I'm wondering what will be the new scandal by Shukan Bunshun, in a try to catch the Senbatsu wave...

Congrats Sashi!

i was rooting for some members who graduated, glad Nacchan came back.Today,i'm celebrating by drinking coffee(even though i hated it). I just hope for the best to all of them.I don't know which is the biggest shocker this time: Sasshi's center or Mariko's Grad announcement?

I both loved and hated this election.

Stuff I liked
Sasshi winning
Shibata Aya ranking well
All my HKT48 bbs living up to expectations
Hirajima Natsumi fans showing that they still want her to be around for a bit
Yui mastering the art of breathing
Kaotan getting the promotion she deserves

Stuff I hated
Ranked members saying shit like 'I'm sorry I didn't rank higher', which sounds a lot like blaming their fans
Shinoda Mariko announcing her graduation
Girls unhappy about where they were ranked
Fucking commentators!
People commenting negatively about Sasshi's win

I'm trying to put together the feels.... It is a hard task.... But I will do my best.... I agree with a lot of points that SomethingWild-san mentioned but there were things I disagree with.... Well, it just says we are different nee?

Let's try to do this.

Future Girls

-YES, Nishishi is in!!! She is lower than last year by one spot but hey, she still is in, especially with this huge number of fresh members!!
-Shiori...MEH
-OH YES NACCHAN!!! I was so happy!!! I wanted Yukarin to rank too but this is good  :twothumbs
-RanRan low but I am sill happy...she is in!!
-Sakippe....nice even if a bit too low... I think she expected to rank a bit higher
-Mio...a cute girl  :yep:
-Kyoka-chan!! YESH!!!
-Miorin....Fresh Lemon ni Na......to hell... not interested....MEEEH
-Wasamin....she got lower...like way lower....and yet she still got in...
-Meru....she grew on me then was meh then grew on me more and now she's again meh for me.... So meh...
-Oh, the feels!!!! MAACHUN!!! I CRIED!!!! I was so happy!!! I mean she got higher in the ranks so I am really happy!!!
-Aamin lower...expected, not surprised...
-Suuchan!!!!    SO PROUD!!!! She went up and I like her a lot, she's such a hardworking person!!
-Mah Ayarin!!!!! keeping her place... I wonder if that is good or bad... I am happy nevertheless and I hope to see her in new light. I hope she doesn't graduate!!!
-Akari-chan...I am happy!!! (I will repeat the word happy a lot, get used to that  XD)
-Shu!! Such a CUTIE PIE!!  :twothumbs

This is gonna be an interesting song to see as they have both the strong and cute members in it. But seeing who is the center of this....it's probably gonna be a cute song

Next Girls

-I think Mina's placement in SKE did some credit and also... she is the captain of the ex-team 4, so she deserves attention. And I started liking her recently, with The Saturday Night Child Machine show helping me :D she is so amazing there... wonder why Kato didn't rank... probably coz she lacks something...??
-KobaAmi....wonder if I should start taking interest in her?.. she seems nice...?
-Harukyan up!! did AKB0048 did some impact?! this is nice~ she grew on me even if before I disliked her - her being a brat with staff and such... but somehow I seem to be less loathed towards her...
-Mutomu is another case were I had mixed feelings... Just I was meh at first then interested, then meh, but now I seem to like her  :twothumbs
-*bawls* FUUCHAN~!!!! One of my recent favorite NMB babies~!!!! UWA~ so ureshii~!!!
-Lovetan did it!! Up the ranks!!! I hope she goes even more up next year!! Loli-harassment pays off apparently  XD
-never been a huge fan of Makiko...dunno what to say..meh...
-Riina....same as Makiko...meh...
-Keicchi....same as the two above..meh...
-Madoka.... You dun wanna know my opinion about her...I might get haters so I'll keep with the 'meh'....
-Tano....not sure..she's lower in my list than Meru so.... I just dun feel she's sincere.... for me she doesn't appeal much...
-Haruppi....some time ago she was lower than Meru in my list but now I am really happy she ranked higher...I just think she deserves to be higher than Meru that is all...and she is kinda cute~
-sad news for Mocchi...and for me as I am a huge fan of hers... let's blame the management!!!! I mean it....blergh.... My Mocchi.... *hugs Mocchi tightly* you have my support....your single is still one of my favorites between the recent ones! (I like it more than Shortcake, Masaka or the other Kasai single I dun remember the name of... OTL ) :twothumbs
-Mariyagi YESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a fan of her since....FOREVER? Nyaha~ SuzuYagi is in, even if in different teams (Yagi - K, NextGirls; Suzu - B, FutureGirls) :jphip:
-HAACHAN!!!!  :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: I think this is one of the happiest moments I had through this whole election!!! No matter where she ranks in my own rankings she will always be one of the few that I will always follow no matter what and that I will always support no matter what!!  OH THE FEELS!!!!!
-Amina.... so low.... BUT she is the center!!!  :twothumbs This is osam!!

