Bittersweet Chapter 4 3/9/2013
« on: February 26, 2013, 11:04:55 AM »
I had my thoughts with this and had to discover that I struggled in thinking of this pairing.  Why does it work?  How can this be explained in a way that can make sense to me?  Will it sound forced to the many readers here?  I wanted Dark Side of the Moon to be a simple pairing story but seems rather weird with the introductions of other characters that will play small roles to the complex nature of what I wanted to do.  As for the many readers, I would first apologize that this is how I feel about the pairing.  It is an incompatible role for both but who cares, this is fan fiction :nervous

I ask that you not say the pairing too loud unless you really want to, and as a warning, I may put up more perv chapters than regular if I have my way :nervous

Prologue

The light in the next room awoke the sleeping woman.  She wasn’t sure why it was turned on but she knew the morning was a few hours away.  Blinking her eyes a few times, she gave into the temptation of her bed, and turned over blocking the bright color from her eyes.  Her body felt molded into the bed and let out a deep breath adapting her body to the warmth.

“Wake up, Mayu!”  The voice called.

Watanabe Mayu knew who possessed the angelic vocals that would awake her.  Could she have said those words again?  Sadly, the wind tricked her again.  Rolling the other way, she felt the cold floor below, and reached for the slippers close to the bed.  The firm grip between her feet and the material was a normal feeling in the morning as she shuffled her feet to the first stop of her morning trip.

Brushing her long, black bangs back, she stared at the reflection that haunted her for a few years.  It was a new experience for her living alone for the first time.  The voices that would welcome her were gone forever and a used reality came upon her.  The image of her parents lying in a pool of red struck her mind a few too many times, leaving the only chance that she had to take down the suspects.

Advancing to the kitchen, she gripped the handle of the refrigerator and pulled on it, opening a cool stream of air towards her body.  The bare shelves were usually normal for her as the hunger calls became audible.  Mayu slammed the door behind her and headed toward the water basin for a drink.  The faucet cried what little it could provide for her and took its gift with a hint of disgust.

Suddenly, the dull knocks caught her attention and headed for the door.  Peeking through the hole, the person had left before she could recognize its appearance.  She opened the door to a small brown package with a white envelope neatly on top.  The lettering was of blood red and issued towards her attention.  Carefully picking it up with her palms, she closed the front door with her foot.

She slid her finger between the unsealed parts, ripping the envelope top in a rigid line.  A card slid of its container and opened to a small message with the blood red color.  She scanned over it quickly and dropped the card onto the floor.  Flames started to build within her.  Her answer was in front of her but pondered over the plan.  She opened the box to discover a stack of 10,000 yen bills neatly packed inside.

It was a start.  She needed that seed money for her plan to unravel.  However, the events seemed to roll above the many bumps that she didn’t expect.  That day she was ready for action for once.  She packed her stuff into a duffel bag and looked forward to her new life.

--------

Chapter 1

Life-changing events happen once in a while.  An event where things can turn for and against you.  Something where you can pinpoint in your life that it made your life better or worst.  Watanabe Mayu had gotten that opportunity two years ago where three million yen came to her front door.  After watching her parents fall in front of her, she vowed to destroy the people who did it to her family.

Following the note, she acquired two things, a house and weapons.  Hidden deep in the Tokyo skyscrapers, she had laid out the plan for her revenge.  Five people were placed in front of her, using her superb drawing skills, she placed their portraits on the wall.  Mayu eyed each of them before heading out to the bookstore for her pickup of anime manga.

It was a brief cover up to analyze the situation on the streets.  The group met up at the bookstore once in a while, giving an opportunity to seek their faces.  Hidden behind the crowd, she heard the many ventures that they performed.  However, what she didn’t expect was the canes they carried to support them.  Her heart raged at their appearance and instantly reflected her plan.

Escaping the growing crowd, she returned back to the apartment to another box on the table.  Mayu searched around her for anybody that was present before approaching the box.  It was of similar size and color with a white envelope with blood red lettering on it.  She ripped it open to find pieces of paper falling to the ground and a telephone card.  She picked it up and turned to find numbers scribbled on it.

Crumbling the paper in her hand, she headed back out into the streets to seek a telephone booth.  Two blocks away was the nearest phone booth next an outdoor café slowly filling with people.  She stepped inside and looked down at the piece of paper.  Her hands started to freeze as she firmly dialed the number and a ring startled her senses.  One ring.  Two rings.  Three rings.  As she was ready to hang up, a voice came through the speakers.

“Who is this?”  The voice asked with a nasty feminine undertone.

