Never heard of HKT48. The more groups the better though... theoretically.

^ Are you going to the Cheeky Parade x BiS x SteamGirls show on the 26th? I wanted to go to the Cheeky Parade x AeLL. show but it's at 12 and I don't arrive in Tokyo until 4.

Some of those groups may still attend... HimeKyun and nanoCUNE are definitely out though. Chimo is out too (for those interested in them).

never heard about HKT48? you are a lucky person.

we never know. some people are talking that the last group (they'll probably add just one more to equal last year event number of participants) may be another "big name". let's wait.

no, I won't go there cuz: it's in a week day. gotta work. and I'll already be seeing my BiS a lot in this near future so no need to go there and have to endure a Cheeky Parade concert.  :P

HKT are least poplar of the 48 family (despite sasshi) and the girls are actually really cute with loads of great personalities.
I mean, chances are I won't see them unless they are performing at the same time as absolutely NO groups I like...but really, they aren't bad.

At least in my opinion xD

I`m cursed. there`s no other explanation. I was hoping to see Nocchi. or at least Eitaso. but no, all I received was Saseko.  and it can still get worst. imagine as the last attraction, to top the cake: Sasshi solo.  :panic:

we have to wait for the final announcement and the time table (both will probably come soon), but as of now... I would bet that HKT makes a one-day appearance like SKE last year and by doing so, the tickets of this day will most likely sell out. HKT may be the least popular of -48 franchise but with sales around 300000, they are far ahead any other group attending the festival. I expect a relevant increase in public interest with them around.

Hey guys I have some questions for those of you who have been or know people who have gone.

Where are goods sold? Like, can you get group/member goods by where they perform, or is there like a specific area with ALL merchandise?

Also, I heard some groups have things for if you buy a certain amount of goods. Everything from handshakes to pictures with them and random things, depending on how 'indie' they still are, I guess.
Where do you find out what each group is offering, and how much you gotta buy to get this?

they have a specific area where the groups sell stuff, the so called "Grand Market". all the groups have a space in the big tent mounted there. each one is free to make their regulations, regarding activities and cost. it will be available in the group's space, generally a board explaining all. groups that are a little organized will post the regulations in their official blog too, prior to the event.

different activities can be made just like everywhere, but most of it will take place in another specific area, the "Greeting Square". the festival will make available a time table containing the specific hour which group will be there. they happen during the shows, so expect to lose some performances if you go there wanting to meet some groups.

this was the way it happened last year, of course this year can be different. (probably not)

Thank you soooo much for all the info <3 Really really helpful.
Now my only worry will have to be that I can't really read Japanese xD Was hoping that stuff would all show up beforehand and i could have someone translate for me ahahaha ah well, I can recognize the names of my favorite groups, and I'll memorize things like "2shot" "picture" "handshake" etc I suppose~

it will be your first time in an idol concert? cuz I don't think you need to worry so much about the activities there, they'll happen just like... always. nothing really different... well, some groups may sell special goods made for this event only (for example, Afilia always has a new set of trading photos just for the festival). no need to understand a lot of moonspeak too, most of the times you have to buy a cd or spend something like 1000 yens in goods to get a handshake ticket. 2 shots are generally a little more expensive... depends on the group. since the festival attracts a lot of people, the most famous groups will most likely do only a group handshake or high touch. you'll get more fanservice only with the unknown groups. (as I said before, nothing really new here. it's always this way, everywhere)

First time in an idol concert. I just turned 18 and have never been to an idol concert or to Japan or anything like that....so it's gonna be a really big new experience xD

so they announced the groups that will appear in only one of the days. time to select what is the day of your preference, folks. I foresee tickets selling out in the second day

day 27 only:

Ono Erena
Super Girls
Naaboudoufu@Nana
Passpo
Bellring Shoujo Heart
Lyrical School
Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome
Yumemiru Adolescence

day 28 only:

HKT48
9nine
Tokyo Cheer2 Party
Houkago Princess
RYUTist
Dream5

and I foresee Erepyon and HKT closing the festival each day. you can call me "The Oracle" if I get it right.  :P

Well, that moves Super Girls up my priority list for sure. Though they were pretty high, anyway xD Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome would be a nice catch, too.

Would say PASSPO, and if I  can see them I will for sure, but I am going to their live on the 3rd of August, anyways, so I can survive without them if needed xD

^^ Idoling closed TIF 2010, 2011, and 2012. We can still call you the oracle if Perfume gets added 8). Saturday is a possibility though. Although if they are going to use Zepp Tokyo until 11PM on Saturday, that would mean Erepyon is performing after 10pm. Seems unlikely to me, but it's possible. She probably gets sleepy after 8.

The dates seem weird for some of the groups. TIF has Houkago Princess scheduled for only the 28th. But at the Houpri homepage their schedule has them for both days. I'm kind of fanatical about them, so I hope they attend both days. It messes up your flexibility if you have to see a certain group on a certain day.

Only relevant to iDOL Street fans, but several members graduated this week, so that may impact which street-sei group you want to check out.

Also got my wristband yesterday morning:

lol Perfume are way beyond the "idols" tag and i don't see what force in the world can prevent that Idoling!!! close the event this year too.

on the good side i'm so happy that Afilia and Negicco are performing both days, that means i have 100% more chances to catch them on stream... that if they are going to stream it

yep you got it right. I totally forgot the late hours/age factor. HKT has a bunch of lolis that won`t be able to stay till the end. and it makes more sense to Idoling!!! make a special show to close not only the event but the Kadosawa`s guidance. thinking better about it... they may even perform a longer show, with like two hours...

hey, the last performance in the main stage last year was that crap Fudanjuku. I have a chance with my Erepyon call, c`mon.  will they make that "Idol Club Night" through the late hours once again? I don`t think it attracts so many people. I know I won`t see it, cuz staying for two days without a shower after seeing so many shows under that freaking sun is  :smhid

I'm so anxious, I want the timetable to release! Even if it has small changes leading up to the dates (which it's bound to) I really want to have a basic idea of who is performing when so I can start planning who to see~ I'm getting so excited, it's just getting so close!!!!

don't worry, they'll release it in the next few days. and of course, during the festival you'll see lots of delays so your planned schedule will sink deeply.  (don't wory in reality, I'm exaggerating it. a little)

and Shura, they are too... manly!  :bleed eyes: I don't understand how you can like all the groups known. is there some group that you actually dislike? at least a single bit??? c'mon you can't be this DD.

Yeah, I heard from past years. I at least want something to work with, you know? I'll keep checking the site constantly and updating my plans and hoping for the best and working with delays, but I at least just want a basic idea of what to do, who is meant to overlap who, etc. xD

Also I'm with you on Fudanjuku's image. I can not get into it at all ;-; However, I discovered somewhat-recently most of their album songs are RELALY good. Left me feeling so conflicted.

Time table is up...  :thumbup  AeLL. is gonna perform at 18:00 on Saturday at the Hot Stage, which is probably the one that has them streamed, so it is all well for now  :on GJ:  and they are also at one of the Sunday "encores"... :nervous