I think I am anticipating this song a lot... Probably gonna be the idol-y type, so let's wait and see what this brings  :thumbup

Under Girls

-Reinyan!!!! A good jump!!
-Non! YESH!!! One of my recent SKE babies~!!!! Nyaha~!!!! (repeating myself... oh well  XD ) Happy!!!! Especially coz she went 25 places up!!!  :deco:
-ANNIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UWA~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! URESHI~~~!!! My No.5 (if Acchan is not present LOL) is in!!! SO PROUD!!!! Which reminds me...           for Juri not getting in.... But she said she won't graduate  :) I know Annin is not content with her position...but considering the fact she didn't rank last year....she should be lucky~!!!
-two spots down...not a big change...and Masanya is not that great for me... I just don't see that something in her the others see..but she's not a nuisance for me or something. Just not moved by her, that's all
-oh my dear gorgeous Nana!!!!!!!    18 places up!!! What a jump!! So proud and happy to be her fan!!!
-Airin!! Slowly going up, aren't we?! Yes, so happy!!! Next year she even might be center of Under Girls!!! *dreaming big*
-Mhm...Sakura...even though my nickname is same as her name...I just don't see the craze she's getting... I am not too fond of her... Haruppi is more to my liking but meh...
-Kawaei ranking is not a surprise just I think everyone - including me - expected her to rank higher... Well....she is pushed a lot and is getting a lot of attention so I don't mind her being lower than expected....as should happen with a certain no-emotions-whatsoever-face in Senbatsu too... but about that later... dun think I am a hateful person...just some of the pushes never work...if they do...half of the time I keep asking myself why...coz I dun see it... Kawaei on the other hand is the girl I like being pushed so yeah, I wanted to see her higher  :catglare:
-KAOTAN YES!!!!! Show them what it means, the Kenkyuusei power!!!  :twothumbs
-Akane went just one spot up... But she ranked and I am happy!!
-Yuria Peace, another one of my recent babies in SKE!! she went up, but as with Kawaei case I - and probably others too - expected her to rank higher, maybe even in Senbatsu... Well...let's hope she gets it next year
-Rie...I am not surprised with her drop at all as she was never good in SKE and I dun like MR3 too... and I was never really fond of her... Some time ago, when I was a noob of AKB and knew only My oshimen and a few more known members...I used to mix her with Mocchi and thus disliked Mocchi...but then I became a fanatic of 48 Family and here I am, liking Mocchi and still disliking Rie somewhat greatly...dunno why...she just...seems to be insincere...mah...
-Akicha...similar case to Rie....just a bit different... I now also dislike her for her being insincere and all but I used to like her a lot... She just appeared to be different than I imagined... oh well...
-so sad to see Umechan drop out of Senbatsu... but considering the popularity of SKE/NMB it was to be expected... still, glad she didn't drop low and that she is near the center of Undergirls
-this... *needs a moment* *cries* I was bawling and crying and weeping when they said the words 'AKB48 Kenkyuusei'. I knew fans won't let her down. No matter the scandal I like her a lot and I will always support her. Like Haachan, she is from those I will always support no matter the situation or rank  :twothumbs I was so happy when later Takamina congratulated her by hugging her  :deco:  :inlove:
-at first I was not a huge fan of hers... but then...this droopy eyed Aya.... she's cute~ hell, she's so cute~ Can I hug her?!  XD :nervous yeah, anyways, good for her.

Another cute song?!... Gimme kakkoii songs, ONEGAITASHIMASU!!!!! GAH!!! I hope we get at least one strong vocals/dancing song...