“This is Watanabe Mayu.  I am asking for your assistance.”

“This gotta be a joke right?  No civilian would have my number, who sent you my number?”  She demanded as Mayu gripped the phone.

“It was sent in a brown box and a white envelope with blood red lettering.”  She explained as the irritation was lingering on the other side.  “I have money and weapons.”

A sadistic laugh came with her statement.  Mayu felt her spine tingle as she waited for the reply.  Her heart slowed to a constant thump every second.  Then, a knock forced her to turn to a businessman asking for the use of the phone.  Mayu signaled that it was an important call and he walked away showing his frustration.  A second later, a zooming motorcycle came by and splattered red onto the booth.

“Was he bothering you?”

Mayu’s heartbeat rose to a thunderous roar as the smear of blood was slowly oozing down the sides.  Digging her nails into the phone, she began to panic over the situation before a bystander wiped the blood to reveal her inside.

“He wasn’t really.”

“Aww that seemed like a waste.”  The disappointment in her voice shook Mayu down to her knees.

“My parents were killed by the Five Demons after a run-in with them.”

“Five Demons, you say?”  She questioned.  “I think we have a deal but I don’t need any weapons.”

“Can we meet somewhere?  I feel comfortable that way.”  Mayu asked.

She laughed at the statement but coolly agreed, “The café outside of the phone booth is fine.”

Mayu hung up before taking a deep breath as the street was covered with blood.  The body was out flat with his arms flailed out.  His face disfigured from what had hit him and the following car ran over his crushed skull.  Mayu turned away to prevent any etching of the memory in her mind and walked up to the reservation stand.

“Watanabe Mayu, I assume?”  She smiled and pointed toward the table in the back with a person waving towards her.

Slowly walking through the café, the tables were unusually empty for an early afternoon where people would have their lunch.  Mayu noticed the few left were further in from the accident that happened ten minutes ago.  She took her seat across of the raven-haired beauty.  The woman glanced up at Mayu and presented a pure smile with her right hand extended to her.  “Mayu, welcome to the club.”

“What club?”  She pondered as she hesitantly shook her hand.

“The Five Demons killers of course.  We are out to destroy the gang that ruined us.”  She remarked as she wrapped her lips around the straw for water.

“What did they do to you?”

“We’ll say that they are just enemies of my father and they have enjoyed their fun.”

“I have a feeling it isn’t just us two.”  She wondered as the ambulance came by to pick up the body.

“Well… your suspicions are correct but we cannot assemble just yet.”

“Why not?”

“We haven’t had lunch yet.”  She exclaimed as she lifted the menu up to her face.

Mayu’s concern grew with the meeting.  She started to feel the tension in the air with the empty café and the laugh she heard on the phone couldn’t be from her until the waitress came and took the order.  Mayu assured the laugh was genuinely from her and ordered the small salad with a glass of water.  She moved the menu to the side and grabbed her long hair and presented it into a ponytail.

“I forgot to mention my name, Kashiwagi Yuki.”  She blurted out as she took another sip from her drink.

“Yuki… What did they do you?”  Mayu spoke in a soft tone.

“They tortured me for a few years when I was a kid but I ran away before they could install a plan on me.”  She explained.  “They would have done it to everyone but all of them suffered an unusual sickness.”

“Sickness?”

“I’m not sure what it is exactly but one person in particular wants to do it herself and we will get her after lunch.”

Mayu nodded her head as she understood that she wasn’t the lone person hurt but to kill them while they were deteriorating was not a great option.  She wanted them dead like her parents were killed in front of her but they must have had a reason to not get her.  Then, she remembered the canes from the bookstore and shook her head confirming the truth in front of her.

She turned back to notice her salad was sitting in front of her.  Grasping the fork between her thumb and forefinger, she poked through the green mass and munched through it.  The silence ended as she munched on the crisp greens.  The acidity of the dressing penetrated the mouth and fit in perfectly with her water to wash down the rest.  Mayu enjoyed the continuous cycle of water and salad until the plate was wiped clean, leaving a mark within her.

“Well Mayu I hope we can enjoy our time together to rid of the Five Demons.”  She noted.

“I hope so too.”  Mayu agreed as she placed down a 10,000 yen bill on the table.

“Well thanks for the meal and we shall see my friend at the prison.”  Yuki announced as she let out a haunting laugh.

Yuki led Mayu to the street corner where a black Toyota was parked and Yuki slid into the driver’s seat.  Mayu took to the passenger side where the leather was warmed by the afternoon sun.  She started the engine with a few revs before blasting down the street to the prison on the other side of town.

