot and fainted.

"Jurina..?"

"I used this." She held up the card.



"I erased her memory to ease her pain. I don't want her to go on with such a burden."

"Thanks, Jurina."

I slowly walked over to Yuki, still passed out.

"Yuki... Yuki, everything will be alright."

When I touched her, she felt really cold and stiff. Like stone.

"Yuki?"

I picked her up and nudged her a bit.

"Yuki? Wake up. Yuki!"

I shook her more and more, but she wouldn't get up.

I pulled out the star badge in my pocket, and...

It... it turned black.

"Yuki?! Yuki!!!"

Jurina ran over and got close.

Her eyes widened and she said something that made my heart shatter.

"She's... She's not breathing!!!"