Senbatsu

16. Suda Akari   <--- My 2nd prediction was right!!!
This is another blast moment for me!!! I am so happy!!! She deserved this spot as she is so hard working and so amazing and funny and talented and all other words you can insert!!! I am very happy she ranked and proved hard work pays off (Takamina's words) She's my last years Umechan!!!

15. Watanabe Miyuki-chama
This is indeed a sad moment for me... I wished to see her higher... I dun mean higher than Sayanee but...higher in the ranks... oh well... we might see it next year... But she got into Senbatsu so the fishing worked out and I am really proud of her. One step at a time. Getting into Senbatsu->Media Senbatsu->Top 5->Top 3->No.1

14. Yamamoto Sayaka   <--- My 2nd prediction was right!!!
The thing I noticed in all the Senbatsus is SayaMilky and wMatsui ranking together (except 22nd Single Senbatsu - where Milky didn't rank and Jurina was 14th, while Rena was 10th - and 13th Single Senbatsu - where Rena was not as well known as nowadays so she ranked in Under Girls, 29th and Jurina in Senbatsu, 19th) and so I was not surprised to hear her name being called after Milky's. She's a great singer, dancer, actress, performer overall and a great leader too. I am happy these two made it in Senbatsu this year  :cathappy:

13. Yokoyama Yui
Expected her to rank higher but going slowly up is a good thing too. I always was fond of her and even when I was frustrated about the push she was getting I soon noticed it is worth as she was so amazing... The members like her, she seems nice and also funny - her speeches every year - and...she was BRILLIANT in MG2!  :deco: This year her speech was a surprise for everyone and I was proud of this girl who somehow secured No.10 spot in my rankings (if we dun count the graduated members) and I dun think she is gonna move from that spot anytime soon.... Well, she might go up....but not lower...coz she is AWESOME  :inlove: Yuihan!!! SUKI DA YO!!! :inlove:

12. Shimazaki Haruka
Wanted to see her lower as I really think they are overdoing it with her push. I get it, she might be quirky, a decent actress and all but I hate it when they try to make her be the next Acchan. Acchan can only be one and as long as we respect that aspect I can accept Paru. I dun hate her, I know it's not her fault but...I dun see her trying. At the Elections you could see she expected to be in the Top 10 like she deserved it more than older generations. I think she still has a way to go and even Kawaei has better expressions than her. Even Annin has the somewhat Ice princess image. But Paru is just blank. I even have the feels sometimes to take a pen and write something in that blank expression book of hers... She got somewhat better recently yet still.... I am not fond of her. Dun be mad at me, I am not a hater. It's just for me she doesn't deserve to rise this high...but meh... I wrote a lot about her so it means I have a place for her somewhere in my list and I really do... it's just...she's not that osam...

11. Itano Tomomi
I guessed she'd be No.10 so why my heart was bleeding so badly when I saw her there on the stage, holding the 'grammy statue' which screamed No.11?   I really feel like she deserved a better send off... But then again..it was clear she never liked the Sousenkyo and this year she stated it clearly. I can see where the dislike for her is coming from. She was dull recently while performing and you could tell she wanted to 'fly the coop' badly and fast. So even though my heart bled I understood the situation and patted myself. I can always support her as a solo singer - which I do btw, as all her songs are on my ipod - and so I calmed down.

10. Miyazawa Sae    <--- My 1st prediction was right!!!
After her speech I was so proud being a SaeYaka fan and Sae fan overall. She might be lower than 30th in my list and yet she is the one I always support. She is quirky, Ikemen, funny, but also a strong performer and an amazing teacher. Watching how she strives to teach the SNH girls I was so moved... And after her speech... Screw you AKi-P, in your face!! I am happy she knows what she wants and that she believes in that. I really also believe in her being able to bring SNH to the sunlight as Sasshi did with HKT. GO GO Sae-chan!!!

09. Kojima Haruna    <--- My 1st prediction was right!!!
I dun have much to say about this... Recently I am disappointed in her...she doesn't have that bright light she used to have and even SNCM didn't help her... I hope she wakes up soon and comes back out of her dull self... Or she can always graduate and go marry Mariko-sama...