@cisda: Well not only those two perhaps more in the later chapters

@mayuki_daisuki: Yes the Five Demons are indeed evil but a shell of themselves.... that will be solved soon enough

@fuu_kun: here it is

Author's Note: This chapter is a little more gory and violent than the others, I actually toned it down from my original plan.  Especially explaining the next character which some one did guess correctly, however it wasn't going to be a perv chapter so it didn't involve that as much as the violence would have been going overboard

P.S. The next chapter will be one :P

Chapter 2

The car pulled up to the Majisuka prison gate.  It was an over towering building with four big buildings surrounding a big open field.  The guards let them through with little questioning and they headed to a small lot where the prison guards would release the inmates.  Yuki parked the car in the spot to the right of the entrance and stepped out to see the one of them waiting for her outside the entrance.  Mayu quickly followed behind as the tall black-haired beauty stood in front of him.

“Who are you picking up, Kashiwagi?”

“Matsui, sir.” She said in a stern voice keeping her concentration down to the pavement.

“Do you have clearance?”

Yuki handed over a pink slip to the guard.  He carefully looked through every line with his beady eyes and then pounded the door behind him.  The door sprang open letting the two enter into the building.  The room was filled with workers running around getting calls from any which source but one receptionist stood out, a middle-aged woman with thick glasses and salt and pepper hair.  Her figure gave away her status as a mother with the roundish hips and pictures of her three children placed on the table.

“Are you here to pick up somebody?”

“Matsui Rena.”

“Okay, she shall be in the holding cell to your right.”  She pointed to her left while her eyes were still on the screen.

The metal door slid open before us and we entered into a white hallway with no windows.  The door closed behind us as we continued walking until we reached the door.  Yuki turned the knob to a beige-colored room where two guards were holding a woman erect in her shackles.

She was blinking her eyes slowly as she stared at the two with her body limp between the two guys.  Yuki walked up to the guards to present her credentials and they unlocked her from the restraints.  She collapsed into Yuki’s arms and a smile grew on her face.  Mayu stood behind the prisoner as they escorted her out into the free world.  Passing through all the secured areas, they arrived outside to the sudden pouring of rain.

“Rain… It feels good.”  She responded as we hurry into the car.

“They really had their way with her in there.”  Mayu whispered.

“You don’t know what it is like in there.”  She butted in scaring Mayu back into her seat.

“Rena, calm down.  I worked some strings to get you out of here.  Don’t you fail on me!”  Yuki informed as the car pulled out from the stall.

Matsui Rena had been incarcerated for a brutal crime, not of her own choosing but for the purpose of escaping the cult.  The Five Demons were responsible for her mother’s suicide.  She was a product of one of them after a group rape incident.  Staying with her mother brought torture into her life.  She was bullied many times until an adult friend taught her to fight back.  She secretly held training in a dojo deep in the forest.  For months, she stayed to practice until she returned confident in her skills.  However, her mother had begun to decline with the drinking and the late night stays as a prostitute.

The first day back, she stood steady for any bully as she was supposed to do but seeing the one who tortured her the most.  She snapped instantly.  Rena snapped her wrist back and delivered a blow to her face.  She watched her as she collapsed to the ground.  Her protectors came as a group and one by one they discovered the nasty blow that knocked them out cold.

Rena started up the film within her mind of the past and grabbed the girl into the locker room.  Hearing her pleas, she jammed the door behind her and started her assault.  The path was littered with broken lockers and blood spewing from every part of the body.  However, it didn’t stop her from pummeling the bully until she reached the shower.

Tearing off all her clothes, Rena delivered her precise blows into the chest and midsection until she couldn’t hear the pleas any more.  She looked down with blood smeared on her face and saw the lifeless naked body of the girl.

“It doesn’t seem enough to leave you like this.”  She pondered as the fight at the door was becoming more active.

She grabbed the plunger and looked down at her.  “I must disgrace you.”  She held it over her head and placed the suction over her mouth.  She vigorously pumped until her energy gave way to exhaustion.  Rena held her despicable smile for a second before climbing out of the window when the crowd managed to bust through.

Rena left her bruised and battered but the worst abuse was she couldn’t walk again.  The attack led to a manhunt but quickly subsided with the remorseful story about her.  She didn’t have to return to school anymore to face them or anyone else, now she had power within her hands.  With that power, it was a challenge to maintain the possession of her will.