08. Takahashi Minami
This...I can't...the feels....Sou Kantoku... I'll refrain from commenting on this one...  :on cloudeye:

07. Matsui Rena-sama    <--- My 1st and 2nd predictions were right!!!
KYA~~~!!!!! I screamed, jumped around, rolled on the floor and bawled and wept and all other nice feels together with laughter, giggling, tears and biting of my nails..... My SKE Oshimen ranking this high in Senbatsu....  :nya: :wriggly: :shy2: :shy1: :luvluv2: Just so amazing and brilliant... She deserved this spot and I am really happy for her. She will never leave No.2 spot in my heart, of that I am 100000000% sure~  CONGRATULATIONS, RENA-SAMA!!!

06. Matsui Jurina
As expected, wMatsui together in Senbatsu, ranking one after another. Not surprised and really happy  XD Even though I wanted Rena over Juju but still happy with the outcome. All the hard work Juju put through this past year really paid off and I am proud of these two girls~

05. Shinoda Mariko    <--- My 2nd prediction was right but....
When she started her speech... I knew it... I cried so hard... This... I expected her to graduate but this fast... I feel K.O'ed... But I understand this graduation a lot, having her own fashion line and seeing so many kouhais ranking... Still...  :tantrum:

04. Kashiwagi Yuki    <--- My 2nd prediction was right!!!
Ah... that was expected... Nee? Dunno what to say much... Just in the end, the closer to the winning spots we come I lose the ability to comprehend what I'm feeling...  :err:

For now I'll refrain from talking about the top 3... Just feel down...and also a bit happy..dunno... so many things and feels to sort out... I'll talk about the top 3 later... Maybe tomorrow... gomenne...  :kneelbow:

You know what I just realized?

IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!!!! :shocked The future was predicted!

In the AKB0048 anime, they said that one of the center nova, Sasshii, was one of the most popular 0048 members. And, it can be told in the votes, Sasshii's popularity is growing!!!

Plus...

^^This guy's a total FRAUD!!!

Miichan and Sasshii's luck was flipped AAAAAAAAAALLL~~~~~~ the way backwards!!!! Miichan was top, but she ended up in a scandal, demoted to a kenkyuusei, and shaved her head! And, Sasshii was bottom, but SOMEHOW managed to get center!!!!!!!

AKB48's getting crazier and more complicated every second. :panic: What's becoming of our dear girls?!?!?! :bleed eyes:

What. A. Show. Love the results or hate them, it really was something else. I think we can all agree on that.

My thoughts and stuff:

Future Girls

- Nakanishi Yuka made it again. Pretty fun surprise. And I thought that would be the biggest SKE surprise if the night. LITTLE DID I KNOW WHAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.

- Kinchan made it too?! Okay, surely THAT will be the biggest SKE surprise. Surely...

- Nacchan ranking at all was a bit of a surprise to me, but I figured if one ranked, it would be her and just barely. I honestly did not expect any of the grads to rank. I think Oshima Mai, Ono Erena, even Kasai Tomomi's solo careers so far show how quickly the AKB bubble bursts for them once they're out of the group's umbrella.

- Mio ranked unbelievably low. I thought for sure she'd at least be in the upper 30's. Wow, I'm shocked.

- Kyon(Isohara Kyoka) ranked?! Best. Sosenkyo. Ever. That was seriously an awesome moment. At this point I gave up counting the SKE surprises. :lol

- Sucks to see Wasamin fall 23 spots. She's way too awesome for that. :( She needs some more solo activity, and also some idol promotion. She could be the first enka gravure idol!

- Meru ranking low is a bummer for the HKT camp, but I don't know if I'd call myself surprised. I've come to like her quite a bit, but her push still feels really artificial in a lot of ways.

- Happy to see Maachun still ranked in! She even doubled her votes and went up a few spots. Yay!

- Aamin fell several spots. No! D:

- Yoshida Akari ranking is pretty cool. Girl's pretty awesome and I always enjoy her rather dangerous Google+ pictures. :nervous :nervous :nervous

- Shuu as Future Girls center is a nice surprise. Team BII really needs some hype. It also fits the title of the senbatsu group.

Next Girls

- KoAmi ranked as well?!?!?! The fuck's going on here? I don't know, but I really like it. The power in SKE has shifted for sure! This is GREAT!

- I'm really surprised to see Muto Tomu actually ranked UP. I've seen her like nowhere since Show Fight. She's cool, so I'm fine with it, but definitely a surprise.

- Fuuko is IN! Not much of a surprise, maybe a tad lower than I had hoped, but still awesome! Or should I say... Wonderfuu!

- Lovetan going up a bit is welcome. I think she does a great job in HKT. She's really tried to make herself work in that group and be a good addition. In my opinion, she's totally succeeded. :thumbup

- Saito Makiko ranking is.... SO overdue. I've loved this girl since the old KII days and seeing her name in here just warms my heart. What a great thing to happen. :) Honestly, I was so overwhelmed when she was announced I didn't know she ranked until she gave her speech.

- Matsurina as well? What the... okay, awesome. Very unexpected.

- Jonishi Kei ranking in and a LOT higher than I would have thought. Kickass!

- Umemoto Madoka ranking in is another one of those heartwarming moments. She's dedicated herself to Team E and I'm glad that it was finally rewarded. Awesome stuff.

- Haruppi ranked way lower than I would have preferred, but not too bad a spot.

- Wow, Mocchi took a pretty decent drop. :( Her votes stayed around the same as last near. Bummer, she's too fine to drop down.

- Haachan manages to gain 14 spots and have a strong showing yet again. Makes me so happy. She's like my original Team B representative. I want to see her do great in everything she does. <3

- Not sure how to feel about Amina's rank. She went down a bit but she gets Next Girls center. Even-ish trade? :sweatdrop:

Undergirls

- Reinyan went up a bit, hurray! We need more Reinyan gravure, dammit! :jerk:

- Kanon shot up quite a bit. I'm surprised, honestly. I don't see what she has done to go up twenty-friggin'-five spots, but good for her. <3 ~

- Annin going from not ranking to 30 also quite the accomplishment. :O2

- Masana about in the same spot. I'm glad she's at least holding steady. She's such a lovely woman.

- THE RISE OF YAMADA NANA BABY! She's so cool. I'm glad she made undergirls.

- Airin also in a stable spot. Represent us Gundam fans well!

- Sakura landed about where I realistically expected her to be, and I'm fairly happy with it. I hope she gets even higher next year, though! I also hope that being the second highest HKT girl gets her in a better spot for HKT's 2nd single.

- Kawaei making a SUPER STRONG showing for her first rank-in. Sasuga baka center.

- Kaotan went up? I'll be honest, she's gone way down in my personal rankings and her appeal is starting to be lost on me, but good for her. She has worked really hard to be entertaining in her own way.

- Churi about in the same spot as expected. I expected as much after her comments about the sousenkyo, and since Rie's SKE concurrency was terminated, the fan push didn't happen.

- Yuria going up doesn't surprise me at ALL. With all the recent graduations I was sure she would pick up support from the SKE fans. No doubt in my mind. :)

- Wow, Rie's votes went up some but she still flopped right out of the senbatsu. Harsh reality on this one. I can sort of understand why her support hasn't increased to a major degree though. She's been doing some fairly un-idolish things on camera the past year. Plus she cock-blocked Tecchan! Props to him for still supporting her, though. FYI I'm mostly joking.

- Akicha falling doesn't really surprise me. Her snoody comments last year were kind of a downer and Harugon has been lapping her in JKT participation. She's lucky to have gotten that high in my opinion.

- Miichan fell out of the senbatsu but her votes still went up. Kinda hard to read. It seems like her support merely stayed around the same where others around her increased. I'm not sure if this is symbolic as it may seem just looking at its face value. This could have very easily happened with no scandal in play. We always comment about how we don't understand how a girl doesn't like being undergirls center instead of at the bottom of the senbatsu, but you can tell from Takamina's and others' reactions that there is something very, very valuable to them about being in that senbatsu. Lines really are drawn between this groups. I feel bad that the girls seemingly stress on that so much.

- Shibata Aya is someone I've always had the corner of my eye on for some time. That lovely voice, that great smile, them awesome overall looks, and of course those crazy bug eyes. She seems like a sweet girl, and somehow her fans showed up in fucking force. This was a truly epic surprise. Even with NMB and HKT taking up some of the spotlight, it just goes to show you don't fuck with SKE, man. :twothumbs

Senbatsu

- Akarin fished her way into senbatsu. Not too surprising. She is another I expected to go way up after the recent mass graduations.