She kept a low profile until a gang cornered her after a night of heavy drinking with businessmen.  The five men grabbed her and attempted to rip her clothes off but she managed to grasp one of their manhood and used him as a shield.  The man’s whimper forced the men off her and she destroyed them with lethal kicks into the throat while the last one suffered through the emotional pain of her grip.

She wobbled through the streets until a policeman came to save her from the cold.  He took her in while she was unconscious from the alcohol.  He sought for the mother by phone but on that night he heard the horrible news through the television about a suicide.  The number was traced to the address and he was left to send her off to foster care.  The next morning she had left on her own to venture the streets.

A few days after the incident, she was in an altercation with a yakuza member and attempted to finish him but the police caught her.  After a mental evaluation, she was sent to the hospital but it was short lived with the killing of two patients.  Rena was sent to the confines of Majisuka where two years of her young life was spent in solitude away from the population.

However, her fight never ended with ten people injured or dead because of lack of supervision while on the grounds.  Her fists were the weapons that were the causes of all the altercations and she only insisted on punishment if she felt they could do it.  Leaving her face bruised, no one bothered with her for a period of time and only battled the guards until her granted release.

“I’m hungry.”  Rena moaned with her hands on the passenger’s seat.

“We’ll go home to get something for you.”  Yuki replied as Rena crept up to Mayu’s ear.

“I have my appetite for you.”  She whispered into the ear causing Mayu to grab the door handle.

“Mayu, control yourself before you get hurt.”  Yuki slapped Rena’s hands away as she pulled up to a stop light.

Mayu felt her heart beating quickly and calmly grabbed the front in trying to avoid Rena’s touch again.  Yuki turned to see Rena quietly passed out in the back.  She knew it was a short distance away but Yuki couldn’t stand to take a chance and pulled into an empty lot.

“Mayu, I’m sorry about this but take the bus home from here.”

“Why?”

“I can’t explain it you but if you take my directions, you’ll be safe from here on out.”

“What about you?”

“Rena won’t hurt me.”

Yuki turned and saw her passed out body.  “Go now.”

Mayu stepped out of the car and walked over to the bus stop.  The car drove away from her as she was left alone to venture on her own.  She thought that something was wrong with her but the more she blamed herself, the more it didn’t make any sense.  The bus ride home became a mental battle to why she was kicked out of the car and then Rena came to mind which made sense on the scare she received.

She arrived to another box on the table.  Mayu ripped open the box to a small photo album.  Flipping through the pictures, she saw a girl growing up into a woman and at the end there was a phone number in red lettering.  She held the paper in hand, looking at it carefully when a hand came across the mouth and dragged her into the bedroom.

Ah.. as I thought... they picked up Rena in the prison.

Rena is such a poor soul.... how could someone do that to a person?!

I can't blame Rena for being Gekikara like person

She is just a result of continuous abusive both physical and mental

Why Yuki asked Mayu to go away from the car... like scared when Rena wakes up... she is going to be uncontrolled... or violent towards strangers...?

Well Yuki is safe because she knows Rena before hand....

What's going to happen next...

What's they next move... in their vengeance quest?

I can't wait to see more

Thank you for the update

I saw this and it was the reason why I end up writing this chapter, Gekikara is a better character to write about I think. (This should go into the discussion section :nervous) Anyways, the Five Demons are a group that inflicted torture, to who they are, it will be uncovered in later chapters

@cisda: Well Itano is already mentioned but you wondered which two of the three will be part of the team.

Chapter 4

A few days later, Yuki’s words came into her mind as they headed into Ginza during the peak hours.  Rena led the way of the trio with Yuki and Mayu slowly following her through the crowded streets.  Lights bloomed everywhere catching the men’s eyes with fantasies colluding in their minds.  Yuki began to stare at each sign before moving onto the next giving way to Mayu to stay behind Rena.

“Mou… are you okay?”  Rena asked as she reached out with her right hand.

“It is still sore but do you understand your condition?”  Mayu stared at her as she slowly shook her head.

“I don’t know but every so often I feel energized to dominate a person.”

Mayu looked away to a bright green neon sign.  The katakana characters flashed quickly as Rena quickly confirmed the name.

Kojima Haruna

Rena felt a slight chill in her arms as Yuki caught up and saw the name flashing in front of her.  Yuki grabbed Rena’s hand and charged through the line.  The men’s voices shrilled over the intrusion and a swift kick to the jaw quieted the crowd, leaving Mayu outside near the bouncer.

The two glanced around the area to see the club packed on a weeknight.  The alcohol simmered in their minds as they quickly grabbed drinks off the waitress’ tray and drank them quickly.  The drinks were quite strong but not enough to make them collapse over.  To their right, the bar was lined up with men.  To their left, the table were scattered across a large area where a crowd was formed.