- Speaking of fishing, I am kinda surprised to see Milky lose to Sayanee. I love them equally so either outcome is fine with me, but I thought for sure Milky had the hype to get it done. I still think this will be the new fight to watch for each year. I can see their rankings duking it out just like Jurina versus Rena.

- Yui was freaking out bad before her name even came up, and I totally laughed my ass off when the usher knew to go ahead and go get her and take her down the stairs. But she did pull it together for the last of her speech. Such an awesome girl, I'm glad she went up a couple of spots.

- Paruru in senbatsu, well whoopie. I was expecting her to be around 19. Honestly... meh. It doesn't bother me but I honestly just don't see the charm, either. Whatevs.

- Tomochin gets a pretty crappy sendoff, going down a few spots. Oh well, could've been way worse.

- Sae in the top ten is how it should be. :)

- Haruna going down is a bit surprising given how she's on a lot of media regularly and gets a lot of work. She didn't look too happy, either. Maybe it's because she knew she lost to them dirty Nagoyans.

- Takamina out of the kami 7? Fuck that shit. How can soukantoku not be in kami 7?! Injustice!

- Jurina and Rena continue to duke it out, but it looks like Jurina is the dominant force once again. Honestly it makes sense. Jurina has gone from being a hype machine to an idol machine. She's really become great at what she does. And there's also her awesome recent pictorial work. I still would have preferred Rena to win for the trololol's, but this is fine too.

- Mariko in the same spot isn't too surprising seeing the INSANE amount of support she got at Request Hour. Then she drops the fucking bomb on everyone by saying she wants to graduate? BUMMER. I was hoping she would stay and defy the artificial idol age limit. Looks like that task is left to Sato Mieko now. I don't wanna see her go, Mariko's so cool(and so hot.) :(

- Yukirin had a strong showing. Her votes went up about 25k and I'm happy for her. I personally still think she deserves to outrank Mayuyu, but like the song goes, you can't always get what you want~

- Mayuyu should be happy about how she did. She broke 100k and those aren't small potatoes.

- Yuko had a strong showing as well. Her votes went up around 28k and she seemed alright with it. I bet here is some relief to not being the center. Yuko handled it in typical awesome Yuko fashion. I love how she just rolls with the punches and has fun with it. Some of the fans out there could learn a thing or two from her. :yep:

- I was totally spamming #Sasshi2013 but I honestly did not expect it to happen. When the announcer said "AKB48..." for #2, I didn't jump, yell, scream, anything. I just put my face close up to the monitor and fisted my keyboard to send random characters to the IRC to display excitement. I was in total. fucking. shock. As someone who has been a Sasshi fan since the AKB48+10 days I couldn't be more excited. She's my kamioshi and she won the sousenkyo. Of course I'm thrilled. I understand some people aren't Sasshi fans in general, and that's fine. There are those out there that don't like that she had a scandal, and while I don't really care about the loveban rule I at least try to respect that. But there is a lot of... to put it nicely, utter nonsense about Sasshi in this fandom about how she mercilessly took over HKT48, is some kind of diva, and other complete bullshit hateful comments even I, Datalanche, inventor of #ParuPie, wouldn't repeat. To all that, I say: I devour your delicious butthurt tears for breakfast, lunch, dinner and fucking dessert. ANYWAYS, all I can say is this news makes me extraordinarily happy. There's really no words to properly express my excitement. This really does signify something big for the 48 Groups and it's new page in the history books. I totally love this outcome. It's a surprise, it's something new, it's something exciting and I am going to relish in this moment and cherish it probably forever. This might be the highlight of my 12 year JPop fandom. There is no doubt in my mind that I will own every last version of this single. What am amazing ending to one crazy night of awesomeness. I know the sousenkyo puts pressure on the girls but it's a spectacle that I really enjoy seeing. I really love how we have all been able to see it live the past couple of years.

I have to say, though, this year's stream had some trouble. It was really overproduced to an insane degree. We didn't need commentary, we were all doing that ourselves in skype, IRC, at meetups, and so on. The fan comments thing was a neat idea, but it took up a bit too much screen space. A ticker at the bottom could have been a lot nicer, in my opinion. The fan youtube clips also seemed thrown in, and they played some three or four times. Surely they got more submissions than that. I think next year they should scale it back a bit. Also, while I definitely, DEFINITELY appreciate them providing an English stream, it was just unwatchable this year. You had the left channel with audio translating the show, the right translating the commentators, sometimes one channel would die out, sometimes the translators would just get lost in the mess of Japanese teenage girl language... I gave up on it after 15 minutes. It made me dizzy hearing translators talking over other translators talking over commentators talking over a show. Still, I still enjoyed myself and am eternally grateful to AKS for giving us the ability to see the event live. Much love, much props.

Pretty fun event. Thrills, chills, and lots of surprises. AKB continues to entertain like no other.  :thumbup I don't often rewatch stuff, but I think I'm going to try to rewatch this show. I was so busy reacting to it that I probably missed a LOT of stuff. Plus seeing as how it was 3AM to 8AM when I was watching it, the details get a little fuzzy as the brain wonders why I'm up at such a nutty hour. Fun times!!!

Was unable to watch the event live this year, but post number 9400 dedicated to all of the members, who have to go through this difficult process each year.

Lots of surprises as usual, and I am really a member of  the Itano Tomomi school of opinion about the election process........... (but it is a brilliant ploy by the producer to raise money, and no matter how many million sellers there are, it must cost a lot of money to produce four different groups in Japan, so the election may be necessary to keep the groups around)

but one good thing that came out last year were the amazing singles put out by the Undergirls, Next Girls and Future girls....girls working together on that single who normally never even see each other, girls geting to be the center perhaps for the only time in their career, some great music a bit different than what the top 16 are given.........it is a lot of fun, and I expect good things this year.

Individual  stories that came out this election- yes some great stories, and some personal favorites of mine did well. But no matter who gets what ranking, and for all of the girls who are not ranked, there is a lot of work put in by these girls, a lot of sweat and tears as well, so thanks to all of the members for their efforts. I think in terms of discipline, team work, experience, being a member of these groups would have a positive effect for most of the girls in their future lives, and hopefully the 'negative' stuff that we sometimes hear about is not representative of the overall benefits and experiences that these girls get when selected as a member.

I don't mind it when some of the girls seem glum or upset about what they consider a poor showing- They are in a pressure cooker, and I think everyone has moments in their lives when they don't perform or behave in a way that is  ideal. It is all part of that process of growing up and of life in general.

As an example, certainly Minami Minegishi's earlier experience in reacting to her scandal was truly a world wide event, and it wasn't a positive event by any means. But life is about how do you go on, how do you move forward, and Minami is doing that, and I think she does have some real support coming from other members who are her friends. Perhaps she has lost some friends as a result of her behavior as well, but she can't change the past, only set goals for her future.

It was great reading everyone's comments, at least I got the feeling of what it was like watching the show live from all of your comments.

ありがとう!

Congratulations to Sashihara Rino!! :twothumbs

27 -> 19 -> 09 -> 04 -> 01
What great jumps she had! I'm one of those people who always underestimate our new center and I really didn't see it coming that she's gonna rise to the top, beating even Yuko. I'm kinda getting the feelin' that the 32nd single would be a lot of fun with Sashi as center. New AKB48 is coming and I'm really lookin' forward to it!

Despite not winning, I'm really happy for Yuko. All the way from her name was called to the end of her speech, she was relaxed, happy and funny, just like what she'd said earlier that she'll enjoy it like it's a festival. I'm even happier when I saw subsequent interview in which she expressed no regret and disappointment about being ranked second and very much looked in the same mood when she gave the speech. And I love it when she went to Sashi and telling her about what being the center really is and expressed her wish to support her. Gotta love this young lady more! She cares deeply for other girls. And I hope, after this, her burden she's been carrying will not be as much as it was so she can focus on other jobs that would eventually open the path for her to leave the group. And of course, I most certainly do not want the big boss to get in her way. Anyway, Acchan didn't look too happy when Yuko ranked second, did she? Kinda funny I think, because her expression is too obvious lol.