“Kojima has to be here.”  Yuki spoke as she weaved through the men.

Standing tall, she was in the arms of a balding man.  Her smile curved around her cheeks as the guy’s hand slowly going down to her behind.  Yuki peeled him off her and caught her expression perfectly in her mind.  Rena came to the right side and flashed a smile.

“What are you guys doing here?”

“We need you to defeat the Five Demons.”  Yuki said bluntly.

“I can’t do that.”  She said while swiping away the guy’s hand.  “Not after what happened.”

“You have to forget about that.  She would want you to help us.”

“Kojima-san, please help us.”  Rena pleaded as she was bent at ninety degrees.

“I need to know why.”  Haruna reached out for Yuki and instantly got the answer.

Kojima Haruna had developed herself as a hostess but in her past she had learned of her powers to dwell into a person’s mind.  Their feelings and thoughts was her advantage in facing an opponent.  She had won two hundred fights before losing one.  The one loss stung really hard and promised one more fight against her.  Kojima swore that she would get her revenge and called the woman out.

Haruna viewed her as the lone rival in her life.  Her dark brown hair and school uniform angered her.  It was the reminder of her lost and lifted her fists up to her face.  She moved forward toward her opponent and reached out with her hand but it was knocked away.  Seeing the counter, Haruna dodged the punch before grabbing her wrist.

The dark screen she saw gave her an insight but a punch knocked her back into reality.  Touching her cheek, the bruise formed quickly and switched her stance.  She swung her right leg, connecting with her neck, bringing the woman down to her knees.  Haruna lifted her right fist over the top but blocked the incoming punch.  The woman returned with an uppercut launched from the ground.  Kojima flew into fence with impact of a wrecking ball knocking over the garden shed.

“Kojima-san, do you want to continue?”

Haruna awoke from her pain-filled nap and pointed at her.

“Yuko… I will not lose.”

She fell back into her sleep and was rescued before Yuko could apply the final blow.  Haruna spent the next few weeks in the hospital recovering from her injuries.  As she was discharged, a bed was rolled out of the next room with a white blanket draped over it.  She curiously looked over to see the nameplate and felt her heart drop into her stomach.

Her lone rival, the only person she had lost twice was gone for good.  Yuko’s final loss caused her death.  Haruna walked back home with her head buried in her hands.  She wanted to finish up the battle but her wounds were too severe to finish and swore off fighting for good.  The woman returned home to the only job offer and took it with contempt.

“Where is this Mayu?”

“She is outside.  She’s underage.”  Yuki explained as she pointed toward the entrance

Haruna rushed toward the door, pushing the patrons away from her, and found Mayu by the sign.  She rushed towards her when a man approached the woman.  Her hand slowly created a fist and charged towards the man.  She threw her right hand, blasting the guy into the building.  Haruna clutched the shoulders and was consumed by the feelings of the woman.  The image was of two people being brutally beaten appeared as a dream.

“What’s happening?”  Mayu questioned as she felt like an arrow piercing through her skin.

“She is looking into your past.”  Yuki inquired with her attention towards Haruna.

“Mayu-chan, tell me if you can fight.”  Haruna demanded as she released her grip.

“All I have is weapons.  I cannot use my fists.”

Haruna tilted her head back with a pained look on her face.  She closed her hand and punched the wall.  “Five Demons can’t go down with weapons.  They will counter us with everything they got.”

“But I saw them…”

“That was a ploy.  I know them personally.”  Haruna interrupted with the other two casually agreeing.

“So… I need to fight to win?”

“I’m not going to push you into it but I need to see your weapons first.”

Mayu agreed to the demand and the group jumped into the car.  They drove off to Tokyo where the last one stood in front of the building.  Haruna faced the tall person with a half-smile.  A fur coat covered her top half of the body and blood red lipstick accenting her lips.  Her hair was of a dark orange and holding out her hand as the hostess clamped her fist.

“Well, I’m surprised she’s gotten this far.”  She commented as the rest caught up to her.

“Why are you here?”

“Watanabe Mayu owes me something.”

“Shinoda, did you set this up?”  Rena asked as her body began to seizure from the cool air.

“I may have but Mayu wants this more than any of you guys.”  She threw the coin up in the air and snatched it before it hit the ground.  “Where’s Itano?”

The group zipped their lips giving Shinoda her answer and flipped her phone.  “Go finish her.”

Yuki passed by Shinoda, bumping her shoulder hard.  “Let’s go upstairs.”
